Got this a couple weeks ago! She's a beauty! You definitely know that your shooting 10mm. A little snappy for sure but in my opinion much easier to handle and control than the other compact 10 glock 29. One more thing, I have very small hands and when I took it out the first time the magwell dug into my pinky so bad it made this gun miserable to shoot. I immediately went home and removed it and problem solved. I highly recommend taking it off, it's not necessary. Plus you can use the bigger 15 round mags without it. This is a beast for a edc. Thanks for the video
Got one of these in 45acp in August of this year. I never was a fan of 10mm or 40cal. Got the deal that the Pistol came with 4 10 round mags and a really useful range bag that's large enough for everything you need for a day at the range. I found it is a real tack driver inside of 40 ft which is exactly what it is designed to be. Out the door for $650 for an extremely functional quality pistol. I am used to grip safeties as most of my pistols are equipped with them. There is a fool on UA-cam that has taken a piece of electrical tape and wrapped it around the grip on the grip safety but I figured I would give him the benefit of the doubt and watch his video. But once he started to speak I realized he didn't know what the hell he was talking about and moved on. Good video, "liked and subscribed", keep them coming 👍.
Bought one two months ago and absolutely love it!!! Such a great, quality built gun. Extremely pleasant to shoot for a 10mm and extremely happy with the accuracy. As with the grip safety, I honestly do not even notice it while shooting the gun. I actually like the purpose of it cause I usually always have my guns loaded. So just a small but effective safety feature. So when firing, I’ve never had it cause an issue, get in the way, felt it, etc. I just don’t even notice it while shooting. So if a person was to NOT purchase this gun or one like it because of any concerns of the grip safety, they would be massively selling the gun short and would be making a big mistake in my opinion. In fact I love this gun so much I am going to purchase another just to have a second one.

Springfield manufacture some of the finest firearms on the market today. I look at the Springfield line up, when looking for a Sidearm or Rifle these days. Not saying that there are no other fine firearms manufacturers out there other than Springfield. I have had little to no problems with the Springfield products. When it's supposed to go bang they do. I run the cheapest, dirtiest to the better ammo. They eat everything you put into them. They just go bang. as long as you take care of them, keep them cleaned, oiled, greased, they will take care of you when needed. God Bless our Country our People, President TRUMP AND FAMILY. GUYS keep them tight. And take a kid or two with you to the range. It's up to us to pass this on. If this is to continue to be a free Nation. Again God Bless you all.
Looks like this as small want go in, and even this small 10mm is snapping on the hand. But when aren't messing around and conceal carry this looks ideal.
Not really optics ready, you will need to order an adapter plate to mount the reddot of your choice. I now own both the 45acp and 10mm of this gun. Both fit my Wright Leather Works OWB holster as both are the excact same size, except the barrels and probably recoil springs.
Hammer Striker, Thank you very much for the highly informative video. I have one question though. You say that the pistol comes with 10-round magazines. On the website of Springfield Armory, however, it reads that it comes with 2 11-round magazines. Do the pistols that come with 10-round magazines have a special model number? Thank you very much in advance for taking the time to answer my question.
@@laloalonzo2461 no they hold an extra round in the pinkey extention, way to give out false information, next time don't answer questions when you are clueless of the answer
I submit that these compact 10mm pistols will be the new Model 29's of 2022. Many will buy them, most will abandon them after learning how user unfriendly they are. I like the 10mm, but not in a compact package.
