I see D. Dornbluth & Sohn has already been mentioned several times. I’m in the process of commissioning a watch with them now. Another excellent, fully handcrafted German watch brand at approachable prices is Jochen Benzinger. He has his own line and also collaborates with other top independent watch makers like Habring.
my anordain model 1 plum fume just wears so beautifully. 2 issues with the watch: The glare is just too much. their 6 layers of AR coating is not enough, and its a bummer to take away from the beautiful dial Its a pain to pull out the recessed crown. that being said, you can tell the watchmakers put a lot of care into this watch. Worth the wait
I love the Habring2 Foudroyante! It's such a cool and unique complication. You'll already know about this brand, but my choice to dive into would be Ressence. Their take is so utterly unique, mechanically and visually, that it deserves far more recognition. Another would be Lundis Bleus, who are making gorgeous, handmade and bespoke enamel dials for a price not far off Anordain.
Love ur content britt but you have missed out on Squale and Nivada Grenchen these brands are packed with history and heritage like no other and also come at a resonable price. Please check them out and have an awesome day! Best Regards from Sweden
I discover new brand all the time, always looks great,i saw them on youtube and for curiosity i go to the website of the new brand and always discover insane high price,so i prefer to stay with my clasical iconic brands..
So happy that you bring up Laurent Ferrier. They are just A M A Z I N G! , no BS, beautiful, technical, high quality, pricey but worth it! Pls bring more info on it!
Great video, others that come to mind Struthers, Arnold&Son, Atelier Wen, Pequignet, Maison Celadon, and Millecron. And I think Chronoswiss are kinda known but deserve more love. Oh and gold star for me as I knew all of these bar SUF but have heard of Stefan Sarpaneva. Big myself up.
Ming (from future classic 17.09 to gphg winning 17.06 Weiss to récord breaking lw.01... with that insane seconds animation) Dornbluth. So slept on it hurts. Pikullik has a cool story behind it as well as fine watchmaking Islander watches... lots of misses but the northport (sapphire bezel, omiwatari dial pattern, amazing colour fades, good bracelets), the great wave and some of their pilot models are amazing bang for buck) Maurice lacroix...slept on high horology like their roue carre Mhule glashutte. No gimmicks. Just solid watchmaking. Orient. Better and more interesting than seiko for less money.
Britt, This is one of your best videos! It’s so much fun learning about new brands. I would add: Nivada - a revival of an older Swiss brand that has reissued a number of its classics, including the Antarctic and Depthmaster. Peguinet - a French company that makes beautiful watches with an in-house caliber
Been watching watch videos for 10 years and have never heard of any of these brands, which says a lot about how the watch video community works. Really interesting, thank you.
Just recently found your channel. Awesome content! Love it 😊. I’ve been thinking about adding a unique tool watch to my collection. Something with heritage, maybe some unique attributes or even some firsts in the industry. Looking for something kind of under the radar. I have been interested in the new ZRC lineup (the smaller 38 or 39mm ZRC Grands Fonds no date) or maybe a Vulcain Nautical with alarm and rotating decompression scale on the dial. However, reviews are very hard to come by and to top it off there aren’t very many boutiques in the states that sell them. Wondering if you would review either one or both? Or just share your thoughts? Or maybe you have some unique/ cool tool watches that you could recommend. Another cool piece I think you could probably review is the Favre-Leuba Bivouac or really anything from this company. Super cool and old company with unique design language and interesting features. Thanks again for sharing your unique voice!
Really just looking for a good tough under the radar tool watch with good water resistance (preferably screw down crown) tired of same old stuff from the big brands.
Nice video! A couple of the brands you mentioned were unknown to me. I suggest you something more: Kudoke from Germany, Minase from Japan and Ichnos from Italy.
My favorite is Ressence but you probably heared already of them :p So the first one should be Erebus and thei Ascent model. Second I'd go for Eone and their Bradley model.
Hi Britt , Try Hanhart . Great heritage , loved by the actor Steve McQueen, one of the first Type 20’s , small independent German Co working out of the Black Forest . Love your channel, keep up the good work , All the best , Chris Gilling .
