UPDATE (July 2021): We've had a few questions on the torque values we mention in the video.
I got them from the RVAirflow document here: cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/041...
It cites Coleman manufacturing as the source…
However, looking at www.airxcel.com/DesktopModule... it just says, "Proper tension has been achieved for each bolt when any portion of each gasket indicating tab has been pulled down even with the roof. See Figure 4. The upper unit has now been properly installed with optimum gasket compression.”
Our take: Use your best judgment. If the torque value seems too high, revert to the instructions from AirXCel.

I'm continuously amused by the severe lack of engineering / design of these RV manufacturers and their vendors. They build cheap crap knowing fully that its garbage and then 3rd party companies (like the inventor of this product) actually design something that WORKS and we have to then spend more $$$$. It's absolutely amazing. I guess that's what makes the economy continue to work. Either way, you always have the BEST reviews and install vids AND the best bloopers! Appreciate you both.
The RV industry is a joke. There are no standards and they have a bunch of minimum wage guys throwing these things together as fast as possible to make their quotas to make their bonuses. Most QC is poor as well. I know 2 people that worked for Monaco coach here in Oregon and they both said nobody really cared about quality. It was just getting them out ASAP.
@@uowebfoot you're not kidding...it really is about how quick they roll them off the production lines. But, it's not just RV's, it's new homes too. We just bought a new home (almost done being built) and these builders don't give two shits about quality. There's no pride in workmanship anymore in this country on anything...very sad.
If they built to higher standards the average buyer would not pay the significantly higher cost, since the average RV buyer only looks at only the floor plans, colors etc. Often what makes a better or higher quality unit is not readily seen or touched. The RV market is highly competitive. Further they know that for those RVers who appreciate quality will make improvements through the after market.
@@hermes6587 Your point is somewhat valid. However, my father has owned several RV Bus Motorhomes well over 100K in price and they fall apart just as bad. So high price does not mean better quality.

My wife and I looked at a home built in 1957 and it had everything top of the line from that era. Everything was like brand new and bullet proof.
Wow this is awesome! We have been making our own version of this for years and it is nice to see a company that address the need for this. Thank you for showing the testing numbers and results because that mean a lot to us! You guys are awesome. Thank you.
You guys always have the greatest advice and information. Thanks for all you do. I have a 2020 260RD and had this installed at the Vegas GD rally just before things shut down. I only have the one rear unit and could feel the difference right away. Being in AZ, it does make a big difference cooling the unit!! Would recommend to anyone. Keep up the great work and great videos. Stay safe!
The outtakes show just how much work and prep goes into one of these reviews.
Thank you both for all your hard work that probably at times seems like play.
Safe travels and God Bless...
Wow, I’ll have to try this. 40% improvement in air flow! That’s awesome! Thanks you all. Loving it as always. 😁Spoiler alert!😎
Ordered with your discount! This was a great improvement over what we had. Anywhere in the RV, you can feel the AC blowing now. Thanks for the video!
Awesome job, very straight forward video on the installation. I am a HVAC guy and am totally impressed. We also have a Momentum with 3 units, living mostly in Texas and that will really help.
Awesome!! Any improvement in AC is worth the cost and I've said it before - and like I've said before, every time I watch one of your videos Chad it costs me a couple of Benjamins - but totally worth it EVERY time!!!! Thanks for letting us all know about this, I'm ordering as soon as I finish typing. Safe travels!
You guys have really done a great job with explaining the important elements and paying attention to measurable details. I was tweaking my ac due to the obvious design flaws. This is the best option. My dad was a mechanical engineer and he always said you can't beat an engineer with a pair of pliers. Time and money saved here for sure. Thanks!
Army here also wanted to say that you are a great teacher not to many people have that!
Thank you! Discount code covers shipping and a little extra! Appreciate the fact that you both worked on this to collect & analyze the actual installation. 40% airflow removes need for second A/C...at 15% of the price of another unit!
Great video! I put them in our 2021 Momentum 397TH and love the difference. Confession, I put them in the bedroom and main A/C back in August. I finally got around to doing the garage last Saturday.
