Great advice, cool spiders.. I hadn't considered that their greatest trick "rejuvenation by moulting" could be quite that precarious, I'd seen some die from a problem when moulting but hadn't seen them in a defective state as a result... Now I know. Thanks Beasties!

Hello Dave and camera lady! Your spiders are always well behaved because of your gentleness with them! I've watched other keepers that are so rough... sad.
Hello Dave and Camera Lady. I hope this finds you both well. What an interesting spider! I think it would be a bit frustrating to have such a lovely creature and never get to see her. You said they are slow growers. How long does it take them to reach their full size? Also, what do you feed them at this stage? Your package is on the way. I shipped it last Friday. Thanks again for the lovely video. Stay safe and take care. Good night 😴 🌒🥱💖❤️
I'm binge re watching again. Tbh, I need three videos a week on your channel. 8:18 makes me smile but I love the ones where they're hiding and their bums are still on show but they think there completely hidden! 😂🎉
I can't believe how well behaved they both were with you Dave on second thought yes I can your spiders reflect the love that you show them again camera work spot on just so enjoyable to watch bless you both.

Awww bless her with her fused leg, hopefully in a few molts she'll have a perfect new one 🙏 they were both beautiful, shame they hide away, u did make me laugh with your comment "keep a lovely box of dirt" 😂😂😂 thanku as always Mr and Mrs Dave for the awesome and knowledgeable video 📹 ❤❤❤
I need to re-house mine,i have a juvie since a sling nearly 2 years old now and it's really rusty orange, beautiful colour, about 2+ inchs now and always been kept in a square small container, gave it a water bowl when it was younger but always buried it so i took it out and just sprayed the whole time,it's very healthy and plump now so i think a molt is pending soon. mine i get to see quite a bit as the substrate isn't deep, like yours was in a large sling pot and it's thrived..beautiful species but quite spicy attitude lol
I have never let any of my T's dig down deep into burrow mode in small enclosure for this very reason, moult on the surface and they are fine, I had one of this species and even as an adult she was fine in enclosure with no room to burrow, and had her for 10 years from a juv.
Wonderful video, thank you! Like others have said, I have seen other spider keepers and they are very rough and not patient and then wonder why they get bit. You are an amazing team and make a difference. Thank you for sharing your knowledge 💙💙💙
Awww, seeing her leg twisted like that made me so sad. It looks like her chelicerae might have been affected too? (She seems to have trouble moving them apart...) I hope her next moult fixes the problems the last one caused. Poor spider. :(
I caught a spotted orb weaver in my house…it made a huge web over night. I don’t like walking into a web face first…lol. But I caught in a plastic container I renamed a catch cup…lol. It got a bit chilly last night…below 60 and it was curled into a tight ball this morning, I thought it had died. I will put it in a warmer place and catch a cricket.
Great video Dave,I dont understand why they are underated, they are just gorgeous spiders I had mine as a sling now she is about 3",and I get u dont see them often, but when u do it's amazing.and like yours Dave mine has never shown defensive behaviour or threat postures.i just wish people showed them of.
They are beautiful!! The one with the abnormality I hope she makes a full recovery through a couple molts! As always great videos and great information!
This was fascinating. Having watched a lot of your rehousing videos, seeing one where you had to excavate the resident was really different. Nice that they each cooperated with your narrative. We got to watch their strong hole-homing behavior, and actually got to SEE one of the creatures itself. Thanks, and keep them coming.
That is one benefit of having 8 legs. If one is damaged, it will still be coping. Imagine if one of our legs was bad. Nice video. A favourite speicies that one!
Beautiful spiders, I did go aagghh when you talked about her fused leg, my son has a fused thumb he was born with two thumbs on his right hand, they had to fuse it and I lost a leg, I wish humans could moult, mother nature is an amazing! Thank you for another informative video! I always write a comment as it helps your channel, so just hit the button, I know how many comments you receive!
Ah bless her with the fused leg really hope she molts that leg out. I have an adult female h.gigas and I agree you really dont need 2 metres of substrate I've set up just a tad bit more then a terrestrial and shes made a nice burrow and I can keep an eye on her so much better to maintain too. Amazing video dave 👍 beautiful spiders
I just thought as I was settleing down to watch your video you are litterly surrounded by spiders that if all were loose would freak most people out I bet you would be calm and just put them back in there homes I love your demina. It's relaxing and by the way thank for your replay really cool thanks Dave and camera lady is she why by the way nice one dave
I just bought a king baboon and rehoused it from a small criter keep to a bigger enclosure and added a bigger water dish for it. What I noticed it's docile and won't leave it's original enclosure and have to force it to move. I use zoo med aboral enclosures for boworal species. A update on my T.Vagans finally got her permanent house. On my baboon species I use 9 inches of substrate and they do well and are very calm. My h.gigas is very visible and will go in it's borrow when it feels threatened. I love both the colors of the king and h.gigas. these 2 tarantulas I recommend to someone who doesn't want a obt.

