This guy is the most honest, practical doctor that I have ever heard. I have been a surgeon for 34 years and he is speaking the absolute truth! Praise to both doctors for being so honest!
I had high blood pressure, so my doctor gave me two types of heart medication. a little later My doc said I had high cholesterol and put me on Statin, and a couple of months later got inflamed joints and now I was prediabetic and my doctor put me on Metformin. and then I got protein in my urine. My health deteriorated quickly and I felt really sluggish and depressed, had aches and pains everywhere. swollen ankles, Itchy legs and so many other side effects as weight gain and really stiff legs. I knew that This was all bad. I started my carnivore diet after watching Dr. Berry. Today I have no heart medication, no Statin, no Metaformin and no bad symptoms. For me the results were complete in 6 weeks.
"Be your own advocate." If we learned anything during COVID, it was that the healthcare system is broken, and you can no longer trust them with your health. It's up to YOU.
So true… All the lies, misinformation and authoritarianism,… our eyes have been widely open, there’s no turning back, we can see through the establishment
Ok, i'm gonna try to keep this relatively short but that might be difficult...I have to share what my doc just told me this morning after a visit. I'm 62 years old, 5'10" and now at 275 lbs. Been doing the carnivore for 24 days now and started at 297 lbs. I started with sleep apnea, elbow pain, stiffness in my fingers, horrible sleep patterns, grogginess in the mornings and not wanting to get out of bed, high blood pressure, anxiety, back pain, pre-diabetic....you get the picture. As of today I no longer have the joint pain, I'm sleeping well and getting up at 5 without an alarm and feeling rested, and this month was the first month I've had a surplus of Ativan for the anxiety. All that being said, I was so anxious to tell the doc about all of this because I just knew he was going to be proud of me. Man oh man, I couldn't have been more wrong. I've been watching a lot of Dr. Berry's videos as well as Dr. Chaffees and other people as well and I keep hearing about how the medical people all keep perpetuating the lie that red meat and animal fats will give you a heart attack, we need our veggies, fiber is good for you.... So, his response was to this effect, not verbatim but very close; "It's great that you're losing weight and feeling better, so it's fine if you wanna keep doing this another three months or so -he had previously asked me how long I intended to keep this diet up to which I responded, "the rest of my life! It's not a diet, it's a lifestyle"- He said there were decades of "stone cold evidence" showing the correlation between eating saturated fats and too much animal products and heart disease. He said "you absolutely need your fruits and veggies for proper nutrients and vitamins. He said, "Fiber is essential to lowering the risk of colon cancer." I mean, he literally went right down the list of lies we've all heard most of our lives and stressed how important it all was. He reiterated several times that there was just piles and decades of evidence to show these are all truths. He said, "You want to stay away from social media as your go-to source for information because we just end up finding the information we want to hear." I wanted to say, "so you're telling me that I WANTED to hear that I need to QUIT my beloved sugar? No more mixing-sized bowls of Cap'n Crunch at 11 p.m.? That's what I wanted to hear???" Are you kuh-RAZY??? It's the last thing I wanted to hear. What I wanted to hear was the TRUTH and thank God He brought me to Dr. Berry's and Dr. Chaffee's UA-cam channels where they CITE their sources and show you the clinical evidence. Not only that, but the literally thousands of comments from people JUST LIKE ME who are testifying that this is the single best health decision they've ever made! So, super disappointed in him and time to find a new doc. Does he actually WANT me to go back to eating the way I was that brought me to 297 pounds, diabetic, aches and pains, brain fog....that's what he wants for my health??? No thank you. So thank you Dr. Berry and Dr. Chaffee and all the rest of you ordinary people like me who are sharing your testimonies regarding the TRUTH about proper nutrition. March on, soldiers!
Yeah, my nurse after I had a baby told me not to research anything about my health and baby and to just call the hospital if I had a question, I kid you not. Made me so mad…like we’re just too stupid to analyze data on our own….
Sir, I don't usually even READ long comments anywhere but for some reason I read yours, and it touched me. I'm almost in tears. I'm 63, and 258 lbs. I've tried several "diets", but cant stay going after a few days, even when they work! Ive read a hundred comments and testimonials on carnivore and I'm going to actually start today. Thank you for sharing and motivating me!
That "doctor" is certainly trying to keep you on the food and pharma industry treadmill: Eating processed food and taking high margin patented drugs as you limp towards the end of life, all the while being a stream of income for both industries.
I wish my brother had listened to me . For years he was diabetic , finally ending on metformin. This lead to kidney failure eventually after years on dialysis I lost him . 2 years ago I was diagnosed as diabetic so went on the keto / fasting diet . I’m no longer diabetic and follow more carnivore than anything else diet . Feeling amazing . Thanks guys
Good for you I wish my sister-in-law would listen to me and watch these videos, she's on so much meds diabetic, both kidneys replace also now heart issues, shes only 63 yrs
My hubby had a heart cath on Wednesday, when done the nurse & nutritionist came in & tried to sell the American heart association diet, I said all that fake food & I can't believe it's not butter 1 molecule away from plastic, no thank you. They told me I would be nexted on their table, I said not before you, they didn't like me, oh well
Many people that work in healthcare are both arrogant and ignorant at the same time A dangerous combination good for you to let them know they need to learn more
Due to fainting at work, ER doc referred me to a cardiologist. Cardiologist told me that I had a blockage requiring a stint. I wanted further testing so that was done at the hospital. Testing showed everything normal. I later learned that fainting was due to POTS. I had a similar experience with an orthopedic surgeon who said I needed two knee replacements. Again, “no” from me. My primary care doc never realized I had POTS. A functional doctor knew immediately that it was POTS. I’m 78, stubborn and do my own research. Back in the 70’s I told my doctor that I thought something was off with my blood sugar levels and was not taken seriously. Fifty years later it turns out that I was right. I currently have Hashimoto’s, neuropathy and POTS to deal with plus being pre diabetic. Thankfully I found Dr. Berry last week. Loads of research later, I’ve just started the carnivore diet. First change was losing all desire for coffee. I always had at least 2-3 cups daily. I thought buying meat instead of my usual mixture of fruits, veg and meat would be very expensive. My first meat purchase cost the same as my prior groceries. The carnivore diet seems to have lessened asthma symptoms so there’s been no need for the inhaler. Sleep has improved also.
