I have this system and I put a 7 pin female plug in front of Rv and connected just the brown wire to + and white to - to the plug, put a switch on the + line to bedroom, put the monitor in there, plugged in the Rv power cord in to the plug I installed, now I have a great security system with night vision

I think you installed the side markers reversed. If the antenna was going up then the hole would be facing down to drain moisture.
    But I could be wrong.
    Nice review.

There are holes on both the top and bottom. A design flaw in my opinion as windy rain and spray from the truck tires on wet roads is going to get forced inside the fixture from above or below. The OEM lenses don't have drain holes. See the comparison - www.loveyourrv.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/OEM-verus-Haloview-scaled.jpg
Water may find its way inside the RV sidewall and lead to rot, fiberglass delaminating or mold. So I feel it best to seal the holes. I gather the idea of the holes from talking to Haloview was to provide option for wiring outside the lens. Cheers, Ray

Hello again it's been a while since I made a comment but I have been checking in every once in a while to stay up to date on you folks. It seems you are doing fairly well dealing with all that is going on with the world right now, I'm glad to see! Sorry to hear you won't be traveling south this year but I kind of expected it would be a problem. This camera system looks like it might be a keeper. Waiting to see your comments after using it a bit. Just a note though when you were cleaning that putty off for the install. I'm not sure how it will work on it but I have found that WD 40 is a good cleaner for many things. Takes glue and price stickers off, it works great for an emergency hand cleaner with grease and tons of other uses for so many things as well as a lube. Just a hint you may find handy some time. LOL I use it for the other stuff more than as a lubricant to be honest. Take care of yourselves and stay warm this winter. As always a faithful follower John

Ray, another superb video sir! Are you able to name the cameras? The wiring harness is for turning on the cameras when the turn signal is on so when that is active does that camera dominate the screen? Could you have 1/2 side camera and 1/2 rear camera? Very interesting and the record feature is very intriguing!

Please reconsider your use of silicon adhesives. Silicon does not stick to itself, so unless you use acetone to clean the surface, the old and new layers of silicon will NOT self adhere... aka leaks. Great coverage of an interesting topic othewise.

I generally use Geocel RV Proflex sealant not silicone to replace the OEM silicone or in some applications SikaFlex 291 as they work well, last long, and are easy to come by. www.geocelusa.com/product/pro-flex-rv-flexible-sealant/ "Resealable; may be applied over itself"
I always make sure to fully clean the surface of the old sealant., I find lighter fluid works well. Acetone does too but you have to watch it around plastics. In the case of these fixtures, they have their own rubber gaskets so no need to use a sealant around them. Cheers, Ray

@@LoveYourRV I had to replace one of the bigger 8" diameter scare lites a couple of years ago. It had 1 hole and was installed with the hole at the top. The inside was rusted with a high tide mark of rust. So I got a stainless version and installed it hole down.
      I'd fill the top holes
I prefer Dicor over silicone and also use the putty roll to bed things to the trailer side.
There is a plastic bodyshop tool which would get off the silicone. I have xtras, I could mail you one.. I have the red and silver slim jims but don't use them on fibreglass.. I'd round off the corners to prevent accidentally gouging the glass.
Also will watch the vid re skirting. I'm planning to use the old 47" white slidetopper material. Seems thicker than EZ Snaps. Will use finishing washers and screws in the trailer lateral ine and the Velcro in other locations. The 47" allows me to angle out the fabric over the water tap and sewer dump.
To keep thing from freezing, I'll use a couple of pieces of re bar or metal pipe/tubing and wrap them with heat tape with the built in thermometer/ switch. The switch will be jus outside the skirting. Both will be blocked up a few inches.off the ground.
Circulation will be done by 4 usb fans from Castle Building supplies. 2 on the left rear and 2 at the right front to prevent stalling.. Cost so far is about 200$ nic pipe, fans andheat tape. My water hose is already heated.

The porch light works off the regular porch light power. If I wanted the other cameras on when unhooked from the truck I need to put a fuse between two pins on the 7 pin cable to connect the 12V RV power to the marker lights - i.pinimg.com/originals/53/f6/6f/53f66f219d6102ba441211162db44a34.jpg I think they may sell a gadget that plugs onto the end as well with a switch.

@@1951Roy Talked to Haloview and explained the issue and my rep talked to the engineers. I told them that water could be forced into the hole even from below when driving on wet roadways with the tire spray, plus maybe heavy windy rain. I gather from them the holes are there as an option to use external wires and they agree with me that it would be best to seal the fixture and glad that I pointed it out, though in a year they haven't heard of any problems reported. Here is a pic I took comparing the Haloview with my OEM fixture, you can see it provides a path for water to get into the RV sidewall - www.loveyourrv.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/OEM-verus-Haloview-scaled.jpg The water could lead to rot or mold or maybe even delamination of the fiberglass. The only difference is your house doesn't roll down the road at freeway speeds. I think that's why the Haloview is still using 720P resolution to keep the file size down for wireless transfer. Motion makes a big difference as a lot less video compression can take place since each frame of the video has new pixels to deal with versus home security that basically has the same image and just the person or object to update.

While our Haloview can record 4 cameras at the same time, you just couldn't record the quad screen. That means when you record in quad mode, the videos of the 4 cameras will be recorded separately. Haloview guys told me that the images is compressed when in quad mode, the video files be stored into every single file according to each camera.

How about they advertise 1080, except it doesn't record in 1080 if you have all 4 cameras recording, the actual recording is more like 480.
It WILL Not loop record, the memory card has to be reformatted to be able to record over it, which means you have ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA when it stops recording wile you're driving.
This thing is ONLY good for a backup camera (not recording) and thats it.
You email their customer service about it and they want your order number the date and time you ordered it and your name before they can even answer simple questions.
I told them it was not recording and they actually wanted me to send them video of it NOT recording.......how exactly do you do that?

@@skyeram For this model system, they advertise 720P, which you get for recording on one camera. It is true that when recording multiple cameras the resolution drops quite a bit.
