That “TERRAIN, TERRAIN, TERRAIN, PULL UP” alarm in the intro was a perfect touch, loved that! Always haunting to hear an alarm system calmly telling you you’re about to experience rapid unplanned disassembly lol

i loved this scenerio. Ended up digging out the crashed ship and made a vehicle out of it. gawd that took some time LOL
I played through this myself alone years back, it was really cool to have objectives and hand placed stuff to explore, it's a shame space engineers is heavily lacking in the scenario department considering how much cool stuff can be made in it
is it a workshop one or is it a base game i cant seem to find it
@@jimeff134 it's a workshop scenario, it should come up just from searching "escape from Mars"
Remember, Mars does have a very miniscule amount of o2 in atmo... Vent on decompress will get you o2
It feels a bit weird you can do that...but oh well
@@Misteri0123 Suspending disbelief we can pretend there is analog to MOXIE in SE vents that allows extracting small amount of oxygen from CO2 in Mars atmosphere.
I mean.. fair enough, lmao
NASA has drawings and plans for inflatable habitations where they refill them with Martian atmosphere and plants.
Plants which consumed quite a large amount of carbon from the air causing them to deflate as time went by then they would be refilled with more Martian atmosphere and the purified gas moved on to a second inflatable structure with different plants to clear out more of the gases

Hey cool colab! Andrewman Gaming's Economy Only playthrough convinced me to take a closer look at part of the game I had ignored.
I love this scenario. Played it years ago with a friend but never got past the next base you will encounter. So much fun. The programmer did so many awesome things that became standard in SE afterwards. I'm looking forward to playing it again now.

consider using the Ice Mine as your early base given it has the Ice you need.
consolidate everything together and grind down the wreck and rebuild the Medbay at the mine.
fortify and establish your presence
I second the ice mine base.
Rebuild the turrets, making them with modern technology (custom turret controller if possible) and add surface-to-air missile turrets courtesy of Automatons.
Rebuild the medbay, etcetera. Maybe even add hangar doors when you learn that.
Also has the batteries for powering the medbay and recharging the rover.

I remember seeing a different video yesterday or the day before that seemed like it was going to be the start of a new series, and then it was removed. (he hadn't gotten very far or covered anything that most of us haven't seen already, he was just getting started) but I guess there was a change of plans. Lol. This does seem more exciting and more produced. And I love co-op stuff
For some reason it was interesting to see that happen. It's like a lost pilot episode.

As you seem to have noticed, the key to finding new blocks by hacking is programmable blocks, (they are standing in as data storage).
When working out the power needed for wheels remember that you will almost never get even close to the max power draw. In his Scrapyard testing, Splitsie was able to cripple his much larger crane rover home on two hydrogen engines even needing to crank wheel power up and activate the trailer wheels to climb a hill.
a warm feeling of nostalgia with this one, not gonna lie though. When the memories came rushing back i couldnt help but think, "they're gonna die so much" xD
also, it could be considered cheese, so take with a grain of salt and do with it what you will. but at least in the original mod by duckroll himself those lights in the tunnels where small reactors strapped to the back of small grid spotlights and just embedded in the voxel
I’m actually really excited for this season. Having a friend really adds a layer of depth
I love this mod. It really forces you to be inventive in how you create with the reliance on salvage.

I love this scenario My bro and i usually dig the escape pod out of the ground and fit wheels to it and it's a ready made mobile base ! PS just make sure to cut out the floor and reinstall once you've gotten rid of the rocks otherwise when you convert to ship KABOOM lol

This was originally before the physics refactor, yes. Also, the default settings on wheels are nowhere near as bad as they used to be. Heh, the first time I did this, I dug the wreck out, added 2 wheels to it, and gave it a long tail for skid steering. It worked. It wasn't pretty, but it worked.
It's too bad the turret blew it up, that was a forklift.
Oh this was cool. Fun first episode, definitely looking forward to more.

You know Kanajashi might need to unlearn his survivalkit-age knowledge. Before that this scenario was based on nuclear reactors. And as it happens, there was some uranium in his inventory at some point. Maybe reactor components too?
Yes. The scenario was made before small batteries existed.
So the only power option was small grid small reactors.
I decided to leave the components to enable small battery at the start because it is what people are used to now.
I would love to see more of this series please
I remember playing this scenario, never finished it myself but I got pretty far. I took over one of the old homesteads and made it my base for launching raids on the convoys.
I actually captured the real big rocket in this a few years back! :)
Perhaps digging the crashed section out and making it into a rover/mobile base is a good idea? Take your respawn location with you?
Tbh, you should scrap everything down to ingots and only transport those. You should pipe up the other cargo onboard here throw a solar on it and leave it as a mini base. Toss a connector on the crashed ship to pull power and yer golden. A single solar wont do much but enough to keep it online at least. Toss 2 turrets on the o2's for defense and one on the crashed ship :D Otherwise enjoying the series so far.
Been ages since I played that scenario, it was quite fun.
On your comment with awwscrap I highly recommend not using it in this scenario since you do not get access to refineries or a survival kit
They'd get real acquainted with Miko though.

Did they get the land delivery transports fixed? I know there was an issue with them after one of SE's updates because they were using frictionless wheels. Fun scenario to run. You could always turn the crashed ship into a big rover. ;)
Still love this scenario. Technically I need to complete it myself as I managed to salvage the freighter and used it to get to orbit and thus never took on the main HQ.

Hey great video! Im new to SE, im curious i see your HUD/UI is all nice and colorful, from your health, O2, Power, H2 levels right down to the correct colors for the metals in your inventory. I only have a basic light blue color for everything. How do you get this nice color code?
