About the locator... I always thought it was mainly there to serve as a breadcrumb trail, as I never really felt discouraged from exploring. I actually had the opposite feeling, seeing as I felt free to rummage around hallways and non-critical rooms, knowing I could just hit a button and basically be told "Whenver you're ready to get back on track, stuff's in this direction." I never once got lost in Dead Space, and barely consulted the maps.
Exactly. I basically never use the map, instead using the locator to tell me where I need to go, before promptly running in the opposite direction to go and explore
One little detail I love is the name of the Ishimura. In Japanese, "Ishi" can mean "rock," and "Mura" can mean "village." Describes the ship pretty well. A mobile community that processes rocks and minerals.
This game was always special to me. My name is Isaac, so hearing my name whispered into my ears through my headphones was always so terrifying. Plus, at the time I had a gf also named Nicole, which was such a crazy coincidence. Plus loving horror it really felt the game was made for me.
The most disturbing thing about this game is the baby clones being created for bioprosthetic limbs in chapter 2. The haunting sound of crying babies mixed into the droning ambience is hypnotic. This game is something else. P.S. That closing statement ending with a punch from the soundtrack played at the exact moment when Birkin injects the G-Virus is top-tier production.
Yes! That room with all the bloody baby chunks lying in buckets was freaky! Finding all the logs detaling how chopping up baby clones is just standard routine onboard deep space vessels paints a very disturbing picture of the game universe.
@@truecashew Yes. Dead Space is very grounded and subtle with its horror elements. But it does not pull any punches either. Everyone is susceptible to the Marker infection, including infants and adolescents. The sequel went even further with the school section. I wish more horror games were like this.
I will always love the use of classical strings in the theme for Outbreak that plays over the events that lead to Resident Evil 2, also featuring William injecting himself with G and rampaging on the Umbrella commandos, infecting the rats and seemingly fuelling the greater outbreak in the city
28:50 As to the guide path mechanism I absolutely love this feature bc it shows you where to go, that way you can explore every other area before moving towards the next objective. It pisses me off in games when they won't tell you this is a doorway with an un-skipable cutscene that won't let you go back and explore the previous area. This mechanic in Dead Space is always my go to for how games should operate showing you "The way" and "The Not way". I understand where your coming from but I always found this extremely helpful in navigating and exploring other places in the environment.
I adore the floor line system, I used it primarily to make sure I wasn't going in a direction that was going to lock me off from exploring. Too many games punish exploration by locking areas off if you accidentally picked the progression path to explore first and its something that puts me off linear games, so having the line eased my anxiety about that. It was also helpful for re-orienting in 0g areas if things got too hectic and you lost your landmarks or orientation.
50 minutes of Dead Space by Suzi? Heck yeah! Also, I'm both surprised, and not surprised that one of the main people behind Dead Space would also be someone who made Barbie games before
I’ve actually watched a few playthroughs of different Barbie games and all of them had a slight but noticeable sense of Eldritch Horror to them, which I can’t describe the why or what that instills that tiny sense of it..which just makes it even more appropriate!
I JUST finished this game for the first time on PC and was absolutely blown away. Cannot believe this game is nearly 15 years old. It played so well and felt so fresh. Incredible game, so much fun. Definitely looking forward to the remake :)
I literally just subbed to her channel a couple of days ago. I expected her next video to be some time from now. Color me surprised when this popped up in my feed. Stoked. She’s great.
Dead Space is one of those games I replay at least once a year. It’s just that solid of an experience. And it’s just enough time in between to get surprised and scared when the necromorphs burst out of vents. There’s one part where you can see shadows of necromorphs in the distance and you know you have no other choice but to approach it. Man does it freak me out every time even after all these years. Dead space came out when I started high school. And now at age 30, it still is one hell of a ride.
I think the vent crashing would have been more effective if you couldn't tell, at a glance, which vents were valid entry points for the gribblies and which ones weren't. After the third or fourth time, you can enter a room and *immediately* identify where the monsters will be coming from when you trip the event flag.
