- 2019 is the final year of production for the Ford Fiesta in the USA. To say goodbye Ford has introduced a ST-Line edition. It basically has the body of the turbocharged Fiesta ST without the turbo. Will Ford reach a group of interested car buyers? Check out all the details!

I bought a Fiesta ST Line a couple weeks ago and although the car is definitely not an ST, I’m happy with it. I’m currently a college student so I didn’t have the budget to get myself in an ST because that was just around $23,000 and I got my ST Line for $15,999. The ST Line is literally just a regular Fiesta SE engine with some ST-inspired features. There are more pros to this than people give the ST Line credit for: first off, you get the sporty look of an ST-type of car. Minor differences but it’s expected. Secondly, you have interior ambient lighting around the car, which looks really cool at night. And most importantly, fuel economy. Though it is not a HUGE difference, the ST Line goes up to 27/37 mpg vs the 25/32 on the ST.
The ST is obviously a better car overall, and if you have the budget for it, then yes, I would highly recommend it over the ST Line, but I’m really happy with my ST Line at the moment, and hopefully when I’m done with college I can get myself into a Focus RS like that sexy one just sitting there in the background!

As an ST owner I don't like that the Line version steals the ST looks, oh well. I wish one day Ford would make an RS fiesta, that'd be killer

@@jessaphillips2846 Other than the shifter handle, they share no parts. Very difficult to swap/integrate anything between the two platforms. Even though they are very similar in execution of design!

Not sure what your referring to "clueless marketing Dept". Ford's Marketing department is following corporate directives and marketing their Suv's/crossovers and trucks. The cars will eliminate themselves from dealership lots without the need to place market buys. Featuring The fiesta ST lineup would be a waste of money. It's disappointing, but in the US. The fiesta line-up is a one year (2019) and done. if you're looking for a cool little performance car with a low price point. It's a solid little vehicle to consider while it's still available. You can't blame the marketing department for what they're told to market. I never owned a Ford, but after test driving several other car and Suv brands. My wife and I both traded our sedans for two new Ford Suvs. I credit Ford's marketing getting our attention creating a visit, test-drive and a couple purchases.

Ford's had an ST Line in Europe for years. Insurance is a lot higher on a real ST, so ST Line cars are popular there. This car would appeal to people who like the sportier looks, but don't need the power and stiff ride, or don't want to drive a stick.
It is just bizarre how Ford is doing this and they are ending production in a few months!

I really like this car. I bought a white with black accents 5 speed manual transmission version a few months before the pandemic to use as my commuter. It really is a fun car with the manual, great on gas, and very maneuverable on the roads, and it looks really nice too.
Picking up the 2019 ST Fist. I don't want to miss it and regret not buying it before its gone completely. Wife owns a 2016 Fiesta SE and I enjoy driving it. ST is going to make life so much fun driving!
Aside from not having the ST badge the ST-Line actually looks better and more aggressive than the FieST. However, the actual Fiesta ST is much better overall.

I understand is doing this but unlike Toyota with a TRD the RS and St were true performance editions! Not some stuck on badge so Ford wants to put a stuck on badge they are more than welcome to everybody is doing it. But it does take away from the specialty of a fiesta ST

As the proud owner of a 2018 focus ST, this is disrespectful to the badge. Also I got my car on a discount for 20200 and thus car being 18000 there is no excuse to not get a car with twice the power and double the space. What the hell.

Raiti rides! i love how you support manual trans! we need more ppl like you. #savethemanuals. there has been alot of cars i was going too buy but no manual offered so they lost my sale. i will not, I will not! ever! drive or buy an automatic, i hate autos with every ounce of my being. i want too Drive the car not Ride in the car. driving manual isnt even that hard. once you learn its like riding bike and becomes second nature. and its fun 24/7. even if its a slow car.

Honestly I've seen st fakes done by ppl online in the past. However I do agree this is a slap in the face to st owners for sure.

