8. Sefirot, meaning emanations, are, according to the Jewish Kabbalah, the ten plains of existence that Ein Sof (the name of God prior to leaving the void) revealed Himself through when manifesting into physical reality, thus creating both said physical reality and the chain of higher metaphysical realms that are intrinsically linked to it. Sometimes referred to as The Tree of Life, Sefirot is alternatively transliterated into English as Sephirot or, more commonly, *Sephiroth* . When it is said that "God is everywhere.", the phrase is meant to be taken quite literally, which is a concept often lost on both believers and non-believers alike. Additionally, *Genova* (the name given to FFVII Sephiroth's "mother") is an obvious play on the word Jehovah, which is the Latinization of the Tetragrammaton (YHWH), or four-letter name of the God of Israel in the Hebrew Bible, and one of the seven names of God mentioned throughout Judaism as a whole. Honestly, I'm surprised you didn't mention any of this, and I'm not even Jewish.

Jesus defeated hell and death He's our only salvation and savior, you can have eternal life through Jesus who defeated death it's a free gift you can have it and be a apart of God's family but you must repent to God an ask for his forgiveness of our sins he will hear you then you must believe in him completely and put all faith in him and believe in the Gospel and then believe an confess Jesus is Lord an that God raised Jesus from the dead and that he is alive and then accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord an savior and trust him with your life and he will save you then you will have eternal life and have a personal relationship with Jesus our savior and with God our Father 🕊Romans 10:9 (KJV) That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.📖🕊Romans 10:10-13 (KJV) For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. Everyone has mourned the original crisis core sephiroth. 'bad' sephiroth still has the essence and slight hints of crisis core. Has anyone ever thought about sephiroth aksing cloud what he cherises and accepts the challenge when cloud says everything ? Think about it sephiroth knows the damage and torture about losing everything you cherish, it happened to him in crisis core
Kingdom Hearts Headcanon Time! My theory as to why Sephiroth wielded his sword in his right hand. He was going easy on Sora during Kingdom Hearts 1. Yet in KH2. He was not holding back. He wanted to see Sora's strength and resolve. Also, to draw out Cloud and to finally fight. That is why he went back to being a Southpaw. He wasn't holding punches.
Qardo I'm not sure but I think I read it somewhere, KH 1 Sephiroth version is somewhat based on Amano's version of the character, which is right handed. You would also see some parts of the outfit similar to Amano's.
That always bothered me when I was a kid. I always catch it right away if people are either right or left handers, and seeing Sephiroth fight with his right hand in Kingdom Hearts really bugged me.
In reality, it was because he was never meant to appear in the game, and the American localization team decided to install him, themselves. In the process, they simply overlooked a number of things. Notably, his left-handedness, and his signature stance. Both were reinstated with KH2, where he was actually always intended to appear, so the OFFICIAL crew behind his design, were able to "do it right". No sin was worse than having Lance Bass voice him, though. George Newbern is the ONLY proper voice of Sephiroth. I'm not even sold on the guy they hired for the remake, yet.
I always believed that Sephiroth won ff7. His goal was do be reborn as a god by summoning meteor and sitting in the wound absorbing the energy gathered there. He had already been sitting in a previous wound the entire game, and the only way to be reborn is to die, and it makes sense that you have no choice but to beat him in the end
Why does no one ever understand the fact that Sephiroth is merely a puppet as well? His character is full of irony. Jenova is the true villain of FF7. Shes just over looked because all we see is Sephiroth but the truth of the matter is. Those aren't Septhiroths words we hear. They are the words of Sephiroths twisted mind. Twisted and controlled by none other than Jenova herself. Jenova needed the perfect vessel since her true body was mainly destroyed due to the experiments and her time in dormancy. She manipulates everything in the game. The reactors. The clones and most of the experiments. You see Sephiroth was injected with Jenova cells while he was still in the womb. His hair used to be black but then turned Silver when he grew older. When he starts to doubt himself after finding Jenova in Mt Niebel he does the research on all the projects concerned with Jenova. Its during this time and his doubt she starts to speak to him. She lies and manipulates him into believing he is an ancient just like Jenova but we all know that isn't true. Sephiroth actually technically died when Cloud killed him at the reactor but due to the Jenova cells in him and in other things still living they took on the appearance of Sephiroth. Sephiroth kind of became one with her thats why in the game his body keeps turning into pieces of Jenova. The true Sephiroth is frozen in ice and you only physically fight him in the last battle. Edit: Cloud himself was being controlled by Sephiroth because of the cells in him. Hojo did this after finding him and Zack in the reactor. That's when Hojo started dubbing his subjects as Sephiroth clones. Not because they were clones in the sense that we are used to but because they could eventually become Sephiroth due to his consciousness being infused with Jenova. That's why in the movie Kadja turned into Sephiroth. He and his gang were the last of the "clones".
