As far as I know, good ai is not using raycast. MES doesn't either AFAIK. At least not within the targeting system. So how does the camera will have an impact?
@@MichaelArlt through personal testing on drones attacking my base while I'm pirating for materials I target the camera on the front and as soon as it's grinder down it starts wobbling around and can't face me.. I dont see a point in adding a camera to the bot drones unless it's there to follow you. Why would keen make these drones with a camera if they are unmanned? Dunno might be the 1200 hours in the game, might be my inate instinct to try to break games.

I played this scenario before. Lots of fun and a nice new experience vs standard gameplay. I think a salvage playthrough would be tons of fun with Mickey's Salvage spawns randomly about.

a good trick to keep the turrets under control would be to have one set to attack weapons and one set to attack propulsion which will take out all the thrusters and possibly wheels although im not sure about that. that'll stop the cargo shipments from running while keeping the cargo intact
i'm wondering if he remembered to set the range of his canon to 800 instead of the default, you get a lot more survivability if you can hit the target before they get in range.
you can just go into control panel and set the turrets radius to 800 making the ai block a waste of time and resources until you got artillery the massive problem with custom turrets should be obvious, they cost way more resources to make than a simple turret AND are a huge pain in the butt to repair and when they get destroyed its a way bigger loss of major resources if you dont have a steady source of them. the only advantage to custom turrets is the massive firepower they have until they get hit and fail
when i have guns on ships and rovers i always set one gun to weapons and one to propulsion if i got more guns i stagger them between both that way all my guns shooting weapons and propulsion at same time
I played this one through and enjoyed it. just a pitty other than scrapyard there hasn't really been any other Scenarios that's good to play. i tried my self making one but didn't not get around to finish making it.

Artillery cannon ammo is cheaper And it shoots every 12 instead of every 15 And it does 17,000 damage instead of 8,000 And railgun shots can get deflected, artillery can not Also, one small grid block gets hit once the turret is broken, the artillery turret is much more durable Just so you know in the future
Nope. Not for me. How much of my stuff have you watched now? You should know efficiency is not my highest concern. I’ll never be a min/maxer. It was fun! I had turrets for everything else already and I had a shit load of ammo I liberated from G Corp. It is good to know that if I am worried about efficiency that rail gun is not the way to go though. 🫡
