Freaking love this song- Jimmy's voice and Joe's guitar - simply the best blues ever. Another collab I know you'd love is Jimmy and John Farnham singing "When Something's Wrong With My Baby" Love your reactions.
I second that ...such a power duo. When they were both a lot younger. Totally amazing vocals ...Jimmys gravel and John's power belting the high range .
Jimmy is a Australian legend and rock royalty. The other one you gotta check out is the voice from down under John Farnham, he actually does a duet with jimmy Barnes “when something is wrong with my baby”
Jimmy is a living Legend in Australia. And a Rock and Soul God. I'll stick around to hear more if you play more of him He has just released a couple of new (old) songs. Soothe Me with Sam Moore and Cry to Me with Josh Tesky. I would love to see what you think of them. Or check out some of Jimmys early days with Cold Chisel.
Bro's, thanks for the introduction to Jimmy! What a voice!! Scottish born, moved to Australia at age 5. He was with the group Cold Chisel, who were a very successful down under. He's 66 now.
Hey Guys, Jimmy is a living legend from down under, here in Australia. One of the most powerful rock and soul voices in history. This was written by keyboardist Don Walker from Jimmy's original band Cold Chisel. This is from his 2014 album "30:30 Hindsight" it was originally recorded by Jimmy on his 1993 release "Heat". This version also features another Aussie singing legend Tina Arena and his daughter Mahalia on backing vocals with his son Jackie on drums. Check out this clip from 12 years earlier, "When something is wrong with my baby" a phenomenal duet with our other living legend, John Farnham (who will also blow your mind) with Jimmy's brother in law Mark Lizzote "Diesel" chiming in on blues guitar and supporting vocals, it is stunning! ua-cam.com/video/ihsfx1LuoKc/v-deo.html Cheers ps. oops, forgot, apologies Joe, Mr Bonamassa? What can you say? Blues guitar Perfection!
Great song BUT I reckon that best version is live and from Hey Hey It's Saturday - it really shows off how they all love working together and do it well and effortlessly! ua-cam.com/video/9H0aHyjzWsQ/v-deo.html
This was great! Please check out Joe Bonamassa with Beth Hart performing "I'd Rather Go Blind" live in Holland. An amazing cover of a song made famous by Etta James.
Outstanding... so glad you discovered these two icons of the blues. Highly suggest you look into Joe Bonamassa doing "Angel of Mercy" live at the Greek Theater, "Mountain Time" live at the Royal Albert Hall and he and Jimmy Barnes doing "Lazy" (a tribute to Deep Purple. )... Jimmy goes back decades. He has so many great hits. Try Jimmy with Tina Turner doing "Simply the Best"
Legend isn’t a word used lightly by us Aussies and look how many people use it in these comments - because it’s a fact, Jimmy Barnes is a living legend. You should check out some of his earlier stuff for example “Wild Thing” which he did with his band Cold Chisel, “Bow River”, or Working class man.
Jimmy Barnes is amazing...have been listening to his music since the 1970s. Joe Bonamassa is one of the best guitarists around. Check him out with Beth Hart--I'd Rather Go Blind and I'll Take Care of You.
Great reaction to a great song…if you really wanna be blown away, check out these two covering Deep Purple’s “Lazy” (strap yourself in)…another great one is Joe and Beth Hart live in Amsterdam performing the Etta James classic “I’d Rather Go Blind - one of the best live performances you’ll ever see…😎
Really pretty song. It's so technical and polished, I almost wish it had more of an improvisational feeling that usually goes hand in hand with the blues. Nice song for chilling. Thanks guys!
Gosh you guys..... I suggested these two a year ago when you did Deep Purples lazy..... They did a remake a few masters joined in....... ohhh just wait it's a masterpiece........ Yes Jimmy that voice, guitar God Joe make that guitar sing.. Joe played with BB king at 12.......... Cheers
Yeah well said; I think it might be the missing link for someone who is not first language English. I hope they have since listened to it again with that understanding
Please react to more U2. 1) Pride In the Name of Love 2) Running to Stand Still 3) Where the Streets Have No Name 4) All I Want Is You 5) I Still Haven't Found What I'm looking For 6) Bad (Live Aid 1985) 7) Sunday Bloody Sunday 8) New Years Day
Can't believe you guys have reacted to our Australian legend, Jimmy Barnes! Scottish born Jimmy, has been in the music industry since he was a teenager. He began in a pub Rock group, Cold Chisel. Hugely successful! Then a brilliant solo career. He has worked with so many legends all over the world! Amazing raw vocals.