@@TheNin-Jedi I always repeated those same arguments a lot! It was Jenova who killed Aerith and President Shinra, not Sephiroth!! But for me, Hojo is the real villain in the game. Jenova is like a virus, an ancient evil with only an inevitable purpose, but Hojo made his decisions, and he is the reason that Jenova was liberated, and of everything that happens in FFVII, basically.
Pretty sure square have come out and stated that sephiroth is the true villain ie he has surpassed Jenova and is manipulating Jenova who essentially submits to his will now
False, it was Sephiroth who controlled Jenova. In fact, Jenova calls Sephiroth her master in the game. Kadaj, Loz and Yazoo are not “clones”. They were remnants created by Sephiroth’s will from the negative lifestream.
He uses a whole bottle of shampoo to wash his hair ;) I will delete this comment if its mentioned here :D 6:00 yep! Oh yeah conditioner as well I forgot xD
That's such a weird detail because I guess it applies in Crisis Core, but after that game Sepheroth's just stuck in the crystal and he's able to manipulate his Jenova Body to look however he wants.... So it's this weird thing that only applies to like one appearance, lol.
This was _VERY_ informative! I always thought Sephiroth and Aerith looked similar. Knowing that they were originally meant to be siblings makes sense, now! ❤️
Awesome Video! As a 1st generation gamer I've seen a lot of video-game baddies. General M. Bison has been at the top of my list of iconic badasses, until Sephiroth arrived. From his unique hair, his badassed black uniform, & to his iconic Masamune katana sword. His vocal tone is smooth, calm, confident, & powerful. Everything about him is badassed. Oh yeah, & he also has some of the most badassed theme songs in all of entertainment (One-Winged Angel, & Those Chosen By The Planet - Final Battle Edition). Sephiroth: Oh?! Where did you find this strength?! Raymond Karl: At the bottom of a box of Wheaties!
Definitely a good video with ff7 remake around the corner. I think him supposedly being paired up with Aerith first was interesting. Also, so what the bit about Advent Children was intrested. I loved that movie. Awesome video. Thanks!
Omg imagine if the Hojo being the leader of the Sephiroth fanclub was finally confirmed. HIS DAD IS REALLY OUT HERE MANAGING HIS FANCLUB CAN YOU IMAGINE
Another fact: The english voice actor of Sephiroth, George Newburn, has also voiced Superman from Justice League. Now we finally know what the "S" stands for on Superman's uniform. ;)
You can also defeat Sephiroth by using “Steal”. If you cheat your way into putting this materia on Cloud during the final fight and use it, Sephiroth just dies. It’s wild.
@@robertmoore3904 Pretty much,I remember when I was playing KH2 a while back. And me absolutely getting my ass handed to me so may times by him,SO badly. It wasn't EVEN funny,it was just absolutely pathetic....😑
I remember as a kid when I got to the final fight with shirtless Sephiroth I was in to much awe to press anything right away, and ended up killing him with a counter. ... My young self was pretty disappointed. Until I of course replayed the final fight and did Omni-Slash, which I had never unlocked or had seen before at that time. ... Good times. Lol.
you know, I know it's supposed to be something that everybody just except when they're playing these games, but no one ever take some to consideration the fact that these people are actually people. I mean just think about it, upon hearing about the fact that sephiroth uses an entire bottle of shampoo and conditioner when washing his hair, it shows you that he like everybody else has bathed, and that means also that he eats, has probably crashed into bed a few times, has woken up with Bed Head, and gone to the bathroom. But during the course of the game, nobody ever considers the fact that he did all that. And that all of the protagonist in the game likely have done the same thing just keeping up with their day-to-day needs as they pursued several through the course of the game. It's interesting what adding those humanizing elements to a character can do.
