Thank you for the great review, JB! This new version has ended up being my personal unicorn bag. This is the exact form factor that I have been searching for.
I'm very much on the fence with this one. The organization on my older model Evade 1.5 Full is almost perfect for me (for instance, the CCW compartment was great for wallets & other sensitive items you wanted to keep secure). The main tempting feature is the reduced weight, but I might just go with an updated Whitley instead. That said, I do like that I can take the admin pouch & beaver tail I already have for my existing bag & use it with this newer bag. Good video!
I’ve been wanting to get an evade but seems like they went backwards with this update. Sure the magnetic patch feature and coyote interior is really cool. But they removed a lot features, no bungie, bottom straps for jackets, blankets etc no molle interior. Just seems they went less features for a sleeker look
Great review! 👍 Chunkier than I had imagined, but I guess it was pretty packed out in your video. I can't think of a decent use case for the velcro liner at the top/laptop compartment though.
I could see it being used to a water bladder hose from the main body of the bag and up and out the laptop compartment. Maybe clip the bladder to the internal webbing and secure it either in the tablet/document sleeve or with webbing to the internal loops, then peel open a small hole in the Velcro and feed the tube through there and out the laptop sleeve. Dunno how well that’d work, but might be possible.
That's actually a really good idea and a solid use of that velcro barrier. Makes this and outdoor bag for sure...the suspension is the only big problem. @@djberry7673
Love the video! Random question. Where is that patch booklet from?! I've been looking for a way to organize my patches and that looks absolutely fantastic.
Apparently AON has no idea how to mount the compression straps as well. Wrestled with mine and then sent them a couple of emails, no response. Not sure why it is included if the company doesn't know how to attach. The front admin section is too tight for their type 1 an 2 organizers, used a Vanquest organizer instead. The loop panel here would work well with a CCW as it sits low and is partially obscured by the pocket flap.

That's awesome!! Glad you found the ONE!
Another winner from Alpha19. They don’t disappoint
Truth 👊🏻

Yeah, tough call there. I think there's a lot more to this update beyond the weight difference.

I don’t know if this was a pre-production model, but mine has loops to connect a waist belt.
THANK YOU!! I totally missed that...mine DOES have the attachment points.

It compresses down nicely when not stuffed full of
Good stuff. Me either...yet 😜

Thin body armor was my thoughts like from premier armor.

Thank you! @@JBOutside1
would love to see a comparison vid of this and the CPL24. maybe not the most obvious two bags to compare, but both are at the top of my list.
I’ll see what I can do. Thanks!
Will that beaver tail hold a hardhat for construction work?
Depends on the size I suppose but I think so
Excellent Vid! Would you say the laptop compartment could fit a tennis racket? Hope the conceal makes a comeback too.
I can barely keep up with laptop sizes...😜

Good feedback. I may do a video on the attachment if I can figure it out!
I’ve had mine ordered since Feb 2 and I still don’t have it.
They did say shipping out mid to late February. It says it in bold letters
Hopefully soon!
Looks like a great pack. How do you like the apple ultra watch? I’m trying to decide on the ultra or a Sunnto watch.
If you’re in the Apple ecosystem it’s the way to go in my opinion.
@@JBOutside1 thanks. How’s the navigation on it? I’ve heard of people using the workout doors app.
@@anthonyrampino7734 it’s terrible. And really it’s only flaw. I tried WOD and didnt like it.
@@JBOutside1 thank, I appreciate the help.
Thanks for the video, JB! Size wise and capacity-wise, how does this compare to the GR Bullet DC18?
Oh! That’s a good one. I’d guess VERY close in a packout
Kind of miss the loop/molle panel from v1.
I can see that
How’s the comfort compared to a goruck gr2? Looks like it might be a goruck killer with all the features and form.
I think this one is just as comfortable for this size pack
Awesome looking bag. It's a heavier bag at 3.5lbs - do you feel it after wearing it for a few hours?
Not at all. Most of my bags are 3-4 lbs
Nice! and I really like the beaver tail set up wow!
Me too!
It's definitely an upgrade from the older gen, but I love the old gen so much😭
I can see that 👊🏻
Where did you get that patch? I cannot find it online for the life of me.
If you're on Facebook message "Joel Whitcomb". He has them.
@@JBOutside1 The patch arrived today. I am so happy. Thank you!
Does the organizer they sell really not fit the loop area?
Hadn’t heard that. It should fit
What water bottle is that?
It's from Prometheus Design Werx
If you lock the main compartment can you still get in through the unlocked laptop compartment?
Yes, through the Velcro
Is it supports 18 inch laptops?
No
Hey JB TAD just released a new S2 vx pack jump on it before its gone and I would love to see a review on it.
Eric
I’ve already done that one. But in waxed canvas
Nice!@@JBOutside1
all of their bags look like it should be used by a student carrying books to class.
Ok, I can see your point. They’re a little less tactical in recent forms
Video too long
Thanks for watching
Good reviews and nice commentaries, but fix the lighting.
Your vdo's are way too dark.
Get out of the caveman lighting mode.
Thanks for the tip
Too damn thick
I can see that
What is that 🔥 orange pack in the background?
