    You got a real Stevie Nicks thing going on there! Love it!!! Everyone has a slightly different perm schedule, and it's good that you've worked yours out. Every 4 months / 3 times a year is not uncommon. The trick is to line it up right - the first week of April, August and December is a good strategy to ensure you have fresh curls for spring, summer and Christmas every year!

      I didn't even think about how it lines up with the holidays but that's so perfect!

    My girl love it, I think the layers you did earlier were the trick, I like this wrap better than the spiral, and I love it with the curly bangs. definitely a disco look. just keep it trimmed keep the layers sharp and I think you will get some awesome length of time out of this perm. I love late 1970s and 1980s looks, go and search 'Pam Ewing perm on tv show Dallas, and you know you are on the right track. That lady who does your hair knows what she is doing she is darn good, and I think going to an older stylist who was doing these styles in the day was your best decision.

      go for it!! I'm so glad I took the plunge. It took me awhile to figure out how to care for it, but once I did it saved me so much time in trying to style my hair like this with curlers all the time

    This hair is perfection imho... If I can get mine to look like this with more of a honey blonde color then that would be fantastic.

    You manage to make every stage look really cool! My MP got hers done lately and she’s rocking it, although I think I like it a lot more for having seen yours first, rather than just “why did you get my mum’s haircut from 1985?”

    Your hair is so beautiful! This is the exact perm I want and I'm so glad I stumbled across this video. I do have a few questions though. Did you get your bangs cut after you had the 1st perm? Should I get mine layered and cut before I do my perm or should I wait til after? I figure maybe it's best to just wait and get the perm done first then go get it cut since the hairstylist can actually be able to see it and go from there

      @LexiLadonna  17 днів тому

      I think you should wait until after, that way you can know how the curls will lay! I got my bangs and layers cut after my perm

    What did you ask for this time, I'm just one day after perm and its still pretty flat and I'm hoping to achieve the fluffiness. My hair is a bit shorter than yours just a little past my shoulders, planning on growing it out. When you style it do you use any products ? I'm assuming you don't use gel?

    • @LexiLadonna
      @LexiLadonna  Рік тому +1

      No, I don't use gel! I don't like it to be crispy. I use a little bit of curling mousse which is more lightweight and I also got a diffuser attachment for my hairdryer. That way I sort of put a little handful of it in a little pile against my scalp and hold the diffuser directly against it so it dries up with volume and not straight down lke I used to blow dry my hair when it was straight. I also went and got more layers cut in, like way more layers. Just be careful who cuts it, it should be someone who knows curly hair.

    When did it start to relax, and to what degree each month?

    • @LexiLadonna
      @LexiLadonna  2 роки тому

      I would say it really started to relax around two months. Up to that point it hadn't relaxed too much. I got the perm mid-December and you can see in the videos I posted in January and even into early February it was still very curly. Then suddenly in early February it started really looking a lot looser

    Hey can I ask what type of perm you got? Cold perm? Chemical etc? I know there’s so many of them now. Thank you :) and also the size of the rods? ❤

    • @LexiLadonna
      @LexiLadonna  Рік тому +1

      It’s a spiral perm. I’m not 100% sure on the differences between perm styles but no heat was used, only the chemical agents. They used slightly different perm rods with my hair each time. I don’t know the exact sizes but I do know that perm rods are color-coded so if you watch the video you can see what colors they use and that’ll correspond to a certain size.
      Not very many places do spiral perms anymore but I wanted to retro 70/80s look so I found an older hairstylist who’s been doing perms since the 80s. All the other clients in the salon are elderly, I love it!

    • @Sophchie
      @Sophchie Рік тому

      @@LexiLadonna thank you so much! Also do you have any dye in your hair at all? I have grown my hair out for anyway and a half before that was getting black dye at the salon not box dye/ my hair looks dark brown now and is in good condition do you think I’ll be safe to do?

  • @CD-oh1gi

    How did the second perm go? Did she only perm your roots?? How?! I’m dealing with regrowth and my stylist is trying to think about how she may be able to just touch up the roots

    • @LexiLadonna
      @LexiLadonna  2 роки тому +2

      No she re-permed my entire head but I’d had a haircut with layers in do she didn’t have to piggyback a second layer of rods that time. If she had only done the roots when the perm solution was being washed out it could have straightened the ends of the hair not wrapped in rods as it was washed passed