I really do adore the Prisoner Protagonist concept far more, but even then I'd have to admit that making Isaac an engineer made him far more grounded and relatable, sort of like an every man but still a professional. Not a fan that he became more of a super soldier later on, doing action scenes like a Marvel hero, but hey, man's went through some shit.
I think it’s in character as somebody’s gotta do the job no one else wants to do he’s the perfect necromorph killer and no one else is better than him at the job ❤😊
I half don't consider the sequels "real sequels" given how obvious the pressure to be Uncharted 2-y and multiplayer shootery they were, respectively. Not bad games by a mile (even 3 has its appeal to me), but compromised compared to the first for sure.
I remember seeing this game on the front of a Game Informer magazine at 12 years old, being hopelessly fascinated by the idea of it. I read the article every day until it finally released. It was the first game I ever preordered. It will always be one of my all time favorite games, just like it has been since it dropped.
By the time I got to the ending sequence so many years ago, I think I actually shed a tear or two. Through the videos and text logs, I felt a connection with Isaac that hadn't been felt since Silent Hill 2. Thanks for the video Sphere Hunter
same. i liked isaac being a silent protagonist. due to him being silent, in my first playthrough i could never be sure how much sane he was or how much he is actually communicating with hammond and the other karen girl about the weird supernatural hallucinating stuffs that he sees and hears constantly while on the ship etc. this really added extra layer of suspense and intrigue about whats to come or how much of it is all in his head, which we will totally miss out on by him being a fully voiced protagonist
My favourite horror game by FAR. What Glen Schofield and his team accomplished with it is absolutely insane. I can't wait for the remake to be released. Awesome work as always Suzi
Get Callisto Protocol , since that one is actually his game (assuming it's well made). The remake is made only by EA, and let's not forget they were the ones that killed Visceral Studios
This original game is important to me. I was in my early 20s when this came out and I bought it day one and my 3 friends just watched as I played through about 80% of the game that same night. I made a friend for life in my local comic book shop after they overheard me talk about how much I love this game. I had the opportunity to give an extra copy of the first issue of the Dead Space comic to the keyboardist/singer of The World is a Beautiful Place… who I had a crush on and knew they were a fan of Dead Space as well. It’s honestly surprising what a piece of media can mean to others and the experiences that are grown from them. Great video by the way. That turret section was a slog, wasn’t it? Hahaha!
What I love the most about Dead Space (and similarly Bioshock) is that every part of the game just makes sense. Mechanics, monster design, level design, storytelling, characters and presentation are all intertwined and inform each other to immerse you in the adventure.
16:08 Wow, I've played through Dead Space countless of times. For some reason I never used the pulse rifle, so I never knew you could do that. That's honestly sick af
The pulse rifle is such a perfect multipurpose weapon alongside the plasma cutter, especially with some damage upgrades making it incredibly ammo efficient.
I’m glad there’s someone else giving Dead Space 2 the credit it deserves. Not as “scary” as the first. But it does everything a sequel should do and it was (imo) the perfect closing story for Isaacs character. Especially the way it ends?? Him thinking he’s gonna see Dead Nicole again but it’s just Ellie! Ugh just perfect
but Dead Space 3 was def the best... Why am I hearing crickets. The crickets... they're watching me... they whisper... things... what?! lIAR? LIAR??? yOU are AlL JuSt criCKets? DONT TALK TO ME LIKE THAT!!!
God I love Glen Schofield and I’m so happy he’s getting to make his original idea for Dead Space in the Callisto Protocol. Absolutely can’t wait to play that and watch your in depth review of it!
@@TomAnderson7 lol unfortunately I didn’t want to finish her video because I don’t want to see anything passed what I’ve gotten to. I’m thoroughly enjoying it so far, think some of the hate/criticism is valid but others are just going too hard. I won’t say anything else but this, I’m sure most of us played The Last of Us. I know we connect more to those characters, but when we look at the style of combat and high linear story telling. That and Callisto are the same, very repetitive enemies and a pretty basic but I would say satisfying combat system. Like TLoU2 I think Callisto sets a good foundation to dive into the skill tree more and go into more intricate combos ie. God of War. Not that crazy, but I’ve accepted that this is more action than horror on my play through. So embrace that further imo.