Installed this upgrade a couple of weeks ago and we just had temps high enough for a day or two to try it out. The increased air movement is wow!! Makes the window shades move a little. Started with an 84 degree inside temp and after about 45 minutes it was down to 77 and cycling properly. It will be well worth the cost. We have a 2nd unit in the bedroom that we run during the day on Hot days with a small fan on the dresser moving air into the living area which helps. The big change will be at night when we only run the main unit. Now the bedroom will be easier to cool with the increased air movement. The one thing I found during installation was after centering the a/c unit I still had a small space between the sides and the duct opening. I added a thin foam strip around the opening on the insert and it fit nice and snug. If you have a ducted unit that this upgrade applies to by all means get it.
I'm a newbie RVrd and you guys explain everything so cool, simple and detailed. Thanks! And God bless you always 💖💖
Been binging you guys backwards cuz I started watching ya late n am loving going back. I’m addicted now. ❤️❤️
I just wanted to write my first comment to you both and thank you from the bottom of my heart for your all your videos. I am receiving my AirFlow units in a few days and can’t wait to get them installed. I am just a single guy, full time in my 351M and winter in Arizona and summer in Wisconsin. I have followed your advice and recommendations for more things then I can count, including removing my rear benches and making that a wrap around desk since I work from home as well (Network Administrator). You both are amazing at your thoroughness and detailed descriptions that take pretty much any questions out of not only how to do it, but if it’s worth investing in it. And you always make it fun to watch as well. Thank you again so very much, and I hope one day our paths will cross!
Just installed the RV Airflow System. Straight forward installation and the airflow increase is as advertised! Thanks for the discount, it's worth every penny.
Installed mine last weekend at the Texas Un-Rally. Richard and Joanne are wonderful people and very helpful. True RVers not just there to sale participated in all of the events.
I know this is an old video but it is by far the best one. I just installed mine and your video had EVERY question I had, answered. Thanks for the discount also. Hope to see you guys out there
I have a new 5rh wheel and I just installed one thanks to your video. My wife and I are going camping for the first time this weekend (in our new one). We haven't even ran the AC yet so we won't have a baseline to compare it to... We're taking your word for it. Thanks for the great video.
Installed this product last week and EXCELLENT improved airflow. I did have spacing problems with the vertical divider so I totally eliminated this on my Dometic unit. So I just have the bracket with the long lag bolts. Thank you for the video. It gave me the know how and confidence to do it myself.
Thank you for this video. Glad you did this video. It helps us to know what to do and how to fix the air duct flow. It was good seeing daisy too at the end. She is a cute puppy.
Stay safe and see you soon!
Being an HVAC tech I installed sheet metal scoops. doubled my air flow
Can you send me pics please?
Thank you! I watched your installation video and had my AC ready to go when the package arrived. I had it installed in about 40 minutes. The only problem I had was sliding the foam into place because it was very tight around the plastic duct inserts. Mixed up some dish washing liquid, put a light coating on both the foam and the inserts and it just slid right in. Perfect! Buttoned it up and ready for the big test.
I have a wind meter and before the install I measured between 7 -9 mph at both ends of my trailer from the ceiling vents. After the install I measured between 18 and 21mph! So breezy it blew the install sheet right off the table! Now my wife is worried it will be getting too cold in the trailer with the AC on.
My RV is a 30 foot Starcraft Autumn Ridge 266RKS travel trailer with a 15k Coleman Air Conditioner. Can’t wait for the summer heat to really try it out. Used your discount code and saved a few bucks. Love watching all of your videos!

Just installed those in our Reflection. Holy crap what a difference. We were instantly able to feel how much more air it moves. Did not disappoint!
Just installed and literally blown away. Well worth the price and install was a piece of cake. 1000% recommend.
We just bought a Grand Design 2670MK and I was thinking about installing this as an early upgrade. When I opened up the cover to look at my AC box, I noticed that it was already installed. Looking at the website in the link, Grand Design started installing these at the factory in June and I can attest that this is true. Happy surprise!
I installed this on my last two RV's and is amazing. The difference in air flow is tremendous. Cools faster and much quieter. I would recommend.
