I discovered Tommy in 98 on the Fingerpickers CD. I used to come home from work, put the speakers on the floor like 2 giant headphones, lie down and listen to Saltwater on repeat.

I'll never forget the time I met you in Macon and Athens, Ga. You asked me what my favorite song was (its saltwater) after your Macon show and invited me to the Athens show the next night. I drove 5 hours to Athens and I was rewarded when you came back out after your main show in a tee shirt and older guitar, look me dead in the face and played this amazing piece of music. You are a living legend Mr. Emmanuel. I'll never forget what you told me about what it means to be an artist and connecting with the fans personally. Why you'd rather play a room of 300 than 3000. Most performers have fans... you on the other hand have thousands of people that love you on a very personal and meaningful level. You truly touch peoples lives Tommy. Thank you for existing!

A truly humble man who's an open book to his many fans.
Apart from his mastery of his instrument, what places him in the premier standing among thousands of other guitarists is the pure joy he takes in making music for his audience, whether one or a thousand. There is clearly a spark of love and a spirit from God in what Tommy does.

On Feb. 29th 2020 I had the spiritually rewarding gift of hearing Tommy Emmanuel perform live from about 10 ft. away. I had finished radiation treatment for prostate cancer about 10 days prior to the performance. I Thank God for my treatment for cancer and I also Thank God for the gift of hearing Tommy Emmanuel live. His Love of playing and sharing it with all of us is as I see it, "A Gift from God".
There are many great guitarists, but only a select few that can truly speak with their instrument. Greats like Trucks, Asato, Vai, Aldrich, Schon, Nuno, Sykes, Eric Johnson and the late, great SRV, EVH, and Jeff Healy all belong in this small group.
You are included in this very exclusive list for me, Mr. Emmanuel. Truly a master of your craft. Such fantastic dynamics, emotion and technique in your playing. Truly extraordinary!

Only Tommy can play that song as beautiful as it sounds. That guitar has such a warm sound to it but only a Master can make it sing like that. 😊👏👏👏👏👏👏

Superb. Wow. I used to use picks in the 60s when I discovered black southern blues pickers in the folk revival. Now don’t even use a thumb pick and listening to those put a great big smile on my face.

I had been to the best concert in my entire life.
I bought 4 CD’s. I had been a Martín Guitar fan
however… thinking how do I get this tone… well buy a Maton! So I went to Music Mart in Solana Beach and played a TE signature model. It was amazing, but I didn’t have the dough. So I bought a used Martín. Tried “Angelina”, but in the end I listened to videos and read stories and it came down to, you just have to love it like Tommy does. I’ll never play like him, but he and his music have inspired me just to enjoy smile and keep playing. Thanks TE! Great playing

I totally agree with you here. Master Emmanuel is in my eyes a mucisian that doesn't have anyone that comes close to his music. He's from an higher class than just being a mucisian. It's always a true joy to see his wizzard fingers caress his instrument, and hear this Heavenly Melodies. 😇🎼🎵🎶

Yup, rare is a song with such a perfect melody but also with so deep lyrics. We sung this one in the fifth grade in 1994. Now we're still dealing with the 'hole in the sky'. So prescient!