Added facts about the facts : In Advent Children, Sephiroth almost never grunts or take a breath when he fights against Cloud, they wanted to show that, despite him losing the fight, he was clearly superior. He was just playing with Cloud, he could have killed him very easily. He also barely blinks. Sephiroth is ambidextrous but his main hand is the left one. So maybe he was just going easy on Sora in KH using his weaker hand ;) What's funny about Sephiroth is that, sure SE made him the bad guy because he was this epic and really cool looking character, but in FFVII it's not really clear who is the true antagonist, him, or Jenova. If you think about it, Sephiroth first appearance in the game was in Disk2, in the North Crater after the fight against JENOVA-Death, when Cloud gave him the black materia (and he was unconscious). Before that it was Jenova disguised as Sephiroth to manipulate Cloud. So even in the City of the Ancients, it was Jenova who killed our beloved flower girl. The question is : is it Sephiroth who controls Jenova, or Jenova who controls Sephiroth ? I have a theory based on Geostigmas that can explain how Sephiroth was maybe just as manipulate as Cloud in FFVII. I can explain, if someone cares x) The only difference is that Sephiroth had no one to help him get himself together, he was alone. Awesome video btw ;)
The oficial explanation is that Sephiroth managed to control Jenova during all the game to make the Reunion but.... I really think that they said that just to keep the general vision of Sephiroth as the main antagonist, not a puppet. But it doesn't make sense that Sephiroth would like to destroy the planet and travel through space with his "mother"... unless he has been afected and manipulated by Jenova, like all the Ancients before he, and like every clone and being with Jenova's cells (including Cloud).
@@Killer_Kool7 Jenova's plan was to summon meteor to damage the planet, and then stay inside the wound and absorb all the lifestream to obtain enough power to be able to travel through space (become a god) and absorb more planets. She manipulated Sephiroth to do the same. In Advent Children, Sephiroth even talked about traveling through space with his mother.
and this is why Sephiroth is my favorite video game character of all time, even more than Soul Calibur's Viola. she may be flawless perfection in appearance, but Sephiroth is the Alpha and Omega, not only is he flawless perfection in appearance but also in battle.
No no no !!!!!! Virgil is the alpha and the omega. Virgil would destroy seph,ok maybe not but it's a fight i want to see Also just for the record my first time crossing paths with seph was KH

I always felt that Ultimecia should be more famous than Sephiroth. Surprise boss at the end of the game? No... she manipulated the entire events of the story without ever putting herself at risk, until the very end... anything else was just collateral damage to her. She was an amazing character created by the timeline that despised sorceresses, something she couldn’t choose to be.... being hated turned her bitter & she ultimately became one step away from being a goddess above all in response. “Sorrow” & “Grief” being what she was raised on, it was her motive to overcome everyone else in existence & return that sorrow & grief in response. Becoming a goddess & never having to feel that again.
James Gravil but it was concluded that she had an exact motive, it was an “oh shit” moment in the game when you realized she’s been controlling nearly every aspect of the political world around you. Only reason there wasn’t direct confrontation is cause she could find who the “seed” that kill her in the future are... there for we grew wiser/stronger eventually making our way to her castle & completing the timeline she feared most. Her actions ended up causing the death she tried to prevent. So fearful of dying at the hands of the “soldiers” who resented her since she was a child, ended up coming true... out of understandable fear she detested the soldiers who were after her long before her death & tried to stop it.

Good stuff, thanks for mentioning
Net Myth, my pleasure.
Sin has affected our souls and without Jesus to come an save you you'll be damned forever in the fire, But God in his great love sent Jesus to save us from sin and hell and death! He took our punishment that we deserved he took our sins to the cross and died to save us but it's not over! God rose him from the dead on third day!
For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.📖🕊1 John 1:9 (KJV) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Then His blood cleanses us from all sins and we are filled with Jesus's holy Spirit and light! No more darkness will exist in us 📖🕊1 John 1:7 (KJV) But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
Hum, I think that Jenova could be based on a place called Genova, a place where conquerors came from.