Hubby has POTS due to a brain stem injury years ago. No one seems to take it seriously except me, who sees him struggle with nearly passing out every time he stands too quickly. His typical BP is 98/60, heart rate between 85-120 resting!
@@harvdog5669 Hi Harv Dog, I read your comment about caffeine/tea and your heart. I thought you might find this interesting, perhaps there was a connection. In TCM [traditional chinese medicine] there is a condition called "rising heat". It's symptoms include racing heart, faintness, palpitations, tinnitus, nite sweats, to name a few. And tea or coffee can cause it, along with certain foods like sweet foods, greasy foods spicy foods. I also had heart improvements after quitting tea and coffee as I had "rising heat". Even green tea causes rising heat symptoms for me😞 it is quite annoying. I just began Carnivore and we will see if it improves👍🤔😁
Dr. Ovadia fan girl here. He helped my husband regain and maintain his health thru diet and lifestyle optimizations. Listen well to these authentic and caring MDs
But when you listen to other doctors who say meat is bad for you .. they sound authentic ... Who shld we believe ! People hv said that some doctors are paid by these big farmers to promote carnival diets .... Am stuck yet I need a solution
@@byamukamaoliver966 It's def confusing. Especially when you have Dr. Berry pushing for people to join the group. He said in a recent video that there were 5200 members watching live. At the lowest membership rate of $5/month, that's $26,000 a month he gets from those people. His monthly rates go as high as $200/month. And who knows how many more members there are that weren't watching live. So we think he's doing us a great service, but is he saying this to make himself a rich man. Maybe he has his own motives like big pharma
My husband was told he had high cholesterol and was put on a statin. He also was diagnosed as pre-diabetic so was on metformin for that. He had low testosterone so had to have a shot every three weeks. After a few years of this, he developed liver cancer and died of that over 3 years ago at the age of 75. Having since learned about all the dietary issues that could have contributed to his health problems, I just wish I had known about all this years ago. He might still be with me. He didn't drink, didn't smoke, and tried to eat a nutritious diet. If we had only known...
Sorry for your loss, Wendy. I believe there are going to be millions of widows/widowers who, in the coming years, come to the conclusion that the mainstream medical community actually hastened the deaths of their loved ones.
@@billhesford6098 We live in country Australia so try and make the most of field dressings, attitude/gumption and beer/wine. I'm losing count of friends who've gone into hospital for 'emergency' related issues (broken bits) and come out with staph or worst ;-)
@@CynCopeland-TheAnswerIsMeat I think they are good for things like car accidents, stabbings, gunshots, bad burns and bleeding. Western medicine seems to be a dodgy bet.
I had a PCP and two cardiologists say keto is king. Some doctors care enough to learn the truth and care for their patients instead of following shady studies funded by lobbyists. ❤
Covid taught me a lot about Doctors and medical support staff. It pushed me over the top on how quick I am to trust without doing my own research. Thanks you Drs. For the awesome discussion I learned a lot.
Me too! It opened my eyes. I followed my gut. Years of experiences with doctors... Woke up. Now i know, i am on my own. No doctor has the intention to cure, but prolongue issues, which they 'manage' with their protocols.
I had a heart attack at 38. Was fully vegan from about 35 to 37, then went back to SAD until the heart attack. For a year after I avoided all red and fatty meat and mainly ate a pound of beans a day. Wish I found all this sooner. Been on carnavore for a few months now and feel incredible.
How old are you now? I had a heart attack just over a year ago. I’m now 44 years old. I eat carnivore with fruit post workout. Scans soon to see how the stent is doing and my cardiac output! Fingers crossed
So you were strict vegan then switched back to the standard American diet & suffered a heart attack & you're trying to not link the standard american diet that you've had for a few decades but instead try to blame the vegan diet that you've been on maybe shy of 2years are the culprit here is Fishy 🐟 to myself. Again, eat what you wish but eating beans loaded with fiber does necessarily spike insulin. Yes, one should pay attention on their daily carb intake but there is a huge difference between white sugar & black beans overall. There are many, many protein rich foods in vegetarianism.
Been vegan and vegetarian for 10 years+. Have Multiple Sclerosis and Ankylosing Spondylitis but do not need medication, thankfully. Became very sick 2 years ago with gasto issues; 6 weeks constant diarrhoea and vomiting with repeat symptoms this April. Lost 20lbs, looked frail and sick and confined to bed. After getting better and having a massive sugar addiction since illness, feeling lethargic and fed up with my disordered eating, I am now 2 days on Carnivore diet. Not for weightloss but doing this to fix gastro problems and (hopefully) some MS symptoms too. Thank you for your advice, greatly appreciated. Will let you know how it goes...❤
That is a good story, thanks for sharing. Have you been successful so far? Did you have to start the carnivore diet again in the meantime? What has your path been since?
Poor advice from this video. Don't follow them. Read and listen to videos by doctors Caldwell Esselstyn, Dean Ornish, Kim Williams, Anthony Lim, William Li.
