How's this for customer service and backing your product.......Early July I bought a Lectric 3.0 from a gentleman on Craigslist with ONE mile on it. His medical situation changed before he had a chance to ride this bike. It was pristine. I put it on my rear carrier and took off from Scottsdale for a 2 month adventure. Bent the handlebars, broke the left brake handle and crushed the controller on the second day on a rough road north of the Grand Canyon. Could not ride it all summer - so MAD at myself for poorly stowing my new bike. Totally my fault. Got back early September and took it in to Lectric Bikes and to my amazement - THEY REPLACED EVERY PART AND WOULD NOT TAKE PAYMENT FROM ME!!!!!!! All the parts were FREE. I did the repairs and I'm riding it today. Thank you, Lectric Bikes.
If your rides are along fairly flat terrain, you can eke out more miles if you unlock the speed caps on PAS levels 1 & 2, so you pull only 4 or 10A. I find PAS 2 is usually sufficient to roll out from a stop and PAS 1 is enough to help me get to and sustain 16-18mph on flat roads when there’s only a light breeze. When setting P22 is set to 0, PAS 1 stops motor assistance at 9mph and PAS 2 at 15mph. Set P22 to 1 and PAS 1 & 2 follow the overall assisted speed cap controlled by P08.
Love my Letric XP 2 with back up battery in my waterproof pannier bag Total 24.4amp And replaced my freewheel from the standard 12:28 to 11:34 now it's a hill climbing beast
I bought one of these 1 day before the video became available. I had been split between Velotric Packer and this bike. The main differences I found between the two was that Packer has the combo lock frame bag, had plastic fenders rather than metal, and was $600 more expensive after discounting for the extra battery. I don't know that plastic vs metal fenders are that big of a deal as plastic are more likely to break in cold temperatures, but metal can rust. Packer's combo lock bag is neat, but I didn't think it was necessary. I ended up picking this bike as I thought that Velotric's internal controller might become a pain if I ever had to work on it and I couldn't find a reason to spend an extra $600. Also, I really liked Lectric's XL Cargo 'saddle bags.' It is likely they could fit on the Packer, but that was just an extra risk to take. Your criticism of the lack of suspension does make me double guess my decision. I had not realized that Packer had the suspension and XPedition didn't. I also think that the XPedition is the only bike I have seen that the taillight is not a break light. This is extremely disappointing. -I will try to update after it arrives, and I can try it out.- Update: after 2 weeks of using this bike as my commuter while having the option to pick up groceries on the way home, I found that my gut feeling that the suspension should have been a deal breaker have been proven true. You really don't grasp just how bumpy roads are until you bike them without a suspension. I have also found the handlebars / folding stem to be 'sloppy' as it feels like the handlebars or going to disconnect at any time. As long as quality holds, I would bet that the AIPAS A6 is superior to this bike in every way while being nearly the same bike. While I buy no means feel that the Xpedition is a bad product, it is clear that Lectric has spent to much money on advertisements and not enough on the product. Thank you for all the reviews, they greatly helped me know what it is that I wanted from an Ebike. BTW, has anyone ever seen an E-bike with Dutch style handlebars before? They are the kind that has hand grips are nearly parallel to the frame rather than perpendicular.
@@risamaeve I would bet they do. The frame might be made by the same place so they would fit. If they don't, it wouldn't take much to modify them to fit.
Best e bike reviews on the internet!! Your objective testing methodology is really useful to viewers. Every bike goes up the hill, runs at top speed, does a timed acceleration and takes a trip in the sand and a test of the brakes. Looks like a great cargo bike but I can’t believe they didn’t include a suspension fork, particularly with narrower tires.
Thank you for your reviews. I have watched a wack load of videos whilst researching ebikes. Most tend to either spew out the brochure or are cringingly negative. It is rather difficult to trust a lot of UA-cam folks presently. Admittedly I have a winter to go through before pulling the trigger, but I feel comfortable with the information you provide. I feel I'll get a decent bang for the buck. Thanks again bud. Solid channel.
