The most underrated metal band in the 80's right here
20 bands US thrash metal to hear
ua-cam.com/video/IvGrc2IWLxc/v-deo.html
@ChronoWind testament had better solos
@ChronoWind Overkill is the definition of pure fukin garbage, generic ass maiden\tallica watered down boring ass thrash.
@@derekobs9688 i wish i could be disagreeing. but you are right.
I think Hirax should get an honorable mention.
I remember my mom saying "what the fuck are you listening to".... still my favorite shit. This record is incredible
My mum said.. I like that! 😁
lol
New Order is a thrashterpiece of metal
The Legacy is better
This song is what got me into being a fan of Testament.
Me too, I saw the video for this, a LOOOOOONG time ago. I think on VH1 metal classics or something. All I know is after I saw this video I went out and started buying their albums. Alex Skolnick's solos back then, amazing! Best guitarist to ever play in a thrash metal band.
First time i ever heard Testament was Over The Wall on a music channel, next day i had the album bought! Testament will always be one of my favourite bands! Pity their a bit crap live, well their sound was crap when i saw them. Apart from that, they are the shit!
I saw them live in 2006, they sounded awesome. My friend and I got to meet Alex and Greg, got some autographs. Greg was a dick though.
Would have been 2008 i saw them. They opened for Megadeth and Judas Priest.
Lawless Performance Racing ME TOO!!!!! 😈💔💋
Clemente’s snare, Peterson’s attack, Skolnick’s leads, Billy’s voice and Greg’s groove
30 years' later, I still bloody love everything about this - the music, the energy... and I love the ropey quality of the video, it's how I remember it from back in the day.
Are you a model Deborah?
True story🤘🤙
Headbangers Ball 1989 🤘🏾🔥🔥🔥🔥
Yeah, remember this Overkill and Nuclear Assault being on heavy rotation on MTV back in the day
You aren’t the only one😏
I broke my nose in the pit at a Testament show back in 89. What a awesome show they put on.
Unbelievable. Classic Testament. One of their best songs. Legendary.
They talk about the big 4 but don't forget bands like testament, exodus and overkill ! This band got me into thrash and at 44 it's still my favorite genres
jeff johnson dead right man
jeff johnson Yes sir!
Agreed, thought the same
Testament, Exodus, Overkill, Nuclear Assault. The extended big 8
The big 4 were just the biggest thrash bands of the 80s not necessarily the best just the most well known, there were plenty of other bands much better than the big 4 imo but you had to search hard to find them, Coroner is 1 that comes to mind, possessed is another and of course Testament ,exodus and overkill.
So raw and unpolished. Probably the best metal video ever.
Holy Wars... Megadeth.
No?
isnt that the video that clips so godamn fucking much
no thanks
Seasons in the abyss
Carcass has a similar vid with Heartwork
I came here after hearing the new Judas Priest 'Trial by Fire'. I needed real inspiration again!
1:05 The best one second in heavy metal history.
I remember watching Headbanger's Ball all the way through, just to catch the one or two thrash videos, but videos like this made the wait worth while. \m/ \m/
Holy Hell what an intense bunch of guys 😈❤💋
Q deMayo FUCK YES! It was unfortunately the era of hairbands that MTV passed as “heavy metal” and if you were lucky you’d see something good and this was one of those things. I still remember hearing this for the first time and bought the cassette like the next day. Their cover of Aerosmith’s “Nobody’s Fault” is amazing too. The late 80’s was definitely the golden age of thrash. Death Angel’s “I’m Bored” was another one that I remember sticking out among the deluge of shit they played.
Q deMayo me too
@Tracey Fitzpatrick *_Intense_* 💋 💦🍆
FUCK YEA!😃
Alex Skolnick was unique amongst Thrash metal guitar players in that he actually had a pretty good finger vibrato technique. Oh and he could play well without distortion, his jazz stuff is great to listen to.
my all time fav guitar player
When you see them live, and that very quiet, subtle guitar begins...you just get amped up (somehow) even more. I remember seeing them about 6-7 years ago and leaving the pit to get a beer, drinking about half of it, and then hearing those three slow notes. That's all I needed. I chugged what was left, tossed the cup and made a beeline back into the pit. I got there right when the thunder dropped and all hell broke loose. Bodies got launched into the air. Great times.
llongone2 so fucking what. you sir are a idiot. vo fuck yourself.
@@tararobinson5977 haaa.. that was a really weak attempt at trolling.. lesson 1 make sure and spell your words correctly in your comment especially if you call the other person an idiot sharing is caring love you
One of the prettiest guitar intro melodies ever. Then it CRUSHES!!!!!!!!!! 🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾
I played this over and over again when it came out in 88,I was 15 back then
and this album was one of many that have changed my life.
Still love it..always will!
yip , good album
kaosmonger73 I'm 15 now and this my favourite album of all time
One of the pioneer bands of thrash metal
Remember this being aired on headbangers ball back in 88 bought the cassette the next day
We can't let metal music die

Saw them preform the new order in its entirety for the 30th anniversary last year I went nuts to this song.
THE NEW ORDER IS MY FAVORITE ALBUM!! Then the Legacy!!
This is the song that hooked me on Testament. 1987-88 was a good year.
Best thrash band in history.
THRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASH!
This is THE greatest thrash metal production on Earth.
Honestly, blow me: with your dissent.... The riff. The production... The mix... It's perfect. Blow me if you disagree....