Morning Dave & Camera lady an awesome vidoe as always wot a lovely type of spider and we'll done in all the vidoes that u both do love the channel and wot an inspiration to all the people who watch your channel
My g pulchra molted for the first time in a year. I thought he/she was dead but then busted out a fresh jet black molt. I still have to identify the gender because mine is 3 years old and is almost 4 inches. If it’s a male, I will ship him off to complete his life’s purpose. But if it’s a female I’ll just build an extravagant long term enclosure. Wish me luck!
Hey Dave & Camera Lady! I apologise for the late comment, been busy with school and work and had to post-pone your video until tonight my friend. Great video as usual Dave! Yeah, i`ve heard that these guys hide more than most other spiders, they like to be hidden. That male Therephosa was one hungry boy, i enjoyed watching him chow down. These two were a good size! As you said, i`ve heard they`re pretty slow growers, so if you can find some adults at a show (as you mentioned, there`s a few coming up, perhaps you`ll record them for the channel) and fast forward this breeding project by potentially a few years. Hopefully her leg re-adjusts itself in her next moult (is it a female even or unknown?). That or just falls off and perhaps re-generates on the moult after the next one? We will have to see, only time will tell us, right Dave? Alright, well i think that`s it for me, Dave. I`m off to watch your next extra long video as it`s already out at the time of writing this (23:24 Monday). I hope you, Camera Lady and the Beasties are well and i will see you next time my friend! Much love from Timmins, Ontario, Canada! Never told you my town before but i`ve seen a few other fans put it in their comments, so why not right? Nothing to get your hair in a knot about, very boring town, although very dangerous at night, particularly in-town, lots of sketchy people, changed for the worse even since i was 10... Take care of yourself, my friend. (Funny thing about that, as i wrote my friend, the song i`m listening to said my friend.) ``Slappy. Yes Papa? Don`t you open up my books, i will write again and send you back inside my friend.`` -R.L Stine Sings A Song, By AAron Fraser Nash, he makes songs about movie characters, he has all my favourites. Perhaps some of his stuff will be of interest to you Dave. His link: ua-cam.com/video/U7tojqUYb4w/v-deo.html This link will bring you to the song i as listening to, you can access the rest of his channel by his channel icon as you know i`m sure 👍.If you end up watching the video, you don`t have to watch Aaron talk after the song, he`s just giving updates regarding his channel, future songs to come etc...
Absolutely brilliant Dave, them king baboons are absolutely stunning spiders 🕷, I'm sure they'd make a fantastic addition to any collection, anyway Dave another super job by yourself and camera 📷 lady.
Such a pretty looking spider! My OBT passed away a couple of days ago and I have no idea why 😢 I got her as an adult female a couple of weeks ago (she wasn’t fully grown yet). She webbed the enclosure up quite a bit and ate once. All of a sudden she was sitting in front of the front glass door in a death curl 😢 I’m devastated
Thats very sad , sometimes its difficult to work out what went wrong , I would suggest maybe your spider had something wrong with it to start with as they are generally very hardy and can deal with a lot , for iy to die in a few weeks it probably wasn't anything you have done 👍
Both are lovely spiders! Very sad to see a bad molt like that! Keep us updated on if it fixes itself after the next molt if you spot it Almost to 60k! Keep it up Dave
I am hoping to see future video's about the 2nd spider and would love to know how she does in her next molt, curious about her leg, like so many other people out here.
Well, we can hope for a better leg next time around. Maybe the looser soil will give her space for a bigger burrow and better molting They're both amazingly placid. I really appreciate the excavation lessons. I haven't really considered fossorials bc I wasn't sure how to handle rehousing and care, but now I might give it a go.
Lovely spider. Shame about its leg. I hope she doesn't have a difficult time moulting. Please let us know how she does. Thanks for another glimpse into your world.
that will be very interesting PROFF when she moults to see if that leg gets corrected for her benefit. great looking spiders but very interesting spider but why when you don't see them. great work CAMERA LADY, hopefully we get an update on the leg. take care guys ,many thanks
I have to say that I find it interesting how the scientific name changes over time. During the late 1980's into the 1990's, the name that describes the King Baboon Spider 🕷️ were known by a different name. C. Crawshayi, if I am spelling it correctly. But that was the name in the many books that I used to have. I'm 62 now and I don't have any Tarantulas any longer.
Hi Dave Sorry that I missed this video earlier. I am so sorry for your loss of the female king Baboon😥. They were both so well behaved. I hope that you are able to find another female. They are pretty. Love you channel. I have been watching you for some time. And am always excited about your next video. That big male sure loved that roach. I always enjoy all of the information about each one, and find tarantulas fascinating.🕷️🕸️ Cindy Florida USA