Just used your link to buy this! There is an awesome sale going on right now. $405 worth of free add-ons included like the 2 cushions and footboard for example. Your reviews are super helpful!!
Got the bike and been riding it quite a bit, at around 300 miles if I recall correctly. It is great. Only issue I have is the center stand likes to come loose over time. Other than that it is great
Hey Matt thank you for all your content... I put 13.5k miles on a Hey Bike Mars in the last year but I think I learned more about e-bikes watching your videos than I did riding one... I just ordered a new bike the other day and I'm sure I made a much better choice on this one mainly due to your content. Keep it up ❤
They are now saying you should use both hands for signaling..Use your right hand to signal a right turn. They say using the left hand is confusing now. The only reason why all signaling was done from the left hand was because car drivers only had that side of their vehicle to signal before they invented turn signals.
If you are signaling with your right arm, your body could block line of sight of your arm as the majority of road users will be on your left as you should be riding in the right most of the right lane. Problem is, not many motor vehicle drivers have any clue what the hand gestures even mean.
I replaced welgo folding pedals (got loose from too much off road pedal strikes) with similar ones as these. Much lighter, sturdier, grippier. You can avoid stabbing yourself by taking them off. This is a very good bike if you can store it. Hauling kids is typical. Good for working/all day riding in city. Good potential for touring as price makes it worth upgrading: suspension fork, bigger/offroad tires, grips (downside of half throttles is bad grips. Not sure if they are upgradable). Unclear if suspension seatpost can fit. Its a great base to build up the bike you need/want.
You can fit a set of locking Ergon grips designed to work with twist shifters. I think you can buy them as right-hand, left-hand or both hands shorty grips. One of my friends who also has an XPedition upgraded to them as her friction grips spun so easily (and she’s a light person). My stock grips hold on more tightly but when they start to spin too freely, I will be getting an Ergon set.
Rather than talking non stop about how fast the bike can go. Talk about the Tannus tube / tire liners. Going out without these liners is suicide. It’s Only a matter of time before your number comes up. I know, there’s riders out there that say they have been using this bike for years with no Flats. For me it’s called INSURANCE. Buy these liners as soon as you can. If $$$ is a problem. Opt for one battery for now. Get the second battery later. Speaking from experience Having ridden a road bike when I was ten yrs. Old in Sydney AU. 1961. I’ve patched my share of tubes. You DO not want to be out for the day And realize. The tyre is flat. I own this bike with two batteries. Trust me, you’re not cheating with an e-bike. You will love it.
You didn't need tools to unpack it, but also mentioned the excessive staples when you unboxed it. Lectric has been known to send their bikes out with easy-open boxes, too. They sent me an unboxing video link when I got mine, which I thought was awesome. All I needed was to snip off the zip ties and go.
9:26 it does look to be a very effective chain tensioner that has the added bonus affect the chain up and out of the way allowing for more ground clearance and I've never seen a chain tensioner like that before. In theory it's a great idea and I'm very curious to see how effective it actually is
There sure is a lot of flat terrain where you're riding. Great environment for hub drive ebikes. Amazing value for the money! I was looking for an electric cargo bike but the cheapest one at my local ebike shop starts at $4,000 and goes up to $10,000. And because the bikes are from Europe, their max power is only 300W. I'll have to take a look at this one. I only wish it was mid drive with a torque sensor because I live in a hilly city where hub drive motors come to die. And I can probably deal with the rigid suspension since I've been riding non suspension mountain bikes since the 80's.
Thanks for another cool review man! - Just gotta say, if Lectric put the motor from the Xpedition into their folding 3.0 I'd buy one... Like the slick assembly and they're a known brand, but I'm just not into the longtail cargo thing. : /
I rode the expedition after riding the xp 3.0. I could never buy the xp 3.0 now after experiencing the expedition. I loved the expedition, but don’t know if the lack of sustain will start to bother me.
I have a XF800 CYRUSHER. Usless 13 amp battery. But if you want to charge it more quickly. I have two chargers 2 amp each. Use one till it gets hot then use the other charger. Still charges it fully . But more quickly.
