Thank you for this wonderful information, Dr. Daniel. Can you please share how to treat SIBO and IBS in a prediabetic person? I really appreciate any help you can provide.
I’m in need of help. My digestive system, gut motility, and all of the above has gone bad. I had a background of heavy alcohol consumption (almost everyday), smoking, eating fast food and large amounts. I believe I either had stomach ulcer or hiatal hernia that was causing serious heart burns, so doctor prescribed me ppi which I took for 30 days. After that, got diagnosed with H Pylori so I had to take antibiotics. They said the infection was gone but I still had symptoms so I started taking GI Revive and Betain HCL and Pepsin. Also eating yogurts and drinking kombucha for good bacteria’s to regrow. After a month, I started to eat normal food again and stop taking the supplements bc it felt like it was hurting more than fixing it. I felt almost normal again, until it all came back. Now I feel like I’m suffering indigestions and gut motility. The food feels like it’s stuck in my throat or upper stomach. I’m taking digestive enzymes and betaine hcl again. Not sure if it’s working much but it’s been two weeks. Any advice? *Note* atm im taking 5 capsules of betaine but it felt like it was working better when I was only taking 2?
None of the "root causes" you mentioned in your video apply to me. My prediposing factor was years of IBS. Prokinetic treatments only made things worse. The only effective treatment for my SIBO has been the carnivore diet.

A carnivore diet may be useful. I'd use caution with elemental diet

Thanks for your question. It's difficult to answer that, but retracing your steps and continuing to do what was working may be a good way to proceed.
What about excessive alcohol intake ? Could it be one of the root causes as well ?
Perhaps indirectly
thank you dr , dr Daniel please reply to me does clove kills the good bacteria?
I have not used clove, but it would likely remove some good bacteria
@ thank you a lot

Good question. IBS tells us "what" is happening, but not "why." Perhaps the root cause was never discovered?
i think i got sibo after tapering off an ssri. do you think that could cause it?
ssri meds can impact gut motility, yes
If you’re stuck in fight or flight it affects the gut!!
