PLEASE HELP !! got this controller for my son to use on pc and i have an issue... when i connect it with the wire its detected as "xbox controller" but when i connect the 2.4g dongle its detected as "usb controller" on win10... he cant use it in minecraft on the 2.4g but when using the wire he can... i updated the firmware but it didnt solve the issue... any ideea how i can make it work on the 2.4g ?
Excellent review! I know this is not easy to test, but what do you think about the battery life? How is it compared to something like a xbox series controller with double AA batteries?
It isn't exactly budget but any chance you'll review the Flydigi Vader 4 Pro? I've seen some good things about it and I'm curious how it compares to other mid-high end controllers like Dualsense, Flydigi KK3 or EasySMX X10/20.
I have a huge video queue right now of stuff to review but I've had it recommended many times. Looks like a great controller and it might be fun to review down the road maybe.
Nice review! How do the triggers compare to those on the PS5 controller? Are they as stiff, or are they a bit softer like the Xbox controllers? Thanks!
Can you test it with steam so we can see how much is inner deadzone of this controller? Click any game on steam then click the controller icon and then click joystick button. Then choose test analog button. How much input necessary to show a output percentage? Thats the deadzone i want to know before buy.
Doesn't seem to have any deadzone if I'm reading this correctly. I could lower the values completely and it still remained black while testing. Although I've never tested for this before but I think I checked it right. Dead zones have never been an issue for me on hall sticks.
@KeiRetroGaming in gamepadla, they say it has slightly deadzone not zero. In steam when you move %1 output should be shown %1 too. Thats 0 deadzone. In my case my current gamepad needs to %31 input to work as a output.
It would not be bad if attention was also focused on whether the sticks have "snaps" to x and y axes, some budget gamepads have this and playing games in first person is not particularly convenient, but judging by the video there is no snapping to axes here, thanks for the in depth review

Hi, I wanna use this controller for gaming in NVIDIA SHIELD, connect it through BT 2 main purposes: 1 - using game stream to my PC, and play with it 2 - Play NVIDIA SHIELD games (from play store) will this controller do the job? Thanks!
I just got my Nova Light and already I can tell the build quality is a bit worse. The polling rate is also much lower. Between the two id pick the X05 personally unless you need a dpad that isn't mushy.
Great review, Kei! Kick ass polling rate, wow. Did you test it with blutooth? I'm in the market for a new controller, but one thing, what about rumble? You kinda skipped over that spec and review. Edit: How does it feel to play games with? I was wondering what else was missing lol.
Bluetooth seemed to work well, can't believe I skipped that in the review oops. Rumble is decent too. Since it has a solid feel and weight to it, it doesn't come across as hollow or cheap when it rumbles (at least in my opinion). Sometimes cheaper controllers feel like they're rattling when they rumble but this isn't the case on this one. Playing games on it has been great so far. No complaints from me on that one, I just wouldn't use it for dpad centered games. Useable dpad but it does bottom out as I showed.
I bought their EasySMX T39 Pro last month from Aliexpress for about $16 USD and was very impressed. It was actually far better than the Xbox controller in every single way. Why pay $50USD for an Xbox controller? Might buy this X05 too as the price is very appealing.
The X05 is a nice jump over the T39 Pro. I tried the T39 Pro briefly but this just feels like a much better controller all round. Glad you like the T39 though and for $16 that's not a bad price!
@@KeiRetroGaming OK, I just bought the X05 as well for $11 USD off Aliexpress. Had a bunch of coupons and coins on my account. At that price I couldn't resist.
@@KeiRetroGaming I accidentally dropped it and the joystick mount snapped, so it needs replacing and some of the L and R buttons don't have tactile feedback anymore. I could repair it but I thought I could also upgrade since I've had it for over 4 years, was even thinking of the KK3 Max since it's only $50 here.
Ah... That sucks. Both are great replacements honestly. If you want to save a few bucks id grab the EasySMX X05, but if you need a better dpad the KK3 Max is also a great option. I don't think you'd be disappointed with either.
Hi Kei, I'm looking for a gamepad that will make me happy for many years? Is there a better and cheaper option than an Xbox controller? Durability is important to me. Thank you already.
awesome review. very in depth
It's not grip tape! It's for the joysticks and there's a third controller color available.
very professional review keep it up
oke done, orderd one for 17 euro from ali, crazy prices man.

Bluetooth performance is terrible, you can test that too. For the price it is good but no software for windows :(

Softer to mid similar to Xbox.

is this controller possible to overclock in wired mode? more than 1000
1000hz is the max polling rate supported.
Hello, this controller is detected as a native XBOX Controller on Windows or do I need to install an XBOX Controller Emulator ?
It should work as an Xbox style controller without any 3rd party apps on Windows.

1. EasySmx X05
2. GameSir Nova light
Any suggestions? 🤔

I remember "budget" options back in the day being terrible. Crazy to see how far these cheaper controllers have come, especially since the retro era.