Really great informational video. Gonna look into getting one for our motorhome. Recently I lined the units with Reflectix and retaped which did help. This item looks to be a game changer.......BOOM !!!
Chad did an excellent job explaining how this all works.
Thank you. Their video plus your explanation maid much easier to install. EDIT: Oh and on the filter for the A/C that is a great idea, but let me share something quick. On my home A/C (before we full timed) , I got a MERV 10 or 12 , something super filter from 3M, it actually burnt the fan up. It was so dense that it forced the motor too much. I don't know if that could happen on a RV A/C, but maybe something to check with the manufactured. See how much up in MERV we can go?
This product went through extensive testing to get certified with coleman, where they tested for any kind of increased resistance to airflow, etc... So, I feel confident about the product itself. Of course it is possible to restrict more with a higher fiter. I tested the MERV 6 and they flow just as well as the stock screen filter. MERV 10 might be a whole other story. I'd contact coleman to see the highest they recommend...
Check the spec's on your HVAC unit, mine states a max of MERV 10 or damage to the blower motor may result, so I use #8
Thanks Chad.
I just ordered mine.
I told them I heard about their product on your channel and I got 15% off!
Thanks guys!
Simple yet efficient, great idea! If I were wanting to upgrade just one unit I’d probably pull the trigger now, but for 3 AC’s, my electric heat upgrade takes priority 💪 haha
Thanks for the vid!
Thanks for this video, very informative. We do enjoy watching y'all.💖
Installed it before it got hot here in NE Ohio. Last year our Coleman A/C used to have to run almost continuously on high fan mode when the temps were in the 90's. And, we'd have to run the bedroom A/C to knock the temp down before bed. Now with this installed our A/C runs for a few minutes at a time, at low setting, on even the hottest days. And, we haven't had to run the bedroom A/C at all! Also, it now blows so hard-even on low setting-that it blows the dogs hair around while she's laying on the floor! Awsome product!
Thank you guys, used the promo code and it worked great. Cannot wait to install it. Your video sold me on this product as I knew the way these were set up made them inefficient and killed airflow out of the vents. Thanks again!
We just spent the weekend in Quartzsite, Arizona, where the temperature was 85 degrees on Friday and Saturday. This was our first trip where we could do a real world test with the RV Airflow installed in our Coleman Mach 15k AC. Prior to the install it took quite awhile to reach the set temp on the thermostat once we plugged into shore power. It was 85 outside and 81 inside when I first powered up the trailer. I set the thermostat to 76 degrees and within 30 minutes the AC shut down and the inside was a cool 76 degrees. That's never happened that quick before.
During the day when the AC restarted it only ran a few minutes before it reached the set temp and shut down. It has never done that before either. It used to run quite awhile before reaching the set temp. It also seemed to run a lot quieter because when it ran we didn't have to turn up the volume on the TV like we did before.
Needless to say we are both impressed with the great improvement. It works better than we expected and so glad we found this video! Best mod I have made to my trailer since new!
Installed yesterday and let me tell you! WOW!! Turned on the ac after install and it blew out so much construction debris from all the vents. 100% worth it. For reference I have two Coleman Mach 15 Air-conditioners on a Arctic Wolf 3770 Suite 43 foot. Thanks for the 15% off too !!
Excellent explanation of the product. I had one installed last year at the Grand Design rally in Quartsite and have been very happy we did. Great people that own the company. Fives stars on the product.
Bob, please contact us, either email info@rvairflowsystems.com or call (574)536-4949. Thx!
Wow!!! When someone comes up with a idea/product such as this, the RV industry should embrace it and ensure ALL rigs have this. I know u guys said that GD has implemented this into the center AC, but unsure on what units. Come in RV industry, lets get into the 21st century!!! Love you guys content in tutorials and adventures!!!!
Hey guys.... because of this video I purchased two of these for my AC units in my Jayco Seneca 37HJ.... love them. Thanks for the info!
Wow! What a great product! It makes total sense. And Chad your explanation was terrific.
