Barnsey and Bonamassa chasing each other through crescendos and then bringing it back down after each one. It’s top tier sublime. Thank you for your great reaction. Love from Australia. Xx 🇦🇺
Yep, you found the right video...... this is the live studio performance of this song..... :D xx.... thank you... we Ozzies are LOVING all you guys discovering our true talents here in Oz xx
Good Times was originally performed by the Easybeat & was written by members George Young(rip) & Harry Vanda. George is the elder brother of Malcolm(rip) & Angus Young of AC/DC
What can't this man sing. From greatest of Rock to a quiet ballad, Soul, Blues, he's just about to release an amazing Rock-a-billy album. He has even recently done a live cover of Sia's 'Chandelier' hitting those notes way up there. He is amazing and only getting better with age. You still need to check out 'Wild Thing' - Cold Chisel - live at the Last Stand, for one of the great live tracks by anyone , ever.
He sure is Stu, even though Jimmy came to Australia aged about 5 years old, I can still mildly here his Scottish accent. And what a voice - brilliant. I only discovered Joe from America via Jimmy, he’s one of my favourite guitarists now. Jimmy’s son Jackie born here, so we have 3 countries and the rest of the band performing fantastically.
Joe Bonamassa is an amazing guitarist and that's why I've been banging on about him. You really should check him out with Paul Rodgers singing Walk in my shadow, which is a classic from Free.
You need to watch - if you haven’t already - these two covering the Deep Purple song Lazy. Superb! Also Jimmy’s daughter Mahalia sings with Joe Bonamassa - Riding with the King for one
Just discovered that Ian Moss did the guitar on the recorded version...... I guess this was not only live but a private collaboration between a group of musicians. The same as their cover of Lazy by Deep Purple........ How to decide / choose...... the live in Japan with Ian Gillan, Ritchie Blackmore , Ian Paice and Jon Lord Or The brilliant cover by Jimmy Barnes , Joe Bonamassa and talented friends. lol
I can see the Whiter Shade Of Pale feeling. A really yearning feel. The pace of the lyrics especially. While Whiter Shade isn’t a love song, both songs have a sense of sweetness in the music.
Good times was a song by another Aussie band called The Easybeats. Here is a clip of them singing their version from the 60’s ua-cam.com/video/8yMswt56fvQ/v-deo.html
The Guitar riff starts off a little like Georgia on My Mind..... Ray Charles and many others. Have a listen to the Georgia cover by Ian Moss....... the guitarist and 2nd vocalist from Jimmy’s former band Cold Chisel. Now there is another very deep rabbit hole to explore.
If you like Soul and or blues then you need to checkout song's from Jimmy's Soul Deep album. He sings a cover of bring it on home to me. But I would ask you to please react to Soothe me by jimmy barnes and Sam Moore. Sam is Sam from Sam and Dave. Jimmy released this song last year just after his 66th birthday Sam Moore was 86 Years old.
Joe is a super talented guitar player, with a huge catalogue of his own, child prodigy type guy. I'd heavily recommend you listen to the stuff he did with Beth Hart, they do absolutely killer versions of Nutbush City Limits and I'd Rather Go Blind.
@@captcaveman82 One of, if not the greatest, songwriters in Australian music history. I don't think there's a single Chisel song he doesn't have a credit on
If you are interested, here is the songwriter, Don Walker, keyboard player for Cold Chisel, on writing the song, followed by the original studio version (circa early 90s from memory) ua-cam.com/video/iCVKvm_UjZ4/v-deo.html
If you're a singer and you name your daughter 'Mahalia' (after Mahalia Jackson, one of your idols), you better be DAMNED sure she can sing - and she can!
One of the best Barnsey vocals I've heard, and Joe Bonamassa is a great collaborator.
Barnsey and Bonamassa chasing each other through crescendos and then bringing it back down after each one. It’s top tier sublime. Thank you for your great reaction. Love from Australia. Xx 🇦🇺
Love this collab, Jimmy and Joe are fantastic together. Band also so tight. Love it.
The start reminds me of Georgia on my mind. Great song and stellar guitar work.
Great musicians just get better with age. They know how to hold the reigns back and keep you wanting more. Love it

AGREE 110%
That is soul music. Spot on
Great reaction.
Don Walker, of Chisel fame, wrote this.
Just love the ending as it drops back. Genius.
Jimmy Barnes a true Scotsman.
He sure is Stu, even though Jimmy came to Australia aged about 5 years old, I can still mildly here his Scottish accent. And what a voice - brilliant. Ah yes! I recognise the song but haven't heard this particular version yet 🙂 Some people call my son Barnaby also 'Barnesy' 😄

...a.k.a. the 'Friday On My Mind' guys 😀
I think you're thinking of 'Georgia'.... particularly the intro. ... however, it stops there..... Great song...!!
Joe started his career at 12 yrs old when he opened for BB King. The drummer is Jimmy's son Jackie.
This vocal performance has all the hallmarks of a certain Mr Joe Cocker Esquire
Great song.Another great song with Joe Bonamassa is with Beth Hart "I'd Rather Go Blind"

It reminds you of Whiter Shade of Pale I'm sure! The songs was written by Don Walker, an Australian musician and songwriter.
Wrong it was written by Keith Reid who wrote every Procol Harum song
@@warrenturner397 I wasn't referring to the Procol Harem song, I was talking about Stone Cold. :)

Yes please. Soothe Me.
IN THE 80'S jimmy was the best rock singer by a mile.the only other was coverdale
I saw you smile again dude! 😅 Just ragging on ya .

Also a massive collector of vintage guitars and amps 🙂
@@mightyV444 technically, all guitars have been, are now, or will be, owned by Joe Bonamassa. Or at least, that's the way it feels ;)
@@Sandy-dd4le - I think you're pretty close with that description, too! 😄
@@mightyV444 I'll be ready when he comes for mine!
@@Sandy-dd4le - LOL! 😄 I think I should be sweet - don't own any exciting guitars right now 😅
👍
There's not one original note to be heard here, but it hits the sweet spot in every way. Great performance.
Out of this world. I can replay this over and over.
This was written by Jimmy and his wife, Jane. This song is going to be a classic. Joe Bonamassa is one of the best guitarists This world has produced
Excepting of course that the song was written by Don Walker...
