@N8DE420 great question! I don't ever plan on running anything after the engine is turned off. An isolator does exactly what it's named after. It isolates the main battery from the secondary (this is actually called a house battery in rv situations), which will save your main (starting) battery. Honestly, most vehicles now won't even charge the secondary battery with an isolator.
