I finally was able to get one of these at a great price over the holidays. So far it is outstanding. My first SA, but not my last. I don't mind removing the magwell, as the 15 rd mags raise the bar for sure.
I put a leupold DPP on mine, I love it! Starting to get some rounds through it, maybe 250 so far, no malfunctions of any kind! The 15 Rd mags are the shazizzle! It handles the Underwood 220gr Hardcast very well! Great video, Chuke! 🇺🇸
Love the options. Going to go ahead and put the flush fit on one for concealment, leave one 11 rd standard for pocket carry with a NeoMag and the 15 rd for chest or OWB in the woods.
Love your reviews. I bought the xdm elite compact in both 9mm & 10mm. They had a promotion for i think at the time was 20% off accessories. For the 9mm, i bought a bunch of the standard 13 +1 mags along with equal amount of 19 +3 mags. With these, i switched the base plates, springs & all. So now with those i have 13+3 compact mags for carry, and 19+1 mags for when it's time to have fun. With the 10mm compact, i just got a bunch of the 15+1 mags, and some talon grip tape. I covered the mags enough to hide the stainless of the mags from bribe seen when loaded in the unit. Max capacity of 10mm without removing the magwell from these personnel suppressants! Give it a try. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
I wish they had a mag sleeve for the 15 round mag to use the magwell. Otherwise I love SF 10mm, however, I would sell it in a heart beat for a SIG p320 in 10mm.
You’re the guy when it comes to 10mm, Chuke👍 I been holding off to see if Glock would release a g29 gen 5 but it’s getting to the point that I’m gonna get this instead.
I love my Glock 29 and 20 but this one beats my 29. Much more accurate even without the dot, it's got a better barrel and better trigger and you can shoot hardcast out of it
@@D-A-1776 I ended up getting the S&W Performance Center M&P 2.0. The complete opposite in class size but I enjoy it. The XDM Elite compact is still in the back of my mind though. Appreciate the reply👍
@@D-A-1776 The ergonomics is what sold me, along with the ported barrel and slide for the price. Just felt better in my hand then the XDM and Glocks. Just gotta get a light and optic on it and it’s good to go.

i just recently got the xdm elite in 10mm 3.8 and love the way it feels, shoots and the recoil is sweet, i just love everything about the way the gun looks and handles, and with the purchase of the xdm 10mm it's my 3rd springfield in 4 yrs i already had the xds 9mm and 45 mod 2, and love them all, but it will be my last purchase from springfield because there customer service sucks, i have reached out twice just to inquire about there specials they run sometimes, they suck and won't give them my money any more.
I see you have the Holosun optic sight installed. That is the same sight I want to install on my Springfield 10mm compact, but wasn't sure if the footprint would match. Did you need to use any specific base plate to install it on. Please share details. The vendors keep blowing smoke with "I don't know answers."
Theres a pin that goes thru the magwell into that backstrap. Pull it down after you remove the roll pin and it will seperate from that backstrap and not be so hard to deal with.
Am I the only person that has 20/20 vision and can shoot handguns with iron sights either left or right handed with either eye. I don't get putting an optic on a compact pistol when your eyes work.
It does speed up the game, but iron sights (especially the standard XDM ones) work just fine as well. It depends on what's best for the individual shooter.
Hello Handyman, I purchased the 15 round mag with the #3 backstrap. Does Springfield make a mag well to cover the bottom of the 15 round mag? Also which will require a longer pin to hold the mag well in place. Feedback appreciated!
I would love to see this gun on a chronograph with some buffalo bore hard cast and bear defense rounds. I have one myself and would love to see how it compares to fullsize xd-m in 10mm. Really makes me wonder if the shorter 3.8in barrel would be that much of a downgrade in power compared to a fullsize.
Chuke, I don’t remember if this has been brought up or addressed: Is there any concern with the opening on the back of the slide? I can just see brush busting something getting in there. Considering it where all the parts are that make it go bang, it’s the only thing that makes me wary considering the kind of hunting I do.
Hello Chuke I had a question for you I have a xdm 10 mm 5.25 barrel and I love it but to big to conceal carry I like the 3.8 one here do you you get all the same qualities just in a smaller package??
If it takes the XDM 15-round why would it not take the XDM Elite 16-round? Been hearing that you can't use those magazines with it for some reason which makes no sense because it's a base plate that's it same magazine.
It's that special law enforcement/security model... 20 rounds of freedom with a different grip module all together. Can't remember seeing a mag well with the 20 round but I wanted it!!! Had to settle on the 11 to 15rd model like you guys...
mine was having some problems , I traced it down to bad ammo , ran 125 assorted "name" brand 180 jhp thru it zero issues, out of 50 freedoms 3 failure to feed , 1 failure to fire ... They usually have great stuff , bad day I guess. expensive day !! 🤣
I have one, theres only one light bearing holster option and there are absolutely no supressor sights that will co-witness with my holosun 507 C. The lack of aftermarket makes me want to sell it and buy a Glock 29 and get the slide milled.
I was going to buy a Glock 29 because Glock's extended mags are simple but I already own a Glock 30 so I might go with the Springfield but there not as simple as Glocks as I can also see from your video, but I heard Springfield is a good brand. I want the 15 round extended mag but what's the difference between 1, 2, & 3 strap? I wish the 15 round mag came with it
I have this same gun; got 6 magazines with the gear up package. Currently hunting for the same set up in 45 ACP.

Magwell and backstrap are separate pieces. There is a vertical pin in the back of the backstrap.

Those buffalo bore hard cast flat nose rounds have a very hard time feeding into any semi auto and are a far better fit for a revolver
