- Chilobrachys sp kaeng krachan Breeding update and rehouse
This update on a breeding project is not the news we wanted but this is the world of Breeding Tarantulas, unfortunately our attempts failed and this egg sack was infertile, there could be many reasons for this but we will never be sure, so we have rehoused our female and will now start to condition her for another attempt.

Video by Dave's Little Beasties don't forget to subscribe - Be Calm, Be Gentle and Love Your Spider
So interesting video dear Dave and Camera Lady, it's always fun to learn more! Hugs, Susanne. 👋😊👍🕷🥰❤🤗
She’s like “excuse me you are interrupting my meal!!!” She was thoroughly unimpressed! She really is something
Someone's who relatively new to old worlds,
Your vids are invaluable.
Rehouse masterclass😀
❤️❤️❤️❤️
She is my favorite, she's Gorgeous. Dave, I have watched other channels and you and Bethany are gentle and knowledgeable love watching! 😊❤
I rehoused my C versi the other day based on some of your techniques and it was all done within minutes. The last time I rehoused this spider it took close to 3hours. Awesome work Dave.
Fantastic glad to be of help 👍
I found your channel last week! Absolutely stellar. My wife has arachnophobia but I managed to convince her to come to the pet store and just LOOK at the spiderlings with me. She fell in love with a Caribena versicolor baby, which now it's housed right across the room from me - our first spider ever. Thank you and your skilled camerawoman for sharing your passion with us - your channel and work are a great inspiration to us. Cheers!
That is awesome!
Beautiful girl, very lovely, was always partial to black spiders. Great video Dave and great camera work Camera Lady!
Love the spider in the background just climbing around on the glass of its enclosure. As always, I love your videos and learning a lot!
Another fun and fascinating video of a real beauty! The subtle blue against that velvety black is like the color of shadows under a full moon! Thanks Dave!
You sir are the spider whisperer that's the most chilled kraken I've seen your relaxed chill method works so well your a credit to the hobby thanks for your brilliant videos 👌
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Yes, definitely the spider whisperer. I watch another channel where the guy definitely needs some lessons from the Spider Whisperer here
Wow just wow!!! My second favourite tarantula of all time. Absolutely gorgeous killing machine 🤣🖤🕷
She is pretty special 👍
Ive always been scared of spiders since i was a kid and i put on my pjs and found out there was a huntsman in them 😯 cue my dad chasing 7 year old me around the house trying to get my pjs off!! Plus im in australia so most everything here wants you dead!! 😂 but i have really come to love tarantulas thanks to you. They are so beautiful. Id never own one or even touch one but i really appreciate them now. I have a friend who is terrified too and i showed her some of your spiders and she was really suprised at how beautiful they were. She had no idea they were so colourful. She even liked the brazilian jewel trapdoor. I love that one!! Cute little fluffy pink legs! Anyway thanks for making me fear them less 😀
That’s awesome Emma we have a real treat for you coming if you like the Brazilian jewel ❤️👍
@@daveslittlebeasties oh great! Looking forward to it!
She is definitely my favourite Tarantula that you have Dave. A beautiful specimen. 👌
It always amazes me how good you are with rehouseing. And your Camera lady does an excellent job too. 👏 your videos are so good and i always forget the person filming that helps make them so good. God bless yall Later.
Incredible how mellow she was. Luckily you're not her mate! Thanks for another fascinating video.
Dave you really are the tarantula whisperer lol she's a bostin T I'm glad I've got one in my small collection can't wait for her to grow
Wow black velvet comes to mind when lookin at this gorgeous girl , shame about the egg sack but nature knows best another great vid and amazing work by Camera Lady as always ...
What a shame that the eggs where no good , hope you get a better result next time and she is a beautiful looking girl and I love all your set ups
Absolutely stunning girl there, thanks for sharing this Dave. I bought a kraken sling after watching one of your earlier videos. Mine has a bit of a way to go yet as he/she is only 10mm so has a long way to go.
I don't see much of it unless feeding, then the hunting instinct shows itself.
Yes Dave that's a really fine, beautiful looking specimen, an i can truly dig her enclosure.. i'm always on looking, super nice, funny and educational... love it!! See you on the next one.. 😉❤️
Fearsome name fearsome looking spider and a proven killer. God you just have to love her Dave. The Kraken is my favourite for sure. She was calm though today.
That is one stunning looking spider Dave. I do enjoy these black tarantulas and very underrated in my opinion. This could well be on my list of tarantulas to pick up at the next show I go to. Stay safe brother.