I went to lunch today and overheard another customer tell their server, “I’m 40 days sober today.” So I said congratulations! Then the server said that she meant 40 days without meat! I was tempted to say, well then you have my condolences 😮
It took me about 15 months of keto before my BP normalized. It was absolutely the last thing to get in line. I know 40 years of eating a crap SAD took a toll. People have to realize everything is not going to fix itself in a week. Stay the course!
so glad to hear this! I have been carnivore since 9/1/22 and have lost 60 pounds and feel so good! I still take lisinopril for bp and am hoping to get off it asap!!
Thank you for posting this. I've been on low carb for 18 months now and am still on a very low dose of BP drug because it has quite got down low enough. I am familiar with the fatigue that have too low blood pressure causes because it's happened to me twice. Some good news to impart is that my chin hairs (65 F) are getting finer which my low carb doc says is because I am now insulin sensitive!!!
@@jobrown8146 That is great, Jo!! Congratulations! Are there any other symptoms you have noticed that indicate you are now insulin sensitive? I (74 f) only have 3 "chin hairs" so far, lol, but they seem the same as ever, except that a year ago, there was only one! (My grandbabe keeps me aware of them🤣)
Thank You both. I have a family history of cardiovascular issues as well as diabetes that have haunted us as children an adults. Discovering this way of life and talking about the how we got here and how it's changing is really a blessing for All people. So grateful for your work!!!
I don’t need today’s universities, journals, medical industry, Big Food, Big Pharma or anyone else to tell me how to eat. My own body, my own research, my judicious skepticism, the example of the healthy generation that came before me, my blood glucose monitor and my common sense tell me everything I care to know.
You don't need universities? Medical industry? Without them there would be NOTHING to "research". All research comes from doctors, scientist, physicians,.... universities support making it public - libraries and online. Yes agree it is a very difficult situation.
@@dougroberts3643 Thank you. We’d better be our own advocates. No one else is looking out for us. Friends my own age are taking handfuls of pharmaceuticals for conditions that they could cure with a few lifestyle improvements. But they take the pills instead and the more they take, the sicker and more debilitated they get. Some even take medicines just to counteract the damage done to them by other of their medicines! How crazy is that? But they’re afraid and they trust their doctors. Very sad.
Dr. Berry has been cranking out the info!!! My deepest thanks to you and your wife and all the others who are trying to bring to the public the truth. Many blessings and prayers for those who suffer needlessly and who have died like my friend Bill, who died far earlier than he should've April 12, 23 because his doctors did not understand metabolic dysfunction.
I live across from an inner city elementary school where, about ten years ago, a six year old had a heart attack. If you could see what they eat for BL&D you would not be at all surprised that this happened. Interestingly, one of the teachers from the school asked me what I thought the kids should be eating. Lol. I told her, “SARDINES!!!!”
Dr. O is such a clear teacher. So thankful that he takes the time to explain the terms he is using, and helps to make everything so clear. Thank you so much for having him on!
You are both Heaven sent. Thank you for getting the word out there. I worked in healthcare and became very disallusioned. I thank God I found you. Thank you, Dr. Berry, for bringing on Dr. Ovadia
62 years old, retired, 5'9", 200 pounds, almost 5 weeks ketovore, BP 121/72, no medications. I am finding that I don't need the afternoon nap anymore. My goal is to reach 160 pounds or whatever my natural weight should be. I was 145 in high school.
5'9 and 171. no meds. BP 100/60 when i wake up. those last 5 pounds never want to leave! haha. on the belly, of course. but i'm a Paleo omnivore. maybe you'll have better luck!
Best wishes! I attained high school weight BECAUSE I was chasing a low insulin number. Once I conquered the high insulin, the weight came off naturally. Fatty meat, eggs, bacon and butter form the core of my diet. My only plants are olives, sauerkraut and sour pickles (I’m recovering from oxalate poisoning). Listen to your body!
When I was in school the teacher asked who ate bacon and eggs for breakfast? and all most all the kids raised their hands then she asked who ate oatmeal for breakfast? and a girl and I raised our hands. We ( the girl and I are both very short 4’11 she was about the same height.) All the other kids were taller. I’m beginning to think it wasn’t just coincidence. This was 55 years ago.
My father when a kid in the era of WW2 ate mostly oats, with milk. No much meat, veggies, etc. Sometimes he trade butter in the black market with his skills to repair broken radios! He was a kid and understood how radios worked. He grew quit big for its generation, but i guess...he would of been more tall, if he had access to meat, eggs, more meat. In Germany all kids where send at 1 point to farmers who had more food available and he stayed 1 year. The Führer obligated the farmers to take children in their homes to have food, because of the famine.
Thank you Dr Berry. I need a good caring doctor on my side here. I've been staying away from doctors for a long time. It is a breath of fresh air to finally listen to health professionals that actually care about the health of their patients instead of pushing pills that only make the symptoms go away. So, thank you again Dr., both of you! You have earned yourself another subscriber. :)
I cannot say thank you enough to both doctors for such informative, life-changing information. I am a nurse in New York. I will share this information with as many people as I can both patients and my family. So grateful to both of you❣️❣️❣️❣️Advocate 💯 ❣️
I have been on carnivore for a few weeks now. Everyone thinks I’m crazy. I have gone down from 175 lbs to 161lbs. I know this seems like a small difference but I have not been able to get below 168lbs for all of my 20s. I am turning 30 in a few weeks. I feel good, have almost no anxiety (I am on depression and anxiety meds). I just went to a dinner party and ate lots of carbs. My horrible heart but is back all of a sudden in full form. I have had heartburn since being a child but it went away on carnivore. I am going to keep going because I am getting results at last. If you haven’t tried this, do it, there is nothing left to lose.
