I’m sooo glad I found metal when I was 10 - I’m 48 - I’m still listening, loud ‘n heavy!
Same here, brother! 49 this January... got my first KISS album at 8, then Ride The Lightning at 12. Never looked back!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
I’m in my 50’s and still fucking loving this shit!!
Same bro..im 49..nevrr stop listening to metal..forever!!!
I'm 44 and right along. My sis is 6 yrs my sr. She's who introduced me to metal early. I was 6
People ask when am I going to grow of this stuff and my reply is always the same. What is there to grow out of? It is the best music on earth.
I’m in my 50’s and Testament is in the soundtrack of my life...
In my forties and never ever stop listening to this stuff...ever.
Metal
@@thomasfarmer1730 same here, somewhere in Ionian beaches of Albania
Skerdilajd Memushaj I’m from Australia....hello,have you ever been to to the Wacken festival??
Same here, 52 and I will love metal until the day I die!
Still a pure masterpiece. 2024 🤘🏻
How could anyone dislike this? They must not have practiced what preached
jon doe Dislikers BURN ☠️☠️
No shit
Hello
Very funny 😄
This song kicks ass going 110 down I95 in an old school trans am.
Engineer: how much bass do you want in this mix?
Testament: yEs
That’s why they actually have a good sound unlike most of these fucking one way trains
Greg Christian kicks so much ass!
I could use some more bass. The mix is not particularly bassy although the bass guitar is clearly audible.
@@oiesen2112 funny how that works isn't it.
When you can hear the bass from your phone speaker, that's bass lol
Testament has so many great songs it is difficult to name an absolute favorite. But, if I had to choose one then this would be it. The lead playing by Alex demonstrates how he was on top of his game. He's still pretty darn great even today. I love Alex' leads, always have.
souls of black
+John Rife Souls of Black is an excellent choice. Still, I feel Practice What You Preach is the apex of Testament's music. I need to repeat myself by saying Testament has so much great music that ten people can choose ten different songs and each will have a good argument as to it being one of Testament's greatest songs.
+Jesse Huerta I agree with you. Testament is awesome but in my opinion Over The Wall is their best one.
I don't know Testament that much, but id I had to choose between the songs that I've already listened to....
I don't know, I think I would go with Eerie Inhabitants
Honestly, my favourite leads are from the song The Legacy. But if I had to choose one main solo it would either be this or Over The Wall or Seven Days Of May...ugh, but there's also Apocalyptic City, Return To Serenity it's too damn hard to pick one!
I haven't heard such a solo for a long time. Masterpiece!
What about tornado of souls???
@@irafinkelstein423 Dave's great,but Skolnick was ahead of his time,too.
@@brotherlittlefoot2216 Marty played the solo on tornado
Skolnick is the best guitarist in the 80s thrash scene, Hetfield could match him on rhythm guitar, and Dimebag could match him in the early 90s
Gotta give credit to Alex Skolnick. In my opinion this particular main solo has so much attitude and feel.
Alex is a genius on guitar and he's left his mark in the industry that's for sure.
One of the greatest Thrash records ever made!
Indeed still remember the rush of riding down the highway blaring this from my 1976 Oldsmobile Cutlass
Listening in 2024! I saw Testament live in Germany when I was in the military (1985). I remember because it's the first time I broke my nose in a mosh pit. I'm 60 years old now but still rocking and looking for the next pit 🍻🤘👍
You think your life's so grand, you don't believe a word you say
Your feet aren't on the ground, you let your life just slip away
Just so uncertain of your body and your soul
The promises you make, your mind so blank and then you lose control
Then you lose control
I never was the one, the one to say the things you say
Never seem to wonder what you say
You think you've got your life completely in control
You've got a lot to learn, the bridge you burned is gonna take its toll
Pay the appropriate toll
So practice what you preach
Practice what you preach, preach
Practice what you preach
Practice what you preach, preach
Practice what you... preach
You think your life's so grand, you don't believe a word you say
Your feet aren't on the ground, you let your life just slip away
Just so uncertain of your body and your soul
The promises you make, your mind goes blank and then you lose control
Pay the burnt bridge toll
Then you lose control
Pay the burnt bridge toll
So practice what you preach
So practice what you preach, preach
Practice what you preach
Practice what you preach, preach