The reason there are two telescopes on the seat post is so that you can have one setting and then your partner can extend it higher on top of your setting. It’s not just adapting the tube width.
Please review the coswheel CT20s. There are literally no reviews but it has strong specs. Your my favorite reviewer and I’m looking to pull the trigger soon!
If you ever get the chance to review a Lectric XPremium it's a different beast with a mid-drive and torque sensor. I'm very interested in it. Overall Lectric seems to have their stuff together except for the availability.
I have a couple of questions. With all the bikes you review, how many are given to you as review samples? What do you do with all the bikes after you have reviewed them?
It would be interesting to see this with a belt drive and /or internal gearbox for super fitness/low maintenance,,,and regular tire's specialised for road's,,,and more lights to make families more visible in the day ( :
Mr Beast did do a giveaway and I am one of the winners! It took them 4 months to select and I just figured out I won like 3-4 days ago. Im very excited
@@plebmarv9668 I LOVE THE BIKE! I got to go everywhere in my Town! I got to see more of it, Im very restricted on traveling so Im very happy. I want to make a video about it but i'd find it sorta cringe... The bike is the 2.0 and they made a video about it
I think all those staples are a strategy to make the bike un-returnable! Nice to see that the batteries are SGS certified! Regarding the charge state of the batteries as shipped, that is a shipping requirement for them to not be too high. It reduces the severity of any fires that may occur during shipping. The chargers are cheap and nasty and will take forever, but at least they are UL Listed! Those seat pads are going to get stolen immediately. Read up on percentage grades a little bit. That looks like a 20° slope, not 20% grade.
I love my bike. We own 3. Two strictly for RVing and one for everyday use. We live in the country so it’s for going to the mailbox and dumping trash. I wished it came in pink when I ordered mine just so I can represent being a cancer survivor.
Finally! Been waiting for this one to come. Do you hold on to all these bikes? If so would be great to see your side-by-side thoughts compared to the Velotric Packer1, the Havsco Cargo bike and (once tou get it) a Aventon Abound... they are all "budget" cargo bikes and have ben on my shopping list but i like all for different reasons...i swear ifvsomeown made a bike with all the unique features of each of these in one bike, i would pay a bit more for it than these sell for...
Just watched your Aipas A6 review...they feel so much like a clone of each other...some subtle differences for sure... The Aipas has a few of the good safety + comfort features I wish this bike had - front suspension, turn signals...if it has a UL rating for the batteries and the bike itself and a dropper seat post option, I would be sold on it I think...
I am desperate for an Ebike, but I do weigh just under 400lbs, I walk 1.5 miles to the bus to get to work, but I work late and forced to take a $10 taxi home each night, also on sundays there is no bus so I must spend more on a taxi. It can add up to $320-350 per month. This bike is on sale and since I made the decision to buy an ebike 2 weeks ago I have been hustling on my side job of selling vinyl records online and I am sure I will have the $1400 needed in the next 2 days before the sale ends. The one thing that scares me is, will this move me? I have 2 hills I need to over come to get to work, well one is a bridge, and the other is a steep hill but I only need to climb the bottom portion before I can turn, but would be nice to go all the way up it since I can access more stores and a lake to go fishing. Im about to spend $1400 and this is big risk for me, with my size, the hills, and if this goes bad Id have to sell at a loss. If it works it could allow me so much freedom, I want to get out and enjoy this summer nt be trapped worrying every where I need to go will cost me $20 round trip in a taxi.
I feel you in every aspect of this comment. What did you decide/how did it turn out?? I got an Aventure abound and am happy as hell, but it's a chunk more.than this (which I almost bought instead)..
Great video! Any plans to review their newest bike, the XPeak? For some reason, I can’t stop looking at/considering one of the Leitrim bikes. This newest one seems like it might be for me.
And I thought easily removing the peddles and taking with you would discourage theft of the bike. At least they would be confused about riding it off...
