I can almost guarantee you the new guy is not getting an equal cut. Not even close. In these situations, the later guys get "cut out" of profits, ie., the band will say the guy wasn't around during the hey days of song writing, building the band brand, etc. Why should he come in at the end and reap the rewards? Etc. I wouldn't be surprised if they just paid him like an employee, and not as an equity partner.
The addition of Arnel Pineda as lead vocals in 2008, revived Journey. They've been touring since then. You cannot deny Arnel's great tenor voice. He is Asian, you just have to accept that and that he is not Steve Perry. SP has been gone for a while. It is Arnel's now. Eight years later, Arnel is still a great frontman. Just enjoy the music.

Explosive, looks magnificent on stage!! There's no sign of awkwardness with his whole body and the way he sings. He's so agile. This makes him really different with the former front men. Have you seen Augeri? He looks so uncomfortable on stage. Steve Perry was good but doesn't have the agility of a stage performer. Arnel Pineda's whole body is the music.

When he's ON like in this performance, sure. But there are a LOT of examples (both in video and anecdotal reports from their shows) where he is just flat and awful. He is VERY hit or miss.

The guy need to rest. i hope Journey schedule their concert tour once a week not every night or every two days
Of course Steve Perry will always be the voice of Journey and is unmatched to this day, but Arnel is doing a great job. He's the best lead singer for Journey in the new millenium.

He has 25 years experience as a band singer before Journey discovered him. When opportunity knocked he was so prepared. Great talent. Proud Filipino.🇵🇭
The band can perform the same sound even they are getting old but the hardest part is to keep the voice when you get about 50 yrs old, keep up journey more tours and rock and roll 🤘
Going to see them in Oct in Niagara Falls, I was able to grab row 2 seats damn near center, rest were sold out. Just a Powerful performance from Arnel. Thats a real damn rocker right there. The energy he put out was just crazy...I know its not until Oct, but thgis ramped me up. Bless Arnel and his family, he has earned and deserves all the success that he has and will have. To all the people that say otherwise , I am a die hard Journey fan, and yeah Perry was great, but why take away from this guy. Most critics have been silenced log ago, but some are still holding out..Arnel is just POWERFUL in his stage presence. Man....Journey will probably rock my damn face off if its even half of this performance! Arnel breathe new life into the band.... LONG LIVE JOURNEY!

Since 2015 Journey has tuned down its songs to fit Arnel's voice and let him rest more, I was surprised to listening to Separate Ways on its original key but now that you have pointed out, they are using the same audio from Las Vegas. That's a fucking rip off. Makes me sad. I don't get it, Arnel has a lot of energy, he doesn't need that kind of cheap tricks to be appreciated.

I saw Journey twice last year. In Las Vegas & San Francisco. Both fantastic shows with an energeticArnel. & good sound. Hardcore!