Thumbs up, so you were 30 when this came out ROCK ON !!!!!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
It’s crazy how music can bring two different generations together. I’m 32 and love this record.
59 and still thrashin'!
I might be 17 but im glad to have a dad thats 56 to introduce me to music (he showed me metallica at 4) and recently this band and im so glad he did. This is my number one played song on spotify
One of my favorites too !
@@jdsk8914 yesss!
Your a good son ... I'd beat my son with Megadeth cassette if he didn't like metal ... Fu*k those pu**y bands !!!
144 years old and im still rocking
😂😂😂😂😂 great
Unknowingly paving the way for groove in metal, such a classic album
Good point, especially w this and the "Souls of Black" album.Pantera does have some similar riffs and style.

I started listening and loving Testament when I was 20yrs. old in 1986. I'm now 56 yrs. old I still love em. Without a doubt a truly fantastically gifted band that still to this day blows me away and gets me off my hinges. Wish I could go back in time...cause I surely would without hesitation.
Bass sound is tremendous. Shit like this made me want to play bass.
As a bass player, I approve this album. Finally got that shit back with Titans Of Creation.
Not even close
my favorite song of Testament
Fuck yeah it is
Tecnol X I’m right with you on that one. I can never get enough.
Not for me, Trail Of Tears, The Legacy and Return To Serenity are my favourite since those songs have a certain emotion and feeling to them which few songs in existence can give me and it takes me to other places that I create and can help me travel world's in my mind.
Those three songs in that order is my absolute favourite and I take it as all one song so it's my favourite song.
My one favorites but not main favorite.
Yeah absolutely great but my favorite song : Desciples of the watch 🤘🤘🤘
That bass.
Varun Kuchibhotla It's good isn't it!?!
Varun Kuchibhotla . Exacto- exactly 👌
Ése bajo si que rifa.....
That's the accurate volume a bass normaly deserves, but they probably turn it down cause the lines aren't very different to the guitars. What a waste for a whole instrument
Yes.... Greg Christian's bass work is excellent on this album and under-fucking-rated. It is a big part of what made the Testament sound stand out.
...And Justice For Testament
Yes, this was clearly influenced but Blackened... quality is the same.
??? I dont get it 😆
I think this is more close to Anthrax
No, too much bass
I remember the first time I Heard this song on Vh1...I was like..GODDD THAT SOLO!
Hand down one of the best metal solos in history
Can't get any better than 80s metal
Absolutely one of the best solos I have ever heard in my life! Amazing! Harmony, melody. pitch, beat, rythym and all the other great sounds along with his solo work
Greatest Guitar solo I've ever heard here
This. It's up there with Tornado of Souls and some of Kai's greatest stuff. Alex is the real deal.
The bass sound on this album is so gnarly... Testament is awesome!
The whole band is amazing

Still by far my favorite Skolnick solo
These guys are so good live.
Practice What You Preach and Souls of Black are my favorite Testament albums .
This is a great thrash song. Metal at its finest.
Still, amazing in 2020
I was a child during the 80's, and I grew up listening to metal, thanks to my uncle. My uncle was like my father, because my father decided to leave me. But hey!! I appreciate that, because of that, I grew with my uncle, and he showed me Testament, Megadeth, Judas Priest, and so on. Thanks my dear uncle, you will always be at my side. I miss you!
Testament were always my favourite thrash metal band of all time.. The vocals, the drums, the guitar sound, and of course, the bass (I was always a big bass fan). Everything just blended together for the perfect sound and this song is a shining example of how Testament just "worked". 🤘😬🤘
MOD had big bass on their albums too
And the chorus sends shivers down the spine. After 32 years....
Have seen Testament many many times!!! Their Music never gets old! Alex is one of my all-time favorite Thrash Guitarist 🤘
SO DAMNED AWESOME STILL IN 2018!!!!!

