Such a cozy video Kalle! 🥰 And great job with the roof!! 👏🏻🎉 I love the blue color you have on all the wooden details. It feels so unique compared to most cabins/houses here in Sweden. It looks so beautiful!
Wow! Theodora is very talented and did a wonderful job with the sweater. I hope Christine shows hers too. Thank you for the video. Your videos are so relaxing for me. Love this one!
Your videos always give me a sense of peace & contentment. The way life should be. I live in the USA. Thank you for your beautifully filmed and truly special content. I wish you a warm and cozy autumn and winter. 🍂
Speaking of movies this fall - has anyone seen the Disney movie Togo (2019) about a sled dog and his owner? I highly recommend it for a cozy evening🍁🍂🧡
Very nice and cozy video, as always. It actually gets me in the mood for autumn, my favourite season. It's not quite there yet in Germany but eventually it'll come. Crossing fingers that you get all your project done in time before winter falls.
So nice to see you again Kalle! I always look forward to your videos. I think you have accomplished so much and I am so proud of you! You are right when it comes to this world being too dependent on the modern conveniences. I grew up with all that. But I prefer this old school lifestyle over it anyway. Keep doing what you're doing. Much love ❤️
Hi Kalle, I am so happy you have made such great progress on the roof. The blue trim is gorgeous. You need to hold a finished roof celebration when you're done in a week.
For me it's the opposite. Autumn and winter is when I get things done outside because it's too warm in summer. In autumn all the bugs disappear as well, which is perfect for work in the forest. Did you ever trace that spring? I believe you mentioned at some point that your pond was getting a bit low.
Ahh no internet no phone no cars no tech , my happiest memories in the 70’s when electric went out and we sat round fire and had candles and HAD to be with each other as a family
Your new roof's blue trim looks really handsome with your cabin. I can't wait to see it when it's completed. The Autumn colors from your drone is lovely too, especially the colorful deciduous trees intermingled with the conifers. 🍁🍂🌲🌳
I deeply respect a man who is not afraid to get dirty and sweaty taking care of his homestead. Theodora must be a very special person to make you those gorgeous sweaters. I love Fall and the trees are just starting to change color in Portland, Maine, USA.
Fantastic footage Kalle, as always. What an incredibly generous and beautiful handcrafted gift to have received, you are both truly blessed. ❤ I'm looking forward now to cosy winter day's and winter footage from you. 😊
You should buy a JACKERY power unit so you can charge your small devices or mains powered items in your cabin ....just in case ...mine comes with solar panels so you can b totally off grid incase power goes off !.. nice videos by the way !👍👋
Hey Kalle. I can totally relate to that feeling of being swamped with tasks and responsibilities, but it’s all about enjoying the present don’t forget! It's a reminder we all need from time to time. And that jumper you received as a gift? It was awesome! Looking forward to more inspiring content from you. Keep up the fantastic work! Tina
I think the designer of that sweater should be mentioned (kind though it was of Theadora to make it!) - it's Linka Neumann, a Norwegian knitting designer who has popularised this pawprint pattern and has published several books of wonderful sweaters, predominantly made in Icelandic and Norwegian wool.
Kalle never said that I am the designer. I only knitted the sweaters. And I may wrote down in the letter I've sent, but he is not going to read the whole letter in a video. I was surprised att he showed it. I thought I will only see it when they are wearing them. 😊
@@teodoradezsonetenyi8275 don't fret!!! You still did the work of making the garments! You did a BEAUTIFUL job on the sweaters and it was a generous, lovely thing to do. What a lot of time and love you put into the gifts.
@@teodoradezsonetenyi8275 No, of course he didn't, he was thrilled with the beautiful gift! I only mentioned it because in the knitting world, too many designers do not get the recognition they deserve for their intellectual property and this is a great pattern - I'm currently knitting it, too! There was no criticism involved, either of you or Kalle, just a commentary; it's a hugely generous gift to make someone a sweater, as I know only too well.
All lycka till dig 🙏
Wonderful video! The roof is looking good as is the whole cabin, you should be very proud. I love that a power cut doesn’t stop you from living, that is so important more now than ever. Love doggie on your lap, so sweet and what a gift from your viewer, oh wow that is very special and so much talent. ❤
Hej from Jamtland. Yes, winter is coming and I think it will be a harsh one this year. Last year our local temps got down to minus thirty more than once...so glad to have the wood fireplace in the house! We are still sawing and stacking wood for winter, and putting the garden to bed.
We just had our first 0°C night two weeks ago and did these exact same chores! We miss waking up and starting a fire as well, the cold weather offers a yearly recharge for us.
This is the first video of yours I have seen…and I really love your wood stoves, your hanging chair, love your dog and that you can get water from the stream (river?sprung?). Fall & winter are the perfect “cozy” months. I hope you guys have the coziest. Thank you for sharing your adventures.😊
And our "cozy" is his lifestyle! He does what needs to be done when it should be done, there's a lot of hard work, but it must be incredibly satisfying.
