He was flown in, auditioned, grilled, and the whole team will then decide if he gets the gig or not. They recorded a new album too and toured with that. It went Platinum. Arnel was okay just to get the autographs from his idols and go home. But the whole team decided, he got the gig. Longest running vocalist of Journey so far! I love Steve Perry, nobody can ever replace him, he has moved on so I'm moving on too and just enjoy the music.
One thing I am proud of live performers is that we never go lypsyncing no matter how tired we are and how difficult the songs are. I never heard or seen Arnel lypsyncing. The guy still rock
