I had my Tubal Ligation done 29 years ago and have never had a problem
I had a bilateral salpingectomy (dual tubal removal) 5 years ago and I'm doing perfectly fine :) Married for 2 years, and my husband and I have never had to use condoms or any type of birth control. And it's just fantastic. No headaches, no mood swings, no stress about accidentally getting pregnant lol. No weight issues whatsoever. Every surgery has risks, but honestly having this surgery at 24, was the best decision of my life :) I am doing extremely well mentally. Not a day goes by that I am not extremely grateful to science and the doctor who performed the surgery. Cheers!

I had my tubal ligation 7yrs ago. I have zero problems from having it done and I don't regret my decision. My periods are even shorter now. The only issue I have is having to wait a month to get it done.
These videos and comments are scaring the shit out of me. I'm not saying they aren't having issues but I honestly feel like something else is going on here.

I had this operation 14 yrs ago and have never had an issue.Birth control was making me so sick and my life changed for the better and i have no regrets.I know women who had the operation and have no issues too.
Not everyone will but being aware of the possibility would be nice. I wasn't told about any negative side effects and I have spent 5 years suffering. Everything started 6 months after my tubal.

Everyone is different. You and the others who've had no issues are lucky. I thought I was among that group. I was for about 5 year. Now I can't stand that I ever thought this was a good idea.

Amen. My mom had hers burnt over 30 yrs ago and she'll brag all day long about how she never got pregnant afterwards but it's had a huge impact on her overall health. She's obese, constant headaches, mood swings, hypertension, high cholesterol and hyperthyroidism. I don't think she realizes it's because of having had the tubal ligation.
Birth control will do it to you too ! Better to not have sex at all.
Mines are tied and I'm always feeling bloated and now I see why I'm not obese because I workout just about everyday but the feeling of being bloated everyday drives me nuts it's just not a great feeling at all.. regret I got mines tied but I just didn't want anymore kids

I kinda have to wonder why someone would want to make a comment with a sole purpose of rubbing your good fortune in the face of those who are suffering. Your name, strange pic and comment make me wonder if you're a paid troll. In addition to the symptoms mentioned in this video, many women had medical devices placed during their tubal ligation which contain silicone and nickel traces and triggered or severely worsened body wide inflammatory or autoimmune responses. Worse yet, many of us were not even told they left foreign bodies inside us. This is a very serious issue.

I had TL and no complains. Everybody is different. I have 5 kids and last pregnancy I got pregnant with Twins with
an IUD. So for me this was the best decision. I’m super healthy!

How long have your tubes been tied, if you don't mind my asking?! I ask because sometimes, some Women do indeed start off fine with their TL, then suddenly changes occur that you can obviously tell are a result of having had this procedure, and it's downhill from there. That was the case for me. I had it done in 2013. Regret and noticeable side effect didn't hit me until 5 years later. I absolutely HATE this, now.

Tubal ligation November 2015 and Tubal ligation reversal October 2019 best thing I ever did! My bleeding issues and all symptoms from the tubal have now been corrected just from having them reversed 🙂😊
How much did the reversal cost?

Birth control is more dangerous talk to people who have had the operation.I was up and back to work after one week and have never had any problems and now going through menapause without issues.
I had a tube ligation over 6 years ago. I can't remember things half the time, I have large clots during menstrual, I'm anemic now, weight gain, dizziness etc..
I'm miserable now. I love not having more kids but hate my body now 😢

Thank you for speaking the truth. I suffered over a decade before realizing that the TL was the cause. The decline came on gradually and was body wide. The symptoms seem unrelated to each other. But women suffering post tubal ligation can all relate to each other's symptoms.

So soon as I had my tubes tied. A year later I have a goiter on my thyroid. It just developed scared the crap out of me. And weight gain every year. And all other symptoms talked about. Period so heavy it’s a sin. But no doctor wants to tell you the truth.

I wish a reversal was covered by Canadian medical. Iam sick over this. My mental health is getting worst. My day to day life is awful. I need to find a way to pay for a reversal. I wish there was a place that helped women get better.

