Just purchased this controller I'm happy with it so far!!
Great to hear you like the controller so far! Which color did you go for?
Pretty cool to see a Fellow Canadian glad we got Canadian prices I’m definitely gonna purchase one of these next week I hope need a new controller with paddles for my switch
Nice review, thanks!
This controller looks amazing
Loved the KK2 Pro, really solid build quality and hall-effect sensors are something I always look for in my RC transmitters so back then when I heard the KK2 Pro uses them, I was instantly sold. Now the KK3 Max just gave me the perfect excuse to pass my KK2 Pro down to my tween daughter to go with her new laptop hehehe...
Very interested as it seems like it's got all the performance and features you get from the Xbox Elite 2, plus some. My only hang-up is the D-Pad, not sure how it would perform in 2D fighting games. Can you tell me what your experience has been so far using the D-Pad for fighting games like Street Fighter, KOF, MK, etc.?
The dpad has been solid so far but I haven't used it for any fighting games specifically.
How is facebutton feeling? Is it like 8bitdo ultimate or like ds5?
… you know I don’t NEED a new controller… why’d you do this?
lol great review as always Kei 👍
Ha I didn't need one either but now that I've tried it, it's hard to go back to using my 8bitdo ultimate bluetooth. Boxed that one up and switched over to using these both as my main controllers (one on my PC and one for my TV dock). Did you order one?
@@KeiRetroGaming not yet, REALLY thinking about it though. I got my daughter an 8BitDo Ultimate C for her Switch. I’ve been a fan of the ultimates for the most part but hers has digital trigger which I really like bc I don’t play many games that really use the analog feature.
The ultimate c has its positives (decent layout, price) and negatives (no paddle buttons, color choices are meh). The KK3 may be a bit more but it might be what I’m looking for… idk, we’ll see
does this have trigger vibration?
I am ordering right now
Awesome! Have fun! I'm sure you'll love it.
I bought the controller to use the gyro on my pc. If I use the windowsmode (wired or with the dongle) I can only map gyro on the controller and it simulates stick movements. That's pretty bad and not fun to use.
I can however use the controller wired and in switch mode and get full gyro compatibilty but then I loose the analog triggers.
I also have a lot of problems with connecting the controller. Overall it is a nice controller but it has a lot of flaws that don't get talked about in reviews like this one.
can u play driving games using gyro fot steering
Honestly I ended up liking this controller even more than my Elite series 2. There are caveats with it like the longer paddles need to be closer to the bottom surface of the controller to be comfortable, the left stick made a grinding sound when pushing up while swiping left and right (eventually this went away), the triggers feel mushy, the rumble is not really great, and the firmware update removed turbo functionality from the paddles (you can roll back the firmware to restore paddle turbo). However, it’s very comfortable, the face and top shoulder buttons feel nice, battery life is excellent, the sticks are super smooth and precise (once the left stick grind eventually went away), and the turbo and macro function is a major game changer in the games I play
Should I use this in wire mode for competitive gaming or go wireless?
Wired is always good when low latency is a must, but I didn't notice nearly any difference to 2.4ghz. I'd probably just use the 2.4ghz mode as long as you're within 5-15ft of the device. Worth trying both and seeing which suits your situation better.
UA-camr GameTechTalk recently did a review of the new $25 GameSir T4 Nova Lite and said, or to be more accurate strongly implied, that it's actually a better controller than the KK3 Max he'd also reviewed recently. I have a Nova Lite on the way thanks to winning one from GameSir's launch livestream last week, so I'm interested in hearing from people who think that it's amazing. That part after the comma is a joke; but, I would be interested in your thoughts on the Nova Lite if you end up getting a review sample or something. On paper they should be very competitive with each other, even if you ignore the giant price differential. Hall sticks, Hall triggers, nice big buttons, etc.
Nova lite doesn't have back buttons and trigger stops.
I'll make sure to review that one if they reach out. As of right now I have about 25 controllers so I probably won't buy anymore for awhile. Sounds like a great value controller though for $25!
i just bought this, nd im really confused about the USB, is the usb a bluetooth dongle ? cuz I cant see any bluetooth settings menu on W11 to pair the controller with .. im really confused.