Out all of the facts I wasn't expecting Sephiroth hair routine, hey there's a good marketing idea to promote FF7 remake Lol
Huh. Perfect timing for this to show up in my recommended.
HUSH! THIS IS HEADCANON! DO NOT RUIN IT!!
@@marvelouschester3018 If I remember well, in Crisis Core you discover that Sephiroth is capable to use and fight with both hands.
Here is a bonus fact it’s also confirmed that in advent children he was not even close to full power being closer to below 10%
that's terrifying
Why wouldn’t he just use it?
it also applies to cloud.
All of his materia were stolen ffs, imagine doing no materia challange in the original FFVII
Well, he was using most of his power to make sure his hair remained badass the whole time. It takes a lot of effort to maintain such wonderful hair.
@@omegaharbmaster I feel like it's less that he wasn't using his full power, and more that he didn't HAVE his full power.
I never knew I needed the deets on Sephi’s haircare
You forgot to mention that the entire time he was in AC, he never once blinked. Which was another intentional otherworldly element to him.
I never knew that
I always believed that Sephiroth won ff7.
The real villain was Hojo...
@@BaronSengir1008 He was definitely among the most evil to be manipulated since he was actually willing. His curiosity got the better of him.
Looks like someone has been doing his research.
Hey in that picture you look too sad. C’mon man you’re about to become a God! Let’s see a big evil smile ok?

I've learned alot more about Sephiroth in this vid than I imagined going in! Huge kudos to the amazing quality content you're putting out!
Ah! The good old Silver Elite News. Always the highlight of a long day.
Now we know why my man's hair is so damn fabulous. I've considered growing out my hair that long but I'd probably just slam it in my car door lol
He uses a whole bottle of shampoo to wash his hair ;)
I will delete this comment if its mentioned here :D
6:00 yep! Oh yeah conditioner as well I forgot xD
I think as of the Virgil vs Sephiroth deathbattle video, that's not really an unknown fact, anymore 😅
@@catarena8031 yeah good point lol.
That's such a weird detail because I guess it applies in Crisis Core, but after that game Sepheroth's just stuck in the crystal and he's able to manipulate his Jenova Body to look however he wants.... So it's this weird thing that only applies to like one appearance, lol.
I wonder if Shinra included a hair care incentive for Sephiroth.

Sephiroth: I am everything.
8th fact you didn't know: He is in smash!
This was _VERY_ informative! I always thought Sephiroth and Aerith looked similar. Knowing that they were originally meant to be siblings makes sense, now! ❤️
Just the thought of sephiroth using a whole ass bottle of shampoo everytime he showers is funny as fuck
Great video. Sephiroth has always been my favorite villain. He’s just so badass.
It never occurred to me that he was left handed.
Fact #8: He's in Smash Ultimate.
Yeeeeesssssirr
Another fact: The english voice actor of Sephiroth, George Newburn, has also voiced Superman from Justice League. Now we finally know what the "S" stands for on Superman's uniform. ;)
Finally! A vid about our boi!
Thank you FFU!
You can also defeat Sephiroth by using “Steal”. If you cheat your way into putting this materia on Cloud during the final fight and use it, Sephiroth just dies. It’s wild.
Watching this since he got announced for smash to learn more about THE Anime Swordsman
“...used to demonize Sephoroth...”
Yes.........he’s still a demon for killing her like that! *wipes tear away*
"Square Enix loves collaborations"
Yeah but they are greedy as hell in Smash
I wonder if that'll still apply after you-know-what.
Maybe not as much as we thought lol.
I've only ever played FFXIV, but one look at this guy and I'm thinking "I'll play any game if you're in it"
Give Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 a try. He's in it.
Meteornome beating the piss outta the player
@@robertmoore3904 Pretty much,I remember when I was playing KH2 a while back. And me absolutely getting my ass handed to me so may times by him,SO badly. It wasn't EVEN funny,it was just absolutely pathetic....😑
The remake is right around the corner, here's your chance :P
I'm kinda salty he's not in FF14, since they added that overrated Joker ripoff Kefka.
Oh i didn't know that Sephiroth shared seiyuu with Griffith, that explain a lot!
I was reading this as i said it😂
Isshin Kurosaki and Minato Namikaze. Also Yoshikage Kira.