Yes! I would sign up to participate without a second thought! I got mine done almost 3 yrs ago & my health has steadily declined. This year has been the worst so far. The mental fog, chronic fatigue, nausea, dizziness & anemia have got a massive hold on me. At the end of the day, I end up falling asleep before my girls do! For me, this feels worse that being pregnant..... 😔

Am due in two weeks and was planning on getting a tubal ligation. So I decided to do some research because doctors say it's very safe no side effects which I doubt 100%, I wish to know every side effect be it good or bad so that when I decide to do it, I know what am getting myself in to, than doing it expecting a smooth life only to end up with some suffering that can't be reversed.

Check your diet. A couple of years after having my tubes removed I lost about 35lbs in about 8 months with a healthy plant based diet and exercise. Currently, it's been 5 years since I had my surgery. Diet and exercise make a world of difference.

@@wmd40 yes, it may be so, when you go through menopause but before that, just gaining more and more weight eating like before, doesn’t make sense. There are women who try to loose weight and eat well and exercise and still don’t loose weight becouse it’s their hormones that mess up everything.
I got this procedure done when l was 22years old '' ive never been the same person since.. im now 40 been to gps on and of for years..with severe bloating' painful cramps' heavier cycles' migraines almost daily' l swell up all the time ' loads of other complicated things related to this tubal ligataion' l always advice against this but l guess were all differnt.
I've found the explanations to my problem thank God someone knows what I'm going through.

Having a tubal ligation was the worst mistake of my life. I haven't felt like myself every since, and my health has extremely went down hill. If I had it all to do over with I never would have had this horrible surgery it's been such a nightmare. Mood swings, extreme weight gain, high blood pressure, and even diabetes, no energy, I feel like I'm trapped in someone's body with no way out!! Don't ever get this surgery!!
Tubal ligation can be reversed… hopefully in your case… or maybe taking progesterone as the doctor recommended.. Thanks for sharing your experience, hope you feel better
Thank you Doc. I really appreciate this information. I wish my gynecologist had explained this to me. I just had to have an ablation for heavy bleeding and everything went downhill after I tied my tubes.

Yes the ablation made it worst can we sue. I told him i was having pains in my left ovary n he suggested the ablation immediately i was too young for that n it wasn’t needed i need them clips off my fallopian tubes

Doctors should have to fully explain this to anyone looking into it. They just say you won’t be able to conceive anymore. Not that it’s going to screw your hole system up like it has done mine thank you for your knowledge I knew I wasn’t going crazy .

OMG having tubal ligation done is now the cherry on top of my Lupus/RA symptoms but i had to get it done it was stressful being pregnant and a high risk for me and both my children but God has bless them and they are doing great. Glad i got this info now i need to get help for these new problems😯
Same here! Was diagnosed with lupus SLE 6 yrs ago. Had my tubes tied 16yrs ago. But started having problems about 4 yrs afterwards. Stress, anxiety, fibromyalgia migraines, things started to get worse 6yrs ago. That’s when things got worse with my body.

being stuck on a hormone at any more natural than getting a tubal. Agree that it can cause issues for some women. I dont know that taking hormones would be the best option though in the long run
Interesting. I had tubal ligation in around 1997. Around 2009 I realised that I had lots of strange symptoms and put it down to getting older: approaching menopause etc., severe anxiety and exhaustion amongst other things. GP just zonked me out on SSRI which freaked me out as well. Lost my job because "I wasn't the same person" and couldn't handle tricky situations in my work and developed bad weight gain and bloating for no reason. Gout in my toes and the practice nurse ordered a blood test as many symptoms were the same as hers as a hypothyroid patient. Result was very high TSH and I was started on levothyroxine titration and that was in 2011. I have Hashimotos. I suppose I'm OK now but only from doing my own research and support groups. Doctors think it's all fixed easy-peasy with taking a little pill for life and I'm angry that he didn't order a blood panel from the start of my many visits when he more or less accused me of somatization and to get a grip. I have always wondered if my sterilisation might have played a part. Thank you for this food for thought doctor.
We're so sorry to hear what you went through. We have heard from so many women who feel horrible after having a tubal ligation. Yes, having your tubes tied does affect your hormone levels and can cause many symptoms - including menopausal symptoms. You are not crazy and you are not alone - and there is a natural solution - to restore the missing hormones with bioidentical hormones that are molecularly identical to those made by your body.