My absolute favorite tarantula in the world! The King Baboon Tarantula!!❤❤❤
Can't wait for you to find an adult. I'd love to see one. Thanks for another great video.
I’m just venturing into OW/Baboons, with a C darlingi and a H pulcripes. These might be on the list too.
Awwww, so cute how the little one immediately ran into the burrow 💕
They are beautiful spiders, but those still terrify me! Thank you for being these guys out to show they aren’t always the big, scary spiders everyone portrays them as 🙂

I love the colour of the King Baboon, it’s a gorgeous chocolate brown 🤎 shame that they don’t show themselves off more!
Thanks for sharing another fantastic video with us today😊
Take care and stay safe. Have a great weekend 💙💕😘xxxx
That's the most placid spider I've ever seen in your channel. And very beautiful too! Hopefully she can molt without any major issues.
What a pretty girl, and well behaved. Glad your both enjoying your new beastie

This link will bring you to the song i as listening to, you can access the rest of his channel by his channel icon as you know i`m sure 👍.If you end up watching the video, you don`t have to watch Aaron talk after the song, he`s just giving updates regarding his channel, future songs to come etc...
wonderful! I enjoyed watching😊🙏
Awesome Video Davies little beasties
Glad you enjoyed
Absolutely brilliant Dave, them king baboons are absolutely stunning spiders 🕷, I'm sure they'd make a fantastic addition to any collection, anyway Dave another super job by yourself and camera 📷 lady.
Absolutely
@@daveslittlebeasties thanks for your kind words
I love diggers, can relate : ) fingers crossed extra hard for her next molt!
Beautiful spider. I just love the coloring.I can’t wait for her to molt! Maybe she will get a better leg, poor dear🌻
I had one when it was still called C. crawshayi. I sold her from the same reason, I never saw her.
Always interesting educational videos 👍
I am wondering if the fused leg might cause complications in her next molt 🤔?
Awsome video, another beautiful T 🖤
Stunning spider....too bad they are so reclusive. Brilliant video and camera work!
Many thanks!
Cool spider, seems a mixed bag to keep but there you go, haha
Both are lovely spiders! Very sad to see a bad molt like that! Keep us updated on if it fixes itself after the next molt if you spot it
Almost to 60k! Keep it up Dave
Thank you 🙏
I am hoping to see future video's about the 2nd spider and would love to know how she does in her next molt, curious about her leg, like so many other people out here.
Its just the same as all the others dont over think it my friend ❤️👍
What an unlucky roach living happily under a piece of bark then gets discovered and put in with the male tarantula, what a bad day for that roach.
Lovely spider. Shame about its leg. I hope she doesn't have a difficult time moulting. Please let us know how she does. Thanks for another glimpse into your world.
❤️❤️❤️
that will be very interesting PROFF when she moults to see if that leg gets corrected for her benefit. great looking spiders but very interesting spider but why when you don't see them. great work CAMERA LADY, hopefully we get an update on the leg. take care guys ,many thanks
Fingers crossed! we willl follow her and see what happens 👍
They are lovely!! I hope her last molt works out okay. Please keep us posted on how she does!
Unfortunately she. did not survive 😭
Hopefully she can fix her keg with her next molt
Great video once again guys 😊👍
Hi Dave Sorry that I missed this video earlier. I am so sorry for your loss of the female king Baboon😥. They were both so well behaved. I hope that you are able to find another female. They are pretty. Love you channel. I have been watching you for some time. And am always excited about your next video. That big male sure loved that roach. I always enjoy all of the information about each one, and find tarantulas fascinating.🕷️🕸️ Cindy Florida USA
Thank you ❤️
