Absolutely love the dayfarer v2 for urban edc and minimal travel. I am a huge side access pocket guy buuuuut I gotta have it off the right shoulder. I sling and move things from left pants pockets in and out of the pack all the time. Sorry evergoods but that makes your stuff super awkward. Two things I’ve mentioned I would change. Shoe pocket. I don’t use it ever. A redesign to make it stand would be sweet but I get it kind of changes the point of the pack. Second I didn’t like the fidlock on ballistic version it will pop off if you just lift the edge of the pack. This is an improvement but I’d have preferred a cobra buckle or even a simple plastic buckle. This of course changes the “upscale” look they’re going for. I also enjoy the m22 but much prefer being able to clamshell for travel and the ballistic nylon on the dayfarer resists pet hair much better and feels much better in hand than 500d. Would love to get this xpac version but it just doesn’t make financial sense owning the ballistic.
Hey bud I have known David and have been a fan of his products for a while now. I always suggested that this backpack should be made or technically speaking, re made in X-pac bc he did have a special edition back in the day made from Multicam Black X-50.. thanks for making this video I’m gonna grab me a black variant now bc I like to support real entrepreneurs and genuinely like David’s products. I think I have the previous version of this pack in Slate grey and I really want him to make his mid size sling in something like ecopak or anything sailcloth. Love the content as usual - cheers!
I have the v1 not in xpak and its really water reaistent pack! I use for a personal item ( minmal travel backpack) its fits a pair of flip flop the 2 peak design packing cube and other small pouck that i use for tech and toilet . I love it but the v1 its more rigid and boxy than the v2 its more flexy and i love more but its not the moment for buy other backpack 🤣
I have been watching this backpack for years now, but I really do not like to have that shoe pocket underneath, reason why I have never pulled the trigger. Hey JB, do you happend to shoot your videos in the Atlanta area?
The shoe pocket stays out of the way when not in use. A feature some will love I'm sure. I don't venture into the city much for filming and I tend to stay in the burbs.

What do you think of the x-pac material vs the normal one? They read both weather resistant right? I much prefer this v buckle though!!

Yes, that’s probably accurate. The top flap is pretty stiff out of the box.