Anything permanent is not natural or intended by God and will cause problems. Just be careful!
I had my tubes removed 5 years ago and it's the best thing I've ever done. I keep recommending it because it's life changing in a wonderful way. After reading a lot of the stories here I'd strongly advice you to go see a qualified professional and everything is going to be great!. Also, vasectomies are easier to get approval and even to reverse so, that's always an option for your partner. I myself had my surgery before meeting my special someone. Now I'm married and no concerns whatsoever. Good luck!

I'm here trying to understand what is happening to my body. I'm 10 years post TL. And my periods are increasingly getting heavier and more painful. I have FMS as well. So I'm sure that has something Todo with it. But I can't take it anymore. It's so intense. It doesn't last long. But it's so bad. I don't have money to see a doctor.
Since I got my tubes clamped 6 years ago I have had internal bleeding and had to have emergency surgery, I lost one of my ovaries, my periods are heavier and I cramp so bad it takes me to the ground and I cant move. I have also had severe headaches..NEVER GET YOUR TUBES TIED. I'm getting mine untied I cant handle the issues anymore

I wish I knew this before my tubal ligation. I have PCOS and found since I have my tubal ligation my period is regular , but my tyroids has been playing up , having fatigue , not migraines but mood swings .

Omg girl me too! I wish I would've done my research before getting my tubes tied. I have the worst periods ever since I got my tubes tied. Heavy, heavy flow and blood clots and I've never had a problem with my period. Plus every month before I start my flow I'm so bitchy and can't help it. Sometimes it gets so bad that I don't even want to be around myself. 😔

This doctor is 100% right but with that being said I had mine tied and I couldn't be happier being off birth control after 15 years. I work everyday on balancing my hormones through food and adaptogens and that helps my hormones greatly.

I opt to tubal ligation becoz pills triggers my migrain and i have heart problems, causing palpitation and i'm in risk of getting pregnant again.. But thanks to this video Dr. Steven Hotze.. Now i know there is remedy, PROGESTERONE..to balance my hormones and i'm going to ask my Doctor about this.👍
Was it easy for your doctor to listen and give you the medication? I take beta blockers and have has 2 heart ablation due to PSVT, a heart condition that makes my heart have rapid heart beats. So birth control is not the best for me. So I wanted to let TL. But after hearing so many negatives I'm scared. If I could get it done but have a doctor prescribed me progesterone, O might do it. I'm already somewhat over weight and don't want to gain no more.
One thing the doctor did not mention is the high percentage of risk that the clips fall off causing more medical issues...

18 years later, I now understand why I feel the way I do.
I'm 21 with three kids. I had a tubal ligation December 9th, I have been bleeding 3 weeks. My belly button is infected. My doctor never told me before or after my surgery about post tubal ligation. He never talked to me about the surgery, side effects etc. He just made the appointment and did it. I have seen him three times since then for these issues and he has done nothing to resolve them. So I'm going to the er in a couple hours to hopefully get some test done.

@@dreamcatcherhomestead3823 Hello. I am doing well, thank you. No long term affects, and everything is healed. I still have the scar on pubic area but doesn't bother me. I had other kids to take care of so I couldn't sit still, and let my body heal. Because of that it did take a couple weeks to heal. As of now, so far so good. Healed, everything is good, no side affects, haven't had any problems with bleeding or my periods changing.
Would an OB prescribe the natural progestin and thyroid that you are talking about?

Hey Dr Hotze, I had a tubal ligation done in 05-06 and aboit 2 years ago was diagnosed with PCOS. Could the tubal ligation be partly to cause for this? I had no signs or symptoms of PCOS before my tubal. Could a tubal reversal help me? My tubes were clamped. Please help if you can

I had both tubes removed 5 years ago and I'm doing perfectly fine. Actually, physically and mentally I'm certainly doing better. I would say, do as you choose. Because pregnancies and hormonal birth control also carry a lot of risks. And not having both Fallopian tubes actually reduces your risk of fallopian and ovarian cancer. Do your research and ask your doctor. Best of luck!
I, too, lost one tube due to ectopic 16 years ago. Never noticed anything negative. Just got my other tube removed 9 days ago. So far so good.