I take the pedals with me as additional deterrent. I use a thick cable to discourage theft of my suspension seatpost and saddle, but am considering replacing the QR clamp with a Hexlox one since I rarely adjust its height and don’t transport the bike.
probably dumb question but when both batteries are in. Is only one actually active and the other is just a place to hold it until you have to swap batteries? or does it just act as 1 single system? Does my question make sense?
It is more nicely finished, has a suspension fork, dropper post, integrated brake lights and uses a torque sensor. But the speed cap of 20mph is too limiting for use in my area with its poor cycling infrastructure. 28mph feels a bit safer than 20mph when I have to ride in traffic going 35-50+ mph. But if you have good to great infrastructure, yeah, I’d go with the Abound. Torque sensor e-bikes are wonderful.
I'm a little concerned about those handlebars. I'm 6' tall, but with a 6' 2" arm span. It seems the only way to push those handlebars forward is to also lower them down. So, I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to get them high enough without them practically being close enough to whack my knees on them.
I just enjoyed my 1st full ride on my Xpedition today because it arrived just yesterday. What should I do to increase my throttle only speed to at least 25mph? Im only getting 18mph with throttle only. I know that i gotta modify it but im completely lost on what to do
I'd like to share my thoughts on the Luckeep X1 e-bike, which was released in June of this year. Priced at only $899, this bike offers incredible performance, boasting features such as turn signals, brake lights, cruise control, a horn, anti-theft alarm, and more. Equipped with a 15Ah battery, hydraulic brakes, and a maximum speed of 30mph for the throttle mode, it also comes with a mobile app for iPhone users. The combination of these features makes it an outstanding choice in terms of both functionality and affordability.
Are those brakes easier to pull since they are closer to the middle? I love the prep work. What is the closest the handle bars will come in? Answered. Could this bike be stored vertically on the rack? Thank you so much!
With full-power throttle (PAS 5 as the throttle is tied to the current limit of PAS levels), expect 15-20mi per battery on flat terrain, as with any similar 750W nominal, 68lb (one battery) e-bike equipped with a 14Ah battery. You can get more range if you throttle in a lower PAS, as they send 4, 10, 14, 20 or 25 amps to the motor. Multiply amps by reported battery voltage to calculate power supplied to the motor. Be sure to remove the special speed caps for PAS 1 & 2 (9, 15mph respectively) so you can use them up the the system assisted speed cap (20 for throttle, 20 or 28 for pedal assist). I find 2 is usually enough to roll out from a stop, and 1 is enough to help me pedal at 16-18mph on flat terrain under low wind conditions.
So far so good after a year. You have to be sure they are fully inserted and the release sleeves are fully retracted to their resting position. I just lubricated the pedals and release mechanisms so they don’t bind. I either take them with me or lock them to the bike with a thick cable to discourage prank thefts by those who know. Ditto the seatpost. I’ve had a seatpost stolen before. It was obviously a prank as they didn’t take anything else and it was a cheap post and saddle.
4:39 Are all of these Lectric branded items actually proprietary Lectric branded items or are they re-branded to appear like they are by a Chinese Factory worker (who doesn't give a damn what he's doing as long as he's getting paid) with identical "branded" items with different logos for many different alleged e-bike manufacturers who are in fact just resellers with an option for the appearance of proprietary branding (that only goes Re-Skin Deep)?
A China-based OEM makes them, but what Lectric offers is warranty and support, which has been stellar thus far for my friends who own 2 XP 2.0s and an XPedition. I’ve yet to use them for my XPedition as I fixed the issues I discovered myself. There are many similarly structured brands that fall flat on the support side. Part of the low price is you will find quality issues with some features, though most don’t affect function. For example, on my XPedition, the bottle cage mounts are off-center, as are the ones for one of the battery mounts. Holes on one of the running boards were misaligned to the ones on the frame. Both brake calipers had pads hanging off the edge of the rotors. That one presents a safety issue (same friend had the pads ejected from the rear caliper once enough material wore away and the edge of the rotor caught the unworn material), but I ground down the spacers to get the pads to fully bear on the rotors. That one seems more a design or last-minute component change than a manufacturing execution issue.