This is a great addition. Yes, a little pricey, but this really works. I ordered one a while back and just installed on the front a/c. It will be nice to be able to run the front a/c and push most of the air towards the living area. 15,000 btu a/c puts out way too much air in the small bedroom. Ordered 2 more. Used the Changing Lanes link and CHANGINGLANES discount code. Thanks Chad. Another great video.
One installation tip: When inserting the unit and it seems to get stuck, remove it and use a solution of dishwashing liquid and water to coat the foam and the outside edge of the duct covers, the re-insert. Makes it a lot easier.
I worked with the RV airflow folks back in July to create the first device for an Arctic Fox Fifth Wheel back in July. Definitely helped!
I have a 2020 arctic fox 32-5m. D0 you have to order specifically for your brand of unit?
@@jeffward7502 i don’t know, sorry. I suggest you Contact them. The question is If the plenums are identical for the 29-5 (mine) and your 32-5. They will know if anyone else has installed it on the 32-5. If not it is real easy to take a few measurements and find out. They can help you with this. Let me know if you additional assistance. Good luck. Love the 32-5. That is the model I wanted to get. But I’m happy with mine.
Wow! Looks like a great little upgrade! Wish I would have thought of it!! I could’ve got a couple Indian motorcycles and a new RV!! Awesome job of explaining the RV AC and it’s shortcomings. Thanks for sharing!!!!!
Always enjoy learning from you guys😎 Thanks for providing practical instructions...love your channel ❤
You two always have good information! If I need any information about maintenance stuff on my toy hauler, I just look to see what Chad has done.
Great job guys! Love your videos! Extremely informative and helpful.
I normally don’t post comments, but thank you this looks great. Can’t wait to try them out.
excellent install and demo video, I full-time in FL, and my A/C has been struggling in recent heat waves, will def get this.
These are legit! Thank you! Our AC works so much better now!
Great job! I learn so much every time I watch your videos.
So your video was one that helped me decide to add 3 of these to our 351M. Well...We just spent a week at Lake Havasu in 114 temps and the trailer maintained 74 the whole time! Great product!
AWESOME!!! 😀
Great video and well presented, but unfortunately @ $175 each it's not for me, I purchased supplies at Lowe's and did both of mine for less than $20
Been watching you kids for a few years now and just wanted to tell you we just bought a new Grand Design Reflection 5th wheel and they are NOW installing the RV Airflow in the AC units. I took mine apart to check before I ordered one, and WOW it is already installed. Makes a HUGE difference in the cooling and air flow.
👍
I've been a lurking watcher for a while now. This EXCELLENT video got y'all a subscription and a like. FANTASTIC job. Very well done. I had zero questions and I will be purchasing this for my Rockwood 8311. thank you so much.
Thanks for watching! 😊 Welcome to our channel!
This is awesome. I will be purchasing and it will be one of the first mods for 2021 cooling/camping season.
We’ve sold our RV but still enjoy your videos.
Air Conditioning performance is all about air flow. Great product!
I enjoy your videos and all you tips and information and positive energy thank you 🙏🏻❤️I recently purchased a Laredo fifth wheel prepping for a cross county trip hope to see you out there safe travels 🤙🏻
I have to go and see if ours is capable. I loved the spoiloiler alert and the doggy RV boring you. Good job again guys.
just found this.... we are now in Houston and this is a must have, not a need. or atleast this is how Im saying it to the wife.
yall rock! thank you
I didn't even know there was a middle piece in the AC duct area. After watching this video I opened up both of mine and sure enough that center divider had fallen over in each one. I put them back in place and now I have about a 50 percent improvement in airflow through my air ducts! Now I can close the dump vents for a cooler RV and it's quieter! I am definitely getting the RV airflow system and see how much more it will improve!
Just ordered my rv airflow! Thank you for the discount code and the excellent video!
Tis is an incredibly well done video.