Thank you so much for this Joe Bonamassa grew up in my hometown.....seen him too many times to recall now as a 58 year old... probably one of the best blues guitarist of mt time, thanks again guys.. forgot how much I loved his playing..epic, peace.
Play those Aussie kings... im seeing Barnesy on July 2nd at Brisbane his Soul Deep Tour and his 12 piece band... taking my son to his first concert at 28yrs old! Going to be amazing!
Recently (very) Jimmy put out "Soothe Me" with Sam Moore, from Sam and Dave, back in the day. Also check another with Joe Bonamassa child prodigy +, called "Lazy."
Jimmy Barnes is an aussie treasure and Bonamassa and Goldtop are american treasures. Put them all together and thats what you'll get - another masterpiece.
Mike and The Mechanics, and their song, In The Living Years. The official video...please, guys... Anyone reading this and agreeing that they should react to this great song, please give it a thumbs up… don’t know if they’ll notice how many thumbs up the request has, but maybe then they will agree to react to it. Everyone on the planet needs to listen to this song because it pertains to all of us. Not sure that they even bother reading comments here. I think only their Patron page gets the attention. 😫
Terrific review. I discovered Joe only via Jimmy. Joe is brilliant and I’m hooked. Our Jimmy has been singing here in Australia since he was about 18, turned 66 last week and touring. Jimmy’s son was on drums Jimmy’s whole family sing and or play musical instruments, even his grandchildren have started. Unbelievably talented family we are so lucky to have here in Aus. His daughter Mahalia Barnes sings with Joe too, she has ‘soul’ music oozing through her veins.
I'm going to have to agree with the others; Jimmy and Joe doing Deep Purple "Lazy" is a must hear. You have just scratched the surface with these two amazing artists !!! ✌💖🌻🐝😷🎨🎶
Hey my brothers always good to see you you're the best. When you get the opportunity please react to Joe Bonamassa and Beth hart. I'll take care of you. And I'd rather go blind. You won't be disappointed!
Love it when people first hear Jimmy's voice. Jimmy was 58 year's old in this performance. He has just turned 66 a week or two ago and has released two new song's Soothe Me with Sam Moore and Do you love me with Josh Teskey check them out.
Check out Jimmy with his band Cold Cisel performing Wild Thing live at the Last Stand. It goes for over 8 minutes but is mind blowing. ua-cam.com/video/8Z6RjUi3rmE/v-deo.html
I think it was Patrick that made the comment (and I apologize if I’m wrong if it wasn’t him ) that it’s pretty unusual to be “ stone cold in love.” The way you can be stone cold in love with someone is by putting their needs in front of your needs. It works even better if the other person does the same thing back to you. I saw Joe in Atlantic City in March and he absolutely killed it. Check him out with Beth Hart.
You can't miss with Jimmy - from his youth as a rocker with band 'Cold Chisel' to a solo career right up to today - still dropping music even over the last few weeks and still performing. My favorite artist from my youth to now. I am 61
You have found one of the best guitar players on the planet in Joe Bonamassa. You really need to check out Beth Hart and Joe Bonamassa doing I'd Rather Go Blind. Be sure to get the Live From Amsterdam version. I think that this song has one of the best guitar solos I have ever heard.
Me being an Aussie, I’d suggest you react to Cold Chisel, start with The East Album. Jimmy was the lead singer, the band is as good as a lot of bands, no matter where they are from.
