- "Baby’s Coming Home” was originally written by Jerry Reed. This song was recorded and filmed at TuneSmith Studio outside of Nashville, TN in the spring of 2021. It’s on Tommy Emmanuel’s EP Accomplice Series Vol. 2 featuring Richard Smith, and it features both Tommy Emmanuel and Richard Smith on guitar. The video was directed by Joshua Britt and Neilson Hubbard for Neighborhoods Apart.

I love the songs with the great chord progressions, I can't do all the technical stuff but who cares, I can least get the melodies..
It's not a Tommy Emmanuel's recording if it doesn't have Tommy's "uhmm" "that's right" "yeah' commentary throughout the song :)
Even if there was no commentary I would do it myself lol

I know it's basically sacrilegious to say anything about Chet... but Richard Smith, and Tommy Emmanuel are both better than Chet Atkins or Jerry Reed.
And I intend that with all the respect due the two legends who helped mold the guitar world.
It is a great shame that Smith and Emmanuel are not the household names that Atkins and Reed were.

Tommy and Richard are great together because both seem to enjoy playing rhythm as much as lead. And, they're very creative in doing so. Tommy seems to really relish it, and his skills were undoubtedly sharpened playing with his world-class talented brother Phil those many years.

I like the way tommi is so comfortable letting other players step out and show their geat talent. I have seen Tommi live 4 times (and counting), shook that right hand. And have his autograph on my old yamaha. To describe him to a guitar player that hasn't heard him yet, I call him " Chet Atkins on steroids"!

It is of my opinion that Tommy is the greatest guitarist to ever live and the fact that I know he would disagree with this makes him that much more of a legend. I'll get a maton one day and give it my all to play like him.

Two finger style masters playing master guitarist and composer Jerry Reed's music. Jerry Reed was both the Bethoven and the Eddie Van Halen of country music. Great tribute guys !!
I heard Chet play this accompanied by Jerry Reed, then later with Paul Yandell. This is one of the few Chet pieces that Tommy and Richard play that isn't played at a bit faster pace than the Chet versions. They certainly honor the song as Chet, Jerry and Paul played it.

What makes these two stand out from most other guitar players is that they are constantly playing a handful of strings all at the same time creating a full sound. Just amazing how they can do it. Most pleasant to listen to.
