@@DyslexicMitochondria Ayy I watch your videos. Nice to see you here bro
It’s going to be in every video this year.
He didn't wear gloves while handling the controller. Damnit, Linus.
Finish = ruined, nevermind the other guy that touched it before in the 3rd video. Linus ruined finish tips.
he did say he's trying it bare back
Maybe it is fake plastic copy...
nvm, we wont ever get to touch it anyway. they got what they wanted and more out of the controller, doubt they got a return on investment tho lol.
They have a big project coming so they gonna melt it.
They missed the fact that you can connect it to the Xbox and another Bluetooth device at the same time and hear both. That's a major feature.
well... the headset was garbage... that's probably why he completely forgot.. not to mention they were having connectivity problems.
@@tacticalluke8782 did you watch the fucking video? Obviously not.
@@kronostvxApparently you did not by the simple fact of you calling it garbage. Can you point to the exact time he said anything close to that? The only thing he mentioned is that no one should expect this to be a $250 headset with respect to audio. As of yet out of the over 20 reviews I have watched or read no one calls it garbage and almost all call it a great deal for $99. But, hey let's talk about your hurt feelings (being the empathetic soul that I am) you seem to let your dependence of being a fanboy for some other piece of plastic control you. And all I see you doing is overcompensating, most likely related to feeling threatened by having another L to stuff in your little bag of tears you hold close to you.

This is how i KNOW that im not a major gaming headset type of guy, because i bought this one yesterday and its literally the best gaming headset ive ever used lol. The sound was so perfect to me, and the fact that i could have it connected to my iphone and talk while still listening to the game audio was so cool to me, I love these!
If you're comparing their sound quality to other gaming headsets, the bar has not been set very high. Hard to beat gaming headsets for convenience at ~$100 though.
Agreed, it's great for 90% of gamers who aren't an audiophile. **EDIT**
I just bought it two days ago. Absolutely love it. Mic is super clear according to my friends and to me, the quality of sound is great as a non audiophile but someone who's a hardcore gamer.
I LOVE the dials for overall volume and separate one for party + game chat volume.
LOVE the Bluetooth pairing, it's immediate and lightning fast.
LOVE that it knows when you're wearing the headset so you can't accidentally adjust the headband slider therefore doesn't move when you have the perfect setting until you take it off.
I like it for how great it works and how comfortable they are. Audio is ok enough.
For music or movies (I'm a audio nerd) I'd go with with better audio.

I agree. Out of the box the sounds isn’t very good,. I fiddled around with the EQ settings for about an hour testing in Battlefield 1. I think I found a pretty good starting off point for users. Before the EQ the bass was way overpowering and the mids sound really hollow. This EQ setting fixes that for the most part and provides a lot more clarity!

@@Azarilh So you dont know what the hell theyre talking about in the video until you watch the first 30 seconds? Nah, it actually discentives me from watching their vids in the long run, especially when I cant tell what the device is in the thumbnail. Clickbaiting titles like the device is about to combust live on video kind of ruins any interest I have for learning about said electronic and how it works. A lot of the videos' interest then comes from if your favorite host is hosting rather than the product itself, which is strictly entertainment at that point rather than a pursuit of educating the viewer to get them into tech

What I love best about the headset is you can Bluetooth and listen to music and take calls from your phone while it's Bluetoothed to the console! That's so awesome! And you can adjust your music and game volume so everything sounds perfect!
The fact that someone made B Roll footage for the headphone update was just the cherry on top when it comes to this video.
Part 4 of Gold Controller : Yvonne melts the gold controller~!
Then let's make this happen
I fully support this

I want to extend this, there should be one video of Yvonne dismantling and melting all the gold. Then we need Linus reaction to that video as a floatplane exclusive. I appreciate the fact he recognizes 100 dollar headsets are not going to be the best audio like most UA-camrs these days hyping them up as better then more established headsets
I suspect most people spend $75 to $150 for a headset. And for those buyers, this headset seems to be the one to beat at the moment. And I have yet to see one calling it comparable to a $300 headset on the audio end. They often say it is better than anything in its class. That much is for sure. Other than that it seems you are projecting with a broad statement of most UA-camrs are hyping them up them to be such a device. Is there one? Maybe if you look hard enough. But since you said most please give at least 10, nay 5 YT podcasts that have them calling them the greatest thing since sliced bread or better than a $300 headset. Come on it shouldn't be hard with most of these podcasters doing it according to you.
@@psykorobot6807 wait, usd or cad?
There's already reddit threads out there recommending settings that make them sound pretty good.
3:06 Linux, You are the only reviewer that I've seen mentionning this feature. Thx!
Just a “buyer beware” from my experience. I bought the $100 series x wireless headset in this video and it was great sound wise, but once I joined an Xbox party with friends to test the mic, it literally picks up EVERY background noise there is. TV in a different room, ceiling fan, you name it. My friends could hear the sticks and buttons of my controllers loudly, every click I made. I did loads of troubleshooting, firmware updates, setting tweaks, all to no avail. Nothing would fix the sensitivity of this mic. I ended of returning it and buying the Arctis 7x for $50 more and am beyond please with that purchase.
For some reason none of these reviewers talk about the mic sensitivity of this $100 headset, however if you google there is plenty of forums complaining about this exact issue and they’re all still waiting on a software fix from Microsoft for a resolution.
Again this was just my experience, hopefully it saves someone some time and helps you rethink before you buy..

