You know the off-season is getting long when a 2003 matchup between the Cardinals and Lions seems interesting to me
Less flags back then
I feel you
Dude I watched all the Vikings touchdowns of 2019, and I'm a cowboys fan.. and now I'm watching this I feel your pain.
12 PackersFan honestly lmao
this is the truest comment I've seen on youtubee
Rogers was a beast. The two broken clavicle's killed his career. I remember when he was dumped by Detroit, and the Patriots, Bucs, and Vikings all had him workout, but none signed him. I can only imagine how bad those workouts must have gone. The ESPN story on him in 2009 was sad. You could tell he was still hooked on pain meds, and would never get healthy. Its really sad he passed away of cancer. My heart breaks for these kids that go from nothing, to everything, and back to nothing in the blink of an eye. They are always left wondering how they pissed it all away, and their agents, teams, and handlers do so little to help.
Didnt know charles Rodgers had all those workouts, I still remember the draft commercial for him and Suggs and all them on that years madden
They might not of “helped” how you wanted them to but they certainly were not the ones forcing him to do the drugs and they weren’t the ones forcing him to make the decisions that led to him being charged criminally. It’s a sad story but he did play a part in his outcome.
sad story
@NorthOfWindsor he died of liver failure
Nah his addiction killed his career exactly like Justin Blackmon. He could’ve been almost as good despite the injury,he just didn’t have that drive because it was being fulfilled via illicit substances. Sad story. Dude could’ve been a hofer
Anquan's rookie season: 101 catches, 1377 yards, 8 TD's, 13.6 YPR. Offensive Rookie of the Year, and Pro-Bowler in his first season. Absolute Beast! Also wasn't picked till late in the 2nd round (54th) of draft.
Out of the Florida State Seminoles
Anquan was truly one of the first WR's to dominate in spite of a 4.7 fourty
Zachary Madden I remember he ran a 4.7 in the 40 which made him fall to the 2nd round. Then he won rookie of the year and went over 1000 yards
Funny thing, the Cardinals downplayed how good Anquan looked in training camp that year. There wasn't a lot of hype about him because the Cardinals purposely shut out the media. He was their secret weapon coming out of camp
Zachary Madden one of the best
Charles Rogers just passed away felt bad for dude he was pretty fast
@Patrick Reilly not that great
Rodgers was good when healthy but those lions teams were built outside in instead of inside out and when Rodgers got hurt twice he never got his speed back
I feel bad for his children. He was trying to get it together for them. He blew his shot. His kids have been hearing about it for their entire lives. I'm sorry for their loss of a father.
You misspelled fat
@@Bobcat8188huh? Charles Rogers was skinny. Too skinny.
Cardinals drafted Boldin in 2003 and Fitzgerald in 2004. Pretty good
And then they got gunslinger Kurt Warner. I'm not a Cardinals fan, but damn, it still hurts that SB loss against the Steelers.
@@jorgeespinoza3938 Doesn't hurt too bad, the league clearly wanted the Steelers to win and so it happened.
@@jorgeespinoza3938 Their defense screwed them. Playing zone with Santonio Holmes running curl routes like a deranged squirrel
@@MarloSoBalJr the "preventive" defense, called like that because it prevents the team from winning.
It turned the franchise around
Charles Rogers had so much potential sooo MUCH
It’s sad how he turned out to be a bust. Just like Joey Harrington. I hate to see wasted potential
RIP ROGERS
@@phillyfan-182 wasn't a bust fool. He got injured
Rip Charles Rogers.
Don't forget this was also Emmitt Smith's first game as a Cardinal. The ultimate football sacrilege lol
Who ready for football season? I can’t wait any longer
I agree with you, Jerry Jones.
I cant wait, Bill Belichick
I CAN wait. I got NASCAR and INDYCAR to pass the time.
I'm with you, Al Davis.
@@collinghood6828 i had the NBA
Joey Harrington, Charles Rogers, and the Lions defense all had a good game?!? Impossible!
Charles Rogers!
Now there’s a name I haven’t heard in a LONG time...🤦🏼♂️
Imagine in a re-draft the Lions took Boldin with that pick instead of Rogers?
