- With the Acolyte episode 8 already a massive failure for lucasfilm and disney after dragging in cameos like darth plagueis and yoda in the acolyte finale.....this only made things worse for the acolyte rotten tomatoes score on the critic scale along with the acolyte viewership from the neilson ratings....one major development now has more to do with how actress Amandla Stenberg is acting after the acolyte cancelled situation behind the scenes by bob iger that kathleen kennedy and leslye headland are furious about. With the Acolyte season 2 cancelled drama already creating a divide between lucasfilm and disney....amandla stenberg recently took this out on the fans as well.

None of the duels were good, ok at best. Lots of stops and starts that don't make sense and "Force" applications that are used one moment then forgotten about later. The lack of story telling ability and continuity is way killed this show.

I just watched a video explanation of this series,the guy REACHED, but putting it in bare bones and forcing it into the lore a bit can make it made sense, but this story could easily get novelized or in comic and have the same impact for way cheaper

This is all corporate speak by them. It's likely this statement by her, wasn't even completely written by her.
And, they try to claim it's just a small percentage of the fan base that's loud and toxic, trying to influence the real fans, that's projection. We are just expressing how we truly feel about the show. They are trying to influence fans, by labeling the majority opinion as toxic, and claiming it's a minority. The show didn't fail because the majority of fans are toxic. It failed because as usual, Disney tries to cater to a small minority, and then wonders why the majority of fans don't like it.
They also try to act like making shows that cater to women is new and edgy. It's not. Chick Flicks have been around for a very very long time. Almost as long as movies have been. But Star Wars always had an appeal for both men and women. Probably more so for men, but women loved seeing these movies with their men. Kind of like men loved watching Gone With The Wind, with their women. Disney is turning the shows into Girl Power Chick Flicks, and wonders why the majority don't like it.
Finally, Disney thinks they can just ignore Canon and grant themselves a blank slate when they please. One day they might wake up and realize that you can't do that with established franchises that people are passionate about.

I believe a good actor/actress will still manage to pull a show up a bit, or at least make it less of a disaster if its poorly written and poorly directed. However Amandla isn't that 'good actress' and is apparently coasting along on her DEI credentials and having been on Disney payroll since she was a child.
As a consequence she will, of course, blame the fans. It's what Leslie and Kathleen do so why would she be any different? She can't think for herself anymore and is incapable of critical thinking or self examination. Really sad.

Im a woman of color and life long Star Wars supporter. I’ve seen every movie and watched every show except this one. Good is not bad. That's what needs to be done. Just make it non-canon and wipe it off the Star Wars legacy. Let them make however many seasons they want, if Disney wants to let that happen, make a new show with good writing, story and characters and they'll see what the true fans want to see.

When supposed story tellers, Amandla Stenberg, Kathleen Kennedy, Leslye Headland have to keep explaining the Acolyte story externally and apart from the story itself, then that is a clear indicator that the story is not a good story, nor is it well told.

Amandla could be any race or gender, she sucks is the problem. Lore breaking to the point it feels they don’t even research ideas and above all the storytelling is BAD. Season 1 had messy editing and dumb plots all while framing itself as a “mystery” type show, but nothing was a mystery. The show spelled everything out for us constantly, as if we were dumb babies.

Yeah, I understand. I too try to blame everybody else when I fuck up. Like, it's not my fault the house caught fire, it was the firefighters not arriving early enough. Or, it was not my fault that I uploaded a patch at work that bricked thousands of customers systems, it was actually the EU's fault because of some arcane policy they brought forth some years ago that let me have the kernel-access. And when I write my short-stories and share them with my friends, when someone does not seem to like them, I cut all ties with them, block them on social media and my phone contacts, and then tell the rest of my friends that they are too stupid to understand what I wrote.