How are you feeling? I have been on a health journey for 3 years trying to find the ways to heal our bodies with food and herbs. Went Keto and IF and started feeling fantastic. If I fall off the diet, I start feeling like poo. Found dr Peter Osbourne on you tube and learned all about what grains do to us. So interesting to listen to him. My body has healed of so much! I do ketovore, right now. Considering going full carnivore.
My dad always told me to, "follow the money." What wonderful advice, just as this is a wonderful video to help spread the TRUTH to the masses and empower people to make more informed, healthier choices. I'm blown away by the humility both of you have to admit when and if you were wrong, and to essentially correct the course and share it with others; you guys are an AMAZING GIFT to us all and I love your mission!!! 🙌God bless you both!!🙏
Thank you for this informative video on Repatha. My Doctor has been trying to get me to go on it and I refuse, I was on statins for yrs. I started keto and immediately stopped the stains after watching countless keto videos and couldn’t believe that my pain had subsided tremendously. I will never take any cholesterol reducing medication ever again. Dr. Ken Berry, Thank you for all the informative videos you and your colleagues share. 🙏🙏
Fabulous video...Thanks so much Dr. Berry and Dr Ovadia.....you both answered so many questions I've been having as I journey on changing my own health. Really wonderfully exciting to see changes in my body and getting off meds, taking control of my health and having my doctor work with ME about my health. Many thanks, many blessings, Clara
Can I comment on something I observed. Last summer I was admitted to hospital with pneumonia. My room had 6 beds. 3 of those beds had women suffering diabetes. In the morning they woke groggy and disoriented. With a diabetes nurse present they were given cereal with milk, cup of tea, glass of milk, a tub of fruit yoghurt, roll and butter, bottle fresh orange juice, an apple, orange and banana. Within 30 minutes they were all sleeping again. I’m sure BM through the roof. One lady woke with BM of 7. After breakfast it was 23. I took cup of tea, roll and butter and a bottle of water. At this rate the ladies would never get home. I was out in 3 days and made eggs and bacon when I got home.
I was admitted to the hospital and when my meal tray came, there was nothing on it I would eat. Ensure, toast with Country Crock, jello and orange juice. The scrambled egg product looked icky. I self-discharged because I knew I would not eat while there.
They do that a lot in the hospitals. Give diabetics carb loaded food. You have To be very careful when admitted to hospitals. Some high blood pressure medications will raise your blood sugar. These doctors either don't read or don't care . Be very, very careful with what these doctors prescribe for you. Read, research and retain information.
What perfect timing. Was diagnosed with early/Stage 1 congestive heart failure last week and, in determination to find a way to reverse it, a quick UA-cam search brought up Dr Eric Westman's video about reversing CHF with keto and how the heart thrives on ketones way more than glucose. Already getting some relief of the shortness of breath with the fluid coming off from reducing carbs by going carnivore. I also remembered you mentioning about the heart and ketones during various livestreams but I never paid attention since I always thought my heart was perfectly healthy. And now this video popping up today...woohoo! Thank you for everything you do and the info you continuously work to get out to the public, Dr Berry!
I am so glad that I found your channel Dr. Ken Berry! It sure is refreshing to see two medical doctors taking interest in the best health of others and themselves and being humble enough to say that you were treating your patients "in the wrong manner, because we did not know any better" due to the training and understanding you had in the past. It is a blessing too that Dr. Philip Ovadia (and I believe you might have done as well) willing to share his past health challenges, which is not commonly seen by other medical doctors. If anything, what comes to mind is other unhealthy doctors saying, "do as I say not as I do." I recall of a Cardiologist who was very obese himself telling his patients to lose weight, or a smoker pulmonologist who would tell his patients to quit smoking ... And now you are doing the right thing in your own lives and the lives of those you provide care for. Your patients are lucky to have you to guide them in the right path of health and healing. I am a US trained RN who has worked in the health care system for two decades. It took the diagnosis and consequent death of my aunt with stage 3 colon cancer in early 2017 to open my eyes to the mess our medical system is... All these years I have provided bedside nursing, I felt guilty of my role of being "pill pusher," to the patients who were acutely ill. My job was done the moment these patients were discharged home... We never had the time to truly make a difference in a patient's life to help empower them toward health and healing. The way our healthcare system is designed is to keep people "stable enough" to live long, but dependent on several medications keeping "big pharma and medication prescribers" rich in the process for a long long long time... My aunt did not have much time between her diagnosis and death. I wish that she lived in the US with us so that we could have done more of the interventions she wanted, but she was living in Africa at that time. I did a lot of research and found tons of information regarding other treatments of colon cancer other than radiation and chemo. She did the surgery to remove some parts of her colon, but was adamant about not wanting to do chemo and radiation. Because of that I looked for other things she could do and found a lot of things she could have done, but it was very difficult to send those things for her. I found a very strong community support too which I remain part of to this day, which was a blessing. I have been doing intermittent fasting (IF) since early 2016, which has helped me shade some of my excess weight and keep some it off (gained 15 lbs of the 35 I've lost over the last 3 years mostly due to not adhering to the IF like I did in the past). However, I have not figure out what food group is the best for me due to the continued GERD and other GI symptoms I continue to have. I also suffer from severe migraine headaches which affects the quality of my life. Though my migraine headaches and GERD have improved when compared to the past since I started IF and stopped some of the meds I was prescribed, I still have them both. I really don't know what types of food my body likes. Thankfully, I bumped on your video and some others about carnivore diet, which I am going to try. I've nothing to lose but ailments really. Thank you for all that you do, both of you. Last but not least, I want to ask you both @Drs. Ken Berry and @Philip Ovadia, what can we do collectively to change the medical system of the US? Do you think it is possible to transform the system to become health and healing oriented vice symptoms management? I recall an annual conference I attended organized by IHI (Institute of Health Improvement) I think in 2017 or 2018 where they said research to have shown that the US was on the top of the list in healthcare spending, but the second to the bottom last in outcomes among 18 or so developed countries from around the world. It was clear then that they knew our healthcare system needed some major transformation. COVID-19 made that clear too and there were quite a few media present medical doctors who vowed that they were going to make sure our healthcare system would undergo the transformation it needs to provide "truly patient-centered care for ALL." I thought that was possible then. But now I see business is back as usual... But seeing you two here made me a bit hopeful again and wondered if true healthcare transformation is possible in the US. That would mean the way medical doctors are trained or even our educational system in the lower grades needed to be transformed too, so that everyone understands the power of our diet has over our health and that food pyramid needs to be corrected... I apologize for my long post, but I hope that you get a chance to read it and maybe provide some feedback. Thank you again for all that you do doctors!!! May God multiply doctors like you across the state!!!!