Does anyone know about and use the cruise control feature, or does this model even have it? I couldn’t figure out how to engage it. And I agree, the ride is a bit harsh, but I ride A1A in Florida and it’s a pretty decent road.
I've been thinking about getting this one-off and on but I don't like how the price is going up.I think if it was fifteen hundred I would love to have it I do also live in a pretty hilly area Which is concerning
Obviously you reviewed this bike because I recently asked you to. Excellent work. Now I'm stuck because I don't know what to do with my mind powers...I know! I need to find a female reviewer (pst, not for bike reviews)
Probably to cut costs so they could ship it fully assembled. The company founder mentioned in an interview they really pushed for fully assembled because their target market ( first time buyers with zero assembly experience). Also Lectrics first bike, the XP 1.0 did not have suspension, which they added for the 2.0. Thus maybe Xpedition 2.0 will have suspension.
I suspect an upgrade to that model soon as they have been offering a big discount on it. If nothing else, I expect an integrated rear rack, as they’ve done with the XP and XPedition. It would also be nice if it used two of the same battery rather than two different batteries.

You won’t get an answer on that.
Enjoyed. Great scenery. Nice bike. I just got a keteles k800. Hope you get a chance to ride that one.
That’s awesome!
how did it go? ;)
@@plebmarv9668 I LOVE THE BIKE! I got to go everywhere in my Town! I got to see more of it, Im very restricted on traveling so Im very happy. I want to make a video about it but i'd find it sorta cringe... The bike is the 2.0 and they made a video about it
14:12 Cadence Sensor AKA Hall sensor
30:44 you hit that wall not paying attention didn't you? 😂
Great price and bang for the buck. I am concerned with the plastic locks on the seat and handlebars.
That looks like a 20° slope, not 20% grade.
it is 20% grade, not degree
When you buy it as a regular customer, they only give you one charger. Have to buy the second one separately. FYI
I could really use one of those bikes. I just can't do $1700 and buying the accessories that are needed ro go with it for my needs!
You opened it up wrong supposed to open it up on the end and pull the yellow ribbon. It rolls right out.
I'd like to see you review the Engwe X24. Soon!
Great video! Any plans to review their newest bike, the XPeak? For some reason, I can’t stop looking at/considering one of the Leitrim bikes. This newest one seems like it might be for me.
I have the Mukkpet Stepwagon.. seems very similar.
Awesome video my man New sub
12:29 Hey, watch where you stick that thumb buddy... 😂😂
This is a nice looking e-bike. But all those quick release grips has me concerned how easy it will be for people to steal your seats, pedals, etc.
Front suspension would be nice.
Good as always
probably dumb question but when both batteries are in. Is only one actually active and the other is just a place to hold it until you have to swap batteries? or does it just act as 1 single system? Does my question make sense?
Get the Aventon Abound, y’all. I’ve had both, it’s significantly better.
Mebbe a audio assist for the read out? No screen ive seen us visible in sun conditins. After market analog gauges? Old eyes lol.
Is there any chance that you'll do a review on any of the Freesky ebikes? Especially the Rocky.
I'm a little concerned about those handlebars. I'm 6' tall, but with a 6' 2" arm span. It seems the only way to push those handlebars forward is to also lower them down. So, I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to get them high enough without them practically being close enough to whack my knees on them.
This was concen as well, I ultimately bought the bike though. Thus bike has tons of leg room and reach room for someone who is 6'2
@@bain19 Thanks.
You should get a chance to find and reveiw a lightweight under 50lb e mtb under $2000.
I just enjoyed my 1st full ride on my Xpedition today because it arrived just yesterday. What should I do to increase my throttle only speed to at least 25mph? Im only getting 18mph with throttle only. I know that i gotta modify it but im completely lost on what to do
The throttle-only speed should only work until 20 mph. It's the same with all class 3 ebikes. You only get pedal assist after that up to 28mpg
@mikeyb2607 it definitely has a option 22 but it's locked. Thanks. Looks like replacing the hub motor and controller are my only options.