@Changing Lanes: Just wanted to say "Thank you!" for doing this video. I have a 2020 Grand Design Reflection 150 5th wheel (about 32ft long or so) and am a full-timer in an RV park in Florida...so even though my unit is brand new with a 15K Mach 10 in the main area and a 13.5K Mach 10 in the bedroom, they still struggled to keep it cool this summer without me having to run them all the time and typically lowering the thermostats to 48-50 degrees just to get the room temps below 74 for a comfortable amount of time. Anyways...after your video I went on the RV Airflow site and ordered 2 units. Thank you for the 10% discount code also! :)
Ordered them on the 27th, and they arrived yesterday afternoon. Thanks also to your video for recommending the Wheeler torque wrench to get the torque correct on the 4 big bolts. I also ordered that on the 27th and it showed up 2 days later, so I was ready to get to it yesterday as soon as the Airflows arrived.
I did the living room 15K system in about and hour and 20 minutes w/ minimal issues like getting the 2 big bolts to line up again once the Airflow was inserted...no big deal though, and I feel real good knowing those bolts are torqued properly again to 50 pounds.
I then did the bedroom unit in about the same amount of time, basically due to one of the bolts fighting me to line up and thread properly, but again, no biggee and the job was complete.
I had no way to test airflow before and after other than just by "feel" with my hands at the vents, etc. But I am writing to let everyone know that these things work big time! My rig was about 75 degrees after finishing installation and then I cranked up both units. The airflow out of the vents was like a tornado compared to before, so right away I knew these things increased airflow as advertised. My single ceiling vent in the bathroom was closed and the airflow was so strong the air was making a screaming sound from the air being pushed through the closed vent so powerfully. That never happened before.
I could also tell immediately that the air coming out was much colder than before. So I turned off the bedroom unit and just tested with the living room. Normally, with only using my living room unit when the rig was at 74 or 75 degrees and putting the unit on High setting down to 48 degrees or so, it would still not be able to cool the room down more than just a degree or 2 on its own. So I always had to use both systems at the same time to get the living room to drop down to 68 to 70 degrees with both units on High cranked way down. That would usually take 15mins or so.
Well that's all changed now. I cranked the 15K down to just 55 on High and it dropped the living room temp down to 66 degrees in about 12 mins all on its own without using the bedroom unit!!!!
That proves it right there. When I ran both units on High they turned this place into an icebox in no time at all. I got it down to 63 degrees and was freezing my tail off, but that proved how much more strong and efficient the units are now with the Airflows installed.
People may think these are a little expensive...but the 10% discount certainly helped out. And also, I would estimate they will easily pay for themselves over time because I can already tell I won't be running my units as long anymore which will definitely decrease the monthly electricity bill.
Anyways...that was a quick, easy, painless modification that works amazingly well. This is how A/C units should now come from the factory. Slam dunk upgrade!!!
Just wanted to let everyone know how well these work. You do a terrific channel and I watch all time since finding it several months ago. Thanks again for this and all your other videos!
That's awesome!!! We hadn't even considered the electric savings for those on monthly or seasonal sites! So glad they're working well for you!
@@ChangingLanes yeah, since I'm in Tampa and have had to work from my RV full-time since the you know what happened, I've had to run the A/C's all day all summer long. Luckily, my RV park is full of nice big oak trees, so I'm totally shaded, but it's the humidity that gets ya down here ;-)
Wish I had found out about these things about 6 months ago, because I'm sure my monthly electric bill would have been greatly reduced. I think I'm averaging about 100 bucks a month or so, give or take maybe 10 to 12 bucks I guess. But I'm anticipating that to drop at least 10 to 15 per month thanks to this upgrade.
One other recent thing to note for anyone reading this. After the installation the other day, my living room unit started making a rattling vibration like a fast "ticking" sound when it would turn on. I put up with it for a couple days, and when I would push my hand up on the shroud or ceiling plate it still wouldn't stop ticking. So yesterday I took out the filter cover and filter on the side the ticking sound was coming from, and that exposed the big through-bolt on that corner of the unit. When I pushed up on the metal frame where that bolt was the ticking vibration would stop.
I only cranked those through-bolts to about 47 or 48 pounds with that Wheeler torque driver just to leave a little room for error. So I grabbed the driver and adjusted it to 50 pounds and gave that bolt a few cranks to 50 pounds and bingo...no more annoying ticking sound!!!