I remember as a kid when I got to the final fight with shirtless Sephiroth I was in to much awe to press anything right away, and ended up killing him with a counter. ... My young self was pretty disappointed.
Until I of course replayed the final fight and did Omni-Slash, which I had never unlocked or had seen before at that time.
... Good times. Lol.
It was really cool to find out how much attention had been put on making him seem/feel otherworldly
you know, I know it's supposed to be something that everybody just except when they're playing these games, but no one ever take some to consideration the fact that these people are actually people.
My favorite Final Fantasy villain ever :)
11:34 & 16:52 Did no one catch that they have the same text despite talking about two different things?
I was about to comment the same thing!
How nice for this to show up in my timeline right about now!
Once the Sephiroth music comes on , you better watch out 🎶
Added facts about the facts :
In Advent Children, Sephiroth almost never grunts or take a breath when he fights against Cloud, they wanted to show that, despite him losing the fight, he was clearly superior. He was just playing with Cloud, he could have killed him very easily.
He also barely blinks.
Sephiroth is ambidextrous but his main hand is the left one. So maybe he was just going easy on Sora in KH using his weaker hand ;)
What's funny about Sephiroth is that, sure SE made him the bad guy because he was this epic and really cool looking character, but in FFVII it's not really clear who is the true antagonist, him, or Jenova.
I can explain, if someone cares x)
The only difference is that Sephiroth had no one to help him get himself together, he was alone.
Awesome video btw ;)
I think its Jenova manipulating Sephiroth and Cloud, remember Sephiroth with Angeal and Genesis and such... pretty much the good guy then
@@ScrewFearMe Jenova is the puppet
The oficial explanation is that Sephiroth managed to control Jenova during all the game to make the Reunion but.... I really think that they said that just to keep the general vision of Sephiroth as the main antagonist, not a puppet.
But it doesn't make sense that Sephiroth would like to destroy the planet and travel through space with his "mother"... unless he has been afected and manipulated by Jenova, like all the Ancients before he, and like every clone and being with Jenova's cells (including Cloud).
@@sefirotsgame that wasn't Sephiroth's goal. He wanted to become a God. The opposite of Jenova's plan
If anyone hasn't told you yet, your voice is pleasant to listen to.
The hair in FF7ac was my biggest praise, no wonder. 😁
Hard to believe he was sane at one point in his life... such a shame a great man like him lost his way

What I really liked about Dirge of Cerberus. It wasn't just a Vincent story but also about Sephiroth and how they actually connect in FF7.
I love Sephi! Looking forward to see what they've done with him in the remake. Will miss George doing his voice though.
and this is why Sephiroth is my favorite video game character of all time, even more than Soul Calibur's Viola. she may be flawless perfection in appearance, but Sephiroth is the Alpha and Omega, not only is he flawless perfection in appearance but also in battle.
No no no !!!!!! Virgil is the alpha and the omega. Virgil would destroy seph,ok maybe not but it's a fight i want to see
Also just for the record my first time crossing paths with seph was KH
You know the genius changes that were made throughout the game's creation is quite cool. To learn that one of the changes brought about Zack a character beloved by many. There are some personal issues I have with the game but overall I am a big fan of those who created this genius project. But can I say the scene with the guy in the shower, priceless!
@3:05 Oh cool, I always noticed the similar hair style but didn't know it was actually a relic of a changed plot element.
A video about Sephiroth, bless!! I knew everything already but hearing it all read out loud makes me so happy 🖤 >o
Maybe the Jenova cells prevents Sephiroth from being exhausted you know

Sephiroth is ambidextrous confirmed
Why is Sephiroth's head just on the handle of a sword so funny
Finally a fact video where i actually didn't know most of the facts.
Here we go hating on Sephiroth again
Sephiroth Crescent where’s the sephiroth hate?? Nobody said anything bad about him.
@@rwade4387 I assumed you was hating on him because you said another villian should be more popular. Kinda like how People say the same thing except replace Ultimecia with Kefka. It just pisses me off
@@Killer_Kool7 Well it shouldn't piss you off, Everyone has their favorites. I don't get pissed off that people favor other bosses, I have my favorite & I value them the same as anyone else.
