I am a hairdresser too I haven't worked at it for yrs but it's always in your blood and you I agree are Beautiful and do a top perm. I think you are very very good at it .
You permed it so perfectly wow, I had mine professionally permed years back and it was no where near as beautiful as the way it came out in this video wow
I got a perm over the summer in a salon and it turned out terribly. I had never chemically treated my hair before and it's pretty strong and thick (natually straight) so the curl didn't take at all - I had like, one wave in my hair lol and I paid $400 for it and the stylist tried to convince me that's the best my hair would look in a perm. I ended up reperming my hair at home myself months later thanks to your videos and I am in love with how my hair turned out! It's not as damaged as the stylist warned it would be. Thank you for making this seem very accessible and doable!!!!! You're doing the lord's work
I used to get my hair permed waaay back in the day. And when I went to the salon my perm never lasted like a home perm. My mom learned the rolling technique and bought a box of perm solution and the rods at a beauty supply store and from then on she did them and they lasted for months. So obviously your hairdresser didn’t know what they were doing. I hate that you paid that much for it. I want to perm my hair again and I definitely don’t trust hairdressers to do perms today so I’m gonna try to do my own. Fingers crossed
This was oddly soothing..my mom was a hairdresser and I grew up in the 80’s and 90’s around her shop and always around perms being done. You did such a good job and it looks so prettyyyy!
Damn, I've seen so many "at home perm" fails, but this was genuinely satisfying to watch! It's clear you know what you're doing and have practiced your technique. I'm considering doing my own hair perm and just trying to soak up as much info as possible and gathering the right supplies, because I don't wanna ruin my hair. Only the bottom half of my hair is naturally curly and this bothers me lol. I have my hair partially bleached but I only do highlights and the tips and only done it twice, the second time literally just the money piece, and my hair never appeared to be damaged from the bleach at all. Compared to the parts of my hair that is 100% natural, the blonde parts feels the exact same quality. So I hope that little bit of bleach wouldn't make a disaster with a perm. I really want to be both blondish and curly lol. But I also care about the health of my hair and this balayage style requires very little root touch up. Once or twice a year is probably enough. And if the tips that are the blondest get ruined that isn't much to cut off. Point is I'm very keen on not killing my hair with the bleach.
Thank you for taking the time to make your videos , you have walked me through my last three at home perms with your previous videos 😊 just finished my 3rd one today. Thank you all the way in Perth Australia ❤️
Thanks so much. It looks so easy when you do it. I found the rolling really difficult but I managed and it came out really well. I’m so pleased with it and grateful to you. Quick simple instructions too!
Cosmetology educator, perm and color expert... GREAT JOB!!! You may really like the thio free perm! This perm is a medium curl and versatile. The other neat one is the oval wrap! It makes curls unlike anything else!
Im so thankful i was born w naturally curly hair cause once this relaxed part of my hair grows out i can not imagine doing this w long hair like urs. Bless ur heart ❤
When you wash your hair with Luke warm water , the first time did you just keep the curling rods on and just put your hair under the water ? And then you put the solution a second time , 14:58 of the video . Is what I’m talking about
It looks great. My hair is approximately the same length. I think I want to try to do a home perm. Especially if I could find the curlers at Dollar Tree.
I know this video is older, however, im gonna perm my hair later today and im so nervous. Ive watched all your videos. My hair is natural. Finally. It took me years to grow out all the dyed parts and to have it be healthy again so it makes me super nervous to do anything to it. But, you have given me confidence to do this. My hair does have a natural curl underneath, but the tops layers are a straight kinda wave, and i hate that. If it was all like the underneath, i wouldnt mind, but it just looks bad. Id say my hair is about the consistency of yours. Its like a medium thickness. I do however, need a trim, would you suggest i do that beforw or after i do the perm? Cause if need to do it before, then I'll hold off on the perm for a few days. Thanks so much!
Just to insure that curls will develop. Would Rolling the rods on and sleeping with them for a night help? afterwards in the morning you wet the hair & then add all the solutions .?
I haven't bleached my hair in yrs but I have used a toner to lighten up my hair color a yr ago (somehow just using a toner makes my hair a lighter color) not sure if the perm would still work on my treated hair, any one have tried it on their treated hair? ahh So tempted😆🤔😬 to try this. My hair is super straight, up to my hips and alot of baby hair growth since I had a baby a year ago.
As a licensed beautician, just so you're not so hard on yourself, You are supposed to brush your hair dry and not wet so you've been doing everything correct. Good Job!
I would definitely recommend a pic because it doesn’t stretch out the hair. I used to get perms years ago and that’s what we used and were told to use.
My hair is a little passed my shoulders do you think the pink ones would be better or the white ones to get the same curl shape? Also how many rods did you use?
Do some research on what kind of curls different size rods give. I used about 4 packs of white and 4 packs of grey with random pink ones. I have another perm video coming in March as well.
Thank you so much for the video. It has been really helpful. I have long hair, but very scarce quantity. I wonder if one box of one n' only would be enough. How do I know I am applying enough of the product on my hair? Until all hair in every single rod is completely soaked? :(
I hope mine looks more like that once its washed!! I did use bigger rods and tinier rods.. thats how my real curl pattern usually is anyway but i just hope its more lively than it is now❤…!
U did a great job and I use to do hair and u did urs just like we did back then …. Ur perm turned out beautiful I’m getting ready to do mine and my hairs as ought as long as urs wish me close I hope mine turns out as pretty
That’s what I was wondering. Because I had naturally straight hair when I got my first perm and it was curler. I’m wondering if the perming solutions have changed since the 80’s-90’s?
My mom normally helps me. She can't do it anymore. I got help from a friend it didn't hold. I can roll my hair so why not. You give me hope it will turn out. 😊🤞
Absolutely gorgeous!!! Can't believe the difference the perm makes! You would look breathtaking if you did some light blonde cap highlights on top of those curls! The light and dark blend would accentuate the curls even more and make them shine! Look up brazil capping technique for more info!
Hairdresser and perm expert for 26 yrs. Your amazing and beautiful.
I am a hairdresser too I haven't worked at it for yrs but it's always in your blood and you I agree are Beautiful and do a top perm. I think you are very very good at it .
Can i put moisturizing product i my hair after rinsing perm out or only after 48 hours
@@oOoBubblesoOoOo You can after rising perm. Leave in conditioner or curl creme
How long does a perm last?
@@shreyaguha5 Everyone is different. Depends on your hair, rod size, perm used...But most last 3 to 12 months