Luckily that particular bolt was the cause/cure of the vibration and I didn't have to remove the shroud to get at a bolt on the covered up side (towards the rear of the RV side).
So anyways...if anyone installs these and uses the torque driver for the big bolts (which I also highly recommend), and if you leave a little room for error under the 50 pound setting and then hear a bit of a vibration, try to isolate which bolt(s) that might need a pound or two more tightening and hopefully it will take care of the vibration.
The bedroom unit was also torqued to like 47/48 pounds but it has no vibration and even sounds a bit quieter than before this upgrade. I also still can't get over the amount of force both units have now. It's like a TORNADO in here now when they're both running, and they cool this thing down twice as fast as before.
Like I said before...they may seem kind of expensive...but for full-timers who want to reduce your electric bill and make these systems run more efficiently and COLDER, they will be worth the cost, because you will definitely reduce your electric bill each month and they will pay for themselves over time for sure.
This was awesome!!! Thanks Chad & Tara for the video review!!!We have a Forest River Rockwood 5th wheel, so it doesn’t look like they have one yet for our model but we will be watching their website very very closely because we definitely want this product!!!
Lisa, contact us at info@rvairflowsystems.com or call us at (574)536-4949. I believe we tested a Rockwood a few weeks ago.
Here's a way to take some of the frustration out of getting the lag bolts lined up. Buy yourself threaded rod and cut it into two pieces. Install the rods in opposing corners put the box up with two of the lag bolts in the other holes. Then replace the rods with the other two lag bolts.
Good tip!
That would be a great addition to the kit.
Ordered one for my Mach 3 Plus. Thanks for the discount code!
I love the little break there where dog is positioned “to watch from your silk pillow” lol!
"LOUD NOISES." I love lamp. Chad, trying to identify your obscure movie quotes during outtakes has become an egg hunt. Great stuff.
That is really cool. 😎 I wish we knew about that for our other TT.
We now have a Ceader Creek 5th Wheel - 388RK. Our AC does not have that kind of intake. This makes it so much more efficient and no noise. Our last TT AC was like the one you're showing. It was so loud we could hardly hear each other talk.
Great topic. Will be looking into this upgrade in the spring.
I love your channel. Your upgrades are great. Love the mo ride before and after video.
Great informative video! It's amazing the difference this invention makes. We loved ours on our 2021 5th wheel and when our new 2022 arrives, I will install them if it doesn't have them. Safe travels yall!
Recently installed in our GD Solitude 390RK and had a few 90+ days to check it out. I felt cool air flow in areas I hadn't felt before. Totally awesome they work great !
Great to hear!
You guys are the best. Love your outtakes. My camper is currently 81^F and its only gotten up to 89^F outside. I was going to purchase some foam board today and fabricated something similar but it looks like I need to spend the money to capitalize on this engineers great product.
OMG! You were cutting with blade towards your hand! I have had to take too many people to ER when knife slipped in that situation! They didn't think it would happen to them either. So yes, I raised and Eagle scout, but that was scary to me!
Yes Daisy time is also important! You know she is really the star of the show! LMBO!
I cringed watching him cut the plastic with the blade facing the wrong way, was waiting for the thumb amputation!
Great video! You guys really explained the hole process. Thank you and keep it up!
great video thanks just ordered the airflow. werner the v twin biker from vermont. you two are one of the best .
Hi guys. Small correction.
You're confusing "high side" and "low side" with the correct terms, "supply" and "return".
The high and low sides refer to the refrigeration circuit high pressure side and low pressure sides.
They don’t like it when someone corrects them . You didn’t get a ❤️
That was a little confusing, I must say.
Thanks for that. I was confused too. Seems rather expensive for that bit of foam and plastic. But the video sure helps and tells me I need to look up there in my new RV to make sure all is the best it can be until I figure out a home made solution to making it more efficient.
@@mojotrinity4927 At least they didn't delete his comment like they did mine when I gave them a compliment but chewed out someone.
Just now saw this. You're right. It's "conditioned air" after all, and it's got to be "conditioned" before it's "supplied" to your living space, and then "returned" to be conditioned again. 'Low' and 'high' pressure just muddies the water.
