    I learned real quick when buying my new unit. If you're willing to pay $1,000 dollars for this drone package, you should be willing to pay the extra $200 dollars. You get the 2 extra batteries and the external charge and this case as a bonus. It's totally worth the extra $200 bucks. I don't know anyone that wants just 1 freaking battery for their drone.

      For almost any camera these days, three batteries is a must. DJI's combo kits are the best in the game!

    When learning manual on this, with the stick controller, keep a finger on the switch that puts up back into sport or normal mode. That way, should you loose it, hit the switch and recover.

    David been watching your entertaining videos for a long time now. We both laughed when you were about to fly the Avata 2 for the first time and had the quick start guide but said you’d check it as you got started. So typical of men - they just can’t wait to get started whereas women usually study the guide before! Carry on with the great videos, we love them. Selina & Tim, UK (subs)

    man I've been dying to get an avata - Iove your perspective from someone who flies GPS drones and how quickly you picked up the Avata. I'm struggling in the simulator right now. I really wanted to learn on the regular controller, but I'm thinking the motion controller might be the best way to learn FPV for me. Great video!

    • @DavidManningvlog
      @DavidManningvlog  7 місяців тому +1

      The motion controller was shockingly easy! I was sort of bummed that I didn't get the controller, but then I started flying and realized why. This thing is the beginner's cheat guide. Again though, to get fully into it and improve, I'll need to get a controller at some point!

    Your excitement seems genuine and in no time, I'm sold. 😉 I've owned several drones and one being a DJI that I returned to Target because it didn't deliver the fun I'd hoped for.
    The Avata I've watched for a while and now that the V2 is released, I'm gonna have to pull the trigger (so to speak) and get right back into the hobby.
    Thanks for your review and enjoyed every moment. /🍻

    Great Video !! I really appreciate your comment about 60 to 70 % of FVP results with the motion control and getting the 30% remaining will take much longer time with the controller.
    I guess it will take about 10 hours in simulator + 10 hours in real FPV with controller. That´s a no brainer for a beginner and I did not hear anywhere else in youtube.
    Only proble you do not remember you mentionned is that is not cheap. The combo you tested is $ 1,200. A lot for a beginner...

    • @DavidManningvlog
      @DavidManningvlog  7 місяців тому

      Totally agree that $1,200 is a lot for a beginner, but you definitely get what you pay for with this system. I've tried a couple other beginner style FPV drones and crashed and burned pretty quickly!

    • @canyonblue737-8
      @canyonblue737-8 7 місяців тому +1

      Two different drones with different purposes. The Mini 4 Pro is an amazing CAMERA drone. It’s primary purpose to take cinematic video of the environment it is flying it… but it to record your environment / travels etc. The Avata 2 is a drone that is all about the experience of flying… the Googles and dynamics of an FPV put you “in” the drone and you get the enjoyment of feeling like you are flying… the video is bonus.

    Really good review also I like your comments regarding the benefit of using the motion controller to be able to enjoy flying at quite an advanced level quickly. I have the original DJI FPV drone with both the motion controller and the twin stick controller, I mainly fly with the stick controller but not in manual mode since sport mode on this unit gives a max speed of around 70mph, I have tried manual mode but the gains in my view are not worth smashing the drone however one safety feature this drone has is that even in manual mode you can press the pause button if you get into trouble and the drone will just stop and hover, can the Avata 2 do this?

    To be fair, it DOESN'T "come with everything you need. If you want to fly full on manual, you will want the FPV Controller 3. Experienced drone pilots obviously don't buy this, but anyone demonstrating it uses the 2 stick controller. It's an extra $200, but I just went ahead an got it since the motion controller is more gimmicky - It's fun, and easy. but only gets you so far. I want to not depend on it, but just consider it a fun secondary control.

    Dude. a) You did pretty well. b) When people told you "find an open area" -pretty sure they did NOT mean a small park with ROCKS, TREES, a CREEK, MORE ROCKS, WATER, TREES, and MORE ROCKS. Fortunately this was not your first, very first FIRST flight, or I am pretty sure we would have gotten some nice submerged, UNDERWATER shots from the Avata 2. OH.. so I paused to type the preceding. Now, I un-pause, and you're at the ocean? Where, next, Mid town Manhattan? Hey, more power to yah, but if you didn't get care refresh, well. That would be on you. 🤣😅😂

    The drone is incredible but the image quality is so ass.
    I hate that the solution is adding weight by strapping a GoPro to these things.

      In DLog-M, it's pretty damn good! I think it beats a GoPro strapped to the top. All of this footage was in Standard mode

    It’s a great drone, but I sold all of my drones, thanks to Remote ID and possible ban of DJI in USA! Thank you government for ending my hobby!

      I'm very interested to see the future of drones in this country. I remember the Phantom good ole wild west days!

      You'll still be able to fly them, just won't be able to import them anymore. Buy them while you can.

      @@seanmerritt1336 Bill says they will get grounded, not able to fly at all, so your $1k drone will become a paper weight.