Just arrived in the mail. Lots of problems. While in Hunt Showdown there is no audio in-game or during match summary, but audio comes back in in the lobby. However, people can hear my mic. Headset uses BT 4.2. I bought an ASUS-BT400 (BT 4.0) dongle because BT is not integrated in my tower. When I was having lots of audio issues on Day 1 I pulled the dongle out, Hunt Showdown crashed, and I got the BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH (DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION). Today, I replaced that dongle with a new ASUS-BT500 (BT 5.0) and it only works marginally better. In fact, as long as I am in a video game environment (Hunt Showdown, MW2), I don't get any audio. The resources I find when searching online point me to the Xbox console, and Microsoft pages are from hell, generally. I cannot find PC resources for this blasted headset.
2:41 WHERE ARE THE GLOVES?!
For competitive multiplayer I want functionality over 'amazing' sound quality - I am guessing the sound is still decent (especially if you can eq up/down frequencies). I guess I will know later this week when mine gets delivered. I am not expecting the sound to be Hifiman Sundara or Audeze quality, but that is okay, it is a gaming headset (plus it's €99,- not €300+), not made for music listening. Having the game/party chat dial is a definite 'want' on the headphones.
edit: what I don't understand is, why Linus is going down the road of trying to compare it to 'headphones' for music listening - audiophile headphones. Yes, understandably there are people that use €900 Audeze headsets for gaming, but the majority don't. Arctis would have bee a better comparison.
So why not stick to comparing it to other 'gaming headsets', even if a few are in the €200/300 range and leave your audiophile snobbery out of the video. And why would you put on the bass boost as your first experience out of the headset.
How does the spatial audio fair compared to the pulse 3D? Also, what high end headset would you recommend for spatial audio on Series X?
Finally someone that tested the MIC, thanks Linus!
Sell the controller to T-Pain, that seems like something he would buy lol

I just got the headset, it’s brilliant for phone calls, music and games
I've been using DT 770 PROs for almost 10 years and they are pretty amazing. I got new leather pads from Brainwavz Audio which are really soft and comfortable. The padding on top is still really good. Of course these are just headphones and not a headset so you need an external mic.
Including the controller was a mistake, noone is gonna talk about the headset now
For $99 that looks amazing. I would love to see a comparison to the sennheiser pc37x
You're basically paying for wireless, as he shitted on the audio I doubt it's as good as the 37x
The issue he described, is related to the low quality speakers in the headphones. When you get bass that feels overdone but lacks detail and depth, then you just get a boomy sound as the detail gets averaged out. When you encounter that issue, you will also notice that details in the treble also get smooth out. If you want a good song to demonstrate both issues at the same time, try get a FLAC or other high quality version of the song Two Steps From Hell - Cannon in D Minor.
With live instruments being heavily used, you will notice that on higher quality headphones, the find details in the sounds of the instruments being played are retained even as a large number of other instruments and vocal come come in, but on lower quality headphones, those details start to disappear as more instruments and voices come in. Lower quality speakers simply cannot produce and maintain separation of increasing amounts separate sounds at the same time across the frequency range, and thus you start to get an averaging of the sounds.
This is also a good way to tell when a super expensive headphone is just a company taking a $50-60 pair of headphones, slapping a beats logo on it, and then charging $300 it, and that is when they run into the same audio issues as the $50-60 pair.
There will definitely be a pro/elite version with significantly improved audio at double or maybe triple the price I reckon....
I mean koss can make god tier headphones for around 15 dollars(Ksc75, kph30i, and porta pro). And the monoprice retro is a $30 set of extremely fun, extremely bassy and you can improve the sound greatly with some mods like XL pads.
I'm watch this wearing the product they're reviewing...I like the headset.

A headset first impressions video but there's a gold controller in view. Why do people put irrelevant things in their videos? Just to subliminally show it off?
Now you gotta make these out of gold
I've seen multiple reviews calling out the bass in these headphones, but my pair sure as hell do not seem to be heavy on bass compared to most headphones I've used such as sony noise cancelling headphones. Also, I'm not a person who normally turns on any kind of bass boost feature.
I figured something out that people may want to know:
Its my glasses! If I take my damn glasses (ray-ban, plastic frames) off, the sound is much better and the bass is heavier. Sadly then I can't see :) What this means is the sound isolation on these must be a bit iffy with the padding, considering I dont really have this issue with some of my higher quality cans. I did notice that if I slide them slightly further back on my head the quality also improves a bit.
How does it compare to a SteelSeries Arctis 9X? Fun tip: the 9X can be paired to both your phone and Xbox simultaneously and you can take a phone call while playing a game. Both sounds come in. Also, my 9X has started popping. Seems like the connection issue Linus was referring to with the Xbox headset. Should I consider the new Xbox headset?
Aight then.

Well $300 headsets must sound absolutely mind blowing as after my first day with the new Xbox Headset I'd day the sound quality is excellent. I prefer this to my 9X, which I will now be selling
I just got mine today, im waiting for shipment!! Great review Linus!
I'm still waiting for linus to listen to raycons, a product they've been SPONSORED BY BEFORE and then tell me they're worth more then 3 cents.
Corridor Crew sponsors a lot of Raycon and evertime you see them.. they ain't wearing raycons.
well, monthly use of golden controller LOL
I wonder how it compares to something like the Hyperx series of headsets.
Hyperx most likely sounds better but the mic on the Xbox one sounds a lot better than the hyperx one I'm talking about the hyperx cloud ii
@@DroptheBassForJesusSake Agree with this. Both the xbox wireless headset and the pulse 3D headset fall a bit flat compared to something like the hyperx.
No testing with Dolby Atmos?
Apparently the changing the eq helps with better sound as with most sound systems
2:45 oof :( 1k gone
he"s still milking the controller. lol