Fantastic interview! Thank you so much! God Bless you both for trying to help all of us out here who do not trust doctors and medications and need to know how to heal ourselves. You are a light in a dark world!!!
Thank you for everything you do. I have friends telling me the Doctor has put them on this pill and that pill, I cringe but say nothing because they think I’m a crank because I don’t eat sugar ,bread extra. It can be hard sometimes but I get on line to get my reassurance from people like you. Thank you.🇬🇧👍
My cardiologist Also does Keto when I told him I was doing ketovore he was very impressed😊. He said keep going but I had to switch to carnivore due to oxalate dumping from my eyes. Ugh! It was annoying and at times painful( like sand being thrown in your eyes) I switched mid March of this year now the inflammation in my knee has subsided ( praise Be) through a dexa scan I had severe arthritis in behind my knee cap. Dr Berry nothing feels better than being healthy and pain free😊. I lost my Aorta from a superbug in Nov2012. Im 8 months in as of April 1st, I went from 285 to 195. Next goal is to get to 150. My ideal weight for me is 115 but for me 135. Through this wonderful proper human diet along with resistance training, walking, swimming. To just keep moving . All thanks to you and Dr Eric Westman and the guests on both of your podcasts
Wow, congratulations on all that weight loss and finding a keto cardiologist!! Really hard to find a keto savvy doc. I also was getting what I think was oxalate dumping in my eyes. In my case it was a sharp ice pick type stabbing feeling. Got them in my toes and fingers also. Been on ketovore for 6 months, keto before that a couple months, and all the stabs are gone. The only plants I've eaten for months now is avocado, romaine lettuce and onions. I have knee pain as well. Can't imagine how much worse it would be if still eating a bunch of carbs. Dr Berry and Neisha are my heros! I am so grateful....
mine actually started out like that, you get to the point of being terrified of opening your eyes forget about even rubbing them which made matters worse!
@@JohnQPublic345 That was the first thought that came to my mind, like you it would stop for awhile then it kept coming back. That’s when I decided to completely stop all veggies only then did it completely stop for me.
Now that I'm 74 and about 50 pounds overweight, I have reevaluated my diet and I have switched to Keto. I have lost 20 pounds in two months, which might not be as dramatic a weight loss as some but still encouraging! I encourage everyone who is concerned with their weight and health to consider going to Keto or Carnivore or a combination of the two. I can still eat most of the food that did before, but I have given up potatoes, bread, pasta, and fruit. And most of those food items have low-carb substitutions too! So, good luck and cheers! You don't have to eat just salad to lose weight! In fact, you don't have to eat salad at all!
Good luck on your journey🍀💎🌸🌟🦋 When I started to run on ketons, I felt true feeling of freedom; freedom from constantly carrying ‘healthy’ snacks with me, freedom from insulin drops, clammy palms, shaking, passing out. Nowadays, I eat carnivore, in 6 hours windows. Rest of day I drink water and fast. Once a year I do a nice 7 to 9 day water fast, to recalibrate. I feel healthier, fitter, mentally more resilient and looking towards best years of my life yet to come🌟 I started this journey in desperation in 2016 Best decisions ever💎 God bless🌸🌟💜🍀
Again, it's all in moderation. Simply being in a small 500 caloric deficit with adequate protein. Stop drinking soft drinks, white sugar & sugary cereals. Whole Grain Pasta doesn't spike insulin. Whole grain bread or Sourdough bread do no spike insulin either. Steel Cut Oatmeal without added sugars. There's a ton of fruits that don't spike insulin, google them. Balance is the key
Great interview - thanks so much for all of the great information that you're sharing! My husband and I, like you, thought oatmeal and bananas were a healthy breakfast. We've been Keto for over two months now and your channel keeps us going!
I am so disappointed in the Tufts University Nutrition stance. When I studied to advance my Nursing Degree, I relied on Tufts to be the authority on nutrition. I felt so secure in using their studies and research. It feels as though we have no true authority on these health/nutrition related information. Thank you for putting these messages out to those of us that seek to find the truth.
You would think that people would look at 'health'care and public 'health' 'professionals' to see that they are BIG billboards for being unhealthy. Who would willingly take their diet advice?
I fell similar just a couple of days ago when "updated" recommendations was announced in Sweden, and it was still just about the same...more fruit and vegetables, more whole grain, chose plant based and yada yada. The Swedish heart & lung association keeps it very simple and say to avoid fat and sugar. So parents with ambition to provide healthy food could follow their recommendation and still charge their two year old at breakfast with the amount of carbs a professional cyclist refuel with during a race, and that trough various oatproducts, things of real fruit without added sugar and a full fiber wholegrain sandwich with some diary free cheese.