God , I love dead space so much. The lore, the god tier sound design, the atmosphere, the first time a Brute rushed at me while I screamed at the tv screen "hoooww the fuck am I gonna kill that?!" I still play it to this day. Fantastic video.
Watching this again right after calisto protocol video and it is crazy to me how much better looking this game is. Not necessarily fidelity wise, but design and atmosphere/aesthetic. To keep it brief, I can actually see the ship and the story taking place in the ship by visuals alone. All the more engaging and creepy.
It's sad for me, because you can tell, playing TCP, that they wanted to just make Dead Space all over again, but couldn't find a good way to recapture that magic.

I love that you mentioned how isaacs weapons arent actually meant for combat but are just tools being repurposed for it. Really points to how well thought out the game was.
I remembered being so wowed by this game when it first came out. Watching my roommates in college playing through this it was just such an interesting horror experience. I loved that the HUD was on Isaac himself, and the weapons were so out-there compared to your standard guns. Really hoping that remake lives up to the original.
I only played Dead Space once when I was like 15, before I became obsessed with horror games. After watching this video, I feel like I can experience this game in a completely different way, almost like playing it for the first time again :) Thank you Suzi
Dead Space actually took over as my favorite survival horror franchise when I played the original. Even more so when DS2 was released, Gunner Wright has made Issac one of my favorite video game protagonists. Was overjoyed they brought him back to voice Issac in the remake 😀 From the tactical defeating of foes to the sound and atmosphere. This game series is one of few that has terrified me. Don't get me started on the pursuer/regenerators in DS1 and 2 XD
44:14 he actually deleted the video, if you go into free cam on PC, a hollowgram will appear from his his saying audio log deleted, the base camera is angled in such a way that the rig hologram is hidden. It's a cool easter egg for PC players.
I am of the mind that Dead Space is not simply the singular masterpiece of survival horror around which every other game in the genre maintains an elliptical orbit. It is the pinnacle of diagetic design, a flawless fusion of fashion and function. Like the lesson that's laid on Futurama's Bender by the best portrayal of a deity I've ever seen: "You'll know you've done the job right when they don't know you've done anything at all."
Well just going by the most basic of what people usually millennials and zoomers herp derp out as "survival horror" Dead Space is anything but survival horror.....Which tells me the majority of people who cry about survival horror don't actually know what it actually is, beyond "hurrrr i plaed Rezident Evul when I wuz 10" OR "hurrr I plaed Silant Hill when i wuz 10". Using those "special" people's definition Dead Space is not survival horror in any way. Its freeze, grab shoot off limbs, get buried in ammo repeat...Using the "special" people's definition "survival horror" can only be "survival horror" is if the character is completely incompetent, completely useless, unable to even competently swing a small object, has extremely limited access to guns and ammunition regardless of the setting, even IF its a police station, military base, space ship that has an armory etc.....Somehow IF your at all competent or capable its "action horror" because there in again millennials and zoomers have no clue what survival horror or horror really is, these are the same people who generally call things like Scream, I know What You Did Last Summer etc "horror films".

Dead Space made me remember what it's like to want to run from enemies when the only way out is through them, or the feeling of being scared to move forward through an uneasy corridor after hearing metal scraping, creaking, or howling (which is all the freaking time in this game lol). It's definitely up there in some of my favorite games of all time. It took everything I loved about the first Resident Evil, and then topped it off with all my favorite space-horror vibes from my favorite movies. A masterpiece. A shame Calisto Protocol isn't living up to the legacy so much. I came here to remember why I was so excited for it lol
This will always hold a special place in my heart. It came out on my birthday (oct 31), I didn't knew about it or heard of it. With poor Isaac's "uh.... You realize I'm named after two of the greatest science fiction writers of all time?" "...no that must've not been in the memo....you're uh...sayin' ther--------" "YES THERE'S FLICKING MORE!"