1997 Mtw Then they might actually have drafted megatron anyways LOL if I recall the only QB who played even relatively well for at least a season in that draft was Kevin Kolb
@@JWex-jy7sk What if they took Andre Johnson instead of Rodgers?? He went the next pick after Rodgers smh.
Not hard for the Lions' offense to have a good game when you play a team like Arizona!
And Dre Bly too😂😂😂
Anquan Boldins first NFL game was with the Cardinals and his last NFL game was with the Lions 🤯
Villegas very true that’s crazy lol
The more you know
RIP Charles Rodgers I totally forgot about this guy and what a talent he was and could have been!
He’s still alive lol
@@Platerpus7 Bro he past nov 11th 2019, Google it!
@@Platerpus7where you been, Chuck died years ago.
Anyone here after the death of Charles Rogers earlier today
Rip
How did he die?
Loved hearing that sound at 1:07. Always looked forward to updates of the other games.
Back when the lions used a first round pick on WR every year. Lol.
Now its TEs
Austin Ryan lol pettigrew, ebron, hockenson and ebron was terrible but as soon as he leaves he’s great and honestly I think they over drafted the crap out of hockenson
BIG DA Hockenson will be a great TE out of all those other guys. He’s been working out with the legendary Tony Gonzalez all offseason too so I’m thinking he will be a beast for years to come
Anquan Boldin is my favorite NFL WR! I was so happy when my 49ers landed him after losing the superbowl against him and the Ravens. I still have my #81 jersey 😁
Keep that baby locked up. I stopped watching ball during that time but I bet he looked fantastic in gold.
Still got my kaep jersey
chito Im I got my Kaepernick Jersey too!
Rest in Piece Charles Rogers, thank you for the memories. He was a really nice dude, for real.
rest in peace Charles Rogers.
3:07 Beast touchdown by Charles Rodgers before 2 collarbone breaks that endes his career . R.I.P
We witnessed half of his career scores in this game
Thank you for the rather obscure games like this! I love seeing these games from the early-to-mid 2000s.
Amen
Damn, Joey Harrington had one hell of a game. Let's give him some props too! Those were some great reads.
NEVER!!!!! Lol As a die hard Lions fan, one pretty good game doesn't get the bad taste out my mouth every time I hear his name
I always liked Harrington but he never reached his full potential
He could have been a good QB in the NFL. He was never the same player after the injury he sustained late in his rookie season.
@J M hey man you're confusing us witn Cleveland
He made a lot of good throws but also made a lot of dumb mistakes
Most surprising part of the video? 14:02
Why you may ask?
The Bills blanked the Pats 31-0
That was the good old days when the PATS are getting there's ass beat by the Bills
I remember everyone thought the Pats run was over since Milloy left...if only.
@@ghostintheshell3576 You realize that the reverse happened in week 17? Buffalo lost 31-0 and didn't beat NE again until 2011.
That loss is well documented...
The Pats started 2-2 and ran the table to finsih 14-2 with a super bowl win. From week 5 2003 through week 1 of 2005 the Patriots were 27-2 in the regular season and 6-0 in the playoffs.
Cory Schlesinger. The pride of Nebraska
Beast
Like Tony Richardson and lorenzo neal and the great fullbacks of that era
Charles Rodgers was the best college WR I've ever seen...to bad he didn't have a better pro career!
Injuries
@@BSealeFLent ....yuuuup (both collar bones I believe) + weed suspensions!
Wasn't '03 the same season these Cardinals knocked out the Vikings in week 17 from the playoffs?
Yep
Yup in that game... Guess who caught the game winning catch... #81
@@dc7236 I'm pretty sure Nate Poole was the guy who caught the game winning touchdown.
Yeah with that bullshit force out rule 😂
Zein Rahman yeah it was Nate Poole
Curt Menefee is so much better as a studio host than being a play-by-play announcer
I always think of the word 'manatee' when I hear his last name. Am I the only one that thinks that?
I completely agree. I wonder if Fox just kept him around expecting to one day use him as a studio host.
Lmao Charles Rogers caught HALF of his career TDs in this one game.
May he rest in piece.
I was at that game!! I remember saying Rogers was going to be great.......sadly mistaken. Looking back I'm glad I was there to witness the coming of one of the greatest wide receivers to ever play "Bolden" One Pride for life!
