He’s had us millennial women in a chokehold as Mr. Darcy for nearly two decades. That hand flex. The way he’s so intense. The way his eyes light up his entire face like a bonfire when he smiles. He’s perfect for the role.
I hope he knows now that he is the BEST Mr. DARCY!!! Loved him since 20 years ago.. I watched deadpool and I said, is that mr.darcy!?!?! Spectacular actor and human in general! ❤
I did not like him as Mr. Darcy but ironically, it was the movie that reawakened my love for Pride and Prejudice. Reading the book again as an adult, I decided that Macfadyen's Darcy missed the mark of interpreting the reserved and haughty Darcy and instead was essentially a shy, cuddly sort. That said, I did end up loving Macfadyen and wanting to watch him in every role he has played since. He has been different in each. Such a good actor who inhabits even role so vividly. His Mr. Darcy made Pride and Prejudice a different story from the one I think Austen told, but it was in its own right a good story. Yeah, I love him.
I wonder if he didn’t enjoy pride and prejudice so much because he had so few lines to say. To us it was the nuance of his expressions that made his performance so rich and moving.
Любовь из России! Очень нравится, как он живёт в роли мистера Дарси! Молодец!❤До лета 2024 года даже не знала о существовании этого актёра, пока не посмотрела "Гордость и предубеждение".
From his roles in Anna Karenina, Pride and Prejudice, and Succession, it's hard to believe that the same person is playing all three roles. He's an incredible actor.
NOPE, his BEST early role was ARTHUR CLENNAM in LITTLE DORRITT w Claire Foy and Andy Serkis, FAR BETTER as Arthur than Darcy! Still his best role to date! He is as iconic as Arthur as Firth is for Darcy; each role suits each actor best. It's also ANDY SERKIS' best, as serial killer RIGAUD! ESSENTIAL watch for either MM or AS fans! check it out/BBC
I like him as the person that he comes across to be, never saw other things he made but P&P and though there were some good scenes and beautiful cinematography and I was very exited to see it, when it came out, as a longterm Jane Austen Fan I was really disappointed. I think a lot of the cast were miscast and the script turned characters of the book into unrecognisable versions of themselves. If you never read the book understand that you would really like that movie and the snippets of the other things he did I saw here, seem like great acting. Also I like the other "miscast" actors in other movies. Maybe it was mostly the script that made them seem miscast. Mr Collins was great and Lydia but much of the rest were portraying their roles, or let's say the script made them portray there roles unrecognisable.
Just curious...were you being facetious? He's done theater quite a few times since his early forays on the stage. Most recently Henry IV, The Pain and The Itch, Total Eclipse, Private Lives, and Perfect Nonsense.
@@gailwebb9619Totally agree with you!!! I wonder if upsallauniversity123 has any prizes of their own besides the prize for the largest neggo wall🙃. Shameful, by the way, to hide inside the walls and try to take benefit of the university's name...
Macfadyen was EXTRAORDINARY in "Pride & Prejudice," nothing less. Subtle, touching, and beautiful. He and Knightley were perfectly paired. ❤️
I so agree!! ❤
And in the series 'Spooks' of BBC .Though he appears only in the first episodes of the series

He’s perfect. His voice, his hands, his speech 🥵🥵🥵🥵
LITERALLY i’m always melting over him

20 years after his mesmerizing performance as "Mr. Darcy", Matthew Macfadyen's star shines brighter than ever🙌👏
Lovely actor. No one here has mentioned Death at a Funeral, a real treasure. MM is sublime. There are many standout performances.
This man is PERFECT

My God, this man is beautiful..
LOVED him as Wambsgans, just delightful.
Matthew’s voice here is so much more pleasant to listen to than when he plays Tom on Succession.
❤As Mr. Darcy❤
He was one of my favorites in MI5 (Spooks). Best voice ever.

Tom celebrating in Greg's office is my top moment of the whole show second only to Squiggle's beats
I loved him in Pride and Predujice.

What a wonderful smile and laugh he has
After all the years of Succession I was a bit shocked to hear his English accent in this interview.
I loved him in Pride & Prejudice from 2005 with Keira Knightley. 😊

To all who love Matthew Macfadyen, you must watch him in “The Reckoning” film from 2003, it’s where I first fell in love with him!
Thank you!! I didn't know about that one -- same year of release as Pride and Prejudice!

Ryan’s comic timing is top notch.
He will always be Tom Quinn! I miss Spooks. I think that’s his best role.
I can get over him with an American accent!
Darcy. ❤
what about his performance in Ana Karenina. Mesmerising.

He kind of felt like the Harvey Korman of Deadpool & Wolverine if you're comparing it to another great comedy Blazing Saddles
Yes, I am old, I loved blazing saddle’s, laughed so much in the theater.