Looks like a nice pistol, I just hate short receivers like that on a carry gun. Only gives you a 2 finger purchase on the grip. Can't do it. Especially with 10mm
It did not jump around or hurt your hand because most 10mm is just 40 cal rebranded ammo. Try some underwood or buffalo bore bore ammo,,it will liven this little powerhouse up.,,it can handle it but it lets you know ,,,,,,,,
Alaskan bushman here. W the 220 hardcast Underwoods ( bear bullets) i can pull ( From a sideleg holster) & put 4 into a 5 inch circle @ 15 yards in just a tad over 1 second w/o using the sights no problem. The ergonomics is perfect for my hands. In a bear attack theres no time to sight anyway. Recoil was NOT a problem & im a little guy. Couse its NOT the compact. Thoes short grips dont belong in bear country. The 190 grain Buffalo Bores monometals DID kick a bit more. Both rated at 1300 FPS. I think the non fouling coating on the Underwooods lubricated the bullet better & they both put just as big a dent into my 3/4 inch thick stainless steel plate. Both blew right through the 1/4 inch soft steel plate. The 10s are taking over Alaska over the big bore backup handguns. Lighter, easier to handle & WAY faster. The bear bullets are equal to a 41 mag w WAY more firepower & folks are more likely to keep their peice ON them because bear attacks come when you least expect. Usually when your 45/70 is out of reach instantly.
I liked the plastic "suit" cases (as he calls them- they're just cases or gun cases) and doubt the foam and plastic that they were made of drive the price up much at all. The cardboard and bag are cheap. My Emissary .45 came that way.
I wish you had placed a round in the barrel with it removed to show the chamber support. I want to run 10mm at its full pressure loading, and that requires the case be COMPLETELY encased in the barrel steel to prevent any potential case issues. I thought that had been dealt with 30 years ago by strengthing cases, but I'm seeing videos of 10mm failures which seem attributable to lack of total support.
I have one of these. Love it! Just wondering. Does anyone think the recoil spring is rather light? It is very easy to rack this slide and it spits the brass pretty far when shooting. Mine has been flawless. Just something I noticed. Wondered if anyone else has noticed. Thanks!
I live in Pennsylvania my range would look at me like I’m crazy if my gun wasent holstered on my belt and I walked in carrying a gun bag … gotta love free states
I want this gun, but with a red dot sight, these sights will not co-witness. Could someone comment on changing out the regular sights so that I could co-witness?
The XDM in .45ACP is the exact same frame size. This was confirmed by Springfield. I have Talon grips and a Vedders IWB holster made for the .45 that fit perfectly.
Ya just tap the pin out and the magwell pops off. Tap the pin back in to keep the grip back strap on. Ya have to remove tge maxwell to use the extended mags anyway. My comment is way late so I'm sure everyone know this by now. But the 9mm and 45acp of this are discontinued by the end of November 24 anyway and the new gun is the Echelon and the compact echelon 4.0c 9mm is coming out now mid December .
Agreed, I have the full size 10mm I can use it on lol I was going to get the Glock 29 just to mix it up but Springfield just come with too many extras to not buy it
Oops - good catch - I used the wrong clip (we filmed comparison footage the same day) and neither of us caught it during editing and QA. There is footage of this gun at the end, the screwup is only in the beginning clip).
It's not really that compact. When comparing it to the glock 20 with both upside down on the table it's barely shorter with the 11 round mag. With 15 rounders in both the Springfield is actually a good bit taller. Also th large slide release sticks out and with a thin holster it's uncomfortable iwb. It's a good pistol so far just don't want people to be surprised how large it is in real life like I was. Wish the barrel was longer actually cause the barrel ain't the hard part to conceal the grip is.
Well, this is exactly why you always go to a local gun store and hold/handle/shoot a gun before buying one. This should be a rule of thumb everyone should follow.
@@caliber693 I agree but sometimes if the gun is never in-stock you just have to go off reviews. It's a good gun shoots great and all just isn't quiet as compact as some make it seem in the reviews. It's growing on me.

@@caliber693 I've had glock 20s for over a decade they work great if not shooting super hot loads. I've had this gun a couple weeks now and shot a couple hundred rounds so far with good results. Tough choice for me if I had to pick one over the other.
The problem that everyone is having with the magwell is due to the bad design of the grip! It's too short, therefore too small for the average sized hand! A larger hand just does not fit on the grip and injures the pinkie finger!!! Personally, I like the gun, but hate the short grip! For that reason and that reason alone, I will not buy!!!
10:35 "Heavy robust rails in the back" Bullshit! The rails in the back are plastic. The gun will wear and the slide will loosen. Glocks, SIGs, S&Ws, CZs etc all have metal rails front and rear.
