  • Tote Road is a ski run of varying difficulties located at Sugarloaf. The trail runs from the top of the Timberline chairlift at the summit of the ski area, down to the main base area. The top third of the trail, named Tote Road Ext. is rated as intermediate and begins to the slight skier's right of the top of the Timberline Quad. The trail begins with a small pitch but past that is mostly pretty mellow. After passing merging with the traverses coming from the top of the SuperQuad, the middle third of the trail, also rated as intermediate, features a few more curves and small drops. After passing the mid-mountain lodge area, the trail takes a turn to the right and into a steeper and longer drop. At the bottom of the pitch, the trail turns into Lower Tote Road, rated as a beginner which runs straight and mellow down the mountain until it reaches the bottom of the SuperQuad and the main base area.
Sugarloaf is a ski area located in Carrabassett Valley, Maine. The ski area is located in Northwestern Maine in Franklin County, about an hour north of Farmington and about 2.5 hours north of Portland. The ski area is the second-largest ski area in New England (behind Killington in Vermont) and the largest ski area in Maine, in terms of both skiable area and vertical. The ski area features a wide variety of terrain suitable for all availability levels. Beginners will find plenty to ski in the area below the lodge as well as on the lower half of the mountain, off of lifts such as the Whiffletree SuperQuad and the Double Runner lifts. Intermediates will find plenty of terrain on the western half of the main face of the mountain off of the Super Quad as well as off the summit of the ski area near the Timberline chairlift. Advanced and expert skiers and riders will really feel at home at Sugarloaf, being able to enjoy lots of terrain on the upper half of the mountain off of lifts such as the SuperQuad, Skyline, and King Pine. Sugarloaf is also home to the Snowfields, a famous area of terrain located off the summit of the ski area which is rarely open but when it is it provides the only above-treeline skiing in the East as well as some of the East's most steep and challenging slopes. Sugarloaf is owned by Boyne Resorts, which also owns Maine's second-largest ski area, Sunday River. Sugarloaf is a member of the New England Pass, offering unlimited visits to both Sugarloaf and Sunday River in Maine as well as Loon Mountain in New Hampshire, and is also a partner on the Ikon Pass, granting full pass-holders 7 days at the resort.

I think I'd be scared of Sugarloaf. Sunday River I've done.

@@beyondthelodge I've heard S.L. is very, very difficult, though part of me wants to try it. Have you skied at Sunday River?

@@tenderpawsm473 Sugarloaf has a lot of hard terrain but there are a lot of normally difficult blues and greens as well. And yes, I have been to Sunday River