THX for the PSA on torque wrenches. I calibrate them and a personal pet peeve is clicker torque wrenches not set to minimum. The internal spring develops a memory when kept compressed for long periods of time.
Great idea I wish my a/c was the vented type so we could try it ps Daisy needs subtitles above her head so we would know what she’s thinking cause sometimes she’s probably wondering what y’all are up to now
One of your best videos guys. Really have learned more from your videos than any others online. Thanks,
Ah, thanks!
Thx CL for excellent video production with a interesting product review and install and most importantly accurate evaluation. Having spent some yrs. in getting an education and working in HVAC trade and facility management I found that air flow and balance to design requirements is often comprimised with lack of quality intrumentation, incompetence and shortcuts to meet bid $$$ and schedule resulting increased life cycle cost in energy, maintenance, and poor system performace for the system owner. Job well done CL. Go Navy.
Great video/info! My ac struggles on hot/humid mid-Atlantic days. Hoping this (and proper ac maintenance) are the answer.
Just installed this modification this morning after suffering through 100(+) heat this summer. After watching your video and a few others the installation was a snap. Without measurements I believe the air flow has increased at least 50% and the RV is much, much cooler. A must for RV owners. Thanks for your channel and great instruction!
Great to hear! Thanks for sharing your experience! 😊
You two put out the best tech videos. 👍👍
Excellent video. We have a new 2022 Reflection 28BH manufactured in August 2021. Grand Design did a fairly good job with the AC install. I first thought that our single 15,000 BTU Coleman AC unit had the original design, but it actually does have the new plenum box. However, it was poorly installed. There were a few vents that had very little airflow, I could hear turbulence in the system, and the system didn't cool as well as expected. When I took things apart I found that the duct openings didn't fully align with the openings in the Styrofoam box, and the rubber gaskets were all pushed out of place so the seals were less than perfect. There were also several large gaps in the raceway duct openings. I metal taped the gaps in the duct work, fixed the rubber gaskets, and carefully aligned all the openings during re-installation. There was a significant airflow improvement and less noise from air turbulence. Chad, you did a wonderful job explaining and measuring the system and flow improvements. Thanks!
Watched another guy too, where he cut out all the vent slats in the ac cover on the roof and replaced them with wire mesh. That alone made a huge difference in his cooling ability. Combined, this would be amazing!
GREAT videos, explained things very, very well. We unfortunate only have 1 A/C unit in our 40ft travel trailer and with only 30amps unable to add another. So, hopefully this will help!
I've been RVing full-time for about 3 years looking how to improve the efficiency of the AC. Haven't watched your channel for a while, but I've always enjoyed your methodic approach. Being an engineer for 25 years. This is an awesome example of "KISS" can't wait to check it out and see if our system is compatible and I'm also wondering if I can restrict some of the vents from full port. Thanks for the video. Keep safe and have a good time !!!!
Can't believe I'm just seeing this! I've seen about a dozen of the blue foam board DIY's. Who'd have thunk--airflow should be aerodynamic. Love your channel!
Wow... Kathy & I are full-timers and have followed you guys for years. It's like you're part of our traveling family, haha : ) This episode (as many others) have really helped! We're heading over to get a couple of these new A/C things. Man, not only did you show how great it works and how easily installed it is, but you also went the extra mile to show the airflow differences! I loved that part. So, when are you heading west? We're in Az and would love to meet you both ; )
I love you guys ! I have a Daisy also but she’s 70 lbs . Keep informing us , thank you !
Another very helpful video. Thanks guys! Ride safe!
Excellent video. I certainly appreciate your thorough review. Keep up the good work!
Thank you for ALL of your videos!!
What a cool product. You gotta love it when Chad installs something new. Testing always follows! Spolleruhlurt- it worked! Tara, sometimes you are almost too much. Almost! 😉 So funny. Don’t see how Chad can ever be serious with you around. Y’all are such fun together. And the specs look good. You look like a co-ed going to class. I won’t tell anyone they’re actually for reading the instructions to Chad! 😜. Another awesome video guys. Troy