I am surprised they put out the 10mm after the original 9mm, instead of the .45. Having said that I would rather have the 9mm. It just seems it would be a better choice all around, unless you're using it for something specific, like a woods gun.
have you ever wrestled with someone on the ground for your life barely having a grip on your gun and the grip safety worked? thats why theyre bad. theyre not bad for most scenarios, theyre bad for some. this is a fantastic gun but that grip safety needs to be pinned to be carried safely.
@@62dobie I've pinned every single one of my 1911s that I considered carrying. It was a terrible idea 100 years ago and it's still a terrible idea. Christian, Have to thourally checked the reviews? Dosent sound like it. The M&P in 10mm have the highest failure rate. Great in 9mm but not so good in the 10s. Course thats using the hot bear loads. Which is why most folks are getting them, for BEAST backup guns. Just food for thought.....
10mm auto is for insecure, low self-esteem, small penis(metaphor and sometimes literal, especially when it effects their ego), overcompensating, obnoxious blowhards! The truly ideal cartridge caliber is the .40 s&w, but 180gr was always too heavy, great for 10mm auto though, between 135gr minimum and 165gr maximum parameters with 155gr/150gr bullet weight is best in my opinion!

I'll take one in .45acp
Hammer Striker,
Thank you very much for the highly informative video.
They probably meant it holds 11 one in the chamber
@@laloalonzo2461,
Thank you very much for your reply.
Well you're a beta male so that would be why, 10mm shoots just fine, if you're so worried about it get a ported barrel little guy
I thought they held 11 rounds (11+1)??
You are correct. He got it wrong.
Springfield 10mm is the freaking truth...I'm in love😒😒, uhm...my wife gotta sign these divorce papers😂🤣
Looks like a nice pistol, I just hate short receivers like that on a carry gun. Only gives you a 2 finger purchase on the grip. Can't do it. Especially with 10mm
You say front slide rails are steel. Mine sure look polymer. Rear polymer too as you said. I was surprised.
hey i seen this on rumble good sheet brother
HS Produkt makes the best firearms.
Hammer is a he11 of a shot!
The stock mag is actually 11 rounds.
True
I liked the plastic "suit" cases (as he calls them- they're just cases or gun cases) and doubt the foam and plastic that they were made of drive the price up much at all. The cardboard and bag are cheap. My Emissary .45 came that way.
I'm on the fence about buying one. I worry about availability of 10mm.
A good coyote slayer...maybe? Sounds like fun to try..haha
Thanks!
I have the XDM 5.25
10mm
And two
XDM Elite 10mm's in 4.5".
10mm's.
And a Sig XTEN
and S&W M&P
4.6" in 10mm..
No Glock.
Are sights plastic or metal?
I live in Pennsylvania my range would look at me like I’m crazy if my gun wasent holstered on my belt and I walked in carrying a gun bag … gotta love free states
I want this gun, but with a red dot sight, these sights will not co-witness. Could someone comment on changing out the regular sights so that I could co-witness?
I want to order grips for mine but 10mm is not offered through talon or other companies. Which frame size can I order to get grips on here? Thanks
The XDM in .45ACP is the exact same frame size. This was confirmed by Springfield. I have Talon grips and a Vedders IWB holster made for the .45 that fit perfectly.
I love the way everyone bashes .40; keeps my ammo available. Seriously.
That uncomfortable magwell is the biggest negative to that model. It will make you want to work it over with a belt sander.
Hard hitting and penetration with the right ammo like Fort scot ammo
How's the chamber support on it?
Any link for a mag grip extension?
Or IWB carry holsters?
What 15 rd mag is for a full size 10 mm or 45 full size
Does it fit in the XDM 3.8 45 acp kydex holster. Thanks.
Sorry but it holds 11 in the magazine. Don't go by the markings on the magazine. 11+1
Yep
Magwell on a compact pistol is goofy.
Agreed, I have the full size 10mm I can use it on lol I was going to get the Glock 29 just to mix it up but Springfield just come with too many extras to not buy it
I hope they will make a manual safety variant instead of grip safety, that would be ideal for me.
Appreciated.🏌🏿
I think the shooting footage in the beginning of this video is a Glock. Therefore, we cannot see how it performed in the range.