The first Dead Space will always have a special place in my heart as the first horror game that actively scared me as I played it. I could only play one chapter at a time before calling it a day. But now I can complete it in about two sittings while (mostly) keeping my cool.
Sphere Hunter makes some great content, I love how she takes her time talking about each and every mechanic in her videos. You can tell there is true appreciation there. She's real cute too.

Oh and I just wanna say thank you for covering this. Its refreshing to see my fav series with another pair of eyes to catch stuff I didn't and expand on em.
I'll forever remember the original Dead Space as being my first real foray into horror games. As someone who had never played anything remotely like this, the sounds, ambience, visual storytelling and sheer coldness of the Ishimura, and the slow descent into madness of everyone within the game is something that I'll always remember and look back on fondly. It's a shame that Callisto Protocol was such a letdown, but I'm hopeful the Dead Space Remake can recapture a lot of the charms that made the original stand out, and I look forward to your look through that game too.
i was never able to finish this game but what I played was phenomenal. can't wait for the remaster so i might play the original at some point before the remaster comes out.
Dead space 1 & 2 are some of my most favorite games! Love to hear people talk about them with such passion, and the music that was used througout the video was super fitting.
Calisto Protocol has some audiobook stuff out right now with different characters, and it is really REALLY good, at least I believe it to be; it's voiced very well
It's very rare these days that i'm actively looking forward to a games release, but the remakes of Dead Space and Resi 4 are certainly two of them (The only other game announcements that would hype me would probably be a Remake of Dino Crisis and Prince of Persia: Sands of time maybe). Glad you're covering this game. 👍 Love your content! ❤
OHMGarsh, a modern Dino Crisis.... I accidentally cleaned a box out of my room few months ago and had some copies of I think it was Game Informer, the OG Dino Crisis, still high off of FFVII Remake and hadn't even heard they were doing Dead Space.... "Done right now THAT would be a nice remake. Capcom's got the tools, doubt there's the demand but ah to dream."
If they remake Dino crisis, I think if any sequels follow it would be best if they were original and not remakes of 2 or 3. I know people love 2 but it's a big departure from 1 and I believe it would be best to have the series more consistent with what it wants to be.
@@shazmodeus2795 Yeah i know. Though honestly, judging by the trailer they released way back when, it was for the better. The Development team received massive backlash for what footage they presented, and no wonder really.
i'm looking forward to the callisto protocol. also if you haven't done a video on it i would recommend alien isolation. its a fantastic sequel to the first movie where you play as ellen ripley's daughter trying to find out what happend to the nostromo and her mother in the first film. its such a good survior horror game because they nail the a.i of the xenomorph so well. you are terrified of it the whole game.
Dead Space 1, Silent Hill 2, and the Resident Evil 1 remake form the (un)holy Trinity of horror games for me. I can't decide which one I like the most but Dead Space definitely has my favorite setting.
I'll never forget how dead space was keepingt the survival horror spirit alive for a little bit longer. We all had to deal with re games that were full of action for about 10 years and finally it all came back a couple of years ago and it's so great to finally see it all come back how it all started again with re7, re2 remake, re village, now callisto protocol, dead space remake, and re4 remake many more including games by puppet combo and many indie developers who are trying to carry the torch. Survival horror has to be my all time favorite genre because that's what I grew up with in the 90s as a 90s kid. Playing these remakes and brings so much joy into my body because not only am I playing these remake from a different perspective, but also people who have never played the originals get to plays these remakes and then play the originals. I hope it stays that way too.
That asteroid shooter part was the reason I put this down way back then. I only picked it back up this year and finished it. I also played and finished 2 and 3 right after.
Coming to an arcade near you, Dead Code. Dismantle mean comments by using your mouse and keyboard. Upgrade your cooling system from a measly aircooled fan to a Vodka cooled closed liquid cooling system. From the creator of Dad Space: Mancave creator. Dead Sace 1 and 2 are some of the coolest games ever made, the way the developers pulled things off is impressive. The regenerating enemies sure was stressful. The silouette of the USG Ishimura is such a great and thought out design.