In India, sometimes during the 1980s, perhaps around 1987/88 onwards, we started seeing a lot of advertisements skillfully promoted by medical practitioners regarding the benefits of different types of non-traditional cooking oils. These advertisements were additionally backed up with a similar message during visits to doctors. The consequence is that in the following decades cardiovascular diseases seems to have skyrocketed. Now, more people are progressively reverting to the traditional cooking oils like sesame oil, peanut oil, mustard oil, coconut oil etc. which our ancestors have consumed over a millennia, without much adverse health effects. Similarly, most advertisements asking us to change our food habitat with something "more healthy"...I always take these with a bit of salt, preferring to do my own research.
good to know if you cook with full fat pure ghee and keto so good and you can eat chicken or fish since I know in India that cows are sacred in the mainstream Hindu religion there. Can the religious Hindus eat eggs ? Must be tough to do keto diet there due to diet restrictions.

Ever think the pharmaceutical companies are working with the Fed to make sure people die earlier and earlier….thus protecting social support programs via attrition? I’m beginning to think so. Just saying. Thank you both for this honesty. I’m fifty, menopausal, and 100lbs overweight. Yesterday I decided to go carnivore. Everything you are saying makes absolute sense to me.
Of course!! @christyyork55 They don’t have the money to fund social security for all of us Baby Boomers. Have to kill us off. First effort: corona. Second: kill all the chickens and beef. Third: poison the water and air (smoke)
Thank you. I'm 70 Yrs old and been on keto about a year. I was on three blood pressure meds for years but now I'm off all meds My blood pressure is now 129/80 it was 160/90..
This is so maddening. Cardiologists is trying to force rapatha on me right now (along with eating margarine and cutting my red meat).🤦♀️🤦♀️ it is so sad you have to follow the money trail instead of being able to trust your doctor. I don’t want to have another MI but I don’t trust Dr advice to help me. I’m pretty strict carnivore. Can’t wait to hear what you say at KetoCon next week. See you there. Thank you both for being straight shooters! ❤💪🥩
I am 100% on your side! For years I’ve pondered on this subject and much to my surprise it was red meat 🥩 along with whole milk dairy 🥛 products and vegetables 🥕. I still have family members who keep telling me that red meat 🥩 is going to lead to clogged arteries, heart attack, and of course gout. It’s hard to believe that after 5 decades the AHA and ADA have never 👎 changed their minds. If red meat 🥩 doesn’t cause gout then I don’t know 🤷♀️ what does. So hard to find anything reputable that is unbiased.
My post stint surgery recovery team instructed me to consume butter rather than margarine! I have had an egg and a 1.5 oz portion sausage or ham every morning for the past 10 years. My total cholesterol is 110, HDL is 46 and my LDL is 51. Also have a slice of sharp cubes every morning. Cut out mayonnaise and replaced it with Sour cream… Life is good. Dietitians only seem to know what they have been taught rather than data!
Went a a whole food diet leaning toward carnivore. In less than 7 months I lost 35 lbs. and 4" off my waist. I also quit my statin. Since I quit the statin my immune system seems to be greatly improved. I feel great. Not so much as a sniffle. When I started the statin I usually got two bad colds a year. NO MORE! Also any problem with ED is gone! By the way I'm 74 years old. Thank you Ken and Dr. Ovadia.
Dr. Ovadia was right on the money. I was on Repatha and a combo statin, my cholesterol went from being over 500 total to 102 over the course of a couple of years. My LDL went from over 300 to 57. I was the compliant patient who took all of my scripts and who consistently showed NO coronary artery disease on cardiac cath and yet had a massive heart attack on 9/20/21. I also had terrible brain fog, memory loss, hormone imbalance, major leg crams and leg pain, overall terrible fatigue and just felt awful. I believed that dropping my cholesterol would prevent a heart attack and yet it didn't at all! I was on these meds from 2016 till early this year, when I decided to take my health back into MY hands because life was terrible. The side effects of these medications were awful. Never again.
Hi Rebecca. I have something called the MTHFR gene. It is a gene that can cause clotting. I found out I had it after getting some blood work done when I was having trouble getting pregnant. My OBGYN suggested I see a hematologistist-oncologist because he never heard of this gene. The bloid doctor told me both parents must have the gene for it to be passed on to their children. That's how it was passed on to me and probably my brother and twin sister. they still haven't been tested for it. From what I have read that if everyone was tested for this gene and knew they had it, there may be less people having heart attacks and strokes. Unfortunately, many doctors have not heard of this gene. it will probably take some of your own research, but it may be worth looking into and getting checked for it. I wish you well.
I would love to know what your hormonal imbalances are and I'm so grateful you're sharing your story. I am thinking of starting to come across. Maybe starting in a podcast where people can tell their stories because it seems to me. It's not getting out there period I love to hear how people are healing themselves and getting well without conventional doctors. And no one is opening up their eyes as quickly as we are. Period I have not changed my diet. I have PCOS which I hear is a diabetic disorder. It's a hormonal imbalance. How did you get yourself better? What kind of hormonal imbalance did you have by chance? Did you have any hair loss

No one ever "cured" forever. It is a patient "delayed". We all end up with the same outcome in the end. Honestly what I have found is that once patients get healthy and start playing with their kids or grandkids they get hurt and come see me more for injuries. Others then come in for stem cells and peptides to feel even better. Others want tummy tuck for the excessive lose skin, others want breast augmentation..... Customers / patients never lost. Treat them correctly and they want more and more services.
@@DrAJ_LatinAmerica yes...can be "cured" forever of type 2 diabetes, inflammation, among many others. The key is keeping this woe ...it's not a diet , it's a lifestyle. The rest of what you listed is mostly fluff and vanity procedures

I have very high LDL over 230 and this week I was told to take statins. It felt like I was pressured to take it even though I have no other risks for heart disease. My meat mostly diet helps me control my IBD to the point that I don't take any drugs anymore. Elevated blood pressure and tachycardia are gone as well.