If I was given the opportunity to have a single lesson by any guitarist (dead or alive, hey this is hypothetical) it would definitely be with Alex Skolnick. By the way, get a copy of his book From Geek to Guitar Hero. It is a fantastic read. His soloing on this song is just like pretty much every other solo he has recorded, as close to perfect as I've ever heard. He never leaves in doubt who wrote/recorded that music. His playing is instantly recognizable. From Testament to The Alex Skolnick Trio, he has always been able to catch the essence of what it is like to be a true prodigy.
I wish Jason Becker was still playing guitar; ALS took his music from us way to early in his life. He is another guitar player I could say was able to reach near perfection with everything he wrote/recorded. Make it a point to listen to Jason's song Perpetual Burn. Incredible that he wrote and recorded this song when he was around 17 years old. Even Jeff Loomis said it took him around a month to learn it so he could make a video of himself playing it, easy to find on UA-cam. Afterwards he commented that his playing still did not do Jason's original version justice. Oh, Jason recorded it on his first take. Of course he then went back and did overdubs and such but the main song was recorded the first time the recorder was turned on...it is simply out of this world to imagine that sort of talent. Even though Jason is no longer playing guitar he is still with us today. Doctors said he would never live this long. Through pure determination and excellent care he still survives today. Way to go Jason! There is a video documentary of Jason Becker's life titled Not Dead Yet. Watch it and you too will become an instant fan.
Thanks for sharing that. 👍
i remember seeing this video on Headbanger's Ball and was just ... 🤯🤯🤯
Instant Testament Fan!
That riff!!!!
I usually dont like fast music like metallica megadeath anthrax etc. My friend first introduced me to this song and boy oh boy, I love it! A TRIAL BY FIRE!!!! 👍
Lot's to discover... the variety is endless......try Overkill?!!
Testament are Thrash Metal Gods!!!!! \m/
I remember getting psyched every time this video was played on Mtv, back when you had to wait for them to play a song to hear it. I saw Testament live 5 times in the early nineties. I got all of their autographs on the sleeve of the cassette for “The New Order”. I still love this band. Thrash was real and honest. I’m glad to have lived through the period when all of it was new and exciting.
This is the band that got me into thrash when i was a kid. Now Im 44 and I STILL love Testament. \m/ {>
I am 48 and reliving my days of BLASTING "The New Order" from the late 1980s / early 1990s. Appreciate your fellow support of this great work of art
why they was never classed the same as Slayer/Anthrax Megadeth I will never know, EPIC band, I remember buy PWYP and the Live at Eindhoven and New Order as a kid. Blown away.
Seeing his video for the first time back in the 80's was a life changing moment for me. Back before I knew what I even liked. This will always be the greatest metal song of all time in my eyes.
Yeah this brings back memories. The 80s were so much more than just the music. We were enlightened, educated, and breaking the mold.
Thanks for the Testament of some Metal-Veterans. Love them (beside Judas Priest).
I'd end my life today if I could go back to 88 God please take me back 😔🖤
Testament is a very good 👍👌 metal band 👌
This was my introduction to Testament....been a fan ever since.
I have a huge man crush for this band. Feel the testosterone flow!
+SuperWeaves It takes balls to make a comment like that, but I agree 100%. This band has remained "metal" throughout their career. To this day they bring it heavier than most of the other so-called metal bands who are still recording and touring.
SuperWeaves i want to feel it right now
@@stxrsforduck1219 .. gross
I've lost or given away lots of stuff over the years. Somehow I managed to keep my copy of this album on vinyl.
San Diego, Tijuana, Honolulu x2, NYC, Montreal, NOLA, Spokane, Seattle seen the mighty Testament going back to 1988. First Strike is Deadly! 🤘🏼🎸🇺🇸😈
Masterpiece!
ONE of the most talented up there with Metallica, Slayer, Exodus, Megadeth ,Death Angel and Forbidden.
Good songs the whole album!!!

TestAmenT This jam is Awesome Probably one of my favorites from the New Order Album Definitely a Favorite
The very first real thrash song I heard back in the day. Was hooked ever since on thrash metal.
The best metal band ever
This is Testament's official channel and they can't post a better quality version of their own video? This sounds and looks like a VHS rip from like 1989!! This song and this band deserve better.
The bands are not always in charge of their channels.
that's where the magic is, VHS rip from 1989! hehe
@@chapametal08 I saw the porn that starts like this... Uhm, wait, I mean the quality of the video!)
@@chapametal08 Totally agree, ppl are obsessed with "quality" but often ignore the charm of imperfection
@@sugimura135
Unfortunately imperfections don't work with music videos.

Still so ridiculously sick to this day🤘🤙
HEADBANGERS BALL baby! 🔥🎸
This is the time that broke me into Thrash and heavier music. They guys rocked live back in 89 when I first saw them and they kicked even more ass wjem I saw them last in 2009. Main difference was a better drummer in John Tempesta. I always tought Clemente was the wrong drummer for Testament.
Which is an interesting perspective. I started listening to these guys around 1986. It was before they were signed. They were still called "Legacy" at the time, and I got their demotape deirectly from the band (I found out about them through Blackthorn Magazine's unsigned band reviews). The entire Thrash, Death Metal, and Black Metal scene was fueled by the underground tape trading. I had tapes of tons of those bands.
I loved Louie Clemente's playing because he didn't overplay things. He kept it simple, and I appreciated that about him. I've been a drummer for 38 years, and I hate when guys overplay - you don't have to fill up every space with a drum or cymbal.... for me the openness of his style was one of the things that set them apart from a lot of bands. After he left, they just turned into another thrash band for me, and I quit listening to them.
I had just started playing at the time. Guys like Dave Lombardo or Charlie Benante were much more proficient drummers. They impressed me. Then I started listening to guys like Porcaro Morgenstein, Weckl and the older Jazz guys and the world of drumming opens up. Testament always felt Clemente held them back. Its been stated many times by the band and a known fact in drum circles.
I've seen them sing this live, in the 80's in Germany!!!
Great sound.
A relíquia do metal. Saudades do headbangers ball MTV que passava aquela programação satisfatória 🤘