Spider in the ear-protection... thats why i dont use woodlogging-helmet. Can´t double-slapp the muffs together to eliminate the risk 😀 Great video man, looking forward to the next! 👍
Great video Kalle. I'd be interested on a video where you talk about how you make sure you regenerate and maintain the land when you're also dependent on the resources from it, like firewood.
Hi Kalle, just wanted to say that I really enjoy watching your videos. The scenery, the way you do things, the way your house looks, even the way you talk and keep those little 'slip ups' in the videos! 👍🏼
Good work Kalle, you have to love the dichotomy of stove cleaning, hating the cleaning and loving the end result. Cleaning the stove is always a last minute job for me , but it always reminds us of the wonder of winter to come. Keep well.
Fall is my favourite time of the year, even though it is the busiest time of year here in the bush in Canada. There is so much to do to get ready for winter and i love it all
👍 Just one suggestion - it's very important to use special pants and boots for working with the chain saw. They can stop the chain if it goes wrong! Lycka till!
Been watching your videos whole day now. Been thinking about starting saving for a own place In Finland. With my current job i could propably get a nice place after two years. Thanks for these videos!
Hello Kalle, Thank You for this video.Sweden at this time of the year looks beautiful in this surroundings that I could see in the video. Good luck in finishing up your roof, I hope it goes well and comes out to your expectation. The sweater that the viewer sent you was beautiful, it took her a long time to knit both of those for you and Christina. Looking forward to hearing more about your adventures in your videos.
Ah I have just a summer cabin at the moment, I`m back in city already- Tallinn, but oh do I miss slow living in cabin. It is good to see your videos, it reminds me what I`m working for!
Love your videos. I especially love it when you show your cabin projects as you work through them and finish them. Looking forward to the roof reveal! Best wishes as you get ready to hibernate for the winter in front of your fire!!
Loved every moment of this video! I make UA-cam videos in a similar spirit as you though I’m in an adventure chapter in my life at the moment - today is actually one year of living and traveling full time on the road with my two cats - but I started living in the countryside and perhaps it’s the arrival of autumn but im finding myself missing doing projects like you’re doing here on the property. So thank you for letting me live vicariously through you. Congrats on the roof! Sending many blessings from my little corner of the world to yours 🍂
The saying I would use for completing the roof is "stick a fork in it". I think the origin of this is putting a fork in a piece of meat that is cooking to see if it is done. I love the blue trim.
This is so strange to me! I've been following Kalle for the past year saying "I can't wait until I move to Sweden" and now I'm here!! Kalle, if you want some help around the cabin, hit me up. I can be in Sollefteå in about 90 minutes!
@@wakingtheworld I'm I'm Sundsvall! I think Kalle will do what he did before if his life gets a bit out of hand. He moved up north for a change. I think if his life gets too hectic then he will change it again.
The spider-in-ear happened to me too, twelve years ago when I lived in a tiny cabin over the winter, so I knew before you said it. 😅 I thought it was my own hair, messed with it for a minute or two, then took my headset off and a big-ass spider ran out. I FLEW over to my bed and didn't move for five minutes. 😨 We were both equally scared it seems, me and the spider.
Hi Kalle. I've followed your channel for a while now and really enjoyed it. I love the lifestyle you share with one glaring exception.. that wood-fired cook stove. We are currently travelling in hunting areas with our dog.. advise on line was to put a flourescent jacket on the dog.mand ourselves so the dog can bee seen by hunters so the dog is safer.. Such a lovely video thankyou
I love the idea of the "ritual" of waking up and making a fire to warm the house, but I was wondering if, instead of also starting the kitchen stove, have you ever consider using a sort of "camping" style stove , either in the house or outside, (propane, butane or even the BioLite which uses small twigs and organic material - if you're somewhere vaguely foresty, which you definitely are, it means you'll never run out of fuel) to cook meals ... especially in the summer when keeping the kitchen stove fired up all day might be unpleasant? I think it's also a good use of resources since you don't have to keep feeding the stove all day and only fire it up when you need to use it. Your kitchen stove is beautiful and a dream to use, I'm sure, but I'll bet it also it eats up the wood.
Love learning things from these videos. I am curious why he cuts down the bottom half of the tree? Wouldn't it still keep growing? Perhaps he just needs the firewood? Will the bottom die anyway?
Don't forget that those ashes are a great source of potash for the garden!! Awesome to see you getting ready for winter.
Such a cozy video Kalle! 🥰
And great job with the roof!! 👏🏻🎉 I love the blue color you have on all the wooden details. It feels so unique compared to most cabins/houses here in Sweden. It looks so beautiful!
