Welcome to another Episode of Ross Reviews AU on this weeks Video we go for a drive in this Ford FG XR6 Turbo Falcon.. A Family Sized 4 door sedan with the legendary 4L Inline 6 Turbo Barra Engine! This has had some mods thrown at it but honestly are quite minor for the performance! this will now run a 9.97 down the quarter mile* Thats Faster than a Porsche 911 Turbo S that can typically achieve a 10.1! Truly a mad machine!

A tire makes a world of difference.
If you take those race stars off and put on some 20s+ walkies it would just shred the rubber bands off lol.

Question for you Ross. After driving lots of different barras, what do you like the best for the street, a barra with a gt3582r on stock manifold or a barra with a gen 2 gtx3582r or a gen 1 gtx3582r, can you elaborate on streetablility, spool up, lag etc for the 3 turbos on a barra? I currently have gt3582r .70 comp housing on my fgx and have a gen1 gtx and gen 2 gtx supercores sitting in my shed, im wondering which one i should switch to. I think maybe my car might be faster to 100kmh with my gt3582r but woulf really like your opinion since youve driven them all. Thanks man.😂

Wow, 27 lbs of boost on a basically stock engine bar springs and studs,lucky he on e85 but wonder how long before Rodney comes knocking😂,great review John as usual,we love the barra
This car is more roadtuned then dyno'd. He has it super dialed, but i feel that because its always being tweaked for road driving thats the reason its the way it is. Definitely not uncom for these to go 750whp on sbe for years though.
I felt a bit shocked that it seemed so little work done to make such a quick time! But probably is playing with fire a little.. built box tho
We just pulled the motor out this weekend and it’s mint it’s been on 25+ pound for 2 years and hasn’t showed one sign of being hurt, Jon is spot on with my old man tuning the car if anything was funny we were straight onto it finding the problems and fixing them 🤘🏼
I love the fact that you have done what you have on minimal mods,for me I was just wondering how long it would last at that boost was all,you may have got a strong engine and I guess tuning helps,I’m glad it’s still mint,I have a bf f6 with a pulsar gen 2 3582 but still on 98,I push it to 21 lbs but that’s all I be game to,has studs and springs@@CYC041_

17x7 on the front 15x8 on the back bro utes would be able to fit 15x10s tho
There are few cars that at high vehicle speed and the tyres just start breaking loose, ever so gracefully 'just searing the edges of your tyres sir! Inflating the tyre and giving you more stability as you get faster, sir!'
Things are wicked fast, picking up my 560whp fg xr6t Tuesday hopefully (Just waiting on the rwc to be done) manual and wow they haul arse ,never been genuinely scared in car before until last Saturday when we test drove it 😂
Similar mods to this bar the turbo side intake and pulsar turbo, factory 3576 was high flowed and rebuilt though but does 560 whp and 900 n something nms torque 👌 can't wait tbh ,if this can go 9.97 then mine should be capable of very very low 11s maybe a high 10, will need some radials though, the poor potenzas struggle to hold on 😂
If it's a zf with the right rubber you should do around 10.5@128-130mph with that power.

How’d ya go with getting a tyre to fit without throwing the abs code?I’ve got the same rear wheels and tyre combo but having a hard time finding front tyres

Wouldn't take much more but torque is worse for traction - big stock turbo helps pushing the power higher in the rev range

We had the 4WD Turbo Laser 30 years ago that was faster than the Porsche Turbo...And the 4 litre 4 speed TD Cortina could blow the doors off V8 Commodores and Toranas...

I would love to do drag races like car wow but here In aus it’s very challenging.. definitely a Barra like this would take on some mega cars!
9.9 with a 1.54 60 ft is easily under 3 seconds to 100. You have to know how to read a time slip. Not one mention of the 140mph Trap speed.
I figured low 3 but definitely could be in the 2 second rang 🤷♂️ I’m not much of a drag guy but keen to learn
@@RossReviewsau Basically anything in the 9s is almost always going to be in the 2s at the dragstrip. That Turbo S you bought up is hitting 2.5-2.7 comfortably.
I'm all for Barra Falcons, But on the street the Turbo S will demolish this in every single way.
A manual would give it a good run for it's money, the fg falcons actually handle pretty good ,they've got a fantastic weight distribution, the engine sits further back than previous models which helps the handling greatly 👌
Except in a straight line, which is what we are talking about...

@@5lcalais1 A manual Falcon would be demolished by a 911 in every single aspect of handling. As you'd expect from a half a million dollar exotic.
@@madrx2 150km/h is about 5 seconds of racing. In a striaght line down the 1/4 strip, your beloved 9/11 is taking a massive L and it would also take an even bigger L in roll racing. It may win off the line briefly, but this car is doing about a 2.8-3.2 0-100km/h based on its 60ft time, so even that is debatable.
141 mph on the slip says theres more in it too.

Really dont know why people are jizzing over the time when it has that much boost and drags on. Vast majority of cars shown in RRs vids have street tires. I swear most ppl on this channel dont even consider traction.
