This Video is to demonstrate how the Park Assistant Plus with Surround View Package works. This video is shot while driving showing exactly how the features work in the BMW models that are equipped with it. How the vehicle can Parallel Park, Perpendicular Park and how the Back Up Assistant works. This will work in the new generation BMW 3, 4, 5, 7, 8 Series, X3, X4, X5, X6, X7, X3 M, X4 M, X5 M, X6 M, M3, M4, M5, M8 and their Competition variants as long as these vehicles are packaged with it.

When the temperature outside is in -ve double digits and you just started the vehicle in the cold weather with a freezing interior then the 25 degree temperature does help warm the vehicle quicker.
It is really quite fascinating and ingenious to be able to calculate all of that. My mind is blown on so many levels. However, it seems that the "parking mall" mode does not take the parking lines into consideration. As a result, the BMW is parked pretty much on the line, which gives the impression that the parking job is not good. This creates a situation where the next driver might need to back their car up and ends up blocking the lane. Additionally, depending on the orientation and whether the driver backed in or pulled in, it can be difficult for the driver to access the driver's seat. I wonder if the newer models take the actual drawn lines into consideration?
Thank you for this video. Will the vehicle help you get out of the parking spaces (either parallel or perpendicular)? If so, would you use the parking function or back-up function?

Great hack! I wish BMW just enabled this! Just some obvious questions. How did you turn the car off and then close the window? If the spot is too tight, how do you fit in to pull the car out of the spot? 😂

So this self (parallel and perpendicular) parking feature doesn't come standard but has to be added on as extra cost?

I don't understand the usefulness of the backup assistant. Other than it just remembers where you came from for 50 meters.
bit late but this has a very niche use indeed. Like driving into a small street which is not meant for cars without realising it. You drive & you drive and eventually the straat gets too narrow to continue. Now you have almost no room for error and it's much easier to make mistakes while driving backwards. That's when this feature would be very useful. Some people are just shit at driving backwards in general I guess, so that could also be useful to them anywhere.
When doing this in a manual, I take it you have to put the car in reverse manually, right?

Does the parallel parking only work on the right side of the vehicle?

I mean, it’s a left hand drive vehicle and you can parallel park legally on only the right side so yes, the vehicle is programmed that way. For countries that have right hand drive, they are programmed to park on the opposite side
