      It's the room echo. They need to put more studio panels on the walls or get tighter range mics. Either that or they're using backup mics as Jeff Geerling pointed out below me.

      @michaeljones5681 3 роки тому +2

    • @JeffGeerling
      @JeffGeerling 3 роки тому +32

      I think on a recent video someone mentioned they had to use backup audio, and that's probably the case here too. In some sense, better than having to re-record the whole thing, but yeah, it sounds like an on-camera mic or a secondary boom mic or something.
      Also in theory territory, I'm thinking they record these videos in some sort of batch (e.g. record 3-5 at at time in a short period so the editor(s) can crunch through them)-and if they didn't record the main mic correctly on the first, then the rest will have the bad audio too.
      On the highest-production-value live sets, talent would often have *two* wireless lavs, plus at least one boom mic, so they'd have two good live sources, and one backup in case they need to come in for ADR later.
      LTT has upped its game lately, but things like the three+ good mic setup can be pricey and highly annoying for a more 'portable' / secondary set like the one they use for this channel. But maybe after this string of poor-sounding videos, someone will consider adding the equipment and process :D
      I just find it ironic the audio for a video about a $500 set of headphones has not-so-good-audio!

  • @Gorilla_Jones

    I've had this headset now for 3 weeks, here are my impressions compared to other gaming headsets I own and other high-end headsets that I own. For reference I own other high-end gaming headsets like the asteroid 50s, Lucid sound ls50s, etc. But I also own several high-end reference headphones including reference grados, sennheisers, and AKG K812s.
    The long and short of it is that these are the clearest sounding headphones you can possibly use for gaming by a long mile, anybody that says different is either hard of hearing or has an agenda and is lying. I'd say the audio quality on these rivals some of my wired cans.
    They're not the loudest, the Lucid sound headphones are easily doubly as loud but the lucids are nowhere near as clear, even though they're very good and acceptable to most people. The bang and olafson's also don't let you use Bluetooth and game audio at the same time which some might find unacceptable at this price point.
    When listening to music and using the B&O app you can really cater the sound to your liking and the sound stage is pretty good, not as good as something like open back grados but astonishingly good considering the size of the air cup and that they're closed off system.
    The B&O app works really well for gaming as well letting you cater the sound exactly the way you want it, this is where this headphone shines versus other options. The only other headphone that I can think of that rivals it somewhat is the Astro a50s and their PC based app. The Dolby Atmos integration with the B &Os is fantastic.
    An example, on checkmate in call of duty Cold war when I'm at point alpha I can literally hear people shuffling around inside the fuselage at point bravo! From a gaming standpoint this is astonishing, the clarity and directionality of the sound is pretty crazy. My scores have jumped up easily from 5 to 10 kills per game just because I can literally hear exactly where people are coming from.
    For single player gaming the headphones are fantastic, their clarity ability to not distort and directionality just bring you more into the game world. At $500 it was a tough pill to swallow, but after spending almost a month now with the headphones and then going back and forth between my entire collection I can easily say that they're worth every penny. Your mileage may vary of course depending on your economic situation.
    The headphones come with a version of the Dolby Atmos app specifically for these headphones and it's amazing. The way you can cater the sound, the chat versus game mix, and the pitch of each channel is fantastic. I found that even setting them on the console to movie it actually increases the volume.
    Remember that when you get the headphones you should download the B&O app, download the Dolby Atmos app on your Xbox, and then go into the Dolby Atmos app and set it to game. This will give you the best directionality but I found that if you said it to movie you still get pretty good directionality and it increases the volume of the headphone at least 10 decibels.
    The one big drawback that I saw with these headphones in my opinion is the lack of a boom mic. Even though your friends will be able to hear you just fine, you won't be able to hear yourself as clearly as if you had a boom mic, that's just a fact. You'll get used to it but anybody telling you it's just as good as a boom mic is lying, for instance the boom mic on my Lucid sounds is vastly superior. But even with this caveat they are amazing. Highly recommended.
    FYI, Linus is kind of a dipshit, it's understandable since his channel is so big now and there's so much free shit coming in that he doesn't have time to give everything a proper review. The Dolby Atmos app comes with the headphones you do not have to pay for it! Also the directionality of the headphones is outstanding the clarity is amazing, especially compared to other gaming headphones. Each game will obviously have their own sound engine, but the processing going on with the Dolby Atmos for headphones app and the directionality you can hear especially in games like call of duty will improve your scores, that's just the fact.
    If you want to watch an accurate review of these headphones and not linuses bullshit take that he can fit in between all the time he's counting his sweet sweet UA-cam revenue watch this video. ua-cam.com/video/Ri-I7y7DfUk/v-deo.html
    They're easily five times better than the Xbox cans, which sound like you're listening to audio with cotton stuffed in your ears and then wax over the cotton.

    • @RageQuitRQ
      @RageQuitRQ 2 роки тому +1

      @@alexsmith1207 Well it all depends on the sound you like. I would personally describe Sony headphones as sorta punchy with recessed mids. Some people love that. I would say the H95s sound fantastic but they are not neutral with balance. It leans towards being crystal clear so it takes a moment for my ears to adjust to that. Outside of that though, i'd say the bass is impressively ranged and the drivers in them sound very quick making the separation between instruments impressive.
      I would never say anything B&O is WORTH the price though but that's because I have little regard for style. The build quality seems very rigid but i'm not eager to slap them about with how much they cost.
      Even though B&O products cost a hefty amount, I can actually see why and it's because I still have speakers they made in 1988 working today (amp and displays and everything) even though they were left in the damp for over a decade. It seems that they make things that will last you.
      If it's an option pop into a place where you can actually listen to H95s so you can decide if it's worth it yourself because it all depends on what you value the most.