When i passed my test in 1990, when i was 17 years of age, my first car was a 1986 fiesta 1.6 XR2 in rosso red, needless to say i only owned it for a short while, 8 months, till i wrote it off. Luckily only the car was hurt, great car though!

just purchased a slightly used 2019 ST Line for the mileage as my commuter car. fun to drive I like all the technology my Tacoma doesn't have. Not as swift at the real ST but will serve the purpose I bought it for.

Not in the netherlands they won't... Every 30 old cuck drives an ST-line in the lease! I myself have a mk6 fiesta st mountune, but these ST-line idiots think they can keep up to a real ST! Thanks to our terrortax on fun cars, an ST-line is 22.000 euros and an ST is 32.000... So I get why people buy an ST-line over an ST, but you would almost stumble over all the bmw 120i's and d's over here, wich cost even more then a fiesta ST (with almost no options ticked on the Beemer!)! I guess dutchies think a Beemer gives them some sort of status, well not if you lose to a little fiesta wich is cheaper!

Also you can get a brand new ST from around this price as well. Hell even a used one with few miles for around $15,000. Trust me, car enthusiasts arent gonna buy this over the regular st anyways. Most ppl soo buys these cars are budget owners, college students or businesses as commuter cars. This was a poor effort by the marketing team to get a quick buck before the car is completely done. Especially since the fiesta and st has interchangeable parts with each other.

Oh yea theres nothing wrong with this for ppl like him at all. However if I was Ford, I would haven't just slapped on the st bumpers and stuff . But i know since the car is dead now, Ford wouldn't have invested on designing new things for it. So why not rehash? 🤷🏾♂️
Honestly I love this car, wish ford would’ve put a turbo on it while still keeping it automatic. Chevy made the sonic a turbocharged engine while being automatic.

what a shame America, in the UK, our new 2019 Ford Fiesta range has digital display for the driver display and that is on standard fiesta models, also depending on the extras, you can get navigation built in for the centre console display and also the rear cargo compartment or boot as we call it, can electronically adjust to give more room.

It seems you're right, they are trying to push out old stock as new with a few new features added on just to sell out the model range. I love my fiesta, so small, easy to park and quite nippy to drive, even so mine is a 5 gear 1.4L titanium. Manual gear box is standard in Europe.

I commute 90 miles per day. I work for a non-profit that deals with wildlife and I am very environmentally conscious. I love the fiesta, though there's a handful of things I would have liked to change (disc brakes on rear, I hate the lock/unlock button, a couple other minor gripes). I had a 2017 Fiesta S Sedan. 3 accidents and 59k miles in 2 years. I had 0 issues with it, other than the 3 times I was rear ended but that wasn't the fiesta's fault. I took a different route home the other day and saw an ST line from the road. I really wanted an ST, but I still owed a lot on my sedan and didn't think I could afford it with the negative equity. The ST line looks nice but I ended up trading in for a 2019 Fiesta SE hatchback since you're really just paying for an appearance package. For my commute, I love how affordable maintenance and tires are for the fiesta and it's great on gas. I enjoy driving them. An ST would be more enjoyable, but it would also be sad to put the kind of miles I drive on an ST. For cars under 20k, the fiesta and the Veloster were all I was interested in. Above 20k, I'd love a Subaru Crosstrek or Civic Sport Hatchback. I love the look of hatches but for those who need more storage it should be said that the sedan has a good sized trunk and the hatch has way less storage space behind the rest seat. I will say, my purchase experience at Mathews Ford in Newark, OH was an unpleasant one and even if Ford were continuing to sell passenger cars here I would not go there again. I almost left and went to the Hyundai dealer to look at the Veloster. Overall, I'm happy with the Fiesta and won't take my frustration with the dealer out on an innocent car. One good thing is that my Thule Roof Rack swapped from the sedan to the hatchback without buying a new fit kit.
Ford launched the new Fiesta in 2017 for the European market. We get these everywhere, especially the ST Line trim with a manual gearbox.