RESCO Instruments Founded and Manufactured by a US Navy SEAL, made in Coronado CA home of West Coast SEALs. They may be open to lending you a few watches to review
Hi Brittany, Habring2 makes between 400 and 600 watches a year. Also worth mentioning is that they are 4 time GPHG winners. Kudoke is another brand worth mentioning.
Great intro to some other brands! Don’t recall you ever talking about Hanhart. Great German brand with some good pilot heritage for their chronos. Even the King of Cool wore a 417 ES! Also Squale with dive heritage back to the 50s and some newer lower price points in Scurfa and Unimatic.
Fiona Kruger, one of the greatest figures in contemporary watch design. Scottish and Swiss trained. Her watch designs will blow your mind. She currently designs her movements with the most wildly artistic plates and bridges imaginable and has Agenhor build her movements. Look at her website. A whole different meaning to high horology.
Awesome idea, I would love to hear some words about Ollech and Wajs: legit and interesting history, good value the money goes into the watch itself and not into non sense marketing, they are bullet proof and built like a tank
I'd say An0rdain is pretty well known since the wait list is years long. I do give them credit for being transparent with where you are on the list and my personal experience is that their timeline was accurate.
Love your channel, but no, I don’t think I need to know about any of these watchmakers… at least not until I hit the lottery…well…nope not even then😜 You still got a thumbs up 👍!!!
Hope you don’t know this one, Baltic is a French brand proposing some vintage design timepieces! They are very cool looking watches and almost entry based, between 500 and 1500€ 😉
I believe Habring2 made 50 watches a year when they first started in 2004. By 2021/2022 They were making 200 a year. I had to wait over 6 months for my COS-Felix, delivered in September 21, which was one of 17 made from 2018 to 2021 when it was discontinued. Then In June 22, I bought a Doppel-Felix. These were limited to 20 a year and are also discontinued now. The delivery waiting time is now closer to 12 months. In the 2024 Wristwatch Annual it states they make 250 watches a year with 4 employees.
Habring ‘squared’? 🤔 Together with Garrick goes to prove truly hand-made/finished watches can only be made in very small numbers - unless you believe big watch makers employ tens of thousands…to operate those component-making machines 😂
Lotec Otsuka. Love the very industrial almost steampunk like design. Waiting for the day they eventually open up sales to outside of Japan only residents. 2nd hand prices are nuts for them now and not even going to entertain paying those kinds of premiums for the watches 2nd hand. IF you could buy them new, they are quite reasonable in price, IMHO. But, very cool Japanese independent brand and original designs, none the less.
H20 Watches are a favorite German microbrand of mine. The name is puzzlingly generic but their watches are typically German over-engineered and quite customizable. I personally own a Helberg CH6 1000m diver, bronze case and bezel, super-domed crystal, deep blue dial, on a sharkskin strap.
This will get some hate from a ton of people: San Martin Watches not so much the homages but the newer original lines like the new Gada SN0129 or the GMT version. Also Kuoe, I don’t own one yet but like cmon the Royal Smith Chrono has to be the classiest old money looking watch ever I’ve seen. And Islander watches, shoutout to Mark and his new Varsity collection coming soon, I didn’t buy a San Martin because I want the new Varsity Watch when it releases.
I've always thought Horage to be a brand that deserved more attention. If Horage is too well known, Ochs und Junior is another brand I believe deserves more attention.
Ooh fun! Let’s see, some brands I never or rarely see discussed: Dubey & Schaldenbrand Jaquet-Droz Cuervo y Sobrinos D.Dornblüth & Sohn Roger Dubuis Corum Daniel Roth Abingdon
I am so excited that my anOrdain is scheduled to be built in 2025, and yes, the slot is specifically bequethed in my last will and testament just in case. 🤞
The best thing you can do, IMO, to improve your Japanese pronunciation, is learn how the vowels are pronounced. A = "ah", E = "eh", I = "ee" (like in see), O = long O sound, and U = "oo" (like in taboo). That, and stop pronouncing karaoke "carryokee." Ka Ra O Kay - The last one is more of a PSA 🙂
Highlighting unknown or lesser known watch brands is always a worthwhile endeavor and I truly appreciate you for sharing these.
Except how many of can afford them? Maybe Kurono, which are always sold out though
"XH" in Albanian stands for "J", therefore Rejep Rejepi
Red abd black I dress eagle on my chest
Exactly and everyone could learn it, if he/she wants.
Very helpful , ty.

