Feral from what I learned is a different definition. Basically an animal the looks like a regular animal but can think and reason and talk like a human. IE Simba from the lion king. Also an alternative phrase for quadruped would be "four on the floor".

My friends know what furries are, but usually only mention them when making jokes or memes. I have absolutely no idea what they'd think if they found out I'm a fur :/

I joined the fandom a couple of months ago, and this helped! I haven't tried a fursuit yet, but I got some wolf ears while watching this and that was enough to break me somewhat into fursona.
I want to buy a head base and add fur to it over time. Once I finally make a head, I can have a mini partial! I've always wanted to wear a furry head, ive head dreams about it, and my friend said if I go over to their house I could actually try theirs on! I can do this! Nothing to be paranoid about to be honest. I'm friends with several gray muzzles. I don't tell this to a lot of people but I'm "close" to being one myself. As for why it's considered a gray muzzle, I don't have an easy answer other than statistically speaking, most furs fall below that age and it's used more as a respectful identifier rather than an insult. It's NEVER too late to join the fandom OR fursuit. I met a fur at Megaplex that was in his 60's, rocking a fursona badge and he told us some hilarious stories from previous cons he attended in the past.