I remember reading about this on a game stop magazine back in 2008 ish? Dont remember but when it came out, I was stationed in Ketchikan AK. It was early Winter and to further immerse myself, I had one window open and all phone/mobile phones turned off. Played it for 24 hours straight and I became a fan. I had most of the merch and played all of the OG games. To this day, I am still waiting for a live action adaptation to happen, or at the very least before I die.
The way you describe games with the backdrop of OG resident evil themes, makes me so nostalgic. I want to take the day off and play dead space 1 again now.
I remember watching Markiplier play these games back in the day and bought them for myself afterwards. Such an incredible experience of terror and cosmic horror. really cool to hear you talk about them. Forgot how much I loved them. and you look like you’ve handled the whole exposure to the marker pretty well, good job. Look good.
“Turns out people didn’t like the prisoner aspect of the game… but they loved the space setting” Me: *Maniacal jerma like laughter knowing how Callisto turned out and knowing schoefield might have wanted to take the hint*
DS3 is not bad at all, i know the common consensus is to dunk on it, but it had a lot of good moments, the horror for me and probably for every service member on this planet, is not to die but being forgotten & left behind on some forsaken place (basically burried alive) without closure for anybody at home & nobody knowing about the sacrifices and hardships you all had to endure to save everybody else, from Isaacs perspective the horror is to realise that brighter & tougher people failed in what he is about to do, questioning every decision as "they probably already tried this and it didnt work" running only on fumes of hope and love for Ellie, broken and not knowing if what he does is from his own will or because he is being manipulated again.. and if you have the DLC...you know he was right about it all...
@@DerDrecksack87 Well said, and I actually agree with your point. My comment was more directed at how this series had hit such highs just to have the plug pulled unceremoniously after a bunch of media that had largely been well received. I think DS3 gets a bad rap and is very enjoyable. I would have loved to see a full game based around the flotilla traveling of the game’s first third.
@@TrixyTrixter well I did see its flaws. i looked past the stuttering and technical issues because that would just get fixed and it's an unfortunate part of modern gaming norms now. i liked the atmosphere. the combat is kind of broken in a positive and bad sense. you can easily 1v1 enemies because of dodging, but as soon as they add multiple enemies it becomes a dice roll if you stay on target or shift to something else. GRP makes most encounters easy as the environment has 1-hit kill items just scattered around. I had a fun time playing overall and would like to see this series flourish. but it has some missed opportunities. i'll play it again when ng+ is out and the dlcs.
@@Bull625 Great for you. I had no technical issues personally. But I just found the combat very boring. grining down into a system of use GRP to kill of most enemies leaving maybe 1 or 2. Finish the last off with melee. And to me at least the melee just feels like a quick time event, its the same thing on every enemy without variation and you solve all melee encounters this one way. Hold direction to dodge, swap until they finish they combo, spam attack button, repeat. The game looks beautiful and has atmosphere but it kinda breaks for me when the enemies stop being scary because they are so non threatening.
@@TrixyTrixter yeah i agree with that. with deadspace you had to think on what weapon to use. what worked better for others. or just use plasma cutter. but the engagements felt so much different. but yeah the combat system in callisto is holding it back.
I've played and finished... Dead Space 1 = 12 times, Dead Space 2 = 15 times & Dead Space 3 = 3 times. 1 & 2 are just awesome, while 3 not so much, didn't like it's forced and unnecessary love triangle crap most especially.
I honestly preferred 3 over 2 but that's more due to its level design being better. There are like 3 of like fuck tonne of chapters that has combat with people which is off-putting but looking past that it's a solid game, it is also a fair amount longer than the other 2 as well.