Mine is estimated to take 4 more months, but having visited their studio in Kalbe and looking at how small yet passionate the team is, I understand.
Best kept secret in the German watch industry, IMHO.
D. Dornblüth & Sohn get my vote. Also, not sure if I’m correct but I’m reading Habring2 as Habring (squared)
@@gmbell258 that also works
I waited 14 months for mine, but it was worth it!
Id love to see you feature Titoni - a Swiss family brand with a long history.

Kudoke and RGM
Wonderful video, Britt! Enjoyed learning about new brands, and seeing their designs.
Don’t forget KUOE KYOTO. My favorite is the 36mm Royal Smith
Yes, or the more “artisanal” Japanese brands as well. There more to Japanese watchmaking than Seiko/casio
So happy that you bring up Laurent Ferrier.

Not the most unknown brand, but Nivada Grenchen!😮💨
Alsta! Great history, amazing quality and a connection to a classic movie. I love my Alsta Nautoscaph ❤
Just checked your videos...no sign of Unimatic...just bought one myself, which I thought I'd never do...but did.

Great topic Britt!
Hope the bub is giving you enough sleep.
If I may suggest two German brands for you to checkout, Hanhart and, Dornblüth und Sonne.
Tell about Kleynod watches. Some pieces are very good. And affordable
Ahh, Britsy's video for late night work and a voice worth listening to while working
Been watching watch videos for 10 years and have never heard of any of these brands, which says a lot about how the watch video community works. Really interesting, thank you.

De Rijke & Co make awesome watches too. I'd love one of their simpler Miffy watches so much. But also hard to get.
Even though I have been into watches for more than 10 years, I learned a few new brands. Great video and selection
Britt stop putting everyone onto my grail brands (before I get them) 😭😭
Nice video! A couple of the brands you mentioned were unknown to me. I suggest you something more: Kudoke from Germany, Minase from Japan and Ichnos from Italy.
Hello Britt, how about Kallinich & Claes, Petermann Bedat and Naoya Hida?
Incredible content! I normally don’t subscribe but this was awesome and you did an incredible job informing me. Thank you
My favorite is Ressence but you probably heared already of them :p
So the first one should be Erebus and thei Ascent model.

Ressence... Love that brand
Please have a look at Alexander Shorokhoff - their motto is 'Art on the Wrist'. German watch brand with really unique designs and affordable prices.

Do you plan on doing a review of any microbrands? Like brew or vario?
Should be a brew review but it was a while back.
Hi Brittany,
Habring2 makes between 400 and 600 watches a year. Also worth mentioning is that they are 4 time GPHG winners.
Kudoke is another brand worth mentioning.
Very cool video. do more like this! I love to know more about the world of watches. This is way better than rolex and tudor content.