1st counter-zonk, Joe. Being in the Auto industry for over 20yrs I fully understand and agree with the "water down" version of top level vehicles. It allows many to have a high level vehicle with out the extra $10-12k for a bigger engine or manual. Constructive criticism..... all good 🍻

My fiesta st has been taking a lot of wear doing daily duty. I have a black one and I’m not at all a fan of the paint, but this is the paint color I fell in love with on the focus ST. I want a shell of one of these to put my ST’s guts into 🤣

The problem with me driving a manual is that i stall too much but id still get the manual because, like what everyone agees on, they are more fun to drive than automatics.

I got one last week at $14000 its good car for the way the price of gas is sky rocketing. Definitely a gas saver. I could care less now about it being a sports car or turbo engine. When it comes to that I wont debate. definitely a no brainer to save gas. I live in California near Los Angeles its insane the price of gas.

It's actually rated at 197 by Ford but a lot of people think that's on the conservative side for insurance reasons.

Joe, I like your review of the 2019 Ford Fiesta ST-Line. I am actually considering buying one of these, in Outrageous Green Metallic paint. This car would suit me perfect, and it comes standard with Ford's Sync 3 that has Android Auto. I've been looking up and down for a small, economical car that has Android Auto, and this one has it. I don't need all of the real performance gear, I don't drive fast. I could drive this slow car slow and be perfectly happy with it. No kidding. In fact, Joe, your tester had the automatic in it and your test looked fine for speed for me. Again, for ME. I drive careful and slow, but this one would give me some entertainment out in New Mexico's many oakie country roads, many of them twist and turn. I will get one with a 5-speed, I had to laugh when I read "5-speed" instead of 6-speed. But out there in the oakie's I would push the car to my heart's content!

I would much rather take the same amount of money that you would spend on this and buy a used Focus ST3. Then you would have a bigger more powerful, much better car and thousands left over for modes.

The 2019 Ford Fiesta ST-Line has navigation with the standard Android Auto/Apple Car Play, so no worries there. You can just go in to an app on your Motorola Moto G4 like Google Maps and away you go.
OK something just occurred to me is Ford & GM given on the over seas market like Scotland ,UK
England etc I would have thought thay would be Booming over there. When those first came out I was looking at one at the time I was driving A 1978 Mercury cougar. so I got one foot in and in the seat and said no!! Joe, I'm actually considering getting one of these. They look fantastic, get great MPGs and are offered w/ an AT trans & cheap to insure. I think I would order an 'ST' badge for the rear tailgate though to finish the car off.

@@RaitisRides Having conversations with several people. Most thought Ford is discontinuing their car lineup completely. (Selective reading and hearing). For 2018. In Europe, the Fiesta sold 271,000 Sold units which is up from 255,000 (2017). In the US. Sells only totaled 51,730. Hopefully. Considering that the Fusion sells around 300,000 yearly in the US. It's possible Ford will rethink their decision and keep the Fusion in some form. If not a sedan, possibly a crossover. Thanks for the informative video.

I test drove one and didn't think it was all that great the shifters down to low and it's front-wheel drive and it has a lot of torque down low but no power at high rpm's and I'm talking about the ST turbo

I think that price point is where this little guy meets it's demise. That price makes it but head with:
1. Base model Civic and Corrolla.
2. The Fit, no matter how ugly it is,
3. The Accent/Elantra one two.
4. Add this whole suv/crossover fad. (come on, those are minivans/trucks with attitude)
Those are viewed as better, more reliable alternatives. That, and the fact that Ford is good at trucks and not so good at anything else. And thus, this cute, little guy will be featured in a"Whatever happened to" video a few years from now.

Sorry Joe, my first time issuing a thumbs down. Nothing about this car is striking to me. the real ST with the turbo, might have been a car I would consider, but probably not. For me, its all about the ponies, and torque. I don't pretend to know all of Fords lineup of vehicles, but the only model, off the top of my head, that I find worthy of my attention is the Mustang. I know in the past, Ford has had some models with a "sho" package, such as the Taurus, but to be truthful, I don't even know if they still make those models anymore. I know you have to make videos for all types of people and cars, but I gotta have them ponies. Thanks, keep em' comin'.
Ford really missed the mark here with this Fiesta. It is going to be interesting to see how things are going to go.