Has a hairdresser I hate to hear you paid $400 for a perm. I hope you got a refund. Glad your perm turned out when you did it at home.

I brush my hair, use a denman brush/wide tooth comb. My hair looks and feels fine

It looks great. My hair is approximately the same length. I think I want to try to do a home perm. Especially if I could find the curlers at Dollar Tree.
What do you use to style the hair after? Does it turn hard?
How often do you get your hair cut ? How often do you perm your hair x
Thank you for letting me know what products I will need.

Thanks so much for this video, used it for reference to do my own today, went great 👍
What do you use after the shower ?
Is it should wet all the time to look like that ? How is it look like when the hair dry ?
does that smell or naw cuz i wanna perm my hair but the smelll
What you think about beach perm.
It gives lots of volume
Your hair looks beautiful and I love your eyebrows 😊
Hi, is your next perm coming up soon? Will you be making another video?

does the perm come out different if you roll it vertically vs. rolling it horizontally
Depends on rod size and hair length. Vertically is more spiral perm. Horizontally can give tight, loose, or just waves.
What lipstick and eyeshadow are you using?
As a licensed beautician, just so you're not so hard on yourself, You are supposed to brush your hair dry and not wet so you've been doing everything correct.
Good Job!
Can you rinse neutralizer out with rods in?
I know u can't wash it until 48hr but can u wet it when u shower?
How's the perm holding up? Will you be doing another one soon?
You are funny, cute and pretty. Your perm is perfect. Thank you for sharing with us.
What products do u use to get the look after the shower?
After 3 days of perming my hair can I use a pic
I would definitely recommend a pic because it doesn’t stretch out the hair. I used to get perms years ago and that’s what we used and were told to use.
What size rods are these please???? X

I'm surprised it's not more curly. Is your hair naturally 100% straight?
That’s what I was wondering. Because I had naturally straight hair when I got my first perm and it was curler. I’m wondering if the perming solutions have changed since the 80’s-90’s?
I am going to try! I just paid $125 at the salon and mine is not as pretty as yours!
how did it go?
When you did the “one last rinse” for three min did you use shampoo ?
No! Just lukewarm water :)
Quick question, what exactly is in the spray bottle?
The pink one? It’s just water
I clicked your Amazon link but don't see the perm products
Hmmmm try it now. I think I did it lol
Great video!
Have u tried brushing it in the shower with conditioner in it? That’s what I do. Then I never brush it again 💀
I’d like to see it dry again after your last wash.
I wish I could find those perm rods at the dollar tree!
Playback speed 1.25x

should i get one im scared ash
Get lots of moisture into your hair by using a quality product to break the frizz up and create some waves
So you’re not supposed to brush at all?
I wish i had used ALL tiny rods.. which most of them were tiny!! I may do it again w tiny rods 😂
Also you are even more stunning with no makeuP...
You are so freakin beautiful!
Savahanna!! Miss you at work. Can you open my hair….😂