@BroAction Surprised you haven't reacted to another Stevie Ray Vaughan performance in over a year, considering how much you liked his work. So much good work out there. Sound check in a pimp coat: ua-cam.com/video/grBmQwLSlDw/v-deo.html Lenny, a song he wrote for his wife: ua-cam.com/video/i5sqJNFFwqc/v-deo.html LIfe Without You, a song he wrote for his friend & guitar tech Charley Wirz upon his passing: ua-cam.com/video/DQ4REYdCkTw/v-deo.html A jam session with his mentor & main influence: Albert King; recorded just as SRV was breaking through: ua-cam.com/video/4-apz26BfHY/v-deo.html HIs amazing cover of Hendrix' Little Wing: ua-cam.com/video/i6G53BMgugo/v-deo.html As much as you liked his music, I'm curious why.
Aphrodite's Child - The Four Horsemen next please one of the prog pioneers with the great Vangelis Papathanassiou(Blade Runner,Chariots of Fire),the beautiful voice of Demis Roussos and the fantastic Drums-Guitar from Loukas Sideras, and Silver Koulouris
These Boomers are so old its like Dance of the Vampires. But they know what they're doing. It amazes how Foreigners capture the feel of the American south so perfectly. I really think its because British Isles people invented this kind of music and that's why.
Jimmy a living legend! Joe has 50 or so albums. 27 #1 albums. He has a huge solo career. He will knock your socks off. A younger crazy song from 2006 Rockpalast Blues Deluxe. JB sings oh does he sing too. Thank you for the reaction. 🦁☮️
He is brilliant, you should listen/React to him and John Farnham singing "When Sonething is Wrong with my Baby", that will blow both your minds off. Brilliant and heartfelt reaction Boys.
_NOW_ you need to do "Stone Cold CRAZY" by Queen. I also would like to suggest 2 other songs I _KNOW_ you'll love: "Who's That Lady" by The Isley Brothers and "House of Broken Love" by Great White. _BOTH_ have great guitar.🎸
“Stone cold in love” - not ‘stone cold sober’ as the saying goes - because in this storyline, NO WAY is he ‘stone cold sober’ after a night of boozing and playing pool with the boys. So he comes home drunk as a skunk, sees his peacefully sleeping wife and it hits him just how much he loves her, how much he owes to her. Genius songwriting by Don Walker, Jimmy’s band mate from Cold Chisel - written for Jimmy. Catch up with Jimmy singing with Cold Chisel ‘Flame Trees’, ‘Choir Girl’ etc….
Hmmm. I see it a bit differently. He has been out drinking with the mates but instead of hanging around, he comes home after "just a few" and basically sober, to find her sleeping ... his love for her trumps his night with the boys. As a side bar, Barnes had his issues with the drink, and his wife Jane is credited with keeping him alive. He clearly adores her ... so I think the passion in his voice is a reflection of that. Totally agree with the genius of Don Walker, my favourite Chisel song is Flame Trees, so evocative of his (and my father's) childhood town, Grafton.
I have had the great experience of seeing Jimmy Barnes a few times live on stage, over a period of several years. He gives 100% with every performance and puts on one hell of a show. He is about to tour Australia again soon and I’ll be there once again.
Please react to Jimmy Barnes with his old group, Cold Chisel, You've got nothing I want Choir Girl Jimmy Barnes solo, Working class man Jimmy Barnes and John Farnham (another Aussie legend), When something is wrong with my baby. Just for starters.
YOOOO! Please! You guys gotta check out Home Free!! They're an amazing all vocal band and you'll be blown away with their work! Their cover of Folsom Prison Blues is a great place to start down the rabbit hole!

Hello Georgia from Australia ...you need to enter the time warp and go back to all talent way back then....so much available.
He is brilliant, you should listen/React to him and John Farnham singing "When Sonething is Wrong with my Baby", that will blow both your minds off. Brilliant and heartfelt reaction Boys.
Jimmy Barnes is Australia in a band called Cold Chisel is like saying Rolling Stones here. His daughter is a back up singer for Joe for a long time.
Like what youz was saying, the trajectory of the song was so perfect, like a beautiful graph and why this performance ought to be an all time classic.
Jimmy is Scottish but as usual the aussies claim him as theirs. Very typical aussie behaviour... Farkin aussies 😁
Joe is so masterful with his guitar.
Try some of Joe Bonamassa with Beth hart I´d rather go blind and I´ll take care of you
Superb! Thank you.