Wow she’s beautiful. Looks like she’s made of velvet. Gorgeous
I really enjoy your channel, for your professionalism, your calm demeanor, your knowledge and your fantastic and candid photography of numerous exotic species. I live in the Northeast US, where the largest spiders we have, are araneidae, such as argiope's and the araneus cavaticus. and several dolomedes or fishing spiders, as well as some very large bodied wolf spiders that I spot from time to time. As a child, spiders were my nemesis as I had many uncomfortable but in retrospect, memorable encounters with them. Gradually I became their advocate, and tried to spread wisdom about spiders to anyone who would listen. I do not keep spiders, but inadvertently live with many different varieties, as my wife and I do not put any effort into evicting them from our home. With a sun room full of various varieties of small, medium and large house plants, we often relocate spiders there in order to employ their hunting skills in exchange for room and board. Also, we virtually have no harmful poisonous species, so there is little concern for direct encounters with them. Thank you again for all of your careful, hard work and advocacy.
Awwww! Two of my favourite creations, Dave and the Kaeng Kraken. Proud of you both.
Ps: Dave my child , you should totally do a video update on your arid GBB rehouse....
Its coming 😂👍
@@daveslittlebeasties Infinite updates Dave!
This species is on my wishlist since I saw her in your pairing video - she is gorgeous 🖤 I can't really get any more spiders right now but once I have a little more space available again, I'll definitely get one. Awesome job rehousing her and great video, as always! 😊
She's absolutely glorious!! Her new enclosure looks great! You've taught me alot about tarantulas and their care... thanks!
LIke always, another amazing video Dave! I have never given this species a shot but after seeing this video they are beautiful! Also, your rehousings are simply amazing. little to no stress and no bolts! I need to get my hands a catch cup similar to that.
Its just a old cricket box 😂😂😂👍
Amazing Color on that Girl! Nice job Dave!
She's a stunner that's for sure, simply gorgeous 🥰
Lovely spider, shame about the egg sack. But at least You still have her. Hope the event at the weekend was good.
You are by far the best channel on UA-cam with tarantulas, you are so natural and most importantly you don’t tease the spiders to get a reaction, much love to you and your fantastic camera lady aka your wife! ❤️
Thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Very cool spider. Would love too see an update once she webbed it al up.
Cheers dave
Gorgeous ! Likely one of many OW equivalents to G. pulchra, colour-wise. Surprised that she didn't move around more when the catch cup came on her. Very well behaved for that instance.
Stay safe and thanks for sharing :)
She looked so adorable holding that sack. Kinda like, "Who, me?" Caught with her hands in the cookie jar! Btw Fascinating that this was all caught by the dedicated camera team, Camera Lady, as well as her side-kick Dave the Beastie-wrangler. Thanks for sharing!
She is absolutely beautiful.
Dave can’t say it enough love your work you both do.
Thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Sorry to hear about the egg sac fingers crossed for the next time.ive got a grown on sling they are gorgeous.and it goes to show they can be calm.
Wow... I'm impressed... beautiful job Dave 💗
What a gorgeous 😍 spider 🕷.
Sorry about the egg sack, but a beautiful spider. I like the simple enclosure too.
Just found your channel recently, I am in love. While I personally would not keep insects, and handling them gives me the heebie jeebies, I admire the passion, the attention to detail, level of care, and vast knowledge you have. Really good production quality as well. Keep it up! :)
Thank you so much and welcome to our channel ❤️👍
Great content as always, really enjoy watching your videos since they are a super mix between being educational and funny. You really know what you are talking about! I´m still quite new to this hobby, and I´ve learned so much just from watching your content. Keep up your good work, great inspiration to me (and others i guess) :)
Thank you 👍
Hey Beastie Team 🖐
A real black Beauty she is!
You are the Master of Terra Design, i do enjoy watching all of your Videos. Still way to go, will take my Time for to learn from you. Ty much for your work.
Best Greetings
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Well Dave, you had me at "she et her male"....
Great rehouse 👍❤️
I absolutely love the entire Chilobrachys genus. I definitely need to add a kaeng krachan to my collection one of these days. Do you happen to have a Birupes simoroxigorum, Dave?
Not at the moment but thinking of getting some 👍
@@daveslittlebeasties Well I'd love to see 'em if you end up doing so!
Thanks to your methods of transfering bolty critters I have had the best and easiest rehousings for my pokies...thanks
Great to hear!
This species has always been on my wishlist and I Just picked up a sling yesterday at an expo. I realized afterwards that this is my first old world, AND my first fossorial. It's always been one I've wanted and now I'm like, well ok....gotta research a little more LOL and even though I've already watched this video multiple times, I always come back to yours, first 😊
Good luck im sure you will nee fine ❤️👍
Oh, she is beautiful!