Nope, just swap to the 2.4ghz USB mode on top, plug in the usb dongle and turn on the controller. That's all you need to do to connect it with the 2.4ghz adapter.
Thoughts on this compared to the flydigi apex4?
Never tried the Apex 4 unfortunately.
Got the black version, updated the firmware, but I can’t get it off the Nintendo switch to pc.
Any ideas, suggestions 😅would be great..
You tried switching the mode as mentioned in the review? What does it do when you try to switch? Does it turn off?
@@KeiRetroGamingHi yes it shuts off 😮
🫢 just watched the video again, I wasn’t clicking it two times .
Thank you 🙏 for your video, just subbed 😊.
Double tap the mode button then let go of it, don't hold it down. Wait a few seconds then double tap again to move to the next mode if needed.
I currently play Apex Legends on pc through steam with an elite 2 controller, will I be able to use the kk3 on steam with no issues
It's been great on steam so far for me, no issues to report.
@@KeiRetroGaming ok thanks for the feedback
Exactly why I’m on this video but I play apex on ea
@@Se_Goobergo for the apex 4 instead. i play apex. mainly the only fps game i play on steam. that controller
is just smooth. it’s something else. slap linear with it. you’ll feel what i’m saying when you actually use it
I also play Apex, but I'm on PS5, tryna get rid of my Battle Beaver, I need those 4 back paddles and macros
It's $50 in my country so it's a steal for me lol probably the best controller i ever used..
tutorial on start on mobile/emulators. and if possible warzone mobile
Is this usable on ps5 via usb?
It should, but I don't have a PS5 to check.
Great review! I'm looking to replace my Xbox Elite v1 and this might be it. A Note: this doesn't have RGB... just B ;)
Very good replacement for the Xbox Elite V1. You'll be very happy with it I think. I've essentially replaced all my controllers with this. I have the black one at my tv for when I dock my Ally and the grey one at my desktop.
it`s tactile button or membrane?
Full rubber membrane across the controller.
membrane, they try to play it off like they are tactile but its actually just a variation of membrane switches, dont be fooled. with that word on the skreet is they are very nice despite them being membrane switches
End game? Not even 4 months of owning my kk3 Max and my right thumbstick snapped. It's garbage now. Seems to be an issue with the kk3 max. Buyers beware
Yeah there seems to be a lot of QA issues, but if you dodge the 'Bad' ones you actually get the legit best controller you can ask for. I've had the KK2 for a year now, and never had issues with them minus the weird quirks that came with it. Grindy right Joystick, and a few times the switch mode button jammed, but it's been the best perfect experience I've had with a controller, with one fatal flaw of both models I had, white and black not having bluetooth working at all at some point, maybe gotta fix them with firmware idk. I've owned 360 controllers, PS3, and ofc XBOX One controllers. All of those minus the PS3 controllers I've had minus the damages I've manually done myself from slamming it as a child and taking off the rubber off of the joysticks aren't with me anymore. The PS3 controllers sidenote I've had for 13 years now... Crazy and it has no stickdrift, and mechanically functions new minus a rattle from internal. I do know they have hall effects in them though. Finally I gotta mention the Vader 3 Pro I have if you're thinking about it. It had centering issues that's my experience with it, other than that it didn't really have drift you just really have to make sure the sticks are centered, and it basically does everything the KK3 pro does, with the weight of the standard xbox one controller, so it feels more 'quality' at times. I hope this helps if you're looking for anything. So TLDR look into the Vader, or a PS3 controller, tbh, I think this market hasn't grown enough yet. I do know 8BITDO has a awesome option I am thinking of getting soon. I'll update this reply if you have any questions.
had mine since 10th Feb and my back paddles are getting stuck after pressing them in now. I do not recommend this controller because of this. So disappointing as the rest of the controller is 10/10
In just 3 months, left trigger lock broke ( analog/digital ). Not durable. It's just made out of thin plastic inside.