You put in incredible amount of research and respect towards your videos that's is amazing to watch and listen to. Including your nervousness and anxiety with your excessive blinking. It just shows how much you care overall
You mentioned playing this with JUST the plasma cutter. A friend of mine had this game back on ps3, and it was one of his only games at the time. He loved it so much that he would replay it with various challenges. Eventually, he played it through on the hardest difficulty, plasma cutter only, no upgrades.
Your end comments unlocked a memory. When I first played RE2 as a youngling, there was an ad for Slient Hill in the Jewel case. Some nurse, I forget the quote. Like "Welcome to Silent Hill" or something like that. Well, I wasn't interested at first, but then I tried it out. Obviously it blew my mind, and I've been hooked on the genre since. I really enjoyed this video. You being dazzling in the intro and your sultry voice throughout certainly didn't hurt it.
Thank you for being one of the only people I've ever seen appreciate the Pulse Rifle alt fire in DS1 I'm emotionally devastated it never came back it's the best. I will never recover. We are never seeing the Rave again.
I hear you playing that Signalis music in the background! I loved Signalis, best survival horror in ages. It definitely feels like Signalis is riffing off of Dead Space in some ways. The game clearly has more prominent influences and inspirations, but I wouldn't be surprised if the 1st Dead Space wasn't also in the mix. Great video as always. And I totally agree with you on Martyrs. Never going to watch that movie.

I actually had the opposite feeling, seeing as I felt free to rummage around hallways and non-critical rooms, knowing I could just hit a button and basically be told "Whenver you're ready to get back on track, stuff's in this direction."
I never once got lost in Dead Space, and barely consulted the maps.
Exactly. I basically never use the map, instead using the locator to tell me where I need to go, before promptly running in the opposite direction to go and explore
My first playthrough, I didn't even know there was a map. Kinda embarrassing to admit
One little detail I love is the name of the Ishimura. In Japanese, "Ishi" can mean "rock," and "Mura" can mean "village." Describes the ship pretty well. A mobile community that processes rocks and minerals.
And homage to RE4 being surrounded by Rock in a Village
Ooo.
This game was always special to me. My name is Isaac, so hearing my name whispered into my ears through my headphones was always so terrifying. Plus, at the time I had a gf also named Nicole, which was such a crazy coincidence. Plus loving horror it really felt the game was made for me.
Neat

@@bharris8205 ???? this is the most believable thing ive read on the internet in months ???
I never knew about this until today. Jeez, now I wish I didn't know.
Thank goodness we don't murder and chop up real life bebies. 👀
I can’t wait to replay this game a million times again ☺️
A time honoured tradition
Can’t believe the remake is just out Jan next year😊
Hope it's not too f up
Suzi: Don't watch Martyrs 2008
Me: Okay lets check out some clips.
Me after seeing Martyrs 2008: Yuck! I'm glad half of it is censored.
Oh yeah, and Calisto Protocol as well!
It was also helpful for re-orienting in 0g areas if things got too hectic and you lost your landmarks or orientation.
yep, i was the same, and i belive many other players as well. that line worked more as a "last place to go" guide than a true guideline.
50 minutes of Dead Space by Suzi? Heck yeah!
Also, I'm both surprised, and not surprised that one of the main people behind Dead Space would also be someone who made Barbie games before
Barbie is well known for instilling a love of gore.
Just like Shinji Mikami with Goof Troop and Aladdin
Or Mick Gordon who previously worked on Nickelodeon / THQ games & spinoffs.
I’ve actually watched a few playthroughs of different Barbie games and all of them had a slight but noticeable sense of Eldritch Horror to them, which I can’t describe the why or what that instills that tiny sense of it..which just makes it even more appropriate!
It’s crazy to imagine that they went from making Barbie games to create one the best survival horror games of all time.
I JUST finished this game for the first time on PC and was absolutely blown away. Cannot believe this game is nearly 15 years old. It played so well and felt so fresh. Incredible game, so much fun. Definitely looking forward to the remake :)
Dead Space is 14 years old now, and still looks great. It really was a groundbreaking game for its time.