1:10 "It's not very often you catch them eating the sacks.....9/10 its under the cover of darkness"
Don't ask where my mind went to on that! Great stuff as usual.
😂🤣🤣
That is a beautiful tarantula! WOW!
Great footage again Team Beastie. Another beautiful and well-behaved spider.
The spider whisperer
Very calm :) well behaved :)
just wanted to say. at the most recent show. i stepped my poeceltheria game up big time. and by that i mean i bought my first 3 pokies. regalis metallica and formosa. and i gotta let you know the formosa got on the list because of you. and good lord shes gotta be my favorite of the 3. so thank.you for showing off your formosa a few weeks back.
I love it when Dave says ‘this is a stunning spider’ about every spider in the world! She is stunner though!
I've gone from thinking they are one of the most horrid things on the planet to being enamored of them. Nobody is going to convince me of the same about centipedes🤢
@@vickiezaccardo1711 I'm with you,
Centipede are creepy! Love the wonderful
Colors of the spiders!!
That was like a good whiskey -Smooth-.
Dave how to clean the moss from forest before use him in enclosure ?
Every hobbyist talking about "Don't use moss from forest" and I say why not before cleaning ?
I’m pretty sure he’s said you don’t have to clean it, Moss generally only grows in a clean environment
I collect all my own moss and substrate from the wild and I dont clean any of it why would you try to wash all that goodness out of it its the very reason we collect it , as long as there is no ants hiding in it you will be fine 👍
@@daveslittlebeasties okay Dave thank you so much for answer "Be nice ,be gentle and love your spiders " seee you soon ! :D
Amazing video again ! She's stunning ! She's even more beautiful than in the last videos of her ! 😍 Very calm... she's in the Beasties Room, and knows that 👍🏻 I would LOVE to have one to carry one ❤ Eating her eggsac and you got it on camera ! I was amazed and also really sad 😍😢 But you will do it, you'll have a successful pairing, I know it ! 😉😎
Thank you Dave and Camera Lady for this video ! See you soon 👋🏻
I really like the new enclosure you made for her! She's Spectacular 💯❤👍
Thanks a bunch!
I've just ordered a female. Brushing up on the species husbandry. Cheers!
Dave's joy is truly infectious, love it.
❤️❤️❤️👍
She has decorated with silk wall paper and carpet. Princess.
Wow! I love the stripes on her!
She looks like black velvet 😍
Dear Dave,
Haven't you got any mold issue's using wood and high humidity dispite all the isopods and springtales?? I Most of the time am leaving out the wood because of this problem, what you opinion??
Gr from Holland.
No I don’t get any real issues at all but my tanks are very well ventilated 👍
@@daveslittlebeasties thanks, ill give it another try for my asian arboreal set ups. I fell inlove with the mossyness and wood🙏
Think I'm going to pick a few of these up. Beautiful animal. BTW... Camera Lady has a very steady hand, great camera work.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks, great advice on how to keep them visiable.
such a gorgeous spider!!! 🥰
Nice vid mate. The weird thing is that I have no problem going abroad coming face to face with wild lions and handling spiders or having huge boas wrapped 'round me but back here in the UK a crane fly will have me running out of the room! I just can't stand 'em. No, I can't explain it either!
Interesting!😂😂👍
Beautiful specimen was she always black or brown and got black when older?
She gets richer with every moult mate 👍
Beautiful tarantula and I love the enclosure build👍🏽👌🏽 thanks for sharing! Does this species have a common name it goes by?
Yes they do The Giant Dark Earth Tiger
Another great video .... shame about the sac ... hopefully bump into you on Sunday!!!
Make sure you do 😂👍
@@daveslittlebeasties my eyes will be peeled 🤣🤣🤣
@@hayleysullivan287 😂😂😂👍
@@daveslittlebeasties unfortunately something came up and we couldn't go 😪 hope you had a great day though !!!
@@hayleysullivan287 Theres always the next one but it was a good show ❤️👍
Awesome video Dave! You mentioned you have a bit of a soft spot for these guys, it’s easy to see why! I’m rather fond of them too! Very pretty spiders!
I really enjoyed the pairing of this spider and was glad to see the update though it seems the male did die in vain…
She showed him no mercy too!
Shame!
PS Dave: Sorry for the late comment, I had watched this on the date it came out but I’ve been busy with work and just life in general and haven’t gotten the chance to leave a comment.
