The original Ford Fiesta ST from 2013 was a modern classic. The combination of appealing pricing, point-and-shoot driving dynamics and a sweet turbocharged engine ensured it won a legion of fans.
Its follow-up from 2020 continued that formula and brought with it a refinement missing from the original. But it was just as fun to drive.
Ford has launched a mid-life update for the sprightly hot hatch, which despite arriving in Australia halfway through 2022, is still officially an MY22 model. This latest version introduces upgrades to interior tech and exterior styling, as well as a 30Nm bump in torque.
But given it’s facing a ballsy competitor from Hyundai, has Ford done enough to keep its B-segment hot hatch crown?
Does it represent good value for the price? What features does it come with? 8/10
As far as mid-life updates go, the Fiesta ST’s isn’t significant. But the additions bring with it a bump in price. At $34,490, before on-road costs, it is $1200 more expensive than the previous version.
It still represents good value and is only $500 more than its newest rival, the Hyundai i20 N ($32,990 BOC). It’s quite a bit cheaper than the other big gun in the light hot hatch battle, the Volkswagen Polo GTI ($38,750 BOC).
Another offering in this group is the Suzuki Swift Sport which is the price leader, starting from $27,990 BOC.

I dont know why so many people are not liking the new front pumper. It looks way more beefy than the pre facelift. I'm picking mine up in 2 weeks, also in Agate Black. Can't wait for it! Very nice and relaxing video!

Ford outside of the States has some really fun cars while Ford in the US has electric trucks that can barely tow.
Australia just stopped bring both the Fiesta and Focus ST models, orders will only be filled for those that ordered by the cut off date in September 2022
i'd rather have the yaris GR in the states but we get neither. :(

the fews luckys ones that could got 1 facelift 2022 are the best ones, its the same has 2023 but with the option on 3 doors, and all extras available on the car..

On my MK8 ST3 I have folding mirrors on this new ST3 there aren't and it's more expensive.

These new st are missing so much no power mirrors on a st is not exceptable it supposed be top of the range. Also hearing some not getting digital dash now either. And stopping 3 doors most people want a st in a 3 door
I much prefer the looks and practicality of the 5-door. They are excellent value for money.
At least you still can buy one. Here in the US they don't exist anymore. The only fiesta we got was the MK7, not older or newer ones. Then it was canceled.

Probably the most fresh and awesome color for the MK8.5 ST. I also thought about ordering mine in Boundless, but even if I had, I wouldn't have gotten it since the color was already cancled in July....
