    I really resonate with this video, and Charlotte is very inspiring. However, she states she’s never been sick since having emetephobia, however i have ! For example, I had gastritis a month ago and now i’m 100x worse as I have evidence to back up me being sick. I have been sick more since having emetephobia than ever (i’ve only had it for 2 years) so I’m in the most miserable part of my life.

      She has been sick, but it no longer bothers her. Gastritis made you vomit, not vomit. If you have emetophobia it always feels like it gets worse (& more so after gastritis). Do seek therapy to help you overcome this ❤️ Charlotte is an inspiration, and she’s one of many people we’ve treated & helped overcome a vomit phobia, so don’t give up hope that you too can get better, as you absolutely can. If you’re in England, email events@speakman.tv for details about our in person emetophobia masterclass 🥰

    This was very helpful and very insightful, thank you so much. I am very excited for the Emetophobia masterclass and to change my life, it has consumed me for too long and stopped me from doing so many things, I cannot get that time back but I can change how the future looks 😊❤

    Totally brilliantly put together podcast. As an emetophobia sufferer since I can remember (I am 67), it has reassured me that there is hope and I shall be emailing for more information about the special workshop addressing this dreadful phobia. I thought Charlotte's testimony is living proof that we all have the capability of dealing with our fears and live life to the full. Thank you Speakmans xx

      You’re most welcome & thank you not only for your kind words, but also for sharing that this episode has given hope, and the realisation that emetophobia does not have to be a lifelong issue. We very much hope to meet you in person one day at our masterclass, and are sending you lots of love from us all 🥰 xx

    Well done Charlotte for overcoming your phobia. Great advice from you all again. I’ve never had emetophobia but I am slightly fearful of being sick but not to the point where it ruins my life. Hearing you speak about it on your workshops and books and on your podcast helps me view differently that its lifesaving and how often we aren’t sick. So thank you once again for helping me think differently 🤗🤗xx

    My story is almost identical. My dad always panicked when me and my brothers were sick. 8 years with emetophobia now and I’m struggling to leave my house at all.

      So sorry to hear this. This is such a common installation of emetophobia, as you’ve been taught as a child (when still learning about the world) that sick is something to fear. Do take a look at our TikTok channel for lots of videos with tips to help this, as well as our book Conquering Anxiety which goes through our whole process & has a specific chapter just on Emetophobia. We also have an Emetophobia masterclass in November, and you can email events@speakman.tv for details of this. Please be assured you absolutely can get through this just like Charlotte did. Thinking of you ❤️

    Hi!Can emetophobia be genetics?cause my dad had it

    • @HandbookToHappinessPod
      @HandbookToHappinessPod  3 місяці тому

      No but it can be copied from a parent. So if your dad had it then he will have taught you as a young child that vomit is something to fear ❤️

      @@HandbookToHappinessPod how can i start to heal IT?

    • @HandbookToHappinessPod

      @@OanaPaun-vn3fvPlease watch this episode again as this does give lots of tips. We also have lots of films here & on TikTok with tips to help & a specific emetophobia masterclass later this year. If you’d like to attend, for details please email events@speakman.tv Now you’ve acknowledged the origin of your fear (your dad) you can use a daily affirmation too such as “this fear does not belong to me” or “dad caused my fear not vomit”. Obviously just to add your dad didn’t want you to have this fear intentionally & likely so wishes he didn’t, so you didn’t either. Perhaps you can work together to overcome this fear xxx