I was so stoked when Bolden came to Detroit, even though he was out of his prime, he still had skill and heart, something we lacked before he came
Boldin was good but not one of the best ever.
Aquan Boldin. 10 catches. 210 yards 2 TDS
Charles Rogers. 3 catches 43 yards 2 TDS 1 rush 12 yards (best game of his career lbvfs 😂)
Rest In Peace. :(
1:21 Randy Moss was absurd
This rookie stat really helps his argument as the greatest WR, and it’s right next to Rice’s numbers
Absolutely @@jhgaming1289
RIP Rogers🙏 for you’re family
Geeez man.... Charles Rogers had the best day of his life that game
And in just one half he scored as many TDs as the remainder of his career.
He was legit just wrong team and no #2 we to help. He'd be a pro bowler and hof'er if he was picked NEW England Patriots and was Brady's #1 or 2
He was doing ok through 5 games til he broke his shoulder blade. Next season exactly the same injury, sure guys like him are 'busts' in hindsight but if he didn't get injured, who knows?
@@mistysowards7365 His collarbones would have been stronger on New England? He had injury issues and a drug problem. Not the Lions fault.
@@debbie2042 Truth. The kids called him Mister Glass. LOL
Thought it was funny when Dre Bly scored, and tried to do the Bob and Weave celebration the Rams did in St. Louis when they were putting up points. The other Lions players in the endzone looked puzzled on how Bly was trying to celebrate. Anyways, thanks for posting this. I vaguely remember this game, just because of Anquan's monster debut. Didn't remember the game being that good due to the teams involved. Too bad Harrington didn't pan out for the Lions. Always seemed like a nice guy.
TheLoneDraftsman Fun fact: Dre Bly went to my school and our track and outdoor weight-room was built in his honor
@@VibeWithRonny former ram and fell off when he went to Broncos
Joey Harrington could have been a good NFL QB if it wasn’t for the injury he sustained late in his rookie season. He was never the same player afterwards.
What was the injury? I used I be high on Joey
No injury I I remmeber the Harrington joey heisman campaign
Sad that a raw talent like Charles Rogers was completely erased by his addictions and plain stupidity in managing his personal affairs. One just have to ask "what if". I bet if he watches this video he would do everything to get into a time machine.
He also broke his clavicle twice.
@@LukeR.5117 That's what led to the addiction. A lot of people seem to forget that.
@@satchelraidincoming636 I figured. It's too bad.
@Joseph Cocchiola ......you better ask Stephen Hawking about that. (Yes, he's dead....but only in this dimension)
@@satchelraidincoming636 well, he also failed drug tests while playing for the Michigan State Trojans so I'm not really sold on that broken clavicle story.
I forgot Emmitt Smith was on this Cardinals roster!
Yep the team that ended the vikings season and Chris Hovan who looked like a viking and I miss this fox era
RIP Charles Rogers. I hope you have found peace.
Remember that this is the same Cardinals team that knocked the Vikings out of the playoffs on the last game of the regular season.
Charles Rogers, Roy Williams, Mike willaims...wow , so much talent at the position but never panned out. So much weapons for harrington, even kevin jones.. Matt Millin years was curse..
Lmao fire mat millien was a big thing for awhile
Boldin would have had two rings if the cardinals D didn’t choke to Ben and Holmes
I'm glad he got one, but getting one with AZ would've been sweeter. Because it would mean Fitz would have one as well.
Blame kurt warner for that one
@@janboblarry Not Kurt's fault. The defense was trash in those last 2 minutes
RIP CHARLES ROGERS ❤️
Half of Charles Rogers career TDs came in this game
Ya I think nick Saban recruited him at michigsn st along with plaxico buress
Ahh when fullbacks where a thing
'What's a text?'-Creed, an old guy.
'What's a fullback?'-Some young person.
Joey Harrington put Oregon on the map..
Akili smith also and Dennis dixon and darron Thomas and mariota and also dan fouts
Poor Charles, I hope he can just turn his life around and have a good life. He was INCREDIBLY talented. I wanted him to be successful more than he wanted it for himself. One of the greatest wide receivers in college football history.
Damn, a win in the Matt Millen era for the Lions.
I know those Cardinal jersey are simple looking but I love them
The Cardinals should go back to these uniforms, classic.
