You can double press the scroll wheel on the side of the motion controller to activate pass through picture in picture as well, much easier and 100% more consistent than tapping the side of the goggles.
Another tip: You can watch the last 30 seconds of the live feed again in the goggles if, for example, you have lost the drone. This even works without an SD card inserted

I finally have mine, after ordering it within 10 minutes if it going online waiting till Monday for it not to get delivered, then spending a couple of hours on the phone between DHL and DJI finding where my Avata 2 was, hopefully the weather won’t be to bad this weekend and can go for a fly

I really need this drone in my life. Was just about to finally upgrade my Mavic Mini to the Mini 4 but the Avata 2 looks much more fun for roughly the same price and does something completely different to the Mini.

Hello, I have a simple question, I have a DJI Mini 4 Pro drone, connected to a pair of DJI Goggles and controlled by DJI motion 2, can it be controlled instead of DJI motion with a DJI Fpv 2 controller?
You can do it by turning on the head tracking feature on the googles but its a bit tricky. The best way is to use a fpv rc3 controller or RC2 controller if you want to do an orbit to any subject.

Excellent video, thank you very much. But here's something that irks me with DJI. I ordered my new A2 five days ago in preparation for a trip I'm going on. DJI touts "expedited shipping". Just curious...is that before or after it arrives from China? I'm still waiting for "shipped", and it doesn't look like that's gonna happen for a few more day. So that expedited shipping stuff is BS. This is my 5th DJI drone and this is the first time they've pulled this. Apparently selling something that is not immediately available here in the US. Not cool.
Hey Brother. When flying my Avata two it isn't stable it leans to the left or to the right and I have to manually stable it. Even with Horizon lock it still flies with a tilt that I have to constantly correct. Is this normal?

Tip: If you missed this, when using the Motion Controller in the AR (mouse pointer) view all the options seem like they are NOT there. For example, the setting for lost signal (Hover, Land, or Return) is off screen at the bottom. To get there use the joystick on the Motion Controller while you are pointing in the list. Same with Format the SD card setting.

@@thesilk1954 It will lean to maintain position if there is a wind. What do mean (or how do you correct it)? Are you flying with the motion controller (joystick looking device) or did you purchase the Remote Controller 3?
@@MrTh3B0b Im in Manual Mode With the Remote 3 Manual Controller. It seems like mine Tilts to the left a lot or to the right its very difficult to fly straight even in Normal or Sports Mode. I just paid a DJI consultant and rented out a football field to test it out. It's very difficult to get a level horizon even on Horizon lock.

Havent tried the 3d mode yet, but the 2d pass through is kinda weird to use to try and do stuff like turn on the camera. Totally forgot about the return to home when low batttery and because i usually fly with the manual controller when it started doing it under trees when I was having a go with the new motion controller I didn't know what to do to cancel it. It went into the trees, wedged in between two branches and went flat out until i shook it down lol

Any truth to the rumors that an avata 3 may be coming in 2025? This looks awesome but some upgrades in the way of obstacle avoidance or other tracking features would be welcomed. Especially as I haven’t tried an FPV drone yet. Anyone know?

Trust me...'Real View' doesn't look nearly as good as he shows it here. He obviously used the drones camera video recording and overlaid it in post. It looks nothing like his and the FOV is very narrow.
The world view feature is really cool, but they put those goggle lenses a bit close together. I'd like to see those cameras spread out to human eye average. Or just go all out and put them on the edges and make them spherical so we can have ultimate parallax super chameleon eyeball powers.
It's actually only using one camera if I'm not mistaken! When you put your hand on the left camera, or right I forget what side but one of the cameras seems to be off !
In 2D mode yeah, but in 3D mode both cameras are used. If you close your right eye and cover the left camera you can see it, and if you close your left eye and cover the right camera you can see it.
Just a suggestion, don't have the music playing in the background, it sounds like weird background noise on while trying to listen to you. Maybe it was just my ADD that kicked in hard. Great video and informative content regardless!

Another thing I didn't know before buying Avata 2: DJI do not support simulator anymore, so there is no way to learn mastering 'banana' controller in safe way...And unfortunately in my location FPV 3 controllers are not available right now :(
I really was hoping for a better FOV with the goggles 3. "Real view" does feel weird because of it and you would be way more immersed with a better FOV :/
ND filters and PIP - I don't understand why you find these features so useful. Why do I want to put a filter over the camera? Isn't that like putting on sunglasses and therefore making what the done sees duller? And PIP, I tried it but found it useless. I get the value of real view to occasionally see through the goggles as if not wearing them, but generally, I want to see what the drone sees, so keeping PIP active for a long time seems like a waste.

Good info. Order Avata 2. Does pip record too I guess yes. I didn't order the filter pretty pricey might order them now. I like defog feature nice.
You can access the defog from pressing down with the goggles joystick to bring up the top menu. Then press defog.

Why not tie a small string around the filter and the shield ??to prevent the filter from going missing
Can you only fly fast in manual mode? Mine only goes about 20mph in normal mode.
on the shorcut menu, there is no option easy acro, how can i fix it ?
Can you shoot raw on mini 4 pro if you fly with a motion controller? I see that goggles do not give such an option and even jpeg are very small
You can't chage all the settings with the googles, u need to do it on the RC2 or phone.

I'm in the UK and its really strange the RTH option only allows you to set the height, and no options to Hover In Place or Land 😢😢😢

3D mode definitely makes it easier. You can sense the distance to things much easier! Was your Avata 2 unharmed when you got it down?

I haven’t heard anything about an Avata 3! If it does come out this year, my guess would be sometime toward the end.
