The Thai Zebra is an Old World fossorial spider from Thailand these secretive spiders have a almost velvet black background colour with bright yellow stripes on the legs giving them a very distinct and striking look , a fast and often defensive spider they should be treated with respect and care .

Great video as always Dave,lovely spider,after having my minax for 5 months I thought I'd finish of her enclosure this week,put some nice fresh moss in and a few bit's and bobs,came in this morning...flipping stuff all over the place! I guess she didn't like it🤣🤣

Beautiful spider Dave!! I purchased what was labeled as an Asian black bird eater juvenile, it looked like a C.Minax but after two molts it appears to be a Thai zebra as the stripes are becoming more visible. It is now a sub adult, the temperament is not bad no threat poses yet! It comes out at night but tucked away in the daytime very good feeding response. I’m a little confused on which species it is maybe the next molt will tell the tale. Camera lady great footage and as always thanks so much guys, good luck on breeding her Dave!!👍🤞🕷

Wonderful spider and a nice looking home for her. I didn't know this spider yet, she looks realy beautiful. A new room tour would be very nice too! I'm looking forward to it. By the way, my haplopelma minax also destroyed her wonderful new home yesterday to build her entrance to her burrow, she even takes all the moss and build it around her hole, I mean ALL of it! 😆 Thx 4 the video Dave

Acquired this spider recently, must say it was the most feisty box of fun ever. These guys move fast, and have lots of personality.... got to say Not for the Feint of Heart is the best way to describe them!

I've spent my weekend rehousing all of my small collection. I got one of those box photo frames to do it on as it has a bit of a lip, it worked very well when my P. regalis and P. irminia both decided to go for a stroll! I'm going to turn the box frame into a miniature version of your table but with folding legs eventually. Any way, picked up a Thai Zebra sling this afternoon - empty enclosures set off my OCD. Luckily I don't have too many of them 🤣

What a stunning spider, never saw one of those before. And yet again, I´m so fascinated how calm and easy going all those spiders are, that you interact with in any way. Gorgeous spider as always, Dave and Camera Lady :) I'll admit I haven't kept up with taxonomical revisions all that much, but weren't these moved to Cyriopagopus a few years back ? I know that Melopoeus is one of the earlier genus names as it's featured in an old 1991 book I have here.

I agree the taxonomy and names keep changing when I looked them up it came up as Cyriopagopus albostriaus, but I see it’s changed again! Very hard to keep up!🤔

Earth Tiger! I had always wanted 1 after seeing a picture of it in a book that I had, but until your video 📸, I never saw 1 in any of the shops in the Detroit area where I used to purchase my Tarantulas. The Pet Vendor, B'wana Don's and a couple other locations went out of business years ago, but when they were in operation, I never saw 1 of these before! Such a Beautiful Spider 🕷️ it is!! ❤ the look of her!! I really appreciate your video 📷 on Tarantulas! Even with the knowledge that I have, I learn so much listening to your explanation of why you do what you do. Thank you very much.

Melopoeus? Are all fossorial Cyriopagopus going to Melopoeus? They needed to go back to Haplopelma imo lol and I tell you this all the time but you're really lucky to be able to harvest that kind of carpet moss cause I'm in Arizona and we don't have live moss like that unless you go way up north into the mountains lol

Would be nice if you could manage to show a rehouse and show the tank say after 6 or 8 weeks. You would have to create some backlog of rehouses,, but in my mind it would realy up the channel.