It was on September 7, 2003 when the Arizona Cardinals faced the Detroit Lions on the road.
RIP Charles Rogers 🙏🏻
Anquan Boldin was a hero for the Ravens during our Super Bowl run. I was beyond pissed when Ozzie released him that very offseason.
both receivers would go on to have hall of fame careers and nothing bad happened and no one kept getting arrested and addicted to things
I couldn't figure out why this was in my recommended yesterday..then I found out Charles Rogers died smh.
Michigan st legend
Bolden's final rookie numbers were amazing for a WR. 101 receptions 1377 yards & 8 Td's. Finished his career with 1076 receptions 13,779 yards & 82 TD's. Future hall of famer IMHO. I think before Calvin should get in. Charles Rodgers showed a lot of promise but he had a broken collar bone in 5th game & then was a knuckle head who could not stop smoking weed.
Rest well C. Rogers💐
Thanks for the highlights.
#80
Rest easy Charles Rogers
RIP Charles Rogers
Charles Rogers played at my alma mater Michigan State, and was an amazing receiver there. Was a total bust in the NFL after being the second overall pick in the draft. Only lasted three seasons in the NFL, but played in very few games due to injuries and suspensions.
I was trying to figure out what ever happened to him but thanks for explaination
He was the most talented college WR I can ever remember watching!
Charles Rogers 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Is it just me, or does Joey Harrington play like Aaron Rodgers? The throwing motion, mobility, etc. just looks awfully similar to me.
Rodgers lit it up for me in fantasy that day!...not so much after
love this random classic with emmitt on the cardinals lmaoo
Damn I forgot how nostalgic it was to hear the fox update sound lol
Wwe 4 life
For real
what the hell happen to Rodgers after this game? Did injuries turn him into a bust?
11:46- James Hall said to Jeff Blake: "Gimme that thing!"
I hope someone can upload the full game
I forgot all about those score updates with the fox sound at 1:08
Back when Joey Harrington had a bright future.
Him and akili smith back to back lmao
Did you know Baltimore actually wanted a anquan in the 2003 draft.
they eventually got him
And they eventually got him and won a title with him.
And Dolphins fans wanted him, too and criticized Dave Wannsteadt for not taking him in the second round.
@@robsmith961 remember in 2005 when Miami took Ronnie Brown over Aaron Rodgers with the second overall pick when they clearly needed a quaterback
My ravens always want a wr n don’t get them until this yr. we wanted Dey Bryant an demaryius Thomas but didn’t make moves. Every yr I was screaming for a specific wr that they passed on that turned out to b good.
Rogers looked great. Wonder what happened to him?

Rest In Peace Charles Rogers

The hours and stuff I had to do on Madden to get Joey Harrington and Charles Rodgers 99 ovr lol.. 😅😂
I can’t believe this Baldwin been around sense 2003 good lord he’s played for so many teams
Cardinals
Lions
Ravens
49ers
Bills
he’s Quite the journey man
1:06 miss that sound. Early 2000’s fox nfl broadcasts were the best.
When I see these games it reminds me where I was without before knowing its strange but cool
Charles Rogers' debut, as well. His career went downhill fast...
I really miss these classic Cardinals jerseys.
Crazy that the Cardinals had both Boldin and Fitzgerald but Arizona decided to go a "younger" route, ironic Fitzgerald was only one year younger than Boldin in NFL years and Fitzgerald is going for his 15th (?) season. Boldin showed he still had plenty of fuel in the tank too. Salary cap just totally destroyed that superstar duo.
The NFL needs to bring back the single-bar helmet @ 2:21. A thing of beauty
How tf did I forget about anquan smh. Absolute beast
It was all down hill for Charles Rogers after this game...
Boldin is one of the GOAT’s! wasn’t even playing reciever till college fr
RIP
Who remembers Bolden running a 4.7 40?
Charles Roger’s first game he had 2 TDs then he got hurt and got addicted to pills. RIP. He would’ve been great
Sad story
Rip 🙏

I've always wondered what if Charles Roger's never would have broken his collarbone in practice that year. Then the following year he breaks his collarbone again the first ball thrown to him in week 1. Then started with all of the failed drug tests. He had all of the tools.