Her stuff is amazing creatively. What do you wear them with?
Junghans, Hamilton, 🤔
Bamford, Camden, Dan Henry, Geckota, Luminox, Momentum, Mr Jones, Phoibos, RLT
I picked up a Scalfaro earlier this year and it's just impressive. German brand with race car driving influence.
Awesome idea, I would love to hear some words about Ollech and Wajs: legit and interesting history, good value the money goes into the watch itself and not into non sense marketing, they are bullet proof and built like a tank
My FAV watch reviewer! ❤ ❤ ❤
funny - I'm waiting delivery for an anordain later this year, and have a garrick on order set to arrive summer next year. habring also on my list.
Very nice! Recommendations for the next one: Hautlence, Armin Strom, Trilobe, Wise, and J.N. Shapiro. Best wishes to you and your baby!
Chronoswiss, Kudoke, Ming, Ressence
Kurono is indeed fabulous. I'm lucky to have 2 of them. Pictures don't do them justice.
Cabot Watch Company CWC utilitarian time pieces with an interesting history and British military connection 👍🏼
Staudt Chronometrie from the Netherlands.
I love Habring. Im thinking about buying the Erwin.
Favre Leuba. Second oldest watch brand. For some reason there is absolutely no talk about it
The Schoflield Watch Company Obscura. The Damascus steel case is a thing of beauty and quite unique
I'd say An0rdain is pretty well known since the wait list is years long. I do give them credit for being transparent with where you are on the list and my personal experience is that their timeline was accurate.
Excellent video.
I really love the ROUE (wheel in french) watches. They are inspired in the face cars from 60' and
70', looks so good.
Is it habring two or habring squared?
its habring two
@@Scotttarlow thanks
The 2 stands for Richard and Maria, two Habrings
It's a superscript so should be Habring squared. Now whether they intended that or not might be a different matter but as shown it is squared.
was bugging my ocd too🤪@@mosmarb
Love your channel, but no, I don’t think I need to know about any of these watchmakers… at least not until I hit the lottery…well…nope not even then😜
You still got a thumbs up 👍!!!
@brittpearcewatches - what watch do you have on your wrist?
It’s a Fears Edwin party dial.
Sherwood (as in Robin Hood), UK microbrand start up.
I’d love to hear your opinion on Yema and watches with their newer micro rotor movements.
Straum have some incredible dials
Thank you! It would be great if you could make a reference about price!
… and BCHH

For Simon Brette, I sent email very early, filled in the form, did everything I could or wait until I pass away. Still have no idea how to get one.

I'm surprised more people don't talk about Fortis. The Stratoliner is a super cool watch and not expensive.
Epic watches 🙌🏻
Surely it’s Habring squared.
:edit: I just had a look at the Kurono Tokyo website and OMG they’re all gorgeous.
Congrats! May you and your hubby find some sleep with your new addition!

TLDR - the AnOrdain is obtainable. Just adore the rest from afar.
Please talk about Krayon, Ludovic Ballouard, Fiona Kruger, Ressence, Konstantin Chaykin, Beaubleu, Voutilainen, Berneron and Sartory Billard.
9 verry nice brands
And Carl Sucht & Söhne is also a watchmaker in Austria
I've always thought Horage to be a brand that deserved more attention. If Horage is too well known, Ochs und Junior is another brand I believe deserves more attention.
I’ve just bought a Model 2 from AnOrdain 36mm orange fume. 😂😂
Ooh fun! Let’s see, some brands I never or rarely see discussed:
Dubey & Schaldenbrand
Jaquet-Droz
Cuervo y Sobrinos
D.Dornblüth & Sohn
Roger Dubuis
Corum
Daniel Roth
Abingdon
Dornbluth is amazing and the people their are incredibly patient and helpful. Dry underrated for some reason
Otsuka Lotec is another awesome company
Chronomètre Contemporain must be one of the most beautiful designs out there.
Ming Watches
Marine Chronometer Offshore Professional. (Only 175-180) in the world sadly, the owner and designer
Lorne Gifford passed away.
Dufrane, I own two and both are just great.
I am so excited that my anOrdain is scheduled to be built in 2025, and yes, the slot is specifically bequethed in my last will and testament just in case. 🤞
Brit, check out Nivrel, especially on the higher end.
Lebois and co!
Serica gmt is pretty good, ceramic bezel, enamel dial and when buying on the website you can choose the crown can be on 3 o’clock or 9 o’clock
Armand Nicolet watches from Tramelan.
Very affordable beauty.
Intrigued by Leica watch given their reputation for quality camera manufacturing, which the digital age has somewhat overshadowed
1:30 Ludovic Ballouard only produces 12 pieces a year

Roger Smith makes very very few per year.
I don’t think a lot of folks know about Stowa.
Agreed. I’ve been to their manufacture and have a couple of their watches. Great value.
I’m watching this on the toilet. Thanks 🙏