I am always impressed with your commitment and passion for all these creatures. Helping to remove the fear so many of us had (or have) by your calm and steady behavior regardless. Spot on! On a side note its wonderful to see so many other spiders out and about in their cages while you and Camera Lady were filming. On the shelf behind you at shoulder height a dark spider was really moving around and climbed across the inside of the cage a few times, which species is that one?
Im not sure which one your talking about but I would think its the P.ornata juvie male 👍
Just came from the vid you made of her unfortunate second suitor, haha. 🕷☠️
i thought my kaeng krachan had an egg sack after she webbed up the entrance of her hide and stayed there for 6 weeks.
i havent looked at all if she made a sack cuz i dint want to bother her, i just assumed it cuz the conditions before and around were very good.
so i checked and didnt see an egg sack, i decided to dig her out, just too figure out shes still fat/gravid :')
really annoying, but at least she didnt molt and theres still a chance of an egg sack. pairing was in april btw, i still got the male in case she will still molt
Always great watching your videos. Is there any thing in particular that makes you deice one what type of tank your going to give them? I notice in some you give them the front door tank, others you give them the top cover tank.
I like the front opening ones for my arborials and the terrestrials in the others 👍
She is a stunning spide .I think they have the right idea when it comes to male .she looks a bit peeved, off dont blame she been downsized 🤣🤣🤣
Hey Dave, recently got my first t :), It's a Nhandu chromatus sling it's absolutely thriving :). I was just wondering could you do a video on Brazilian red and whites? Top videos as always Dave quality content 👌
Like No. 118, here
You took that sac right out of it's mouth.... You're like the Steve Irwin of tarantulas.
❤️❤️❤️👍
Yeah, you could tell almost right away. Just eggs with nothing growing in or around them. Sucks! That female is a beast. lol
Am I wrong or crazy. Could you tell right away? All the fertile eggs I have seen seemed much different than the ones she was eating and you took out.
I kept the eggs in my incubator for about 2weeks but all went rotten
Hi Dave,
your content is awsome! Thanks!
I would like to ask where do you get the enclusures for your terrestrials.
Is it also from exoterra? Canˋt find this kind of enclosure.
Cheers Fabian
Hi, they are Komodo enclosures 👍
@@daveslittlebeasties thanks!
Hey Dave! Beautiful specimen you have there! What does the beastie substrate consist of that you collect in the wild?
Its just leaf mulch 👍
@@daveslittlebeasties ok. Are you looking for springtails and other small invertebrates inside the beastie substrate/leaf mulch? I'm just trying to give my T's the best possible home that I can provide 🙂
@@Billbeaux Yes there is a whole host of clean up crew in the mulch and moss and even in the rotting wood I use and you can always add more to it yourself I often add extra springtails to mine 👍
@@daveslittlebeasties ahhh man that sounds fantastic! Idk what all I can find of that out here in the desert, but I think it'll be ok as long as I don't bring in any parasites or nematodes.
Man I thought the Brazilian Blacks were stunning but she's insane!
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👍
Big spider gorgeous blue she got it she will
Beautiful spider I sold a krachan sling about a month ago watched this and went and bought it back lol
They are fantastic spiders 👍
How big can they get
@@travisritchie1367 6-7 inch
Would this one be a good one for a beginner to raise?
Won’t really ever see it because it’s mostly fossorial as a sling. They’re also very bolty with strong venom, old world species so you can expect that. If you’re ok with never touching it, adrenaline rushing rehouses, and having a pet hole then yes. For a first tarantula I’d get a new world lol if you’re ok with diving in then screw it, lots of people get old worlds as their first T it’s just not too common for obvious reasons.
Probably not your best choice there is far better spiders to start with maybe a Brachypelma genus , nice and hardy and easy temperament 👍
Well done 👏 very good educational and informative video. Kudos 🕷 🕸
Thank you 👍
She reminds me of King Kong🕷️
Kaeng Kong :-D
Do they eat the bugs in the beasty substrate? Do you have another male breed her with
Some of the isopods will be eaten by smaller spiders but the large well fed dont normally bother with them , ands im still looking for another male to try again 👍
love you channel ! all ways look forward to more videos. Though it would be nice if you added a bit of music in the background with your videos .
Hey dave
Wanted to ask where you get your Tanks with top lids
There Komodos
The reason tarantulas are so defensive is because they are prey animals. A lot of people don't understand this x
Every living thing will protect itself when needed 👍
My fav.
Is she an "old world" tarantula?
NVM you answered JUST after I submitted the comment. lol
@dave which one of your dangerous spiders would you let walk on your face
Would you jump in front of your favarite car ????
@@daveslittlebeasties lmao great answer Dave
How many Slings do D.pentalorises have?
They have reasonable sacks around 50 to 100 maybe 👍
