    eat barley (instead of rice) mixed with Urid dosa will solve the issues . And eggs and avacado salad. Fruits Kiwi, orange and pears

    Doctor suggested me to avoid Banana, mango, sapota, black grapes, custurd apple, egg yolks, peanut chutney and sweet corn during gestational diabetes. May be varies from person to person

      Some people are just sensitive to certain foods. I’m super sensitive to anything with even a little bit of starch. I’m also sensitive to certain fruits. Pineapple my body does fine with but then bananas spike my blood sugar a lot. Toast and tortillas are fine but as soon as I eat a bun or a roll it’s over.

    Good choices, most of them r healthy and have healthy protein content. Fruits have little sugar but it’s fine if it’s not consumed a lot

    Really interesting video. But doctors asked me to avoid - Carote, Pineapple, grape, papaya, this might cause miscarriages. Also avoid oats as our digestive system cannot digest it well.

    Hope everyone checks their blood sugar post meal …… I highly doubt that amount of broken wheat , oats , dal shown here are etc are suitable for GD …. Especially towards later stages of pregnancy - please remember , high glucose levels can ruin the placenta and it may cease to function

      i followed this one and had a healthy pregnancy. i was able to control my sugar levels within limits, maintained weight throughout pregnancy and had a baby with normal weight. i have prepared these meals based on my own choice of foods, considering the advice from a nutritionist and a physician.

      Carbs are still required for a healthy growth in your baby. Dahl should be fine. As it is a legume and not a grain. I ate rice, bread and pasta with my last pregnancy and was diet controlled. My baby turned out fine with her measurements and all due to the fact that I measured everything I was eating to the exact gram and reading all carbohydrate information and doing my own calculations for foods.

      yes I do. I followed this diet and my blood sugar was under control. I just did the blood test after every meal and fasting blood test as well. No insulin.

    Sis is that possible morning breakfast oats with milk change to oats upma or oats porridge? Vegetables I use same measurement for quinoa recipes that you use?

      Yes you can..but if you are avoiding milk, substitute it with some calcium source. my choices are chia seeds, curd, almonds.

      I was actually doing the blood glucose test 4 times a day, 1 - fasting and 3 - after meals test. The normal values suggested were as follows, fasting

      Check with your physician please.
      I was diagnosed with GD with my second pregnancy at 7th month and followed this from 7th month.
      With my 3rd pregnancy, I had sugar test at 3rd month and had to strictly follow this from 3rd month.
      If you diagnosed with GD already, this diet will be really helpful if started earlier.

      4 cups of low fat/no fat dairy products in any form can be consumed per day, if there are no other health issues.

      not really.
      it actually raised my sugar levels during GDM with store bought wheat flour. everybody's metabolism is different. so please check the sugar level after consuming roti. try with different combinations also.
      oilless roti(1) with vegetables is a good choice. but roti with dal will increase the sugar, as dal has some amount of carb in it.

      hi.. this is the diet that I have followed and maintained my sugar levels. this can be taken as reference in planning the portion control. but we really have to check on what works well for us. people do have allergies with some foods.

      Hi..I recently delivered my baby and I may not be able to share anything in detail now. But here are few things that I would like to share. Always use measuring cups/spoons while taking any food. Can take whole grains and millets for Carb.. I have noticed my sugar levels were going high with store bought wheat flour.. So please make a note of what food is working for you and try to avoid other things. Protein choices: Tofu, Eggs. (lean meat - only-1/4 cup). lentils and pulses are good sources of protein, but it has high starch content also. So take it in moderate amount. Dairy choices: Always prefer low fat milk / yogurt. Kiwi fruit is a best food to control sugar levels. Can consume 2-3 fresh kiwi fruit a day.

    1 cup of oatmeal is approx 60 gms of carbs. 1 bowl of rice is about 70 gms.
    I dont see how this is helpful for ppl w GDM who need to cut dwn on carbs

      Hi..please note the measurements. It is 1/2 cup cooked oatmeal and 1/2 cup cooked rice.
      I have followed this diet and seen the results, maintaining the weight.( I had GDM with 3 pregnancies and all these recipes gave me good results)

      Take high protein food like paneer.. finish your dinner at least 3hrs before sleeping.. this really helps a lot in maintaining sugar level..

    Are you sure these are meals for diabeties?! Milk and apples, in the same time? Rice and mango with yoghurt at the same meal! My glucose level will go crazy! I know we are different, but still...I think it's too much...

      As you said everybody’s metabolism is different. These are the meals that were prepared after the regular consultation from personal physician and nutritionist and that worked well for me. The proportion and combinations are based on the professional suggestions. Certain things might not work for everybody. (Wheat is suggested as the foremost diabetic food, but 1 chapathi with any combo increased my sugar level above normal). So one should certainly check what is good for them.

      Hi.. may be because of how the oats was processed. Check the pack if it is whole grain oats. There are certain grains that are processed to minimize cooking time and also to enrich the taste. Certain grains might have some impact in affecting sugar levels.
      I have noticed difference between branded wheat flours available in the market and stone milled wheat flour. The sugar level was so high with store brought flours whereas it was moderate with milled flour.

      Hi, this is not just a video prepared just like that.
      This diet was followed having gestational diabetes with 3 pregnancies. The diet was prepared after thorough consultation with a physician and international nutritionists. I have followed this and had 3 healthy normal deliveries.
      This is shared as a reference to help someone out there, as I found it difficult to find such diets when I went through GDM.
      Everybody's metabolism is different and please workout what suits your body.
      And you are always WELCOME to share your ideas of right diet if you have some, so it might help others, as many are going through GDM.