I would love to see you try out a Leafybike
Are those brakes easier to pull since they are closer to the middle? I love the prep work. What is the closest the handle bars will come in? Answered. Could this bike be stored vertically on the rack? Thank you so much!
Instruction warning to never lock the handlebar in a vertical or rear position. Always a bit forward. Brakes are excellent.
With a 230 lb guy (me) what’s the range in throttle only mode? I do understand hills, terrain etc will have an effect.
Could u try to review the ridstar Q20?
And the Tamobyke v20.
You are so entertaining! 😂
And my very favourite thing is to show people who hate cyclists the way you weave around all obstacles at your crazy (ie. fun!) speed. 😂😂😂
I haven't even touched my drill. Fun time #2 is when you get out your power tools for assembly. 🤩
Can suspension be modded into the bike ?
Great bike, not so sure about the security of the quick release pedals though.
It was obviously a prank as they didn’t take anything else and it was a cheap post and saddle.
hay is that a new TV. ok time for the hatchet!! great vid thumbs up....peace out
He's probably on hatchet probation.
He mentioned in the review it was delayed because of waiting for the accessories, so I think this was filmed before the hatchet tv incident.
On flat ground. My expedition goes anywhere from 35 miles an hour to 38.
I’d like to have one of these.
Does anyone know about and use the cruise control feature, or does this model even have it? I couldn’t figure out how to engage it. And I agree, the ride is a bit harsh, but I ride A1A in Florida and it’s a pretty decent road.
Just what I need!
Hey do you know if the rear seats will fit on the A6 AIPAS CARGO BIKE ?
From lectric yes and if they would let you buy the pedals, they also work. I love those.
I've been thinking about getting this one-off and on but I don't like how the price is going up.I think if it was fifteen hundred I would love to have it I do also live in a pretty hilly area Which is concerning
That's nice place to ride.Where is that located?thanks.
you should review the philodo h8 ebike. its 1,899 with two 1000 watt motors (AWD).
Lmao😂I yanked mine out of the box
i have this bike but its so so hard to find a suspension seatpost for it
Just get an adapter on Amazon
Yup, an adapter and Suntour NCX suspension seatpost work great on this bike.
Can you review the ridstar q20? I was thinking about getting one
What about to drive this thing in kind a Canadian winter??
Dam, I wish I would live in California... lol
That seat post looks like a manual dropper post. Mountain bikes have remotes to raise and lower your seat.
Could you please review an elux Malibu GT? Right now they are on sale for $2,500 until the end of August 2023.
I FINALLY found the e-bike that matches all my wishes, but it's not available in EU 😔
I don’t see a email listed anywhere! I’m looking to meet as many UA-camrs to show are custom built cargo bikes.
Could you make one about Euronau Jumbo ? Thanks!
Obviously you reviewed this bike because I recently asked you to. Excellent work. Now I'm stuck because I don't know what to do with my mind powers...I know! I need to find a female reviewer (pst, not for bike reviews)
This bike or Aipas A6?
No front suspension...??
Probably to cut costs so they could ship it fully assembled. The company founder mentioned in an interview they really pushed for fully assembled because their target market ( first time buyers with zero assembly experience). Also Lectrics first bike, the XP 1.0 did not have suspension, which they added for the 2.0. Thus maybe Xpedition 2.0 will have suspension.
@@Tweak42 Maybe they should also create a "PRO" version with a suspension. Assembling such a bike is a piece of cake.. It's like LEGO building.
I now have over 600 miles on my Lectric XPedition. If they ever offer a front suspension upgrade, I will be first in line.
really hoping the xpremium comes next i am deciding between the 3.0 xpremium and xpedition
I suspect an upgrade to that model soon as they have been offering a big discount on it.
If nothing else, I expect an integrated rear rack, as they’ve done with the XP and XPedition. It would also be nice if it used two of the same battery rather than two different batteries.
I'm telling Doug DeMuro 😂
They sell a “giant” seat but haven’t received it yet
5 foot inseam? no problem on this bike. LOL.
Wonder if no pedals would help to deter theft? Lol. Cant pedal away.