I love Glen Schofield, I love Isaac Clarke, I love Dead Space and I love your content, Suzi!
I literally just subbed to her channel a couple of days ago. I expected her next video to be some time from now. Color me surprised when this popped up in my feed. Stoked. She’s great.
This video made me whole...
Can't emphasise enough how phenomenal the ambience and atmosphere in dead space 1 and 2 was
Dead Space is one of those games I replay at least once a year.
This was really well put together. You can tell you have internalized so much of the game and love it to itty-bitty necrotized pieces.
Well done.
Now we are getting the prisoner protagonist in The Callisto Protocol.
I half don't consider the sequels "real sequels" given how obvious the pressure to be Uncharted 2-y and multiplayer shootery they were, respectively.
Not bad games by a mile (even 3 has its appeal to me), but compromised compared to the first for sure.
Dead Space 2 is basically RE4 in space and I don't know why people like the latter and dislike the former when they're almost the same game 🤷♂️
How is he relatable? He has a girlfriend.
I was literally playing Dead Space moments ago and thought "hm, I wonder if Sphere Hunter has ever reviewed this?" The Marker's blessings are upon us!
Praise altmann!
(reloads plasma cutter)
Way to make us whole
The time for convergence is near!
Me too, but moments ago was 2008 😭
I see that you’re setting up that inevitable Dead Space 2 video with the Ellie cosplay
@@btchiaintkidding7837 Maybe we'll get an option to turn off Isaac's dialogue through an in-game menu.
What'd you guys think of the remake? Not gonna lie I was worried but I loved everything about it, Issac talking just makes him seem much more real
Who's ready for The Callisto Protocol dropping in a few days?

@@fejuro2000 Weird, but I'll allow it.
I really hope Callisto Protocol lives to the hype of being a spiritual sucessor for Dead Space.
My favourite horror game by FAR. What Glen Schofield and his team accomplished with it is absolutely insane. I can't wait for the remake to be released. Awesome work as always Suzi
Also Callisto Protocol, hope Schofield returns with a fantastic new game
Get Callisto Protocol , since that one is actually his game (assuming it's well made). The remake is made only by EA, and let's not forget they were the ones that killed Visceral Studios
My Favorite game of all time.
@@juanrigallardo It's not made by EA, it's made by motive. They are a great studio and passionate about remaking dead space.
@@TheHalloweenSpirit well that was whack
It's definitely an awesome supermove
Ngl it's a huge waste of ammo imo
The pulse rifle is such a perfect multipurpose weapon alongside the plasma cutter, especially with some damage upgrades making it incredibly ammo efficient.
This and Dead Space 2 will always be two of my favorite games of all time.

This comment didn’t age well lol
Yea I did the same thing and had the same experience. Really disheartening to hear how much CP missed the mark.
It's sad for me, because you can tell, playing TCP, that they wanted to just make Dead Space all over again, but couldn't find a good way to recapture that magic.
Y’all seriously pushing lol
@@MrAjking808 Nah, their not. Played it through yesterday and today for the first time. Frankly, the storyline choices were bizarre (some of the railroading was ridiculous) and the characters, especially the MC, were generally stupid in their actions. I gotta shout out the Signalis music at the end.....another absolutely amazing survival horror set in space. Really hope we get a video on that too.
I'm so glad that you are giving your thoughts on Dead Space (2008), Suzi. This is one of my favorite video games within the survival horror genre. Can't wait to see your thoughts on Dead Space 2.
Dead Space is one of my fav games of all time (alongside its immediate sequel), and seeing someone as passionate about horror games as Suzi is certainly a treat. 😁
This game became my favorite of all time after one playthrough when I was in high school. I have replayed this game so many times.
16:16 ''The Fuck Everything button'' It was glorious when you showed what it was.
Suzi, you're honestly such a huge inspiration for me. I've really been struggling with who I am recently, so seeing you being brave and throwing up fantastic videos is so uplifting. Keep up the good work, you're amazing.