Tornado of souls sorry
Megadeth are my favorite band, but I will always respect Testament and Alex's solos are truly spectacular ❤
We need more players like Alex!
I remember the first time I heard this song on MTV... years before VH1 would have touched it.
A lot of what VH1 plays now were once big originally on MTV.
Covered this in high school. Mom and dad were studio musicians into all kinds of music. But im the black sheep i guess. Love ya mom and dad. Thanks for a life of music
pantera is my favorite band, but i love these guys so much
I bought this album the day it came out :)
They're bass player is so badass with those riffs
MR.greg cristian
Super hot arrangement with the harmonys
Testament aged like fine Wine. They are better now then they were back in the day. None of the greats can bring it like Testament can now anymore.

Nunca me cansaré de escucharlos,,, ufff
Best guitar solo ever!!
That bass.... Holy shit!!!!
always have loved their music personally
A lot of punk feel in it. Especially the vocals. Superb song, all time classic
Everyone talking about how old they are and still listening to nostalgic metal. But no one talks about a youngster who, against trends and pop culture, himself chose to listen to this wonderful phenomenon called Metal music.
Funny how something that's not really real or physical but rather a wave in air (or any medium) is actually the reason I'm still alive today. I may not be able to "touch" Metal music in a physical sense, but Metal definitely touches the soul.
Metal word count: 4

My father is a preacher, and he always did practice what he preached, thank goodness. He wasn't the kind of preacher that told everyone they were going to Hell;he was the kind that just helped who he could - and he still visits jails to this day at age 87.He'd give any man, woman,or child the shirt off of his back in a blizzard if he knew that one of them needed it,and then he'd go buy the family clothes....I'd have been sh*t without him as a Guide and father, which is why this song hits so hard for me in the gut.He also taught me how to call out others on their bs,as only a man who practices what he preaches can.Testament is highly underrated for their music and message.Yes,"Practice What You Preach",and the rewards will pay off in the end, always.Thank you,Pop,and thank YOU,Testament!
Goddamnit I miss the 80s
Best Testament EVER!!!! My favourite album.
I got in trouble with my mom for listening testament too much,I was 17 now Iam 49 still listening testament as always, this band is my favorite from 80&90, tank you,Iam William Rivera 👍
Killing the 89..🤘🤘
REAL METAL AT ITS BEST ALEX
I grew up in the bay area in the 80's. Most people don't know that Testament was named Legacy but the name was changed to Testament, the reason being there was already a band named Legacy in the Bay area. Remember going to Kegers watching and partying with them just like most bay area bands that made the 80's the shit!!!!!
Shout out to Fremont Hayward, Castro Valley yes back in the day so many great memories of shows. Remember the past clubs like the stone in sf and little club back in south. San Francisco and Joe's corner in Niles what about the Omni in Oakland. yup so many shows so many great bands with original members of Machine Heads, Forbidden, Krenshaw, Systematic and the hair days of Black Avenue, man made God, Reckless, Vain, and Flame. I love how the Niles "troll" is in the Flame video filmed in Niles creek in Fremont he lived in the hills of Niles canyon. Peace to all.
Haha! Reminds me of the time when my parents had saved for a long time to buy me the desired leather school bag. The very first thing I did: I worked the thing with a Sharpie and painted the Testament logo on it ... oh man, that was a Christmas! :-)
Cool song! The best metal band
love the 80's metal and wish i had a time machine to go back to stay and just soak it all up again lol
👍
Long live testament !!
The best guitar solo ever.Greetings from Estonia
I'm torn between this solo and the one from Sins of Omission
One of my absolute favourite tracks in thrash metal ..Chuck Billy has a damn killer awesome voice.. and the lyrics are badass!!!. .exactly!!! . they say the truth...
Practice What You Preach
Testament & Metal Forever
Yes he did. He went thru throat cancer, battled it and beat it. Unfortunately, it took a big toll on his vocals. He sings extra low and brutal now. I've seen T 3 times. Great show every time!
@@JudasSlays2426 Yes he went through this terrible cancer, but he beat it!! so happy for that! Yes his voice is slower and more brutal now! but Chuck and Testament are still awesome! I've seen their performance one time several years ago..one of the best conserts I've seen.. Absolutely Awesome
I remember when this album came out. Me and some buddy's of mine saw them at a small club and sure enough here comes Alex and Chuck.Fuckin hella cool guys and really down to earth. GREAT SHOW TO!!!