Oops - good catch - I used the wrong clip (we filmed comparison footage the same day) and neither of us caught it during editing and QA. There is footage of this gun at the end, the screwup is only in the beginning clip).
@@HammerStriker I missed the video in the end and you missed the video in the beginning. We're even now~p
Thanks for the review. Can you do a quick video or post a picture holding the gun with the magwell removed. Big hand syndrome..
That's some stout recoil
That recoil looks a little stout in that little thing.
@@rockie307 I'm actually looking into which 10mm I want to get, and this may be the one. It was this or the Glock 20 Gen 4, but since this is optics ready I may get it. I would get the new S&W ideally, but it has too many issues sadly.
@@caliber693 I've had glock 20s for over a decade they work great if not shooting super hot loads. I've had this gun a couple weeks now and shot a couple hundred rounds so far with good results. I carry in the backcountry for grizzly. Only negative I see with xdm so far is higher bore axis and the open hole on the back of the slide let's alot of sand in when riding horses , atvs and such. Tough choice for me if I had to pick one over the other.
@@rockie307 I'm almost certain I'm going to get the XDM rather than the Glock 20 now after watching a few more reviews on it.
Oh jeebers just no.
Then again, I’m coveting a 1911 kimber chambered in 9, so I’m admittedly nuts.
SURE WOULD LOVE FOR THE XDm TO
HAVE 《SIDE SAVED 》I WOULD PUT
MY 《1911 DOWN 》GOD BLESS
The problem that everyone is having with the magwell is due to the bad design of the grip! It's too short, therefore too small for the average sized hand! A larger hand just does not fit on the grip and injures the pinkie finger!!!
Personally, I like the gun, but hate the short grip! For that reason and that reason alone, I will not buy!!!
Needs thumb safety
10:35 "Heavy robust rails in the back" Bullshit! The rails in the back are plastic. The gun will wear and the slide will loosen. Glocks, SIGs, S&Ws, CZs etc all have metal rails front and rear.
I am surprised they put out the 10mm after the original 9mm, instead of the .45. Having said that I would rather have the 9mm. It just seems it would be a better choice all around, unless you're using it for something specific, like a woods gun.
I got the 9mm looks just the same tho probably a lil heavier
If I could take off the grip safety I would buy one
Night. It.
have you ever wrestled with someone on the ground for your life barely having a grip on your gun and the grip safety worked? thats why theyre bad. theyre not bad for most scenarios, theyre bad for some. this is a fantastic gun but that grip safety needs to be pinned to be carried safely.
Lol, that's is when you need to know hand to hand combat.
I've never pinned any of my 1911's. Why would this be any different?
@@62dobie I've pinned every single one of my 1911s that I considered carrying.
It was a terrible idea 100 years ago and it's still a terrible idea. I've personally seen guys on a normal range target shooting not activate a 1911's grip safety, never mind in a fight.
Just because you do something stupid doesn't make it less stupid 🤣
@@maximusjoseppi5904
What does pinning involve?
Needs a thumb safety for CCW. Safety 1st.
This is soo SEXY
Springfield (once upon a time my favorite gun) should close it's doors after releasing that junk Hellcat.
What about the Hellcat you dislike? What makes it junk?
Good video. Onto the gun… Springfield suxs. Glock 29 has less felt recoil. Springfield magazine feed lips are the worst in the industry. Hickok45 notes this in one of his videos. Drop the mag on the lips and they fail. They’re hysterical too fragile.
Weapons are not enough to be made in Pakistan and China, they can be used in any country, but Pakistan and China are disposable
Loooong take up.
Who would carry a 10 mm every day for protection against criminal people?
People that live in Chicago
@@laloalonzo2461 bs
Jake, a prosecutor would slay a person in court for using a 10mm for people self defense. Its a woods gun for bears & other lethal nasties. Demonazies are demonizing every gun owner every way they can. Even satanist scumbag lying Joe said the 9 will blow the lungs right out of a man. And the demonazi fools in a rigged jury beleive him.
M&P 10mm 4 inch model is better.
