A noble profession. I do mechanic work as a hobby, (diesels and classic vehicles are my preference) myself, as well as planning to go into professional acting and animation, and I’ve been in a few stage productions, so that’s fun. I can also can weld and do construction work quite well, with a fair bit of experience in both, mostly the latter. Anyhow though, knowing how to work on vehicles can potentially be a literal life-saver. I don’t merely have the capability to change a flat tyre in one minute forty-five for nothing, after all.
This fandom has saved me more than once due to stress that I had been having because of school I had never told anyone but now currently I have been a furry for 5 years and I am 16 years of age and putting a fursuit on for the first time for me it was a magical moment in my life. I hope that in a few more years I'll be able to feel the magic of becoming my personal character/characters

i have a hard past with the military and it makes me cry seeing that they made something of there feelings of getting out of the military and finding something they full hearty enjoy like my father pretty much became a Viking after leaving the military as a way to feel like someone he want to be and its great to see the small they have just like my father

There are a lot of things you missed about the furry fandom. You don't actually need to have a fursuit to be a furry, and yes, the sexual side is gross, but it exists. There's also artwork, and jobs you can get from the fandom, and much much more.
Ima be honest, most furries, including me don’t specifically wear fursuits just to be a animal, we just find it fun wearing our characters as a cosplay. It’s fun from the reactions we get from people and especially how cute the fursuit looks. So no, some furries don’t just dress up to be a animal. But it sure does feel fun and makes you feel free as yourself or a fun version of yourself :)
How i found the furry community was because a friend of mine was getting bullied for being a furry. I didnt know what it was, so i did some research. Lucky for me, i didnt immediately see the excplicit stuff, but the wholesome stuff instead. Always check multiple sources, and dont judge entirely by first your impressions.(even though they do mean a lot)

I am pleasantly surprised with how accurate this documentary was. Normally you tend to see a lot of the ideas associated with furries being conflated into this over-the-top ridiculous personality that doesn’t truly represent what it’s like to be a furry. This one, though, kept a nice balance of the lively nature of the fandom and the grounding fact that furries are also just everyday people who happen to share a hobby. Very nice work!

It should be noted that non of us wear our suits all the time or you would see us everywhere. I can be confident in saying that everone has a friend that is a furry. they may noy have a suit or being big in the cummunity but there are tones with the interest. suits are mostly a recognizable calling card for conventions imo. Its alot easier to find a 7 foot tall deer with purple ears and spots than a redhead in a crowd of 10,000. Its just about having fun and socializing and getting away from real life.

I once dressed as a rabbit to do a demo in a grocery store for a dust cleaner. Was suffocating in the rabbit head. Also teenage boys were following me, asking if I was male or female.
I became a furry because: 1) I'm lazy as hell and never bothered getting good at drawing humans when I was younger 2) you can stylize and give unique designs to animals easier. 3) I don't have to look at myself when I draw my fursonas. I have bad self esteem so I hate using myself to represent myself. Especially when I have characters I can look at and go "yea, that's me.". I would much rather be a wolf or a lobster than what I look like right now.
