      Hey guys my dad is an experienced plumber he said that if the air happens when the water is on hot then the hot water tank is having a reaction with the water. To fix it you would have to take the anode rode out of the hot water tank. Hope that makes sense and actually fixes the problem! Happy Sunday!

    The air inn the water...
    Start at the point where the water enters the system.
    If the line sucking water into the pump has any leaks at all you can be blessed with air in the water.
    Next look at the pump itself. Is the pump in like new condition? If the seal has any cracks or scratches on the sealing surface air can be sucked into the pump. Next look at the pressure tank. Depending on the type. The water line should be at the bottom. Some are along the side. Some tanks have a air bladder in the top of the tank. If the air bladder is damaged from aging your tank will water log... Its a mystery where the air goes. Other tanks do not have a bladder in the top part of the tank. This type of tank can also fill up with water. Some pumps have a device which is supposed to put air in the tank when it pumps water to keep it from becoming water logged.

    Air is being introduced somewhere. There could be a pea sized hole that could cause that over time. Time to trace some supply lines!

    • @JustinRY
      @JustinRY 4 роки тому +6

      Yup agree! I had the same issue with my kitchen faucet and found the leak that I had to put a pan underneath to catch the drips.

    • @benjaminlee1089
      @benjaminlee1089 4 роки тому +13

      This is correct the lines should typically stay pressurized so you have air entering them at some point.
      I would not assume it is a leak or anything like that though. Since you are on well water, based on location, you likely have a pump, filter, and other systems. I assume that at some point your storage take or the filter are not operating at the same volume. So your tank holds 6 gallons and the filter can only move 5gal per hour. So it runs out and since one of those isn’t sealed cause in well water systems they aren’t always. It introduces air. If you show them in detail I could diagnose in more detail.

      @shawnrutters 4 роки тому +9

    My wife and I really enjoy your videos while we're sipping our Chaiwala chai! No plumbing experience but as a carpenter for 35 years I have some advice - the rim joist that is attached to existing house should be anchored with 1/2" lag bolts 16" on center so that the deck does not separate from the house. Joist hangers should be installed on floor joists which are mounted against the rim joist of the house - toe nailing the floor joists is not strong enough. Solid blocking should be used on the first 2 floor joists on each side 16" on center. Solid blocking also to be used on the rest of the floor joists every 8 feet from the house to prevent floor joists from warping. The "X" pattern railing looks nice but isn't safe (children can fall through).Wood railings should be 42" finished height with pickets 5" on center. Or use tempered glass railings and enjoy your beautiful view!

    NOOOO! you guys MUST creat an air space with your wood strapping for the roof! When metal gets hot it will sweat on the underside and create lots a moisture on those old shingles underneath. It will eventually rot out that old roof dec and cause lots of damage. (Hopefully you guys dont block off your soffit along the gables.) Also the gable trim should be going on last so it's on top of the shingle to keep wind driven rain out with capping on top obv. Also didnt see any sidewall trim? What's keeping the water from getting behind all your siding? Hopefully you put a C trim or sidewall of some kind and didnt just but it in. 🤞

    You can usually get rid of air bubbles in the line by backing it up with water - get a hose and seal the end as best you can to the affected tap, then turn the hose on so it squirts water hard up the line. It will usually dislodge the bubbles. This happened with us a few times so badly that we couldn’t get any water through and the plumber got us to try that before he came out. It worked like a treat.

    Quick tip Eamon and Bec. If you elongate the screw holes on that plexiglass, it won't crack with the expansion and contraction in the heat/cold. If the screws are too tight without any space to move, it is pretty much guaranteed to crack. Not sure why type of spray foam you used, but I remember Mike Holmes saying that some of it is extremely flammable if its not covered with drywall.

    To fix air blocks in your pipes. Turn all your taps on, including your outside taps. Working from the last tap in the line, turn them off (taps) one at a time. The last tap to be turned off, is the closest to your main water connection. This way you have forced all the air bubbles to be trapped between your last tap and the main line... if you still have air, then repeat but change the pattern of taps being turned off.

    The H2O spitting is because your valves somewhere are leaking down allowing air in. It could also be a pipe leaking between the pump and the faucet. A pressure leak down test at the well to see if it’s in the well is the first check. Next an antibackflow valve at the well will help