She is an inspiration to all of us. She inspires me to keep creating and working on my youtube channel. Her videos are so polished and well put together. We love you, Suzi 💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿
"Why are all these people so cranky, don't they have SNACKIES in the future?"
Suzi never fails in making me want to replay games I’ve beaten a bunch of times again when her reviews come out. ❤

@@lutherheggs451 Um, are you alright, Ser? I am sincerely baffled by the incoherent rambling I just read three consecutive times. All I took away was that you're upse, so I ask your forgiveness. I didn't mean to enrage you, Ser.
@@lutherheggs451 someone forgot to take their meds
That's pretty excessively flowery, but Dead Space is indeed a great example of diagetic design.
@@dc8836 Perfectly fair to say so, Ser. I pray I might be pardoned of my propensity for frivolously florid prose. Way I see it, words contain a wealth of wonder and are weirdly worthy of...well, worship.
Me my mom bought it because she loved the box's cover, it was the first game I got all the achievements for, first game I played with my highschool sweetheart and lastly the first game I specifically work day and night to get a good headset to fully enjoy it.
Thanks for covering it Suzi, you rock!
I had so much fun playing this awesome space horror title! When I got to the ending, I nearly jumped out of my seat! Looking forward to dismembering more Necromorphs in the Dead Space Remake!
Was that a Signalis reference in the opening? Deep dive/review coming soon perhaps?! That would be amazing. Edit: So much Signalis music in this! Why you gotta punch us in the feels, Suzi?

Leon Kennedy: “Well, since you fought your own, I killed a cult leader who leads parasite controlled people.”

Dead Space is awesome and i cant wait for the remake and Callisto Protocol!
Btw Suzy, i hope you try Signalis :D
i was never able to finish this game but what I played was phenomenal. can't wait for the remaster so i might play the original at some point before the remaster comes out.
Isaac Clarke: “Where’s everyone going, bingo?”
Sadly, it seems that the PoP: SoT remake that was supposed to release last January has become vaporware.
@@logiclunacy606 Oh definitely. I actually really liked Dino Crisis 2, but 1 is clearly the objectively better game.

I just finished that game and all I have to say is… The Fear Is Real!
This is my favorite horror series, so glad the remake is coming and gave Isaac a voice.

this game still holds up really well
I remember reading about this on a game stop magazine back in 2008 ish? Dont remember but when it came out, I was stationed in Ketchikan AK. It was early Winter and to further immerse myself, I had one window open and all phone/mobile phones turned off. Played it for 24 hours straight and I became a fan. I had most of the merch and played all of the OG games. To this day, I am still waiting for a live action adaptation to happen, or at the very least before I die.

An excellent job as always! Can’t wait to hear what you think of DS2 and 3. What an amazing rise and fall this series had.
God I love this series so much. This video is phenomenal. I can't wait for calisto protocol, the remake, and the future videos you make. ^_^
So... How was Calisto? I was personally disappointed. Maybe you had a better time than me.
@@Bull625 Not sure you have to think to much of what to use, essentially anything works without to much problem. But yeah combat felt different there.
I beaten this game for the first time the other day, it was incredible, I'm playing the 2nd game already.
3 is a little worse but still enjoyable imo. Give it a shot.
I wish I had enough cash to play dead space 2 absolutely loved the first game can’t wait for the remake
I've played and finished... Dead Space 1 = 12 times, Dead Space 2 = 15 times & Dead Space 3 = 3 times. 1 & 2 are just awesome, while 3 not so much, didn't like it's forced and unnecessary love triangle crap most especially.
I consider dead space 2 the 2nd greatest horror game of all time.
The 1st being the first FEAR ofc.
Wonder if they'll add player model animations to fit the voice tracks they're giving Issac in the remake. Interested to see what they have him say.
You mentioned playing this with JUST the plasma cutter. A friend of mine had this game back on ps3, and it was one of his only games at the time. He loved it so much that he would replay it with various challenges. Eventually, he played it through on the hardest difficulty, plasma cutter only, no upgrades.
*What is wrong with your face?* 😱