My cardiologist wants to put me on statins because, for the first time in my life (keto for three months and feel terrific) my LDL is 123... but my HDL to LDL ratio is very good and my triglycerides levels are excellent!
Went on carnivore OMAD with IF and had triglycerides drop from over 500 to 145 and the only blood work out of range was LDL. But it was a good LDL, the fat fluffy kind. My doctor knew about all this a congratulated me on the quick turn around (2 months) and also 19 lbs lost. Did this 12 years ago and that doctor had no idea about it. He actually wanted follow up blood work an asked again how I achieved those numbers and weight lose. Glad I have a knowledgeable doctor now.
I was angry. My dad was hospitalized for low blood pressure & low heart rate. He was in his mid 80s. While he was in the hospital, the cardiologist told him he needed a pacemaker. I told my mom & dad that he should get another opinion. Another cardiologist in the same hospital said the same thing. No doctor will tell a patient something different. They are co-workers. I wanted the cause. To this day, no cardiologist has fixed my dad’s heart condition. I believe he has glucose problems.
I'm a Male age 74 and have been Keto for 3 years and taking statins for 12. I got off them after I started getting normal numbers but my cardiologist bitched at me so much that I started reordering the script every 90 days and just flushing them! Should I tell him the truth and let him worry about the good numbers, or try to find a Keto friendly heart doctor?
Tell him the truth. He needs to know his meds are not the reason you are doing so well. If he reacts badly, look for a new doc. Don't flush medicines because they contaminate the water supply! Research places to drop off unused medications. There are organizations that dispose of them safely with no harm to animals, humans, or the environment.
Much thaniks to both Docs! Started 2023 on keto (again), then switched to carnivore 4 weeks ago....No health problems/issues other than 30 lbs overweight ..... Dropped 10 lbs so far; workouts much easier and added weight/reps for good results at age 77 after a decade of little exercise (noticeable muscle gain....retired 25 yr fireman in best shape of my life in my 50s); much better energy level....Neuropathy in both hands returning to normal (completely in left hand and about 50% in right).... several other benefits, but not gonna spend time listing 'em.... Overall, carnivore easy to stick with, no problemo sticking to it.... Beer/wine not fun any longer, so just quit.....Don't miss 'em and wonder why I bothered to drink (3 day weekends) anyway)
Awesome interview! Thank you Doc Ken Berry! After having a rough go with Metformin, my HCP prescribed me Ozempic for T2D and I injected .5mg each week. My high deductible insurance plan did not cover the cost and I was able to get samples for about 6 months from my HCP then the free supply ran dry. For a few months I purchased Ozempic from an online parmacy in Cananda for arounf $350/month. I switched to another HCP that included Ozempic in a Govt subsidized 340B plan and was able to get it for $17/month...however withing months Ozempic became the latest weight loss fad and my local pharmacy was having issues with getting it for diabetics. Canadian prices increased to $450. Starting in September getting my prescription filled was hit and miss. Although the Ozempic did helped with lowering my BG to 140s and A1c from 8.5 to 7.5, I did not lose any weight eating still eating the SAD. It wasnt until I switched to a Ketogenic diet with very low carbs (about a year ago) that I was able to lose over 75 pounds and lower my A1c to 5.6. I stopped my last Ozempic injections four months ago in January about a year after starting the injections. I think I could have stopped Ozempic six months sooner if I had been a bit more dilligent with BG monitoring. I did experience some intestinal/bowel issues while on Ozempic but seemed to tolerate it OK however I definitely feel much better being off the Ozempic juice and controlling my diabetes with a PHD diet and 16/8 IF! Today my BG was 93 before my first meal of the day and was 95 about an hour after.
In our community our disabled and elderly are fed horrible unfit processed foods. The food like vegetables are often over cooked soggy and fruit with tons of sugar for dessert. Killing them softly in these Meals on Wheels programs unfortunately.
I saw my mother die of diabetes/complications in a nursing home years ago. Didn't know anything about proper human diet then. They fed her just as you say. It is horror!
This is why the official Dietary Guidelines are so dangerous. They have to be followed anywhere that gets federal funding. Schools, nursing homes, the military, prisons, hospitals, etc. It's a sick, twisted, corrupt cycle of abuse against the population at large.
And same for what our students are fed in the schools. Every day, breakfast is skim or 2% milk, juice, and cereal or pastries. Lunch is fruit, milk, potatoes or corn muffins, low fat cheese, and carb-encased proteins. Everything has sugar, chemicals, and seed oils. I hare HATE to have to serve it to them. And some of my students are already overweight or even obese, at 4 years old!!!
Wonderful info! I have both doctors’ books and they’re great. But damn, I’m a member and wish I’d watched this live but missed it (my fault). I have some questions that I’ll have to save for next time. Thank you to you both of you for thinking/researching out of the box.

Carnivore for 30 days. Blood pressure 117 over 73 can I quit my BP meds which is low dose. Previously 145/85
AMEN to that!
Keep crushing man!

What is POTS?

Are there any other symptoms you have noticed that indicate you are now insulin sensitive? I (74 f) only have 3 "chin hairs" so far, lol, but they seem the same as ever, except that a year ago, there was only one! (My grandbabe keeps me aware of them🤣)
Dr. Berry is awesome! He just tells it like it is, no BS! You're both saving lives out here, thanks!
Amen..... you're preaching the truth. Love it
You don't need universities? Medical industry? Without them there would be NOTHING to "research". All research comes from doctors, scientist, physicians,.... universities support making it public - libraries and online. Yes agree it is a very difficult situation.
