so I typically troll comment on you and Jeremy, you guys are fun and can take it.
but very honestly, i feel you are in the wrong on Sonic. It's probably a 6-7/10 kids film, and thats all it will ever be and maybe the sequel is better or worse. Its a kids film, it was never marketed or talked about as a teenage niche geek film. This movie was for the older fans to bring their kids, and for the new audience of kids to see sonic for the first time. I also heard there was something goin on with the IP rights. If Sega starts making video game movies/tv shows geared towards kids, they would be following in the footsteps of Bandai and Gundam. Spread the fandom, increase the new blood into the fandom. But each property has to have a bit of success. Old hands will watch a mediocre kids film cause fandom, but it has to be at least okay and new kids have to at least like it. I will use Gundam and Bandai as another example. They cycle between military and wonkey fantasy magic series every couple of your years. The military stuff is still not aimed at adults, but its there for the older gundam fans. The fantasy mech stuff is for the new younger super power loving kids. they get to see mechs and fall in love, then look to see what else Gundam Bandai has made when they grow up. I think a lot of us would be happy to see Sega property tv shows and movies for kids in the future, especially since so many of us are at that age where Young Baby Thors might be coming around for some of us.