"Amen Mrs. Taylor"!!!😊
Very sad.
Love that attitude 💪💯
Dr. Berry has been cranking out the info!!! My deepest thanks to you and your wife and all the others who are trying to bring to the public the truth. Many blessings and prayers for those who suffer needlessly and who have died like my friend Bill, who died far earlier than he should've April 12, 23 because his doctors did not understand metabolic dysfunction.
u all know THE TRUTH , however most of people WILL IGNORE it as long as they can
Is he a general practitioner? Berry?
Excellent, no meds here as well!
5'9 and 171. no meds. BP 100/60 when i wake up. those last 5 pounds never want to leave! haha. on the belly, of course. but i'm a Paleo omnivore. maybe you'll have better luck!
Keep up the fight. Good luck@
Similar metrics here but my BP dropped after 2 weeks carnivore. Stay the course!
Are your and your parents short too?
We didn't get eggs and bacon ..lm 5'8

It is Dr Ken's passion that gets me to listen.

Thank you for this informative video on Repatha. My Doctor has been trying to get me to go on it and I refuse, I was on statins for yrs.
BM? Body Mass??
@@tanyawieczorek6603 blood sugar
You can do it, Sofia. Dr. Berry’s videos are excellent for getting all the basics of fixing the underlying causes for ill health.
CHF is caused by eating sugar and having elevated insulin.
If you fix the root cause you can reverse CHF...
Dr Westman is excellent! Definitely watch his videos.
I'm glad you didn't just accept the diagnosis and give up. I think you will be a success story!
Great timing indeed!! All the best to you sophie 🤗
Very confident Doc. He has very clear answers for all questions asked. Loved the interview.
Ugh!

I encourage everyone who is concerned with their weight and health to consider going to Keto or Carnivore or a combination of the two.
20lbs is significant for two months! That’s 2.5 lbs / week, which is a safe amount to lose; good pace

And your body will simply process "a bit of salt," it's not a problem,
Are u saying olive oil isn't good ?
good to know if you cook with full fat pure ghee and keto so good and you can eat chicken or fish since I know in India that cows are sacred in the mainstream Hindu religion there. Can the religious Hindus eat eggs ? Must be tough to do keto diet there due to diet restrictions.

A patient cured is a lost customer.

The more healthy people, the more customer / patients. Always need doctors, lawyers, police, military, engineering, farmers, ranchers and politicians.... : )
Thank you again for the wonderful info. I've printed info for my medical practitioner and she's been very receptive.
Thank God for Dr.'s coming out and sharing the truth with us. Don't be afraid to disagree with your Dr. and get second opinions.
Just say No....
They have to prescribe them so they don’t get in trouble but you don’t have to take them!
230 isn’t that high.
I know people who eat carnivore who have 600-800 levels
Just don't take them...
My cardiologist wants to put me on statins because, for the first time in my life (keto for three months and feel terrific) my LDL is 123... but my HDL to LDL ratio is very good and my triglycerides levels are excellent!
Statins ruined my dads muscles. He has had horrible muscle pain since day one and he still has it even after being taken off of it. NEVER take them!
They cause my husband to be in a lot of pain, also.
I had such a terrible pain in the middle of my chest. Having that happen twice in a matter of weeks made me get off them. That was eight years ago.
@@pattiday431 Do you still have pain?
Ever never!!!!
Is Your dad okay now ?
Any physician backed by the AMA is immediately discredited by me as that institution is beyond corrupted.
TUFTS gave us you Dr Ovadia as well as my own dear daughter - a great editor, actor, and narrator of novels. So all is not lost.
Thank you Dr Berry and Dr Ovadia👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻💕
Went on carnivore OMAD with IF and had triglycerides drop from over 500 to 145 and the only blood work out of range was LDL. But it was a good LDL, the fat fluffy kind. My doctor knew about all this a congratulated me on the quick turn around (2 months) and also 19 lbs lost. Did this 12 years ago and that doctor had no idea about it. He actually wanted follow up blood work an asked again how I achieved those numbers and weight lose. Glad I have a knowledgeable doctor now.
Great interview and thank for your work Dr Berry. Can you recommend an MD in New York City ? Hard to find someone as knowledgeable as you!
Are you male?
I was angry. My dad was hospitalized for low blood pressure & low heart rate. He was in his mid 80s. While he was in the hospital, the cardiologist told him he needed a pacemaker. I told my mom & dad that he should get another opinion. Another cardiologist in the same hospital said the same thing. No doctor will tell a patient something different. They are co-workers. I wanted the cause. To this day, no cardiologist has fixed my dad’s heart condition. I believe he has glucose problems.
They all followed the $$$$ instead of what was best for his health. Sad
Dr Gundry advocates drinking a shot of organic cold pressed extra virgin olive oil high in polyphenols.
Your opinions please. Thank you doctors.
What was he's BP?
@@jeffsc3573My opinion which I’m sure doesn’t recount for much, but I can not stand that man!!

Congratulations! How thrilling to get cleaner, healthier, and stronger as you get older!
Hello why did you switch? Also do you do any veggies?
I cured my Type II Diabetes and my cholesterol and blood work was stellar when I adopted this diet.
If I had never eaten those types of cereal when I was young in the 60s, I would still have teeth.
Oh my goodness....same here. Work in a nursing home and our dietician is highly ignorant of PhD. 😢
The outstanding job there, Docs! Keep up the fantastic work; I look forward to seeing and hearing more!! Thanks in advance / Joe

great video🙌😊 Thank you for all your hard work.
Appreciate you, Dr. Berry.
Great, my BP is mostly 120/70. Thanks for the tips. An educated consumer is the best customer.
